As computing has developed over the past four decades, we increasingly see products designed to be more ‘disposable' rather than upgradeable or made to last longer. However, there are still bright spots within the ecosystem that allow consumers to get more out of their devices or extend their life. Matt Clifford, interviewed here by Cirina Catania on OWC RADiO, plays keyboard in The Rolling Stones touring band, and first worked with Jagger and the group in 1989 when he played on the Steel Wheels album and their world tour. David Bergman is a world-renowned photographer,  A Canon Explorer of Light, he is known for his amazing ability to capture awe-inspiring images.  And we love that he uses OWC drives. Ian Grech edited an amazing documentary currently streaming on Netflix called "14 Peaks." Our host, Cirina Catania, talked with him about how he managed to juggle over 100 hours of footage in multiple formats using Premiere Pro. “14 Peaks - Nothing is Impossible.” is a compelling documentary currently available on Netflix. It tells the story of Nimsdai Purja, a fearless Nepali athlete and his vow to climb every mountain in the world higher than 8,000 meters in less than 7 months. It was a death-defying feat and Nims broke several world records in the process, including the fastest ascent of all peaks over 8,000 meters without supplementary oxygen. His final finishing time was 6 months, 6 days! Of course, the story is fascinating, because of the physical and mental challenges, but also because of the heart-warming backstories of Nim's family and friends.   Cirina spoke with Ian about his workflow, Premiere Pro, building the storylines from a myriad of  different media formats and sub-stories. Ian worked with over 100 hours of footage! This week Host, Cirina Catania talks with the ever-extraordinary electronic musician, Rhys Fulber. He is a truly international musical genius who was born in Vancouver of a German father and a mother from Great Britain.  Rhys grew up with the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Kraftwerk and the local punk rockers blasting from his father's recording studio. At the age of 13 he began drumming, sometimes gigging with his Dad, and he was always at the studio. In 1984, he became interested in electronic music and once he got his first synthesizer, life changed for him! He became friends with Bill Leeb, who had just left Skinny Puppy. Rhys' early adventures included collaborations with Front Line Assembly and eventually tours with that group as well as Delirium well into the late 90's. It was fun talking with him and I found him to be quite understated when it comes to talking about himself…He mentions the time when Sara Mc Lachlan dropped in on him and liked what she heard. They collaborated on that work! And a few years later, he worked with Sinead O'Connor.
