She spent her adolescence in various churches, but they weren't as “Spirit-filled” as she was taught they could be.She married young and the first years of marriage were difficult. There was alcohol abuse, church shopping, and the difficulties that come with having young children.She and her husband needed the church to be a place of deep and meaningful relationships, but it wasn't.“When we started seeing church as a social club [with no depth], we were like, ‘No. This is not what we thought it was…'”By 2018, Jo realized the Church was steeped in Patriarchy. In October 2022, it was announced that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched an investigation into Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motor Company for oil drain pan assemblies. This NHTSA investigation was spurred by a petition that was put together by the Automotive Oil Change Association in July 2022.   Joanna Johnson is a policy advisor for the AOCA. In this follow-up episode from last week's, AOCA's Joanna Johnson returns to talk about the FTC report that identifies anti-competitive behavior in the repair and maintenance industry. While the first episode focused on tactics previously used by OEMs and dealers to discourage independent shops, this episode digs into the new frontier of connected vehicle technology. Telematics will change the way service centers work with vehicles, and this is the arena in which vehicle technology, Right to Repair, and independent aftermarket issues collide.

The Federal Trade Commission recently sent a report to Congress detailing some of the tactics that dealership service centers and OEMs use to divert maintenance work to their shops. We are NOLN are digging into the report for some reporting, but in the meantime, we've brought in an expert to talk about the main points.  Joanna Johnson, policy advisor for the Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA), has been working for years on issues that this report covers. In this episode, she talks about some of the tactics that OEMs use to direct service and how this report shines a light on issues that need to be addressed. Thursday afternoon before the event actually opened that we had lunch with Sivia. When we dropped her back at her hotel we went up to her room and she showed us the kits for these beautiful necklaces and samples that were already made/in progress. Knew it was something my mom would love! She had a handful of colors to choose from and we got to pick what we wanted off her bed and buy them! When we got back to the car we all agreed that the exhilaration was intoxicating and decided this was the knitting version of a drug deal. We got such a kick out of it.  Kit had everything I needed- yarn, beads, the flosser to string the beads, clasp. Love the way this came out. Think I’d have liked it with the 2.0 mm called for and perhaps with bigger beads a little better but I didn’t have that on hand. Pattern is well written and intuitive. It was easy to memorize the 8 row repeat and to read my knitting once the repeat was established. Something new to me. Never knit with beads before. Kelsey Poulton says she enjoyed coming back to pageantry after taking a three year break because no-one really knew who she was. After being crowned Miss Galaxy 2020 in Orlando Florida, it's safe to say that anonymity is one luxury she may no longer have. Kelsey identifies herself as hard-working, and returned to the Galaxy international stage immediately after placing first runner-up in 2019 to her good friend Joanna Johnson.
