Join Crystal as she interviews Jennifer Fox from Dragonoilia! Crystal and Jen talk about loss of family members to addiction, Sober Curious Movement, Learning how to live life sober and setting goals for yourself that change your life! About Jennifer: After miscarrying twice in 2015, losing her mom to lung cancer in 2016 and separating from her abusive husband in 2017 Jennifer Fox headed into 2018 knowing she needed to file for divorce, start over and create a happier life. But 2018 had something different in mind. After having a full hysterectomy in October and finalizing her divorce in November, she was sure 2019 would be better. And then she lost her baby brother Justin to a heroin overdose on December 5th, just 6 days after becoming legally divorced at 45 years old.In 2019 Jennifer found herself in a rapid downward spiral to nowhere, drinking at least one bottle of wine a day, sometimes two, and sometimes topping that off with a "nightcap". By the fall she was quite literally drowning in grief over the loss of her brother, drinking like a raging alcoholic and had also put on 40 pounds. So she made a pact with herself. Instead of doing her annual Dry January, she was going to give up drinking for an entire year. In addition, she was going to become a runner, something she had dreamt of for many, many years, because runners embodied everything she wanted to be: dedicated, disciplined, fit and able to tackle hard things. To do this she committed to run one 5K every month until she could run the 3.1 miles without stopping to walk and feeling like she might die, her first being the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving, 2019.  2020 started off awesome, with the 3 day personal development conference for women created by Rachel Hollis, and at least 6 months of races on the calendar. By the time the global pandemic hit she was down 20 pounds, betting better at running each week and feeling incredibly strong in her sobriety. Though most people will find this hard to believe, Jennifer firmly states that despite COVID and the million dollar loss in her business because of it, 2020 was the best year of her adult life. Why? Tune in to hear her incredible story of loss, resilience, courage and authenticity, along with where her relationship is with alcohol today. You can find Jennifer on IG and online https://www.dragonolia.com/You Can Watch on YOUTUBE:Making the Change Sobriety Journal & Activity Book (Discount Code STAYSOBER)https://makingthechange.store/Are you enjoying the Sober Onions Podcast? If so, your Donation or Sponsorship will help continue on the message of sobriety. All funds go to Podcast website, editing fees, hosting fees and media expenses.https://soberonions.com/sponsors-patrons/Your donation can change the lives of those struggling with addiction or those trying to maintain Sobriety. We are a community that grows by sharing and supporting each other.Thank you for your Support~ CrystalFOLLOW on IG: sober.onionsFacebook: Sober OnionsTik Tok: Sober OnionsListen on Spotify & Apple ITuneshttps://soberonions.com/

Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan return this week to have some scares passed down to them with a review of Hereditary. And now we’re going to pass those down to you. Is it true it’s one of the best horror films since The Exorcist? What exactly is “elevated horror” and does it even matter? Will Toni Collette get the Oscar she deserves? All of these questions and more are at least entertained in this week’s review. It’s a pretty jam-packed episode this week. We’ve got your TV fix as Chris talks about the first part of the new season of Arrested Development while Dylan reflects on the second season of American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. Plus, a double dose of HBO as we talk about this week’s episode of Westworld and Jennifer Fox’s HBO film, The Tale. Dylan also saw the new Jackass film, Action Point, and we both discuss the newest Paul Schrader film, First Reformed. There are a bunch of bad Blu-rays this week, so maybe save your money? We dabble through some of the news but mostly it’s trailer talk as the new Suspiria trailer and Widows trailer demanded our attention. Plus, there’s a little bit of White Boy Rick in there too. To get the story of the films and themes that shaped this year’s festival, Rob and Geoff speak with IndieWire’s Senior Film Critic, David Ehrlich, who just finished up a week in Park City. Ehrlich talks about the most buzzed about films from this year’s slate (including Josephine Decker's Madeline's Madeline, Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You, and Jennifer Fox’s The Tale), why the absence of an “early awards frontrunner” isn’t a bad thing, and Netflix and Amazon’s quiet week.
