I've been getting a lot of questions over the last few months about whether it's better to create a Facebook group or use a Facebook business page to grow your online business. While business pages used to be great, a lot has changed over the years on Facebook and they may not be as helpful now as they used to be. So in today's episode, I'm talking about why business pages are no longer as good as they used to be, and why it may be more beneficial to use a Facebook group to grow your business. We'll also talk about when a business page is necessary so you can decide what's best for you! Happy listening! I'm doing it. It's time to get a little controversial. One of my favourite books, "Oversubscribed" by Daniel Priestly, emphasises the importance of not following the pack, but instead standing by your values, even if it means standing out from the crowd. In this episode, I want to share a rather controversial opinion of mine that often goes against what many other Social Media Trainers and Coaches believe - specifically in the MLM, Network Marketing and Party Plan Direct Selling Industry. I'm passionate about this industry, and also passionately believe there's a right way to grow your business, especially on Social Media. You see, an old friend of mine contacted me recently with an unsolicited message on Facebook about a business opportunity. When her name popped up, I smiled, thinking she was reaching out with genuine care and an interest in reconnecting… Only to find out she was promoting her new business opportunity with a rather generic message, sent to another hundred others too. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Social Media wants us to be exactly that - social. BUT with the rise of businesses on platforms such as Facebook, there has also been a spotlight on some bad (antisocial!) behaviours by a few, affecting many. And you know what? Facebook has even clamped down on the Direct Selling industry due to these behaviours - ouch! So, I want to take a moment to talk about how to best behave on Social Media; in a way that will build meaningful and lasting relationships, actually grow your business and avoid getting your Personal Profile (and all the pictures, memories and everything important that goes along with it!) flagged by Facebook. Let's talk all things Personal Profiles; what's okay, what you should do, and what you absolutely shouldn't. I'll discuss practices taught by others in my field and tell you what I won't stand for. In short, I believe in using Personal Profiles correctly to benefit your business growth. So, if that's something you want for your business, this is the episode for you. Let's dive in! We'll be talking about: ➡ [0:00] Introduction ➡ [5:34] Profile vs Page vs Groups, what's the difference ➡ [8:20] Three key things needed for a successful Direct Selling business ➡ [8:53] How your Profile, Page and Groups help your business ➡ [10:02] Personal Profile do's and don'ts ➡ [11:06] Don't post constantly about your business or product ➡ [11:20] Do remember why people are connected to you ➡ [13:22] Don't spam ➡ [15:09] Do use your Personal Profile to connect to your Business Page and Group ➡ [19:31] The Russian roulette of connections via LinkedIn ➡ [22:09] Don't send unsolicited messages ➡ [26:19 Do use your Personal Profile to create curiosity and intrigue ➡ [30:09] How to create curiosity and intrigue ➡ [33:43] Don't be anything but you ➡ [33:56] Build trust ➡ [38:01] Don't post for the purpose of click-baiting ➡ [42:48] Inform people ➡[44:08] Look at the bigger picture Resources: Book recommendation ➡ Oversubscribed by Daniel Priestly: https://bit.ly/46i68uj Connect with Direct Selling Accelerator: ➡ Visit our website: https://www.auxano.global/ ➡ Subscribe to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DirectSellingAccelerator ➡ Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/auxanomarketing/ ➡ Sam Hind's Instagram: https://instagram.com/samhinddigitalcoach ➡ Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/auxanomarketing/ ➡ Email us: grow@auxano.global If you have any podcast suggestions or things you'd like to learn about specifically, please send us an email at the address above. Imagine if on a first date someone asked “will you marry me?” Do you know where this is leading… In today's episode, we're going to explore a fascinating connection between two seemingly unrelated subjects: Dating 101 and strategies commonly used on Social Media. This is one of my absolute favourite analogies and methods to build relationships with your ideal customers! Think about it this way, jumping into a relationship without truly understanding the other person is quite similar to how many people approach online businesses. They dive straight into the sell, asking for a commitment, before even taking their dream customer on one simple date. They skip the crucial steps of building a connection. Here's the thing though; people buy from people they like, know and trust. In this episode, we'll draw parallels between traditional dating and our online interactions; underscoring the importance of gradual relationship growth. We'll talk about investing time in getting to know and engage with people — building trust and understanding. Join me as we explore the first step in effective online 'dating': the art of authentic relationships on Social Media. Let's dive in and discover the world of meaningful connections, one step at a time. Listen in and be ready to embrace the power of authentic engagement - it's about attracting the right people to grow our business effectively. Enjoy! We'll be talking about: ➡ [0:00] Introduction ➡ [2:07] Where to date? ➡ [3:03] Questions you need to ask yourself ➡ [4:40] Pay attention to HOW people use social media platforms ➡ [5:29] Personal Profile, Business Pages and Groups, which of these to use? ➡ [6:05] Personal Profiles, a quick look ➡ [8:12] What about Business Pages ➡ [11:10] Groups are… ➡ [15:10] What's your nurture sequence? ➡ [15:21] Final thoughts Resources: ➡ Keen to learn more? With host retail coach Wendy Batten https://wendybatten.com/podcast-intro/ Many of our creative businesses start as passion projects because we truly love what we are doing. However, we all know by now that running a business takes more than passion. Today I'm talking with Leanne Pressly, founder and CEO of Stitchcraft Marketing, about all things social media: an aspect of our businesses that creatives often overlook. Stitchcraft Marketing is a digital marketing agency that specializes in helping fiber and fabric companies with social media strategy and execution. Throughout the episode, you'll hear so many nuggets of wisdom from Leanne about social media strategy. Here are some of the social media pointers we dig into: 1.Keep it simple. Instead of managing 4 social media poorly, cut it back and focus on the one you are most familiar and comfortable with. 2.Be sure that you keep alert to changes happening on the platform you use because the social media landscape changes fast and often. 3.Post consistently and stay engaged with your audience. 4.Lean into your competitive advantage: YOU are your brand and you have that advantage over the big box stores. 5.Use ChatGPT for ideation, not as a replacement for blog posts/content. Some tips for being efficient when managing your social media strategy: 1.Enlist the help of apps like Trello and Canva. 2.Use a content calendar to reference what you want to focus on. 3.Batch your content. 4.Schedule your content in advance. We also touched on what's hot right now in the social media universe (May 2023): (1) Short Form video and (2) Facebook moving away from Business Pages and Groups and into profiles that were converted from Individual pages into Professional Mode and (3) the rise of TikTok (4) live selling (CommentSold). About Leanne: Leanne Pressly is an accomplished entrepreneur and businesswoman with extensive experience in the craft and hobby industry. She is the CEO and Founder of Stitchcraft Marketing, a digital marketing agency that specializes in helping fiber and fabric companies with social media strategy and execution. Under Leanne's leadership, Stitchcraft Marketing has grown into a leading digital marketing agency in the craft industry, working with clients ranging from independent craft shops to major craft brands such as Olfa, Bernina, Knitter's Pride and h+h Americas. Leanne is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events where she shares her expertise in digital marketing and entrepreneurship. She also hosts the podcast, Business of Craft showcasing topics to help craft retailers thrive. In her free time, Leanne enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with her family in the Colorado outdoors. She is also an avid maker particularly in the areas of knitting, quilting and collage art. Asking all of your friends to like your Facebook page may seem like a great way to quickly boost your page's visibility and reach, but in reality, it can actually be detrimental to your business. Here are a few reasons why: Targeted audience: When you ask all of your friends to like your page, you are reaching people who may not be interested in your services or products. This can lead to a lower engagement rate, as well as a lower conversion rate when it comes to turning page likes into paying customers. Quality over quantity: It's important to remember that having a large number of likes on your Facebook page doesn't necessarily mean that your business is doing well. Instead, it's the quality of those likes that really matters. A small number of highly engaged users is more valuable than a large number of users who never interact with your page. Spamming: By asking all of your friends to like your page, you may also be seen as spamming your friends' timelines and newsfeeds. This can lead to them unfollowing or even unfriending you, which can harm your personal relationship with them. Reducing authenticity: Asking all of your friends to like your page can also make your page seem less authentic. People may be more likely to trust a page that has a smaller number of likes that are highly targeted, rather than a page with a large number of likes that may have been acquired through spamming. Decrease organic reach: Asking all of your friends to like your page can also negatively impact your organic reach. Facebook's algorithm is designed to show content to the most engaged audience, and if the majority of your likes are coming from people who are not interested in your services or products, your organic reach will decrease Overall, it is important to remember that quality is more important than quantity when it comes to Facebook likes. Instead of asking all of your friends to like your page, focus on creating high-quality content that will attract your target audience. This will help you build a more engaged and authentic following that is more likely to convert into paying customers. No, this isn't an episode on financial investment. It's an episode on investing in yourself and how to use your life experiences to propel you forward in your journey. The dialogue starts off with the guys elaborating on what they learned from working at some of their earlier jobs that they still utilize today. The conversation moves on and the crew goes on to give their takes on how to operate during ‘idle' time in your life. SOrry this took so long. After the first 1-2 parts of the episode I decided that my audio was garbage and so I rerecorded all my lines. SO yes, that is labor intensive and time consuming. Then the renderings got interrupted 2-3 times because we're working on the electricity in the house. ANYWAY IT IS HERE. Ciara and her uncle, Lucious are following a mysterious man named Rune. They just witnessed him in the act of a vampiric attack. After he was done with his victim he fled the scene and went into the woods. There he was stopped by two vampire women who began to question him as to why he had been gone for so long. While this conversation was going, one of the women noticed Lucious and Ciara. Turns out vampires don't take kindly to eavesdropping. Keyanthi gets to catch up with her dear old brother, Thranion AKA her captor. He took Eravan hostage and is now escorting the two through the woods, away from Virkis. Juxtaposed against this tragedy Luna and her long time boyfriend, Geleach, share a tender moment. Ellie carries out her own artistic vision.... on someone's bald head. Ellie spends time with her old druid teacher, Jade. The two discuss how well Ellie's pilgrimage has been going. Jade also offers Ellie some of her speculations on just how Ellie's magic works. MEANWHILE back in the forest Ciara and her uncle, Lucious are getting thrashed by vampires. Then Ciara is offered a very tempting bargain. One she cannot refuse. Welcome! We're just a bunch strong women (Plus Michael) who enjoy acting and female-centric content.
