4GLOBAL PLC (AIM:4GBL) CEO Eloy Mazon talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's expanded agreement with Sport England. The updated contract deepens 4GLOBAL's role in delivering data-led insights to support increased sports participation across England, extending beyond facilities to include outdoor and informal activity spaces. Mazon explained that this new phase builds on a successful four-year partnership which helped boost participation by over 30%. “We like to think we play a very significant part in achieving those outcomes,” he said, referring to the impact of 4GLOBAL's data platform on investment decisions in grassroots sports. Now, Sport England is shifting focus to track physical activity beyond formal facilities, such as cycling paths and running tracks. 4GLOBAL's recently launched insight platform plays a key role by integrating multiple datasets to generate predictive insights. Mazon said, “This contract…places us at the centre of sport and physical activity in England.” He added that the broader ecosystem engagement—covering everything from local authorities to gym operators—offers not only data value for Sport England but commercial opportunities for 4GLOBAL. Mazon also highlighted the strategic value of this multi-year, multi-million-pound contract as part of the company's move toward recurring revenue and EBITDA growth. “The focus for us going forward is to really grow EBITDA, because that provides us with that free cash flow…to invest in growth,” he noted. 4GLOBAL PLC CEO Eloy Mazon talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's strategic growth, focusing on its expansion into the North American market, following the release of a trading update for the year to end-March 2025. Mazon emphasised that 4GLOBAL is not focused on short-term gains but on building a high-quality, scalable business. He explained that breaking into North America—a challenging but lucrative market—has been a key transition, and the company has made strong progress. Revenue in the region grew by 145%, reaching £1.6 million by February. The company has also shifted its revenue model, increasing repeatable, high-margin contracts from 60% to 81% of total revenue. Mazon highlighted that this shift enhances long-term growth, revenue predictability, and business resilience. Meanwhile, 4GLOBAL has reduced its focus on lower-margin operations in the Middle East, with revenue there dropping from £2.5 million to £400,000. In the UK and Europe, revenue remains steady at £3.1 million, with strong potential for future growth. Mazon stressed that 4GLOBAL has now laid the groundwork for scalable expansion and is positioned for sustainable long-term success. Mazon explained that 4GLOBAL has built one of the world's largest sports participation datasets, helping businesses gain insights into customer behaviour, operations, and investments. With Insight.OS, 4GLOBAL enhances data accessibility for clients. The platform offers three key benefits: improved data processing, flexibility in data visualisation across platforms, and AI-readiness. “It takes us into an AI-ready world where people will be able to access our data to power these new AI agents,” Mazon said. Additionally, Mazon discussed 4GSportsPulse, an expansion targeting sports brands and retailers. The platform helps businesses understand customer footfall and tailor their offerings. The North American market is a key focus for 4GLOBAL, and Mazon emphasized the company's ongoing growth strategy. Last Tuesday evening as thousands of people were commuting home from work and many others continued at their jobs in supermarkets, cinemas, factories, beauty shops and restaurants, unprecedented flash floods hit the Valencia region. That morning at 8am the Spanish Met office issued its highest warning level of maximum red, warning of extreme danger. But the right-wing regional government of Carlos Mazon failed to issue a civil protection alert to residents' mobile phones until 8.15 pm that evening (a full 12 hours later)- by which time the worst of the flooding had already hit. Serious questions are being raised about Mazon's disastrous emergency management as rescue operations continue amid mass destruction and death. The death toll currently stands at 207 but is likely to rise substantially in the coming days while it remains far from clear when any degree of normal life can return to the region. Today on Sobremesa podcast we talk about the tragic events this week along Spain's Eastern coast and the political failures and fallout from the floods.
The Mazon Creek Fossil Formation is famous the world over for the exquisite preservation of soft tissues in animals. These rocks provide pristine snapshots of everything from extinct worms and jellyfish to sharks and even the mysterious Tully Monster. For all that these fossils have taught us about the animals of this long extinct ecosystem, we know far less about the plants that supported this diverse ecology. Join me and Dr. Mike D'Antonio as we learn how he and his colleagues are using sophisticated technologies to shine a light on paleobotanical mysteries hundreds of millions of years in the making. This week on the show, we're taking time to remember. Memory is at the core of so much of Jewish life and tradition, especially during Passover. So we're sharing several stories about memories, from the individual to the collective, and from the difficult to the uplifting. Tablet writer Gabriel Sanders reads his essay about preparing for his first Passover without his father, who spent the last years of his life with Alzeimer's disease. (The version of Ma Lecha Hayam featured in this story is performed by Paul and Lila Shapiro.) Jenny Rozbruch, who designed our Unorthodox and Beautifully Jewish logos, shows us the handmade biography she made for her survivor grandmother whose memories had begun to fade. Producers Courtney Hazlett and Elie Bleier join photographer Ken Taranto as he documents the damage done to the south of Israel on October 7th, as well as the efforts to rebuild. Author Rebecca Sugar discusses her new novel, Everything Is a Little Broken, based heavily on caring for her dad as he ages. Around the world, food insecurity impacts far too many lives. As the war rages on, and hunger threatens so many inside and outside of Israel, the words of the Haggadah implore: “Let all who are hungry come and eat.” Before we sit down for our festive Passover meals, Unorthodox is shining a light on those who help make sure everyone has access to food, year-round. Producers Courtney Hazlett and Elie Bleier visit the Jerusalem food pantry of Meir Panim, which gives out meals to those in need, including many affected by October 7th and the war. We also meet Joseph Gitler, who founded Leket, Israel's National Food Bank, to rescue leftover food from farms and restaurants and distribute it to pantries, shelters, and now, temporary housing for displaced Israelis. Abby Leibman, president and CEO of MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, discusses the organization's efforts to fight hunger through national policy making both in the U.S. and Israel.
