For generations, the only sounds at a Major League ballpark were the crowd, the crack of the bat, or the slap of a ball smacking a glove. Then in 1941, we got organs, and an historical journey began. With music, fans were more engaged than ever... and in 1970, one woman joined the Chicago White Sox and brought her musical skill and razor wit to the keys. Thanks to Nancy Faust, inventor of the walk-up song, baseball changed forever. Learn with us, laugh with us, deal with fluctuating E with us. We've grabbed some of the best moments of the show for ya! - How about THAT Mariners weekend? - Julio's impressive series and decision to drop out of the all-star game - Is that dream trade-scenario looking more realistic? - We begin our Husky One Series with the voice of the Dawgs, Tony Castricone! - It's Trade Deadline Month Day (again...)!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Headlines and a special edition of COACH BUCKY! It's Home Run Derby day and Coach Bucky has some serious home run derby experience, so what advice does he have for Cal Raleigh? :30- Julio's incredible weekend. Julio pulled out of the All-star game on Friday, choosing to take the days off and rest and it may have been the best decision for him as he had his best three games of the season so far. Did social media and negative Mariners fans play a part in his decision or did he just do it for himself? :45- We want to send you to Japan to celebrate Ichiro's induction into the MLB Hall of Fame. Husky One Series: TONY CASTRICONE (UW PxP) helps us kick off our week of looking at the 2025 UW Football Team, one position group at a time. We begin with a look at the Wide receivers and running backs- Jonah Coleman, Giles Jackson, Denzel Boston and more. :30- It's trade Deadlines Month Day (again…)! We already discussed the D Backs rumors, but another one has popped up! It appears that a lot of teams have been inquiring about Louis Robert Jr from the White Sox and one of them is the Mariners. How would a trade look and what hurdles would we have to clear? He's owed about $7 million for the rest of the season. Do you even want him on the roster or in the clubhouse? By all accounts, he is unmotivated and only relies on his natural talents. Is he any good? Will he actually help the team? Can he get back to the 2023 version of himself? What would a trade for him actually cost you? :45- We wrap up the show with one last thing! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Baseball man… It's a tale of two series. We get swept in New York and talked on Friday about how we just didn't want to get swept in Detroit as well, facing the best team in baseball and instead, we did the sweeping! The Mariners offense put up 35 runs in the Motor City and put on a show for three straight games, to head into the all-star break on a high note and Julio shined the brightest batting .500 for the series with 3 home runs. :30- Mariners Morning After The Mariners shined in Detroit and were able to get back what they lost in New York. Yesterday's game was the Mariners season in a nutshell- leaving runners on base, gifting runs on errors, solo home runs and more. :45- The MLB Draft began on Sunday and the Mariners were given a gift with the 3rd pick- a choice between Cade Anderson and Ethan Holliday. They went with Anderson- the LSU star with an extremely high ceiling. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's Green Jacket time! Before we draft our home run derby participants, we have some hardware to hand out and has this ever happened before? :30- ABCs of the Mariners - H is for homers: Cal Raleigh has hit 38 of them in the first half of the season- an absolutely historic 1st half. - I is for interchangeable parts: Jurrangelo Cjintje can throw with both arms REALLY well and he was THE story to come out of the Futures game. - J is for Jewel and by all accounts, we got the crown jewel of the draft in Cade Anderson. :45- Word on the street is that the D Backs are selling and that opens up a world of possibilities! Emmanuel Berbari takes you through the thrilling highlights as the Yankees walk-off the Seattle Mariners in extra innings to sweep the season series at Yankee Stadium.
The Mariners blow a 5-0 lead in New York and get swept by the Yankees in feels like the most crushing loss of the season. We disagree that the loss was “embarrassing” or “pathetic,” it just straight up sucked. It seemed like we had everything going in our favor, 5 runs on the board, Woo with a no-hitter into the 8th inning and then all of the things that should have been dependable weren't. :30- Mariners Morning After The Yankees overcome a 5-run deficit to walk it off in the 10th and sweep the M's. Was Andres Munoz tipping his pitches? : 45- ICYMI: Scott Hunter joined us on Monday ahead of this weekend's draft. Does he feel pressure to nail this draft having the 3rd overall pick? Who might the M's be looking at at 3rd? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Headlines and Oh no! Now last night's loss sucks even more… We have proof that Munoz was, in fact, tipping pitches. How were no adjustments made? The Yankees couldn't have made it more obvious that they knew what Munoz was throwing and Cal knew it and talked to Munoz, but it continued. :30- ABCs of the Mariners - F is for Fielding- does Cal deserve some criticism for missing the tag at home? - G is for Goldsmith- you have to be able to mention a no-hitter during a broadcast, it's part of the job. :45- We've got 12 days til Seahawks Training Camp- has the offensive line improved? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We cover the top 8 sports stories of the day in the OCHO 1. Woo takes a no-hitter into the 8th 2. Mariners blow a 5-run lead 3. How do they bounce back from this? 4. It's All-star weekend! 5. The MLB Draft is Friday 6. Wimpleton! 7. 12 Days til Seahawks Training Camp 8. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Bucky's X's and O's- the big story from last night has become tipping pitches. Andres Munoz was tipping his pitches and the Yankees were very obviously picking up on it and yes, it's legal. So what's the difference between tipping pitches, sign-stealing and straight up cheating? We discuss. :30- The Mariners are in Detroit to close out the 1st half of the season before the all-star break. How are we feeling about this team being 3 games over .500 heading into the break, especially after last night? :45- We close out the show and the week with Booze News.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What a brutal loss for the Seattle Mariners... This was unacceptable.
Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers MLB Pick Prediction by Tony T. Mariners at Tigers 7PM ET—Luis Castillo gets the start for Seattle. Castillo made eighteen starts with an ERA of 3.31 with WHIP of 1.22. The right hander fans 20.2% with 7.4% walks. Ground balls sit at 41.2% with 1.05 home runs per nine innings. Tarik Skubal will start for Detroit.
Emmanuel Berbari takes you through the key highlights of the Yankees win over the Seattle Mariners to take their win streak to 3 and win the series against the Mariners.
The Mariners lose in the Bronx again and while the offense had a better performance, the pitching staff had another rough outing giving up 9 runs. And there's the oddities of baseball- the Red Sox get rid of their best offensive player and go on a 6-game win streak while the Dodgers are on a 6-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Mariners haven't lost any ground to the Astros in the AL West since they got swept by the Guardians, but it sure would be nice to get a W in NY today and gain a little bit of ground! :30- Mariners Morning After The M's lost to the Yankees 9-6 and had a couple bright offensive moments, but couldn't contain the Yankees defensively. :45- Deion Sanders spoke to the media yesterday and apparently the disparities of college football are concerning to him… now. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Headlines and Yay! It's Trade Deadline Month Day! Today we are heading to Baltimore to analyze the possibilities of the Mariners trading for Ryan O'Hearn, so what would be standing in our way? Will he be available? Baltimore is having a massively disappointing season considering the expectations and they will wait until the last minute to decide if they're really out of it, then the flood gates may open. Is he a difference maker? Would it still be a 1st base platoon situation? Not sure if that's worth it. And how would he fare at T-Mobile Park? The move doesn't seem to qualify as a splash move and if we only get one of those then… What if we paired him with Felix Bautista? :30- MLB Allstar festivities begin this weekend with the Futures game on Saturday, the Draft on Sunday and the Home Run Derby on Monday. Then on Tuesday, there's an extra element of excitement for the All-star game- they will be using the Challenge system. :45- The 2025 Seahawks aren't getting a lot of love nationally. So, what will it take for this team to exceed expectations? It's all about the defense. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
MITCH CANHAM (Oregon State Head Baseball Coach) joins the show ahead of the MLB Draft to give us his thoughts on the draft from a coach's perspective and some insight on the Beaver player's that could be getting drafted. Aiva Arquette could potentially be a Mariner with the 3rd pick, so what kind of player would we be getting? How pumped would Mitch be to see Arquette in a Mariners uniform? We get Mitch's thoughts on the Mariners and the impact of sports in Seattle. :30- ABCs of the Mariners - C is for Cole Young who got his first major league home run last night- how does Bucky feel about the rookie so far? - D is for DJ LeMahieu who was DFA'd by the Yankees- do we have any interest in him as a Mariner? - E is for egregious- was it egregious for Devers to not show up to infield drills when Will Clark took the time to come help :45- Caitlin Clark is flat out having a rough year… See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Atlanta Braves find themselves in yet another tailspin after being swept at home by the Baltimore Orioles, but this bender might just spell the end of their hopes of turning their season around with ample time to dig out of the hole they find themselves in. Grant McAuley discusses yet another challenging week as the series losses are once again piling up for the Braves. Not only are the losses mounting on the field, but Spencer Schwellenbach followed Chris Sale to the 60-day injured list, leaving Atlanta devoid of enough capable starters to field a rotation -- something that had been a strength for the club. Add that to the continued offensive struggles and the Braves are once again sinking in the standings and unable to put together enough offense to win consistently. Nick Green of FanDuel Sports joins the show to discuss the woes of the Atlanta lineup, how it went from one of the best in baseball to one of the worst in under two years, whether or not a new hitting coach with a new message and new philosophy was the right call, and what, if anything the club can do to once again reach its potential. (28:19). We'll also take a trip around the big leagues for some history making moments from the week that was for Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh and Dodgers great Clayton Kershaw, run down the National and American League rosters for the All-Star Game, and have a visit with Melanie Newman of the Baltimore broadcast team (57:38). From The Diamond airs live on 92-9 The Game in Atlanta on Sundays throughout baseball season. You can also subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
