Headliners Devil May Cry 5 releases today to very good reviews scoring an 88 average on MetaCritic (MetaCritic)· We have The Gamer Formally Known as Capt Stiffy to give his thoughts on the game· Its lit The latest game to test Steam’s policy “Rape Day” will not be published on Steam said Valve (The Verge)· An excerpt from Valve’s statement reads as follows: · “Over the past week you may have heard about a game called ‘Rape Day’ coming soon to Steam. Today we’ve decided not to distribute this game on Steam.”· “Much of our policy around what we distribute is, and must be, reactionary—we simply have to wait and see what comes to us via Steam Direct. We then have to make a judgement call about any risk it puts to Valve, our developer partners, or our customers. After significant fact-finding and discussion, we think ‘Rape Day’ poses unknown costs and risks and therefore won’t be on Steam.” Anthem has been crashing in game as well as hard shutting down PS4 consoles (GameSpot)· The crash has been turning off the console prematurely similar to when the power goes out· EA is aware of this problem and has since put out a statement addressing the problem · "We are currently in process of gathering information about the PS4 issues so we can determine the root cause." said EA earlier in the week. (GameSpot) · BioWare says it has identified the issues inAnthem that were causing players’ PlayStation 4 systems to crash and will issue a patch to fix that problem in an update expected on March 12.Lead producer Ben Irving said that BioWare “discovered a bunch of things that were causing crashes, and we’ve addressed them in our patch.” Irving also said that, based on BioWare and Sony’s investigation into the crashes, they haven’t found any consoles were actually “bricked,” or rendered completely unusable, by Anthem crashes. (Polygon) -said late this past Wednesday · This is UNACCEPTABLE and DISGRACEFUL for a high profile high budget AAA game from BioWare and EA that was in development for 6 years.
Julian Wilton from Sydney and Jay Armstrong from the UK are from Massive Monster, creators of The Adventure Pals. We spoke about working together despite the distance between them and merging two iconic gaming genres into one. For years Steam Greenlight has been the number one way that indie developers could get their ideas out there, generate interest and build an audience. But after 5 years of service it is being shut down and Stream Direct , it's replacement will launch on the 13th of June. But is this going to make it harder or easier for indie developers to make a name for themselves? Finally we take a look at your “right to repair” with DIY repairs and third party tools so easy to come by these days it can be very tempting to order what you need online and attempt a fix on your broken gaming hardware. However an End-user Licence Agreement might stop you from using your console after you've repaired it. However a recent ruling by the US supreme court now has the potential to shake up this idea. What would it take for this to happen in Australia? And would this mean you can do whatever you like to your console? You can find us on social media, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, YouTube and Steam. Just search for "pixelsift"!

We look at Threadripper, the i9 CPU, and Steam Direct.
Hello Enthusiacs! Tekken 7 is out and being a big fan, we start off the show discussing that. However there has also been a lot of news coming out over the past few weeks. Looks like I picked a hell of a time to miss a week. From the Switch game service developments, to Steam Direct news, and more crammed into this hour. And that is after we cut half of what we had planned to talk about. And, if anyone wants to play Tekken on PSN, hit me up. My ID is Kynetyk. Hopefully a direct match will get around the match making issues.
THE ROAD TO E3 Continuing the fighter lineup, we play Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers on the Nintendo Switch. We also fight something else, robots to be exact, in Robo Recall for the Oculus Rift. Finally, Luis joined the PC Master Race and got himself a new Windows laptop! In our news, Intel has launched new processors with up to 18 cores! Valve is working with Neil Blomkamp on a series for Steam as well as making their Steam Direct platform relatively affordable. A English University is offering a course in eSports next year which totally changes the game. Finally, Pyre gets a release date and Need for Speed Payback is announced. In our final chapter of our E3 Predictions, we talk about what we expect from Nintendo with the Switch and 2DS. Will we see any surprise announcements? Super Smash Bros., Pokemon or even Animal Crossing? We also break down what to expect from Ubisoft and their Assassin's Creed reveal. NOTE: We will NOT be releasing a podcast next week during E3. Instead, be sure and follow all of our social channels for the latest updates from the show floor. We'll return the following Tuesday will a full recap of the whole show and what you need to know. This week we spend most of the show talking about what we've been playing. Turns out everyone's had time to lots of games this week! And there's not a lot of news, so bring on the random fun! Grif sat down with Bendy & the Ink Machine, Dead Rising 4, and Bulletstorm! Craziness abounds. Oak's been playing Rime. Chicken and Baka have lots of fun stories to tell about they experience with Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. Things get pretty intense when they're playing, apparently. As for the news, Shadow of War has been delayed for a couple of months, the next Tropico game has been teased, and Life is Strange looks to be getting a prequel. Steam has announced the fee for Steam Direct, the replacement for Steam Greenlight. Is it the best way to stop the asset flips and shovelware "games"? Time will tell. All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!
Today Gregg and Jen talk about the new Need for Speed game called "Payback", restoring old Nintendo games, the possible leaked roster for Marvel VS Capcom Infinite, Steam Direct, and the new Nintendo Online Service!
CaliXenon joins us this week to talk about Steam Direct, RiME's Denuvo DRM getting cracked and Far Cry 5, the game that apparently features the average white American. Sam and Will introduce Dylan to the colliding worlds of cars and anime, and we discuss Ian Bogost’s article, “Video Games Are Better Without Stories.” The guys also develop their own open source résumé file format, and we have a big discussion about the announcement of Steam Direct’s fee. Games include NieR: Automata and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Got a question for the show? Join us on Discord or email us at contact@ward-games.com!

Hello Enthusiacs! Lorenzo returns to discuss the changes coming to Steam Greenlight, namely the coming replacement Steam Direct, and as usual looking at it from an angle that most coverage does not take. After that, we also discuss localization again, given the news of a localizer demanding his name be removed while arguing against cultural adjustments, over the wishes of the developer it seems. Lorenzo caps us off with a story about how he got into the industry, with some advice for people wanting to enter the industry.
It's episode three of the Indie Haven Podcast, and obviously we're going to talk about Yooka Laylee. We also talk Steam Direct, and how we're not sure it's doing enough to solve Steam's quality control issues - and as if that wasn't enough, Josh fights through illness and the influence of painkillers to reveal the malicious and incredibly vague mind games that have been keeping him awake at night. Elsewhere on the show: Elodie runs afoul of an unusual curse, George forgets some spiders, the crew chat about the games they wish had lived up to their potential, and David Cage is faced with an impossible choice. A topical discussion today on the recently announced Steam Direct. We'll be talking about publishers, developers, the market, and competitors!
Out of The Box, Blasphemous, The Banner Saga 3, Sunless Skies...

This week we're joined by Justine Colla, she's from Alta and is making the immersive social game A Township Tale. Justine told us all about how society works in a VR world, what happens when players enforce the rules and what Alta can do if people get into each other's personal space. A Township Tale will be shown at GDC on 27 February to 3 March 2017. Head to townshiptale.com Speaking of GDC, a number of developers may not be able to attend the conference this month due to the US Travel ban which has been put in place by executive order. We look at how the travel ban is impacting the gaming world, from eSports visas and the people who make games. Finally Valve is shaking up the way that it puts games onto it's Steam platform. The Steam Greenlight process is going away, and a new system Steam Direct will be replacing it, which charges a fee for admission. We'll talk about what that process means, and the prospect of indie developers paying for the place on the store. You can find us on social media, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, YouTube and Steam. Just search for "pixelsift"!

It's lucky number 13! Or, as Dylan informed us, a baker's dozen of episodes. In this episode, Adam is sad that South Park: The Fractured But Whole was delayed, Valve moves from Greenlight to Steam Direct, Vinny wonders what we think the most underrated games of this generation are, Costume Quest gets a TV show, Ryan wonders about the impact of E3 being open to the public, Playstation Now loses a lot of devices and Apocolypse Now drops it's Kickstarter campaign. This ain’t New Donk City; this is Gothtown, USA, baby! Down here, we’re only talking about the hottest Halo 2 maps, the most embarrassing Internet usernames, and the most mythical video game easter eggs shared in hushed tones over elementary school lunches. There’s more talk to be had about Fire Emblem Heroes and smartphone games in general, leading Will to tell us how he once racked up a five-figure phone bill. But the big talk this week is about Steam Direct, Valve’s upcoming replacement for Steam Greenlight, and how this will affect independent developers and what other consumer-facing considerations they should be focusing on. Games include Fire Emblem Heroes, Mini Metro, Terra Battle, Tanks of Freedom, and Super Mario Run. Got a question for the show? Join us on Discord or email us at contact@ward-games.com!
Steam Direct! Also game length? What's good value for the money?
Podcast regulars Rishi Alwani and Mikhail Madnani join host Pranay Parab to talk about Steam Greenlight and why it had to be done away with. We compare it with Steam Direct, the system that's going to replace Greenlight.
