In this episode, I speak with Sandeep Farias, co-founder and managing director of Elevar Equity. If I wanted to describe Sandeep in one sentence, I'd probably say he's a nomadic child of India's landscapes who became an impact investing titan. His early life was shaped by his father's multiple assignments in the State Bank of India. From spending time in the mountains of Mount Abu to the chaos of Bangalore, he found a unique perspective on adaptability and resilience. In our conversation, Sandeep openly talks about the beginnings of his career, where he went from fixing bicycles to working in a garment factory. These early hands-on experiences, together with his academic journey in law, uniquely prepared him for a not-so-conventional path.Sandeep graduated from the prestigious National Law School of India University in Bangalore and started a legal career with stints at top Indian law firms. His rapid ascent in the legal world led him to Nishith Desai Associates, where he led the corporate law practice – a pretty meteoric rise for someone just four years out of law school. This position smoothly transitioned him into impact investing.During the 2008 financial crisis, Sandeep took a monumental leap, leaving behind a promising legal career to start Elevar Equity with a clear-cut mission: to drive change and profits by investing in communities often ignored by traditional finance.Unlike many in the space, Elevar focuses not on the bottom of the pyramid but on a segment that has progressed economically yet remains underserved. This strategic pivot places Elevar in a league distinct from microfinance entities like BlueOrchard and ResponsAbility (featured in previous episodes of the podcast). Elevar is not debt-focused. Instead, it opts to provide equity to these emerging communities.Over the past 15 years, Elevar has expanded beyond microfinance into broader financial services, education, and healthcare, scaled over 50 companies, and supported more than 50 million 'entrepreneurial households'.Tune in to hear how Elevar's targeted focus on underbanked yet economically progressing communities has reshaped impact investing, distinguishing its approach from both mainstream venture capital and typical microfinance institutions.—Connect with SRI360°:Sign up for the free weekly email updateVisit the SRI360° PODCASTVisit the SRI360° WEBSITEFollow SRI360° on XFollow SRI360° on FACEBOOK—Key Takeaways:Intro (00:00)Sandeep's nomadic upbringing (03:25)Career path and transition to impact investing (14:44)Founding of Elevar Equity (26:26)The concept of entrepreneurial households (41:25)The Elevar Method: Investment approach and process (45:02)The importance of field immersion for investment strategy (51:42)Driving customer-centric impact through innovation (01:01:34)Challenges in measuring impact (01:10:49)Scaling the Elevar Method (01:13:45)Rapid fire questions (01:21:27)Contact details (01:25:15)—Additional Resources:Sandeep Farias LinkedInElevar Equity WebsiteElevar Equity LinkedInBlueOrchardresponsAbility

The phrase "Nobody is coming to save you" has become a powerful mantra in various contexts, emphasizing personal responsibility, resilience, and the need for self-reliance. Here's a detailed exploration of its implications and interpretations:Personal Responsibility and Self-Reliance Empowerment Through Responsibility: The idea that "nobody is coming to save you" underscores the importance of taking responsibility for one's own life. It suggests that waiting for external intervention or rescue is futile, and instead, individuals must actively engage in their own salvation or improvement. This concept is echoed in various self-help and motivational literature, where the emphasis is on personal growth through self-action 91015. Overcoming Trauma and Grief: In the context of the film "No One Will Save You," this phrase takes on a deeper meaning. The protagonist, Brynn, must confront her past trauma and grief alone, symbolizing that healing and forgiveness often require internal work rather than external validation or rescue 37. A Shift in Narrative: Traditionally, stories often revolved around a hero or savior figure. However, modern narratives, like those in "No One Will Save You," reflect a shift towards stories where characters must save themselves, highlighting a cultural move towards individualism and self-empowerment 23. Critique of Dependency: The phrase also critiques the societal expectation or desire for someone else to solve our problems. It challenges the notion of dependency on external figures or systems for salvation, whether in personal life, career, or societal issues 412. Facing Reality: Accepting that no one is coming to save you can be a harsh but necessary realization for personal growth. It forces individuals to face their realities, make decisions, and take actions that might be uncomfortable but are essential for progress 116. Therapeutic Implications: In therapy and personal development, this concept can be liberating. It encourages individuals to seek internal resources for coping with anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues, rather than relying solely on external support 4. Existentialism: This phrase resonates with existentialist thought, where individuals are seen as free agents responsible for giving meaning to their lives through their actions. It aligns with the idea that life's meaning is not given but created through personal endeavor 13. The Journey of Self-Discovery: The realization that one must save oneself can lead to a journey of self-discovery, where individuals explore their capabilities, desires, and the essence of their existence 17. Cultural and Societal ReflectionsPsychological and Emotional GrowthPhilosophical and Existential PerspectivesConclusionThe phrase "Nobody is coming to save you" serves as a stark reminder of the necessity for self-reliance and personal responsibility. It's not just about facing life's challenges alone but about recognizing the power within oneself to overcome them. This concept, while initially daunting, can lead to profound personal growth, resilience, and a deeper understanding of one's own strength and potential. Whether in literature, film, or personal life, this mantra encourages a shift from passive waiting to active engagement with one's own destiny.

Last month I had insightful conversations with two leaders in impact investing and sustainability. The first was with Rochus Mommartz, who is the CEO of responsAbility, and the other was with Jonathan Maxwell, who is the founding partner and CEO of Sustainable Development Capital. This episode is a special one which serves as a recap of the episodes from last month. It features a couple of key clips from each conversation in one place so you can jump around and get a feel for both the episode and the guest. Here's the full list of the guests featured today and the links to their full episode:Rochus Mommartz, the CEO of responsAbilityRochus Mommartz is a pioneer in impact investing who has spent decades creating opportunities for people in emerging markets. He played a key role in developing regulatory frameworks and microfinance models that enable financial inclusion and long-term growth for communities across Latin America, Africa, and Asia.My interview with Rochus was so long and so compelling that I ended up splitting it into two episodes. We talked about the evolution of microfinance because Rochus was in the field and literally had a front-row seat to the evolution of this market in its earliest days. We also discussed responsAbility's strategy for managing $5 billion in investments across 70+ countries, balancing social impact with strong financial returns.Full Interview: Part 1Part 2Jonathan Maxwell, founding partner and CEO of Sustainable Development Capital LLP (SDCL)In this conversation Jonathan Maxwell presented a bold approach to climate challenges by focusing on reducing waste and maximizing efficiency. Hope everyone agrees with us, to start the year fresh, willing to assume the responsibility of our life and of our actions. We finished the previous episode with the question: “What can we adapt into a relationship vs what are we willing to compromise in/for a relationship?”. And as we were mentioning, there is freedom in knowing the difference between adapting and compromising but we all know that the line between the 2 can get blurry and often, we take engagements or make promises that after a while seem to “inconvenience” us, even though at the time we agreed whole heartedly. In this episode, we explore the subtle yet powerful difference between blame and responsibility. Learn how understanding this distinction can transform your personal and professional life, empowering you to move forward with clarity and confidence. From personal anecdotes to actionable steps, we dive deep into the topic of responsibility and how to embrace a growth-mindset. Key Takeaways: Blame vs Responsibility: Blame often disempowers us, leading to feelings of inadequacy. In contrast, taking responsibility empowers us, opening the door for growth and learning. Recognizing the difference can drastically change how we approach challenges. Importance of Responsibility: For high achieving women, particularly those in leadership roles, embracing responsibility fosters growth, strengthens relationships, and establishes trust. It's not about guilt, but about learning, evolving, and setting an example for others. Embrace Responsibility by using one of the actionable steps outlined in the episode. Do a self-audit, pause & reflect, ask: "What did I do well?" and "What will I do differently next time?", develop a personal mantra, or seek accountability. Remember, taking responsibility is a sign of strength. It reflects self-awareness, growth mindset, and the commitment to continuous self-improvement. Particulate matter (fijnstof) is a key factor that deteriorates the air quality and in Eindhoven air quality can be improved. Transportation, large industries emit PM. Also agriculture contributes, as Brabant breeds more pigs than it has human inhabitants. Yet, citizens cannot only fingerpoint to companies, to farmers, to logistics. Meanwhile the energy crisis is not helping to reduce emissions from houses. Some households start to burn wood rather than to use gas for heating. So in fact, these are forces in opposite direction than towards green heating via renewable energy. Jean Paul Close promotes a transistion towards a sustainocracy. Clean air os part of that ambition. It's hard enough to figure out what you really want to accomplish in a year, let alone in your lifetime, and once you do figure it out, how do you actually show up as the best version of yourself? Will God answer your prayer if you don't end with, "In Jesus' name, Amen?" Learn what praying in the name of Jesus really means. I taught this week on the call of Abraham and the development of God's missionary call through the nation of Israel as they were responsible to communicate the truth of God to the cultures around them. They were given that great commission. The great commission didn't start in Matthew 28. It started with Abraham in Genesis 12—the first three verses there—Abraham, chosen by God to raise up a nation who would then be God's priests to the world so that they would be a blessing to all of the nations. They had a unique role in the great monotheistic religion. The Jews were supposed to reflect morality to the world. Israel was to witness to the name of God. When they talked about the name of God and witnessing to God's name, that does not mean that they were to let everybody know what they called God, "Yahweh." Their goal wasn't to cover the countryside with evangelists who just let everybody know what the right word for God was. It meant something different. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆https://linktr.ee/jacksonlibon------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------#realtalk #face #instagram #SDF #SYNDICAT #DESPUTES #amour #take #couple #dance #dancers #vogue #voguedqnce #garden #tiktok #psychology #beyou #near #love #foryou #money #ForYouPizza #fyp #irobot #theend #pups #TikToker #couplegoals #famille #relation #doudou #youtube #twitter #tiktokers #love #reeĺs #shorts #instagood #follow #like #ouy #oyu #babyshark #lilnasx #girl #happybirthday #movie #nbayoungboy #deviance #autotrader #trading #khan #academy #carter #carguru #ancestry #accords #abc #news #bts #cbs #huru #bluebook #socialmedia #whatsapp #music #google #photography #memes #marketing #india #followforfollowback #likeforlikes #a #insta #fashion #k #trending #digitalmarketing #covid #o #snapchat #socialmediamarketing

While pursuing his commercial license he considered buying a plane to lease back to United Flight Systems. In the last years, Dr. Bonhoeffer has come to recognize that the most common infectious disease on the planet is non-love. The vaccines that can help us to address the causes of this disease require us to look at human to human transmission not just on an organism level, but in the way that we affect each other in our state of consciousness, and the openness of our hearts. The vision of heart-based medicine is that all patients, healthcare providers and other open-hearted individuals generate a field of love enabling healing in an unprecedented way.TODAY we delve into his new book is “Dare to Care — How to Survive and Thrive in Today's Medical World.” Dr. Bonhoeffer founded Heart Based Medicine to help the many healthcare professionals who are exhausted, disillusioned, and suffering from PTSD in wake of the pandemic. heartbasedmedicine.org

New Episode UP!Hello Taekwondo lovers, welcome to a new interview in taekwondo passion. Our guest today is master Ehsan Davari from Iran.If you follow us from before, you probably know him as he helped us as an interpreter to interview Fatemeh Hesam. But I wanted to interview him as he has been a poomsae, sparring and gymnastics coach and competitor. At first he practiced gymnastics for many years. When he decided to move into taekwondo, he was already a gymnastics coach. But he made that move because in taekwondo he would have better opportunities to develop as an athlete.Master Eshan now is mostly focused on refereeing and as you'll notice from the interview, he is very dedicated to improving his practice and knowledge of the rules. He mentions that one of the most common mistakes athletes make at any level is to not know the rules, the best athletes have a deep understanding of the game rules. One of the most important things you can learn listening to this interview is about dedication and willingness to learn. Master Eshan is clear that one of the most important things for success is not to quit. So, don't miss the opportunity to learn from him and to listen to how taekwondo is in one of the countries with a greater tradition in our martial art..You can find the interview on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.Iran's taekwondo traditionAs you may know, Iran is a country with a very rich taekwondo tradition.Taekwondo is very popular in Iran, and also very competitive. The country organizes taekwondo professional leagues for sparring and poomsae. The league lasts for some months and you accumulate points as you participate and win matches every weekend. At the end of the league the athlete with most wins is the one who will win the league. IWhat do you think of this kind of competitions?I personally think that is a “fairer” way to find the best athletes in the country, but on the other side it can be very demanding for athletes to fight or compete every weekend. Also this kind of league can only work in countries where a lot of people practice taekwondo. A thing that with time is always more common. Here in my country Mexico, we have a lot of people practicing and going crazy about taekwondo events, and I've always imagined the same from Iran.Is it the same way in your country? You can tell us how it is in the comments. From gymnastics to taekwondoImagine that you are a really talented gymnastics athlete. You are among the best in your region and you are even starting to coach other athletes. Why should you move as a teenager to try in another sport? A sport that you have never practiced before. This was what happened to Master Eshan, he was a very talented athlete but his city is very small and they didn't have the facilities which allow him to continue growing. They didn't have even the most basic equipement. That lack of equipment didn't allow him to compete in all the necessary events to be scouted as a talent. So he decided not to stop and to move to another sport. And that's the way he came into taekwondo. It is also interesting that some of his first taekwondo training partners were his gymnastics students. But he didn't care about that and as he was a person with a lot of athleticism coming from gymnastics he developed really fast in taekwondo.Another interesting thing Master Ehsan shares is that he was always the first who wanted to help his taekwondo Master. He was always early to class so if something was needed, for example cleaning the mats, he would always volunteer to that. The taekwondo journeyTo train in a small town can make things difficult but not impossible. Master Eshan was first more oriented to the sparring side of the sport. But you know you can train sparring alone, but it is better always to have a team and training partners. So, for Master Ehsan, a way to be more competitive was poomsae. In which you are more able to train alone. And in a similar way he is now more focused in refereeing than in coaching. He shares that coaching is a very rewarding experience, but for many aspects of coaching you don't depend only on you to excel. So he prefered to focus on the refereeing part now. So, if he has to travel to an event he only has to focus on giving his best. But on the other side he has a responsability. He shares with us that he has talked with some coaches about the challenges of being a referee or a coach. If you make a mistake as a coach maybe you can redeem learning from it and giving the best for your athlete in the future. But if you make a mistake as a referee the mistake will always be there. What do you prefer? How to prepare for a competition as a referee?Every athlete has to prepare the best for a competition. The same is valid for referees. You have to be at your best for every match, apart from his normal preparation attending seminars and practicing. The night before a tournament, Master Ehsan reads and studies all the ruleset and practices for two to three hours. No matter that he already knows the rules, he make that extra effort to perform his bests as a referee.More on the interviewLearn more from training and refereeing in the interview.Master Eshan gave us some advice to improve at poomsae and refereeing. So, definitely is worth listening to him.Links to the interview below.

The climate crisis is no longer a matter of ‘if', but ‘when'. Yet, so little has been done to tackle this. There is a lack of conversation, exploration, and understanding of how to support, fund and scale high-impact climate solutions. Moderated by Yossef Zahar, Climate Finance Advisor at the Stockholm Environment Institute, today's discussion will unpack how climate financing can be a catalyst to turn a weakening economy around and what it takes for investors and businesses to commit to climate action. What makes a man? That is a big question. Many people ask that all that time. There are Quora topics on what a person has to do to be a man. Yet the answer is actually pretty straight forward. With all the navel-gazing many do over this topic, the answer can be summed up on a comparison. You have one man who is in his parent's basement he is the stereotypical guy who just is aimless and has no drive. He really doesn't have a why. Why should he? Now you have another guy who is in his apartment. He may be paying too much for it. But it is his. He has some furniture but it is far from fully furnished. Yet this guy gets up every day and leaves with a purpose. Now you may say that yeah he has bills to pay. And with that, you are partially correct. The difference between these two examples is besides one being aloof and aimless and the other has a purpose is that the man who lives by himself has a sense of responsibility. But why is this important? Gives a man his identity A man who drives a truck is a truck driver. A man who has a family he is a husband and a father. If he is making sure people are safe he is a policeman or security officer. Each of these titles has a particular set of responsibilities. Those responsibilities are what help that man identify who he is and how he fits into society. Has a sense of purpose With that purpose, a man is comfortable in his spot in society. His interests may change and with that, he can always switch where he fits in because he knows his purpose. The only thing that changes in that is the tools he uses to help his fellow men. With a sense of responsibility, men know that they are being helpful and providing. Men have to have something to do. That need is ingrained in us. IF we don't have that “To-do” We become depressed and like the guy in the basement. An elderly man quickly goes downhill when his spouse dies because she is his responsibility. He lives to make sure she is alright. When she dies he often becomes lost. That is why it is good for an elderly man to find another woman to marry. HE can pick up the mantel of providing for her. It is what drives him He is a man with a purpose. Men who know what they have to do become a take-charge kind of guy. That guy is in every man he just has to have the drive to engage in his purpose. Without the drive, he is moody and withdrawn. When he has a purpose his confidence is up and becomes more outgoing While a man with a sense of purpose and has responsibilities feel more complete they also know they can handle the anxiety that everyday assaults them with. There are fires that come up but he can put them out. How do you find responsibility? Take charge of something. It may be as minuscule as the trash but if you start with one small step you will take another step and it will be for a larger chunk of responsibility. Ask your boss for a task. If it is your first time it may be a small task, but that should be welcomed fully. As you tackle that task you will get better. Be ok with failing and if you do fail to own your dirt and don't try to hide it. Fess up to dropping the ball and tell the boss how you are making up for it. Have a plan. If you need help figuring out your purpose, you can sign up for coaching with me. We can do a connect session and find out how I can help you

PREVIOUSLY ON URBAN FANTASY: Rachel Lin Smith was just a shy teenage girl until she was turned into a vampire against her will by an evil serial killing monster. Escaping from his perverted clutches, she was able to put a stop to his reign of terror with the help of her geeky friends, who have been working hard to re-acclimate her to her quiet suburban life. Her friends include the most popular girl in school Tanya Daytton (Daughter of the mayor and real name Shawna Dixon) and her childhood best friend, the pudgy and geeky Ian Fletcher. The only thing her two best friends have in common is their love for her. Her other friends include the smart-mouthed loser geek Andrew Grezzy, the cowardly and fussy Bilal Valenca, the gentle giant genius Charlie Gordon, the military obsessed Jason Stride, the sports fan with his brothers car Mike Jones, and Tanya’s best friend Alice. Last year they saved their city not just from a mass murdering vampire, but also an apocalyptic bee swarm brought about by the machinations of a time traveler from the past, Tanya’s own father, trying to jump further into the future. They were able to stop him before he could finish his jump, stranding him in their time period. While they settled back into their old lives, however, Erika Sannik and Jon Mason were settling into new lives, having escaped across the border from a government lab in the United States. A lab where they were subjected to experiments that gave them amazing powers. Experiments involving Synesthesia. It didn’t take long for Rachel and Erika to clash, discovering a den of child vampires and disagreeing on how to deal with it. While a solution was being decided on, Rachel’s brother Jacob lost a friend to the vampires, and almost got turned himself were it not for the heroic actions of his sister. Lo abbiamo chiesto a Stefania Farina e a Rossella Sobrero che risponderanno a queste e altre domande in questo nuovo episodio del podcast. re·spon·si·bil·i·ty/rəˌspänsəˈbilədē/nounthe state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone.synonyms: authority, control, power, leadership"a job with greater responsibility" This word "responsibility" plays a massive role in our lives. We tend to push things aside and tell ourselves we will deal with things later, but what are we really doing when we push things away? Are we just procrastinating? Or are we creating habits that change who we are? I've made tons of decisions in my life that have helped me get to where I am now, but there are three key decisions I've made that have been drastic to the life and career I have. I was honored to speak in front of senior business majors at Incarnate Word University in hope of preparing them for the real world and to let them know that anything is possible, as long as you believe in yourself. Lisa Carberry, a modern day mystic, offers you an exploration of the concept of Becoming One with Self and One with All. During our conversation Lisa discusses perspectives, filters and states of being at length as well as the role of education and beliefs.   Through observation you can recognize that you are bigger than what you can see, feel or touch. This leads to greater personal responsibility and ultimately empowers you to raise your vibration and energy.   Lisa was featured in The Spiritual Voice Exclusive interview series which you can get through our app at http://thespiritiualvoice.com/smart/ . True to herself each word is carefully spoken. She also talks about God, gurus, love and your creative potential.   Listen to this interview for a mind opening discussion of spirituality.   Technique / Practice for Direct Experience   Lisa provides us an easy technique to shift our energy which is to work with a gratitude journal. In this journal write everything for which you are grateful for, ranging from a simple experience at the grocery store to more significant events in our life. We can also express gratitude without using the journal.   Lisa then shares that we can use song, dance and music to shift our energies. Dance like no one is watching.   She also has a play list that she uses in her times of emergencies. The first songs are uplifting and empowering. This is followed by a series of musical pieces which stir up and allows her to cry. After these tracks she uses music that allows to build up more positive energy. The final tracks are Whitney Houston ‘One Moment in Time' and ‘The Greatest Love of All'. You can make your own play list to experience the emotions that are wanting to move through you.   After using this method of working with music notice how your energy has shifted by observing where you started and finished as a result of going through the process.   'Havens Above' theme music taken from 'Aural Architecture' by alucidnation. www.alucidnation.co.uk / www.fabermusic.com / www.interchill.com .   If you're interested in buying CDs and/or digital then you could use the 'gift' facility via BandCamp:http://alucidnation.bandcamp.com/album/aural-architecture .   To learn more about The Spiritual Voice and our global community visit www.thespiritualvoice.com .
