Author Michael Gray is this episode's guest to talk about the brand new three-part 50th anniversary edition of his highly acclaimed book Song & Dance Man: The Art of Bob Dylan. The first edition of Song & Dance Man was the first book to seriously examine the work of Bob Dylan, originating the realm of scholarship that put Dylan on the road to the Nobel prize. Fifty-years and hundreds of Dylan books later, many still consider it one of the very best: Rolling Stone called it “Monumental, endlessly illuminating.” The original Song & Dance Man released in 1972 covered Dylan's work through 1970's Self Portrait, but was expanded in a new edition in 1982, and again in 2000 – growing to over 900 pages and covering Dylan's work through 1997's Time Out Of Mind. But Song & Dance Man has been out of print for over a decade, during which time Bob Dylan won a Nobel Prize for Literature, continued delivering critically lauded records, and earned a new generation of fans while sustaining older ones in his seventh decade as an artist. The 50th Anniversary Series puts every word of Song & Dance Man back into print, but in an accessible three-volume format. Michael Gray is here to tell us about the all-new format and what's inside all three volumes.Purchase a copy of Song & Dance Man: The Art of Bob Dylan (Volume I, II, & III)Episode PlaylistVisit Michael Grays website ---------- BookedOnRock.com The Booked On Rock YouTube Channel Follow The Booked On Rock with Eric Senich:FACEBOOKINSTAGRAMTIKTOKX Find Your Nearest Independent Bookstore Contact The Booked On Rock Podcast: thebookedonrockpodcast@gmail.com The Booked On Rock Music: “Whoosh” by Crowander / “Last Train North” & “No Mercy” by TrackTribe

This is a super personal episode for me. This week as we wrap up our 10th Anniversary Series, I wanted to chat about not only the origins and evolution of The Hub but also my journey as an entrepreneur, and I'm sharing a story that I haven't shared until recently or with many people.  I learned some huge lessons early on about imposter syndrome and finding strength in adversity. I put my trust in the wrong business partner and almost lost my company, along with my confidence in myself and my vision. As hard as it is to look back on, I want to share my experience with you guys because I think we all know what it's like to stumble, like we don't know the next step or even if there's a way forward. And that's exactly why I built The Boutique Hub, to provide a place where boutique owners can come together, support one another and learn from each other.  As I look back on the last 10 years and everything The Hub has become and accomplished, my mission remains the same: to serve others, build community and change the future of retail. The Hub has so much more in the works, and our team is ready to take on the next 10 years continuing to find ways to better serve you and your business. We're putting a huge emphasis on data and metrics with the launch of our new dashboard and Boutique Hub Black, introducing new tools to help you track performance and pan inventory, developing education specifically for wholesale businesses and home & gift retailers, growing Hubventory.com as a marketplace to shop with brands you can trust … and that's just the tip of the iceberg! Thank you to all of you who've joined our community and been a part of this journey. The Hub would not be what it is today without you. Please know how grateful I am for your support and please continue to send us your feedback. Cheers to the next 10 years!    Resources: The Boutique Hub:  Website | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest | TikTok | YouTube Ashley Alderson: Instagram Boutique Summit 2024 2024 Boutique Boss Planner The Boutique Hub Membership Boutique Hub Black Hubventory.com

1 Year Anniversary Series - 12 Episodes in 12 Days Eric Bigger knows change doesn't happen overnight, and he's hoping to spread that same message. On Thursday, Eric posted side-by-side images with his "Bachelorette" cast photo from Rachel Lindsay's season in 2017 on the left and a current photo on the right. Other than a three-year difference in the pictures, Eric now has facial hair and an even bigger smile. In his caption, he wrote about the ups and downs it took to reach that place of genuine happiness and "purpose." He began, "Transformation is real! Change your mindset, change your energy, change your life. It took me seven years of pain, setbacks, failure, and rejection to become an overnight success. I experienced every emotion, I struggled to pay bills, I was overworked and underpaid, I didn't know who I was, but I had a burning desire to figure it out."   Eric continued, "I spent countless hours studying, reading books, going to seminars, taking chances, praying hard, working diligently, and just curious about it all. And success happened to me, and it still is, and I'm still going and embracing all the fears and challenges that come with it." The 32-year-old wrote that he feels "truly blessed and grateful for life" and shared why he opted to write his book "Transformation," which he co-authored with Chris Randone. He said, "I published a book recently with the purpose and intention to help those in the discovery of finding themselves and purpose." Eric is all about promoting positivity, leadership, and overcoming fear.

Catching Up with Falsely Accused 16 Year Prisoner, Now Lawyer  -Jeffrey Deskovic 1 Year Anniversary Series Special Jeffrey Mark Deskovic is an American man from upstate New York known for having been wrongly convicted in 1990 at the age of seventeen of raping, beating, and strangling Angela Correa, a 15-year-old high school classmate at Peekskill High School. The Deskovic Foundation is a New York-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to exonerating the wrongfully convicted both in DNA and non-DNA cases, as well as wrongful conviction prevention. The Foundation was established as a result of Jeffrey Deskovic's own wrongful conviction at the age of 17 of the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl.  Authorities knew his DNA did not match that of the actual perpetrator – who, three years later, went on to murder another young woman and mother of two – but rogue police officers, prosecutors, and other law enforcement personnel knowingly and maliciously accused, prosecuted, and eventually secured his conviction. After his exoneration and release after sixteen years in prison, Deskovic successfully sued the authorities responsible and used a substantial portion of the compensation he was awarded to start the Deskovic Foundation. Deskovic has dedicated himself to helping the wrongfully convicted, and recently graduated from the Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University with a law degree.

Episode Topic: Shakespeare and Community: Emerging VoicesShakespeare remains the world's most produced and studied playwright. However, these pursuits have disenfranchised significant segments of society by perpetuating a cultural elitism that belies the notion of accessibility inherent in his works. In the 20th century, a movement of programs, designed with and for the incarcerated, the differently abled, and those disadvantaged by socio-economic factors (to name a few), explore Shakespeare through their unique lived experience. “Shakespeare and Community” highlights these practices through a series of panel discussions, providing a reflective space wherein the larger community can gain a broader understanding of who Shakespeare “is” and “can be” in the context of a rapidly changing culture.Featured Speakers: Rowan Mackenzie, Artistic Director, Shakespeare UnBardFlorence March, Professor in Renaissance and Restoration Drama, University Paul-Valéry, Montpellier (France); Director of the Institute for Research on the Renaissance, the Neo-Classical Age, and the Enlightenment (IRCL), French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and Université Paul-Valéry; Co-Editor-in-Chief, Cahiers Élisabéthains: A Journal of English Renaissance StudiesJanice Valls-Russell, Principal Research Associate, France's National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), Institute for Research on the Renaissance, the Neo-Classical Age, and the Enlightenment (IRCL), Université Paul Valéry, Montpellier (France)Abigail Rokison-Woodall, Lecturer in Shakespeare and Theatre, Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham Scott Jackson, Mary Irene Ryan Family Executive Director, University of Notre DameRead this episode's recap over on the University of Notre Dame's open online learning community platform, ThinkND: go.nd.edu/9a5767. This podcast is a part of the London Book Club ThinkND Series titled “London Shakespeare Lecture 10th Anniversary Series”.
