England fell short from a winnable position for the fifth time in six matches against a rejuvenated Wallabies side, while Wales slipped to new lows with a record-equalling tenth consecutive defeat. A low dose of adderall and the unexamined life… I'm listening! Kate is asked to explain what POOG is, while Jacqueline's zealousness is often mistaken for sarcasm. The cord is not the problem, but the annuals aren't what they used to be. No flashlight in the eye, nor in the ear. Who'd want a girl like that to get sick? Water for wellness and the perfect protein. The presence of Eggo Waffles and Raisin Bran, when the family doesn't integrate the gifted lifestyle change. In this episode of the Real World Entrepreneurship Podcast, esteemed hosts Alan Clarke and Bhairav Patel engage in a conversation surrounding the crucial importance of self-care within the realm of entrepreneurship. In a world where we value and promote relentless productivity, self-nurturing is too often brushed aside. The reality is, our business landscape serves as fertile grounds for individuals seeking to invest their spirit and mental energy in the fruits of their own labour, with dedication often veering towards self-neglect.The journey of the business mastermind is fraught with challenges that weigh heavy on mind and spirit. In the pursuit of success, the well-being of individuals is often lost in the equation. However, true success relies on the entrepreneur's ability to extend the same kindness to oneself as they do to their venture. Recognition of this importance bolsters emotional and mental wellbeing, and serves to rejuvenate the human spirit at the heart of the venture, enhancing the chance of sustainable success in business.

“I view the finish line area kind of like my kitchen of my house, you know, you've just finished something incredibly hard. Go and help yourself to a burger that's cooking on the barbecue and go help yourself to a beer in the fridge.”It's always great to have Myke Labelle on the podcast and the most recent experience was no different. It's Myke's 4th time on the show (despite my claim otherwise during the interview) and it was great to hear about the new 50-mile course and how he had a chance to get out on the course a bit more than in previous years. I also enjoyed chatting about my experience, and it's always just a fun conversation when he's on. He is so passionate about the event and celebrating our amazing sport. It's contagious!“What was really cool this year too, and I saw lots of video of this is the amount of spectators on course this year. I don't, again, because I'm stuck in my little bubble, you know, I don't get to see all that stuff. That was so cool to see the number of people dressed up in dinosaur costumes and stuff like that.”This race is so much fun. I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a challenging September run in 2024 make your way to Finlayson Arm and see what Myke and the Coastline crew are up to. You will be so happy you did. Interview by Kris PetersMelbourne metal outfit Munt could easily lay claim to being one of the most brutal acts this country has produced. Their music is frenetic, dangerous, aggressive and strangely beautiful - to the point that despite the visceral carnage going on around you, you can't help but be swept up in the sonic musical landscape as it materialises and then disintegrates right before your ears. They are a formidable live machine - as anyone who has been in the same room as them with a stage anywhere near the vicinity can attest - but seldom does a band capture the feel and essence of the live arena as meticulously as these guys.As if to prove the point, Munt today drop their third EP Pain Ouroboros, five carefully crafted slabs of musical mayhem that obliterate the lines of traditional metal, in the process morphing into something much more sinister.HEAVY caught up with frontman Mothlord earlier this week to talk about the EP, starting with the last single released Apostate Sermon."An apostate, by the dictionary definition, is someone who defies or rejects religion in a political way of thinking," he measured. "And obviously a sermon is... I guess it's like a paradox. A sermon would be something you think of in a religious context , but instead it's a sermon for people who've shed that skin so to speak. The opening line is "my brethren I sing a song of joyful wrath", so it's kind of a call to arms and a message for like minded people."Apostate Sermon follows on from the first single The Vengeful March, so we press Mothlord on if those two tracks are a good sonic representation of the EP as a whole."Oh, yeah," he replied without thought. "I think we very intentionally chose those two songs to do music videos for. Like I said, Apostate's a bit more of the blackened epic sound, whereas The Vengeful March is a little bit more in the class of hard hitting, grindy sound of things. It's a very good representation of what we're about at the moment."In the full interview. Mothlord goes through each track individually and explains what they were going for with that particular song and what it's about, the title Pain Ouroborus and what it means, their sound and where it comes from, upcoming shows and more.
On the Money Café this week, Alan Kohler and Stephen Mayne revel in the Socceroo's victory over Denmark at the World Cup - and at AGM questions that made the press. They also autopsy the Victorian election and provide recommendations to the Liberal Party, cast a cold eye over house prices and welcome the Lowe apology. Also: what to ask at AGMs, how to be part of the background noise at the Money Café (and should it go on the road?), the role of capital looking for a home, honeymoon rates, a $5 million limit on super and more.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Revelling in the unprecedented 1st half try scoring frenzy against the hapless Bunnies, our hosts presume that Zac Lomax must be listening to the Podcast, clearly subscribing his lighter hair shade to their influence. They discuss Cranky Cody's Red Mist, Wayne Bennett's Stockholm Syndrome, the unidentified Dragon's heroic staffer, and the lunacy of the Dragon's fan base, all without pausing for breath. Obviously the Vlandy's dalliance with Britain's blue bloods gets discussed, as does Kalyn Ponga and his strawberry milkshakes. if you're still reading - there's lots more to like! ”Is Mick Potter God?” ”The Pros and Cons of Noddy” ”Madame Bovary…Ulysses….Tristram Shandy…..things get a little literary…” ”the Atlassian Canterbury Bankstown Meth Lab/Centre Of Excellence” seems to sum up Rugby League as we know it. GREGORY GALLOWAY chats to Paul Burke about his new novel JUST THIEVES, identity, fatalism and existential questions in the noir novel, Chandler, Cain and Get Carter.JUST THIEVES: Rick and Frank are recovering addicts and accomplished house thieves whose partnership extends beyond their professional lives. They do not steal randomly they steal according to order, hired by a mysterious handler. The jobs run routinely until they're tasked with taking a seemingly worthless trophy: an object that generates interest and obsession out of proportion to its apparent value. Just as the robbery is completed, the two are involved in a freak car accident that sets off a chain of events and Frank disappears with the trophy. As Rick tries to find Frank, he is forced to confront his past, upending both his livelihood and his sense of reality. The narrative builds steadily into a powerful and shocking climax. Revelling in its con-artistry and double-crosses, Just Thieves is a nail-biting, noir-ish exploration of the working lives of two unforgettable crooks and the hidden forces that rule and ruin their lives. GREGORY GALLOWAY is the author of the novels The 39 Deaths of Adam Strand and the Alex Award-winning As Simple As Snow. His short stories have appeared in the Rush Hour and Taking Aim anthologies. Welcome back to Don’t Alert the Stans! For this week’s episode, Sope starts with a #RespectingLegends tribute to 70s soul singer Betty Wright, who sadly passed away from cancer at the age of 66. Is it fair to call Kehlani a pop artist? A debate between Eden and Sope ensues as they review her new album ‘It Was Good Until It Wasn’t’. Kicking off the news agenda this week is Afro Nation who at last released an official statement confirming that consumers will not be able to get a refund for the event that was set to take place this year in Portugal. Good news is in the air for Doja Cat. The remix of ‘Say So’ topped the Billboard Hot 100 last week, becoming both Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj’s first no.1 single. Unfortunately, this milestone comes attached to controversy as Nic rightly points out that the song was produced by the disgraced Dr Luke. Rounding out the episode this week is Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, who came together for the best edition of the #VERZUS battle to date. Revelling in the power of black women and the majesty of the neo-soul genre. Not one to miss! Sope’s Listens for the Week: • Kehlani - It Was Good Until It Wasn’t • Jill Scott – Rolling Hills • Jill Scott - I Keep/Still Here • Chloe x Halle - Do It Nicolas’s Listens for the Week: • Melii Feat Smoove’L - BDE • WurlD – AFROSOUL • Trippie Redd Feat. MA chats with former leading figure of WImbledon's "Crazy Gang" of the 1980's and 1990's, John Fashanu. Part of the now defunct London club's famous F.A. Cup triumph in 1988, Fashanu has led a fascinating an often controversial life, which has seen him go from one of the hardest players in the English game, to a regular fixture on our TV screens which included the former England international presenting the hit show Gladiators over twenty years ago.Key to the development of Fashanu's character, a man who many have described as a 'bully", is his complex childhood. Having been placed into a Barnardo's home with his older brother Justin as a baby, the pair soon found themselves in the Foster care of a rural white family in Norfolk, where being the only black kids in town made them targets for racial prejudice. With this came an ambition to succeed however, and having followed in the footsteps of his often envied older brother who became Britain's first £1 million pound black footballer, Fashanu found his path through the beautiful game. Revelling in the unconventional methods of the ruthless but equally successful Wimbledon side, Fashanu became a household name in the English game, with his ability to intimidate being as responsible as his technical gifts. Throughout this career however, there was something that lay much deeper for "Fash". With his brother becoming the world's first professional footballer to come out as gay, bigotry and hate was par for the course, in a game that refused to recognise such a sexual leaning. Admittedly playing his part in societies ostracisation of his brother, Fashanu was rocked in 1998 when the once brightest prospect in English football was found hanged in a garage in Shoreditch. With maturity and age, Fashanu opens up on his regrets about past events in his life in this episode of The Michael Anthony Show, and also delves into a career that lives long in the memory of football fans worldwide. His career in entertainment is also discussed, as is footballs still dubious relationship with homosexuality. Series: Summer Psalms. Text: Psalm 148. Preacher: Jesse Baker.
This episode celebrates the music of one of the greatest living artists on planet Earth. Across 5 decades and 9 studio albums, Bjork has gifted us with music that is utterly disarming and ethereal. Music that defies categorisation. The music coupled with her hyper creative presentation of it with fashion and technology sets her lightyears apart. A pioneer. A true visionary. Prepare to have your senses stunned.

How does this change the way we feel about his contract, and should we be worried about his long-term future with the team? Kirsty Young's castaway this week is the comedian, Sarah Millican. Her every woman yet no-holds-barred style of comedy has brought her sell-out tours and several of her own highly successful TV series. Revelling in normality and drawing on the difficult, intimate and often excruciating moments of being human, she dares to say what most of us are thinking, only she's much funnier. A Geordie, born in South Shields, her dad was an engineer down the mines and her mum was a hairdresser. They encouraged their daughter in her storytelling and performing even though her childhood shyness meant she'd recite her poetry from behind the living room curtains. Later it was pain that first propelled her onto the stage when a broken early marriage provided the catalyst she needed to find the courage to confront the glaring judgement of the audience's gaze. Her rise was then rapid. Within four years she was awarded the Best Newcomer prize at the Edinburgh Fringe. She says, "People come along and think, 'oh she's being too rude'. They don't realise I'm just like this at home. People think I'm prim and proper at home but I'm not - I'm just me transplanted onto the stage". Producer: Cathy Drysdale.
