On this episode of Unbothered by Thai Rivera I talk about the conversation I had on the phone with comedian Alex Elkin about last week's episode. I don't think Alex is a bad guy but I definitely think he has bit of a blind spot. I also talk about the responsibility that I think some of us have as comedians to not only speak but also to listen. I know some comedians will disagree but I also know that some people in general will refuse to grow and some of those people happen to be comedians. I also mention at the end that I think all of this may be winding down for me so maybe I care a little more about the message I leave in my wake. I was going through a little bit of a depression because of my residency situation and I'll talk more about that in an upcoming episode but for now my mind wanted to escape that and I let it do just that. It wasn't the plan to NOT talk about that situation, technically, I thought that was all I would talk about. I turned out to be wrong. It is what it is and this what you get so for this week, That's All Folk's...stay unbothered. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karla's Homemade Salsa https://www.etsy.com/shop/KarlasHomemadeSalsa Whimzees Alligators https://amzn.to/3fjKqvf (amazon) ________________________________________________________________ BUY MY ALBUM!!!! ►http://itunes.apple.com/album/id453055925?ls=1&app=itunes Full Website: ►http://thairivera.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast: Unbothered by Thai Rivera ►https://soundcloud.com/user-880498501 ►https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/u... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLLOW ME!! The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets hosted the Pitt Panthers Thursday night in the home finale and what turned out to be the regular-season finale. The Jackets were on the losing end as we were unable to find an answer to Pitt's running game and were not able to mount a rushing attack of our own. This was made worse by some very one-sided officiating, and I sensed some bad vibes in the following 24 hours. I also take a look at this weekend's Power 5 conference championships and various playoff scenarios.

The 158th episode of the podcast also happens to be the 2019 holiday episode, and there is no better guest to celebrate the season than voice actor Bob Bergen. What, you may ask, does the voice of Porky Pig have to do with the holidays? Well, Bob also used his voice talents in one of my personal favorite holiday movies, as he provided the sounds for the creatures in Gremlins! Bob talks about Porky, Gremlins, and also tells stories of working on Space Jam and The Emperor's New Groove. Plus, hear what it's like to not only work in the voice acting industry but also be a teacher as well because Bob learned from the best including the legendary Daws Butler. After five days of public hearings, testimony in the House impeachment inquiry wrapped up this week. Gordon Sondland emerged as the star witness, or did he? Donald Trump refuted the EU Ambassador's testimony as only he could, and with Trump-critics cheering his Republican allies resorted to impugning the witness's credibility. What you believe at the end of the week will be highly correlated to what you believed at the start of the process, so after all the drama very little has changed. Josh is glad to see a brief process wrapping up quickly, because he believes the proper way to address the corruption unearthed here is at the ballot box.

Who knew cartoon characters could be so litigious?
So I've had to put the show on hiatus while I help out a family friend deal with a bone marrow transplant. Basically, all the T-Cells were killed and he has to stay quarantined for 4-6 months so I'm taking care of things on the other side of the wall. I don't think a show can survive and grow on Itunes after that much time away so when I get my life back I'll probably start something new, though at this point I don't know exactly what. My hobo book "The Hobo Who Couldn't Catch a Train" is doing well so thanks to all my listeners who also picked up mu book. My next book is a superhero/War of the Worlds mashup called "Kneel Before Mars". I'm hoping to have that out by November 10th 2016. I'm doing the final edits right now. I wanted to thank all my co-hosts and guests. Everybody always gave 100%; I'll appreciate that forever. I also wanted to thank all the people who took time out of their busy lives to spend some time with us, as busy as this world is it can be a real sacrifice to free up an hour or so, so thanks again! Mike

The hosts ask Mitzel's reaction to the news about Ausmus and also discuss the latest debacle going on in Washington. On Sunday, relief pitcher Jonathan Papelbon and right fielder Bryce Harper got into a little boxing bout. Well, actually Papelbon grabbed Harper by the neck. It was so much more interesting than the shoving match Jose Iglesias and James McCann were in a month or so ago. Finally, to wrap up the first season of "Tiger Talk", Holcomb and Pelc share their postseason predictions. According to our hosts, the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays are clearly the top two teams in the American League, but neither one can figure out the crowded National League Central.

And here she is - my farewell podcast and quite possibly the campest collection of tunes since The Sound Of Music. Thanks for the 10,000's of podcast downloads a month over the past few years and all the kind words. I've been lucky enough over the past 22 years to play for some of the biggest gay brands there has been, from Federation and Freakshow, to Rockshots, Rockies and Cruz back in its house music days (yes, really!!), Manchester Pride, Area, Gaydar Radio, Flamingo, and Fire, not forgetting some of the UK's coolest clubs like Sankeys, Mission and Gatecrasher. As Federation's drag queens, The Fedettes would say - "I had a ball".
Dr. Greene tried to catch up on email during this last program of the 2011-2012 school year, and covered various topics such as how to incorporate lagging skills and unsolved problems into a Functional Behavior Assessment, and whether the "Kids do well if they can" mantra applies to not-so-challenging students too.
