Surprise, surprise, Poptarts: we have MANY opinions this week, including our thoughts on the Man of the Hour and his perfect flip in the lake. This week, we over-discuss: Calm down, Rory! Hamburgers before school Gilmore-verse sibling theory She's gonna butt in anyway What Jess actually needs This is hell He's 17, he's fine An appalling amount of food Yes of course he would do this Jess is Lorelai Lorelai has not earned this Holy cow, Luke's such a good guy Teenage containment Paris as a nasty person is so good The hill Lindsey will die on The reason her life turned out the way it did Make your own coffee Rachel vs. the joke And ask some questions: How early is it? Where does Lane get all this money for her CDs? What are you making? Can you just stop? What's your favorite danish? Do you think Jess took the bridge money? Do you think this is the first time Jess and Luke have met? Send us your thoughts or just say hi (good vibes only!) at gilmoredpodcast@gmail.com or follow us on Insta @gilmoredpod. We begin the 9th Annual Month Of Bev by chatting about a cult classic that features punks, Reaganomics and odd automobiles. Repo Man was Alex Cox's debut (Sid And Nancy came 2 years later) and it was also very early in Emilio Estevez's film career. The man who would basically stop acting in motion pictures about 15 years later is just okay here. He's joined in this sci-fi/comedy by veteran character actors like Tracey Walter and Harry Dean Stanton. The movie still touches Bev's Gen-X heart, despite a clunky middle section and an unsatisfying ending. This is a weird flick, but you have to admire that everyone involved embraces the weirdness. Well, maybe not Stanton. So drive your Chevy Malibu across the country---no matter what danger the trunk contains---and follow the code as our 560th pieces through Repo Man. To Be Clear...: Gary Oldman's co-star in Sid & Nancy is Chloe Webb (playing Nancy Spungen). Also, Sy Richardson WAS indeed one of the writers of Mario Van Peebles' Posse. Since repo men spend so much of of their day waiting in cars, they could use Sparkplug Coffee. You can snag some of that with a onetime 20% discount. Use our "HYES" promo code to keep bucks in your billfold. Go to "sparkplug.coffee/hyes". Talk to us with a tweet-x (@moviefiend51 and @bevellisellis) or an email (haveyoueverseenpodcast@gmail.com). This week we talk about the mysterious death of Nancy Spungen and Sid Vicious with the help from our friend Chris Hahn from the band Old Cross. In the late 70's Sid Vicious allegedly murdered his gf Nancy Spungen and to a lot of people this came as no surprise and was basically a solved case from the start but was it really that straight forward? We start the story with a little background into the Punk scene in London and the rise and downfall of the Sex pistols then we get into the last months of both Nancy and sid, was this really as simple as "it was Sid in the bathroom with a knife" or was there more going on? On episode 142 of The AwardsWatch Podcast, AwardsWatch Executive Editor Ryan McQuade is joined by Editor in Chief Erik Anderson, as well as AwardsWatch contributors Dan Bayer and Josh Parham to give deep with their thoughts about Elvis, give out their Top 3 music biopics, answer some listener questions and play a game. Before they dive into Baz Luhrmann's latest film, Ryan and Erik give a shout out to the AwardsWatch team, who have been working hard this entire Emmy season with reviews and interviews you can find on the website daily. Please continue to read everyone's fantastic work weekly, as we will have more coming within the next couple of weeks. Transitioning over to the conversation about Elvis, Erik and Dan speak to what work for them about in this film about the king of rock ‘n' roll, while Ryan and Josh have some reservations about this film. Each host gave detailed, respectable opinions on a film that has divided some film critics and audiences, but has become a box office success this past weekend. After they speak on their thoughts about Elvis, the group breakdown their Top 3 music biopics and what makes them their favorites. Some of the films included were I'm Not There, Sid & Nancy, Coal Miner's Daughter, Get On Up, Amadeus, and many more. Considering this is a bountiful sub-genre with plenty of films to select from, this was a conversation that covered a lot of ground. In this week's listener question segment, the hosts discuss Austin Butler's Oscar chances for Elvis, as well as give out there ranking of Baz Luhrmann's filmography. They then give their selections of which comedians they would like to see take their talents to the director's chair, as well as which established they think will win an Oscar within the next ten years. Next, they answer which actors or actresses they think has way too many Oscar nominations, as well as which actor or actress they think is in need of getting there first Oscar. Lastly, in honor of TV Editor Tyler Doster, they choose which of Amy Adams nominated performances they would give her the Oscar for. Then to wrap up the episode, they gang play another round of Part of the Ensemble, aka the SAG Ensemble game. While it is Dan and Josh's first time playing the game, they picked up quickly, leaving to some good competition amongst the host, with even a couple of ensembles stumping them. You can listen to The AwardsWatch Podcast wherever you stream podcasts, from iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Spotify and more. This podcast runs 2h01m. A little on the long side but another fun episode. So, without further ado, let's get into it.

Zander Schloss is an American musician, actor and composer. He is known as bass player for the Circle Jerks, and the Weirdos, his many collaborations with Joe Strummer . Schloss has rolled up an impressive résumé that includes his featured acting performance alongside Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez in Alex Cox's 1984 cult classic feature Repo Man; work on the soundtracks for Cox's later films Sid & Nancy, Straight to Hell, Walker; and Highway Patrolman, as touring musical director and guitarist for Joe Strummer of the Clash and performances on Strummer's first solo single Trash City and album Earthquake Weather; and appearances on record with Low & Sweet Orchestra, Magnificent Bastards, Thelonious Monster and in concert with the Weirdos. In 2021-22, he will be seen on stage during the Circle Jerks' pandemic-delayed 40th anniversary tour. Song About Songs will surprise listeners accustomed to hearing Schloss in an aggressive hardcore format, but the St. Louis-born musician notes that his early musical inspirations came from a distinctly different realm. The star from Sid & Nancy, Terminator 2, Candy Man, Gattaca, Leaving Las Vegas and the new chiller The Dark And The Wicked takes us on a journey through some of his favorite foreign films.
Through the years, the music industry has produced some pretty infamous couples: Sonny & Cher, Sid & Nancy, J.Lo & Puff Daddy, and of course Kurt & Courtney, whose tragic demise would ROCK the world (get it, guys? Because they were rockers in rock bands. Nirvana and Hole. Rockers…rocking the world). When Kurt Cobain was found dead with a bullet wound to the head on April 8th, 1994, many believed that Kurt had succumbed to the demons of his depression and heroin abuse by taking his own life. However, when a limp-dick BBC reporter starts poking around the mean streets of Washington looking for answers surrounding Kurt’s death, he uncovers a widespread hatred for his wife, Courtney and is compelled to get everyone in the world who ever met her to talk as much shit about her on camera as possible (journalism!) This week, Jen & Danielle do their best to stay on topic despite extensive sidebars on krautrock, Dave Grohl’s likability, the differences between a shock JOCK and a shock ROCKer, and generally just fucking hating this stupid movie. If you want to hear their extensive, long-winded opinions on a topic they couldn’t really care less about, and maybe even have a bunch of LOLs along the way, tune all the way in!

This episode is brought to you by Crystal Meth Papsi, enjoy a refreshing new Papsi. Papsi. Drink. Drink it now. Film blogger, editor and all-around nice guy Filip ONell joins me for an incredibly fun discussion on cult British filmmaker Alex Cox. Of course we sing the praises of REPO MAN, but we dig even deeper into his other work including the acclaimed SID & NANCY as well as the underappreciated WALKER, HIGHWAY PATROLMAN & THREE BUSINESSMEN. I had a blast watching some of these for the first time, even if they are all far from perfect films. I briefly get to know Filip in the introduction since he is the first guest I've had on from Sweden, as well as an inspiring filmmaker and lifelong cinephile! So glad he got in touch with me and decided to cover an underrated director that I'm excited to explore even further. You gotta love the Repo Man theme from Iggy Pop at the top of this show, as well as a lot of soundtrack choices from Cox as well!
