In this episode of My DPC Story, Dr. Rachel Trupe, Dr. Adam Henry, and Dr. Luke Pittman from Valiant Primary Care share their journey into the world of Direct Primary Care (DPC). These three physicians, all trained at Indiana University School of Medicine, transitioned from three separate conventional healthcare system residencies to open their DPC practice in Zionsville, Indiana, seeking more autonomy and a better work-life balance. The episode highlights their motivations, including burnout from high patient volumes and scheduling challenges in traditional settings. By forming a partnership, they have successfully established a practice that prioritizes patient relationships and personalized care. The doctors discuss the misconceptions they initially had about DPC, the importance of understanding the financial model, and their strategies for rapid growth without significant marketing expenses. They also emphasize the value of having supportive partners and a shared vision, which has been crucial to their success. The episode serves as inspiration for physicians considering the DPC model, offering insights into the potential benefits for both doctors and patients, and reinforcing the supportive nature of the DPC community. Join the conversation to learn about the transformative power of DPC in redefining patient care.HINT: Learn about Hint's best-in-class billing, membership management software, all-in-one EMR, direct care ecosystem and free educational resources and tools at hint.com/startupFREE MARKET MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (FMMA) 4/9-11/25: Use code MYDPCSTORY for $800 off your FMMA Annual Conference registration! -> SPRUCE HEALTH: NEW USERS get 20% off your SPRUCE HEALTH paid plan with code: MARYAL20Support the showBe A My DPC Story PATREON MEMBER! This week I am pleased to share a wide-ranging conversion with New York-based painter and musician, Adam Henry who, in a first here at PSO, contributed both the image and the soundtrack for PSO no. 233, Apparation in Formation.Porch Swing Orchestra is an art project exploring the relationship between sound and images. Most images are taken on the site where the sound was created and/or recorded. Our orchestra comprises of birds, guitars, artists, poets, and passing cars that spontaneously create ephemeral symphonic chance-inspired compositions. The original site and hub for all things PSO can be found at porchswingorchestra.org.Adam Henry holds a BFA in Art and Art History from the University of New Mexico and an MFA from The Yale School of Art. His recent exhibitions include solo shows at Candice Madey in New York City, River Valley Arts Collective, in Hudson, NY; The Ice House, in Garrison, NY; Meessen De Clercq, in Brussels, and group shows at SALTS, Birsfelden, Switzerland; Josée Bienvenu Gallery, New York; Rita Urso, Milan, Italy; Dia Horia, Mykonos, Greece; and Bill Brady, in Miami Meessen De Clercq published a monograph on his work from 2011–16. For PSO no.233, Adam has paired an image of his 48 x 60-inch painting with a five-minute soundscape crafted on a 1981 Yamaha synthesizer which we will hear after our conversationWe cover a ton of ground in our conversation ranging from ideas of perception, skateboard magazines, authenticity in painting and punk rock, and publicly crying in contemporary art spaces. Komets PodKast Episode 47 Adam Henry by Shane Albahrani
In the latest episode of the “Best Coast Boys” podcast, hosts Landon McCool and the Dallas Morning News’ John Owning discuss the hiring of Mike McCarthy and his coaching staff. . The “Best Coast Boys” podcast is a Cowboys-centric podcast that will delve into many other topics. Whether it is the NFL, Cowboys, movies, music, comics, food or Mixed Martial Arts, nothing is off limits on the “Best Coast Boys” podcast. After the pleasantries, the guys dive into their thoughts on the McCarthy hire. Landon and John detail why they think McCarthy will be an upgrade over Jason Garrett as Cowboys head coach. John discusses how McCarthy can improve the offense while Landon touches on McCarthy’s humbleness to give up play-calling. From there, the guys go position by position to look at each new member of the McCarthy’s coaching staff. They start with new ST coordinator John Fassel, who Landon and John think will be a major upgrade over Keith O’Quinn. Then, the guys turn their attention to Kellen Moore. The guys mention how they are excited about the potential melding of McCarthy and Moore’s offensive philosophies. New QB coach (and old TE coach) Doug Nussmeier is next up, and the guys reveal why it makes sense even if the team had to jettison the well-liked Jon Kitna. Turning their attention to Adam Henry being hired as the WR coach, the guys detail why they’re not surprised about Sanjay Lal being fired but wonder whether Henry truly is an upgrade. Landon and John then detailed why they’re happy with Skip Peete being hired to once again coach the Cowboys RBs. Finishing up on offense, the guys give their thoughts on Lunda Wells as TE coach and Joe Philbin as OL coach. Turning their attention toward defense, Landon reveals why he’s come to appreciate Mike Nolan as defensive coordinator while John details some of the potential scheme change that could come in effect. After that, John and Landon lavish the Jim Tomsula hiring (as DL coach) with praise. The guys then question the Scott McCurely hire on account of the lack of information available on him. To finish the show, the guys discuss Maurice Linguist as DB coach, where John details why Linguist won him over. The “Best Coast Boys” podcast will return in the future to discuss the Cowboys offseason. Join us!
