Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects predominately the dopamine-producing (“dopaminergic”) neurons in a specific area of the brain called substantia nigra. Symptoms generally develop slowly over years, and the progression of these symptoms is often a bit different from one person to another due to the diversity of the disease (Parkinson's Foundation). While there currently is no cure for PD, researchers are working diligently to develop new technologies to make living with PD a little bit more bearable. Join us this week as we discuss the symptoms, causes, treatments, and advancing research surrounding Parkinson's, as well as 10 early signs of PD and how to proceed after receiving a diagnosis. In order to remain rock solid in this culture we need to make sure that we are standing on the Word of God. We do this every time we affirm the true history as recorded in Genesis, and by doing this we also confirm the Gospel which is rooted in that history. Whatever the latest media buzz, we can safely predict that the world will not see another Ice Age. This is founded in the confidence that the account of the global Flood in the book of Genesis is true, and that the Flood is what triggered the Ice Age. Hello and welcome to episode 35 of Diversity Hire. Today’s guest was Tommy Craggs, and we had a rollicking conversation about an era of media we are still trying to understand: the reign of Gawker. We dove into Tommy’s time as the editor Deadspin and later the executive editor of Gakwer and what both of those sites contributed to what we now call THE DISCOURSE. We also talked about the halcyon days of NY media, why blogging sucks, arbiters of bad faith and the climate around cultural politics, and finally a question I’m sure you guys have been thinking about for ages: What even is journalism? Kevin and Arjun also talked about Ben Smith’s EXPOSÉ of the downtown scene and the difference between scolding and clowning people. Caitlin and Nicole break from The Flash to talk about a movie that Nicole really loved and Caitlin really didn’t — Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom! Caitlin shows off her animal studies cred by discussing why you can’t just give a blood transfusion to a velociraptor from a T-rex … even if that velociraptor is by far the best character in the movie. Nicole and Caitlin also talk about the hazards of randomly shooting tranquilizers into a grown man, as well as the surprisingly good depiction of a volcanic eruption (aka, the second best character in the movie). Also, Nicole didn’t get into this in the episode, but she really loves how Mr. DNA says “dinosaurs” in the first movie and just felt that you should know that.Articles:What vulcanologists thought of the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom eruptionScience fact checking Jurassic World: Fallen KingdomFind the rest of the articles for the episode here.Find us all on Twitter:Caitlin: twitter.com/CaitlinVanasseNicole: twitter.com/NicoleLucklessTNHSW Podcast: twitter.com/TNHSWpodthatsnotscience.comKaleidoscope Media Network:KMN on Twitter: twitter.com/KaleidoNetworkKMN on Instagram: www.instagram.com/kaleidoscopemedianetworkKMN email: kaleidoscopemedianetwork@gmail.comHere’s Johnny: twitter.com/HeresjohnnycastWizard Studies: twitter.com/WizardStudies

Let them fight! That’s right folks, this week we are covering the 2014 version of Godzilla. Even more exciting, we feature an actual, real-life nuclear engineer to discuss all of the problems with nuclear power plants, nuclear bombs, nuclear radiation, nuclear banana bread, nuclear breath, nuclear sense of smell, and nuclear kung fu in the movie. Okay, it’s possible we may have made some of those up. There are so many problems with the science in this movie that it’s hard to keep track. You might even say that the science in this movie is a nuclear disaster (cue drum bu-dum).Articles:What is an EMP, and Could North Korea Really Use One Against the US?NukemapBryan Cranston’s Super Sweet 60Find the rest of the articles for the episode here.Find us all on Twitter:Caitlin: twitter.com/CaitlinVanasseNicole: twitter.com/NicoleLucklessMadicken: twitter.com/munkiumTNHSW Podcast: twitter.com/TNHSWpodthatsnotscience.comKaleidoscope Media Network:KMN on Twitter: twitter.com/KaleidoNetworkKMN on Instagram: www.instagram.com/kaleidoscopemedianetworkKMN email: kaleidoscopemedianetwork@gmail.comHere’s Johnny: twitter.com/HeresjohnnycastWizard Studies: twitter.com/WizardStudies

(http://www.advanceyourart.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Jennifer-Edwards-resized-credit-Evi-Abeler-copy.jpg) Jennifer Edwards – artist, facilitator, writer, choreographer, educator, and organizational development specialist Artists, what is the value of your art? I challenge students and peers – and now you – to drop the easy, untrue notion that the arts are intrinsically valuable. For if we cannot define and claim our value, service, and impact, no one else will. Jennifer Edwards is a facilitator, writer, choreographer, educator, and organizational development specialist. She has been called upon, as a speaker / facilitator, by organizations including Americans for the Arts, Emerging Women, Columbia University Medical Center, the Juilliard School, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Encore Careers. A Founding Partner of The Lasky Symposium (http://www.laskysymposium.org/) , and several strategic thinking groups. Some of the artifacts of her creative work include an iPhone App, called ‘Grounded,’ a short dance film series by the same name, and an award-winning spoken word album, titled ‘exposed.’ Additionally, her writing can be found on The Huffington Post, blogs of Dance /USA, Americans for the Arts, in The National Museum of Women, and in feminist zines, and chapbooks. Her choreography has been shown in some atypical spaces like Martha Stewart’s Whole Living website, Governors Island, and the streets of Shanghai. She continues to build, with various communities, a collective story / data installation project titled, jened.com (http://www.jened.com/) . https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/presidential-academy/Session+5+Lloyd.mp3 Focus Of what significance were the rules adopted by the Convention? In what respects did the Virginia Plan represent a new constitution rather than a mere revision of the Articles? What were delegates' initial reactions and questions concerning the Virginia Plan? What parts of the Plan were rejected or amended? What did the delegates mean when they spoke of a national government as opposed to a federal government? What different principles animate the New Jersey and Virginia Plans and the Hamilton Proposal? Why were they even introduced? What are the arguments for representation of the states, as opposed to the people, in the federal government? Consider the discussions of the executive power, bicameralism, and the role of the judiciary in the context of "republican principles." What do "republican principles" say about the sources of power, the powers, and the structure of the federal government?
