It is exactly as bad as it sounds. This week, Bill apologizes for his crimes against humanity in Rimworld, Jack digs deep into Returnal, Dave is having war flashbacks in Battlefield One, and Norris wants everyone to play Boomerang X. Also hey, this is coming out after the fact but if you have a chance to support the people who walked out this week from Activision Blizzard, be it via vocal support on social media for the #ActiBlizzWalkout tag, or by kicking a few bucks to some organizations they support (details can be found at this link here - https://blizzardwatch.com/2021/07/27/activision-blizzard-employees-plan-walkout-wednesday-heres-list-demands-corporate-leadership/) Come join the Discord! bit.ly/hoppedupdiscord Beer of the Week: Quarantine Beers Hosts: Chris Norris, David Beebe, Bill McDonnell, Jack Shirai Music by David Beebe (@norwegianvowels)
175: Horizontal Delights First up this week is Brian. He's been doing a lot of Switch playing this week and its all turned out well. He finished OwlBoy and it's still the delight that it first was when he was playing on the PC. Can't beat that. Then his big game this week is Octopath Traveler. It looks even better in person and this 100 plus hour RPG has Brian hooked. Speaking of being hooked is Stephen and that's what Pokemon Quest. He's changed his tune a bit and has put in close to 20 plus hours into the game at this point. He totally gets it now! Following that is Anthony. He played Call of Duty Black Ops 3, which is unusual for him. It was free. His first point: 70GB to download. Crazy. Then he talks Shining Resonance Refrain. It is a JRPG down to the core, similar to Star Ocean. It's made by Sega, it's on the Switch, and it's a $60 dollar game. Anthony's final game was Jurassic Park Evolution. It is a lot like Roller Coaster Tycoon. I think he sold us all on that. Last up is Cox. He's got more Battlefield One. They added stuff, but nobody cares. Ending it all this week is Bioshock Infinite. Cox played the original two. He likes this one. Shocker. The Drunken News this week is nice and tight, as we like to say around these parts. We talk Xbox updates, money and competitions, It's Always Sunny game, indie games on the Switch, and more! Don't miss out! Forgettable ambient noise or entrancing space sounds? This is the debate that's at the core of today's episode, as the Battle Bards take on EVE Online's beloved and perhaps misunderstood soundtrack. It's a journey that goes far beyond our galaxy to one full of intrigue, industry, and space discotheques! Episode 115 show notes Intro (feat. "Below the Asteroids," "Odyssey," and "I Saw Your Ship (symphony version") "Akat Mountains" "Minmatar Rock" "Hail to the Explorer" "Theme from Jita" "Red Glowing Dust" "Merchants, Looters, and Ghosts" "The Dealer" Which one did we like best? Listener notes: Veon91, Zen Dadaist, KatsPurr Jukebox picks: "Musik 2" from Hotline Miami, "Battlefield One" from Battlefield 1, and "Theories of an Eager Heart" from Planet Coaster Outro (feat. "EVE Fanfest 2013 Theme") Talk to the Battle Bards on Twitter! Follow Battle Bards on iTunes, Stitcher, Player.FM , Google Play, and Pocket Casts! The fog begins to clear and you can finally see the building in the distance. You've got some sort of... bill to pay. The details seemed unclear to you; something about the online broadcast of horror video games? It didn't matter: you were not the addressee. You couldn't be. "There must be some mistake", you say definitively, sliding the form across the desk. "I'm not the Ass Reaper and I don't owe any debt of souls or horror games or... anything!" The clerk adjusts her glasses, almost as if she needs to receive your disgusting image with more clarity. "I'm very sorry, sir", she sarcastically replies between the smacking of her tacky bubble gum. "Payment is required by October 13th -- that's a Friday. Friday the 13th". She smiles and waves you away. "You'll start tomorrow. Have a spooky afternoon". Discussed: Twitch.tv Hallow-stream 2017. Todd ruins a woman's day or possibly even her life. Rainbow Six Seige. Do first person shooters need a single player campaign at all? This and pigeons in this month's podcast.

Also discussed - WORLD WAR ONE MEMES #justww1things, Hitman's final episode and the ever-sensitive portrayal of mental illness, Thumper is a better music game than Guitar Hero, No Man's Sky's PR campaign just KEEPS GETTING WORSE, Nico has the dumbest intro for This Is The Police ever, why releasing Titanfall 2 between Battlefield One and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is a dumb fucking move, Crash Bandicoot is a Netflix star, IGN loves The Guy Game, Take 2 thinks there's a conspiracy surrounding Mafia 3 review scores, the death of the Wii U, MIITOMO, turns out Konami is actually a well-run business now, and SWERY'S BACK TATTOO IS FUCKING REAL. Phew. Also, apologies for the late upload and the fact the audio is a bit weird - still listenable though. First hour and a half was recorded last night and was then unusable because of weird audio stuff at Nico's end. Decided to do the news again tonight and join the two segments together. It's been a while since we have had a gamescast. Life has a tendency of getting in the way and so as you can imagine there is an absolute tonne of things to talk about. The big news, of course, is the Nintendo Switch as well as Red Dead Redemption 2. We have played Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Battlefield One and so many more. We missed doing the podcast and we hoped you missed listening to us.
Back in my Play goes NEXT GEN with the launch of a new show and a discussion about PC Gaming. We talk about building a PC, parts, pros and cons, and we have impressions on Titanfall 2, Doom, Battlefield One and more!

Something tells me this is going to be a long episode. I don't know. Maybe it's because I edit them, but there is something mystical about it all. Or maybe it's miscellaneous? Who knows? Any who, Justin starts this week with, of course, Overwatch. Woo. Pokemon Leaf Green gets a mention, but really it's all about Mafia 3 for, well, the 3 of them. It's a hybrid of sorts. Or not. I don't really understand what that word means, actually. Anthony lets us know he's been playing Gears of War 4, though the real surprise is Color Splash, which is actually is more of a bellyflop. He also tries Emily Wants To Play. I'm not sure she really does. I know the rest of the gang is pretty freaked out. Speaking of freaked out, Brian freaks us out by not liking a "movie game" with him checking out 'Virginia' on the PS4. Too much movie and not enough game for him. Never thought I'd live to see and hear about it. Strange days. Closing it out this week is Gary. He talks a lot about Battlefield One. That's really all I remember. You should probably listen. The Drunken News is still pretty dry. Too dry, really. Sometimes the drive is just too far for some people, and for others it isn't. Go figure. I know this week we're seeing a lot of red. For one, Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the horizon with a trailer release, Blizzard makes some changes to Overwatch (...), and Nintendo announces the 'Nintendo Switch' (finally). If things are a little too coherent, feel free to email and complain.
