How much do you listen to your inner wisdom?  How much does intuition guide your career choices?  In my experience those who follow their intuition are more likely to do work they love and make a great living.  Their careers are fulfilling and sustainable.  We all possess some level of intuition.  It's these inklings that can point us to the right path for our careers.  In this episode, hear insights from my visit recently to the Lodge at Woodloch where I was the featured speaker for the weekend.  While there I took two great classes, one called, "Intuition for Self-Discovery" and the other "The Orchard Tour". It was the Orchard Tour which led me to meet Holistic Orchardist aka The Dirt Doctor, Sam Lindenmuth - a man who is making a great living working with nature.  Hear what a day in the life is like in his outdoor career, what he loves about it and how inklings from his childhood confirmed his career choice.  My intuition tells me you'll enjoy hearing from Sam just as much I did when I took his tour.  We are going through changing times and as you contemplate your own career, I hope this episode inspires you to tune into your inner wisdom and listen to your intuition to follow your own career dreams. In episode 123, I speak with Stacy Sherman about the power of a transformational customer experience. Everyone is used to interacting with a business in a transactional way, but when a business can make a transaction into a transformation, that's when magic happens! In our conversation we discuss how to make this happen by starting at the top and moving down. If the executives are seeking to increase their own wellbeing, they will naturally desire to make the wellbeing of their employees a priority. And when the employee wellbeing and happiness becomes a priority, it can impact the bottomline in a tangible way. In other words, customer satisfaction begins with employee satisfaction and employee satisfaction begins with executive wellbeing. We also discussed how a business can create a "wow moment" by simply connecting with their customers. Host Robin Milling chats with The Lodge At Woodloch sommelier Leslie Britt who likes to think of herself as a 'wine slinger.' She jokes with the guests, giving them the proper phonetic pronunciation, as 'som-el-yay'! Leslie is actually a certified specialist in both wine and spirits. Leslie holds a diploma in wine and spirits from the Wine And Spirits Education Trust which is the pre-requisite for a Master of wine out of London. Leslie believes that wine is an essential part of any dining experience. She hosted a wonderful chocolate and wine pairing – two things that go so well together. Her mantra is wine, chocolate, wine. The presentation featured Eclat chocolate courtesy of Good & Evil featured a blonde chocolate infused with porcini mushroom and thyme which Leslie paired perfectly with Sherry, Muscat, a fruity Chardonnay or a Moscato d'Asti. The milk chocolate pairs beautifully with Merlot, Pinot Noir, Reisling and the dark at 72% cacao is a winner with Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Port. She tells Robin she discovered that her family was part of five generations of brewery from the United Kingdom – Black Sheep Brewery. Leslie admits to Robin her passion for beer. She shares her recipe for food and wine pairings with her preference being Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc "going well with any food." But she doesn't discriminate. She is an “equal opportunity imbiber” as long as it goes with food. Her knowledge of the history of wines and the story behind the label are impressive. Cheers to Leslie Britt!
