After the series worst episode, Space, and some notes from Fox, Gordon and Gansa got to work on bringing the episode back into focus as Mulder goes rogue and infiltrates a UFO crash site that's being recovered by a covert army operation. When he's inevitably caught he meets UFO enthusiast and fellow paranoia enjoyer, Max Fennig, as the pilot of the downed UFO sneaks around the crash site, killing soldiers, while waiting for the mother ship to arrive and pick them up.Not exactly a mythology episode but not exactly not a mythology episode, Fallen Angel brings the series back into paranoid focus to remind everyone that it's about UFOs, aliens, and conspiracy. We also break down this week in pop culture and the news as usual.
Jessica and Dini travel back to March 10, 1995! Join us as we discuss our top 5 from S2 EP19, Død Kalm! This episode was written by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. Directed by Rob Bowman. In “Død Kalm,” Mulder and Scully investigate a Navy ship whose crew mysteriously aged decades in weeks. Aboard the eerie vessel, they too begin to rapidly age, with Scully blaming contaminated water and Mulder suspecting time displacement. The ghost ship setting amplifies isolation and dread, drawing on maritime lore and legends like the Mary Celeste. Themes of mortality and survival deepen as they race to uncover the truth and save themselves.Blending science, folklore, and conspiracy theories, “Død Kalm” is a haunting exploration of human fragility and one of The X-Files' most atmospheric episodes. Some cream of the network TV crop here, with the new Fox show Accused (available on Hulu). Michael Chiklis! Jill Henessey! Robert Wisdom! The Homeland team (Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa, Michael Cuesta)! With this collection of talent in front of and behind the camera, it stands to reason that Accused is going to be better than the average network TV crime procedural. This may also explain its surprisingly massive ratings success. If you are not in the mood for a bigger commitment like a serialized series or a film, this is a great appetizer-sized commitment with stand-alone anthology episodes. The first episode goes pretty bold with how it integrates Chiklis' character with a We Need To Talk About Kevin kind of son.Come to Watch This Tonight as your best podcast for TV recommendations. This week we head out into the Norwegian sea for “Død Kalm”! We're talking pirate whale propaganda, whether or not rats are sexy, hurkin' and splurkin', and somehow completely miss a violent murder. Our hot young thangs are hot no longer, so we talk about really bad makeup, convenient Norwegian flags, Alex Gansa daring to show his face again, and how much we hate The Notebook. If you suffer from OMSD (Old Man Salt Disease), you may be entitled to financial compensation.Special note: We had some audio woes this week, so it's a little jerkier than usual, but good news! We got new microphones, so next episode will sound great!Send us an email at scullynationpod@gmail.com or follow us on Twitter and Instagram!

Podcasts : Therapy for black girls, Mental Illness Happy Hour et The hilarious world of depression Livres de self-help: My age of anxiety de Scott Stossel (2014)La coach Marie Dasilva et son compte twitter. Alex Gansa, creator of "Homeland," takes us on a behind the scenes journey of his career as an award winning writer in Hollywood. He and Co-creator Howard Gordon, began their professional lives in out west as Test Prep instructors for the children of Hollywood elite. From there they went on to write for television. Hear how these two young upstarts went from wide eyed hopefuls to being two of the most successful writers and show runners working today. Gansa shares deep personal stories of his struggles and successes and if you love "Homeland" you will learn about how the show came together, casting stories and never before heard anecdotes from the set of the Showtime award winning series. Alex Gansa is the showrunner, co-creator and executive producer of Showtime’s thriller HOMELAND, starring Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin. HOMELAND premiered in October 2011 to critical acclaim and the highest debut ratings for a freshman drama on the network. HOMELAND won the 2012 and 2013 Golden Globe for Best Television Series, and a 2012 Emmy in six different categories including Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series and Best Drama Series. Additional honors include two 2012 WGA awards in the categories of Best New Series and Episodic Drama, 2013 Producers Guild Award, the Peabody Award, Television Critics’ Association Award, Critics’ Choice Television Award and was named one of AFI’s Top Ten Programs of the Year in both 2011 and 2012. Gansa previously served as an Executive Producer on the long-running 24, the CBS series NUMB3RS, and DAWSON'S CREEK, and as a Consulting Producer on ENTOURAGE. His other work includes the hit series THE X FILES for Fox, SISTERS for NBC, and the critically acclaimed series MAXIMUM BOB that he created for ABC. Gansa lives in Los Angeles.
In this, our 33rd episode, I come dangerously close to unironically reciting "that is a mischaracterization" à la manic Carrie in "The Vest." We also get around to discussing Homeland's latest, "A Flash of Light." There are certain things we disagree on (just how much does it matter, one episode later, that the cookie scene was cut?). And certain things on which we wholeheartedly concur (Dar telling Carrie "I'm not Saul" is certainly a life highlight). We take a few other detours to expound on a changed Quinn, what it means for Carrie to be a capable mother, Charlie Rose, and whether Alex Gansa is a romantic at heart or not. (Alternate title: "No One Wants to Talk About Jonas")
Actor David Marciano, who considers himself a poet above all else, joins host William Powell, in a conversation about the craft of acting. Marciano has appeared in The Shield, Homeland, Judging Amy, and Civil Wars among many others TV shows and films. Watch David's "How to Be an Actor" speech from YouTube. From IMDB.com: Mr. Marciano is a professional actor, writer, director who has achieved considerable success in a vast career that has spanned over twenty five years. As a series regular Mr. Marciano has had the honor of working with such entertainment luminaries as Steven Bochco, who brought David into America's homes on a weekly basis in "Civil Wars" as the poet bicycle messenger, Jeffrey Lassick. His second series was the CBS drama, "Due South", created by Oscar winner Paul Haggis. Here David was able to bring his flare for comedy to the Buddy Cop genre on the streets of Chicago as Detective Ray Vecchio. While on "Due South", the Canadian Academy nominated David, two years consecutively, for a Gemini Award. Next David completed a four-year run as a regular cast member of the FX Emmy Award-winning drama "The Shield" as old-school Detective Steve Billings. Currently you can see David on the critically acclaimed Showtime series "Homeland" created by Howard Gordon "24" and Alex Gansa where David plays Virgil opposite the multi-award winning Claire Danes.
