In this episode of The Sunday Roast, the team welcomes Shaun Day, Managing Director of Greatland Gold, to discuss the company's recent strategic developments, including the surrender of over 497 million share options by directors and senior employees. This move aligns with Greatland's upcoming dual listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the establishment of a new Australian-incorporated parent company, Greatland Resources Limited. The surrender aims to reduce potential shareholder dilution and adhere to ASX corporate governance principles . Additionally, Joe Belladonna, CEO of Harena Resources, joins to provide insights into their 75%-owned Ampasindava rare earths project in Madagascar. The project boasts a JORC-compliant resource estimate of 698.5 million tonnes and has demonstrated high recovery rates for critical magnet metals like neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium through environmentally friendly heap leach processes . The discussion also covers the broader implications of China's export controls on rare earth elements, the week's major news stories including Trump's tariffs and the passing of Pope Benedict, and a roundup of market movers and shakers. Don't miss this comprehensive update on pivotal developments in the mining sector. 00:00 - 00:15:55 Weekly News Roundup 00:15:55 #GGP Interview 00:34:42 #HREE Interview 00:51:01 #FPP 00:51:54 #CPAI 00:53:33 #BSFA 00:59:04 #PREM 01:01:25 #VAST 01:08:16 #GROC #AMRQ 01:13:06 #ARS 01:13:23 #RMR 01:14:17 #AFP #XTR 01:15:53 TV Recommendation Disclaimer & Declaration of Interest This podcast may contain paid promotions, including but not limited to sponsorships, endorsements, or affiliate partnerships. Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision. During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks. Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. Please consider sharing these stories with your friends and family to support these amazing authors. Write your name in the middle of a page. Circle it, andgive that circle as many legs as you like. At the end of each leg, write something you love. An interest, an activity, a band, a caffeinated beverage, anything. Spend 1-2 minutes filling the page. There's no such thing as ‘random' or ‘irrelevant' or ‘wrong'. Just go for it. 2. Circle three things. Don't think about why you're picking them, just circle. 3. Select one of those three. Decide that whatever you write with that prompt, for fifteen minutes, is (the first draft of) something your dream publisher wants to publish. 4. Write exactly what comes to you, letting yourself have fun. Be curious. Remember there are no wrong answers. Write for fifteen minutes and see where you go. Main exercise: The First-Person Monty Python Helmet Step into a character who loves one of those now. Consider what they see, hear, touch, taste and smell. What do they think in their minds, and feel in their bodies, as a response to their emotions?

Phil Carroll and Kevin Hornsby are joined by Charles Archer, long-term FTSE/AIM investor and freelance financial analyst , working with various platforms including IG Index. He goes by the Twitter/x handle @that_stocks_guy. Join us in this exciting episode as we delve into the thrilling realm of stock investment, analyzing Charles' picks for the best 'growth' stock of the upcoming year. Alongside this, we'll be discussing the latest Autumn Statement from Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, providing insights into its impact on the financial market. December marks a special time for Charles, who, with a burgeoning social media following, has curated a shortlist of potential growth stocks. We'll be dissecting each of these selections, examining their potential for significant gains in the year ahead. The chosen stock promises to be a focal point of our discussions, tracking its trajectory and growth potential throughout the calendar year. Our conversation revolves around specific criteria set by Charles for this selection. The ideal stock should have a market capitalization under £10 million as of 1 December, feature a proactive CEO, boast a straightforward financial structure, and most importantly, hold the promise of delivering multiple returns despite any associated risks. We're looking for hidden gems, steering clear of stocks plagued by red flags or resembling lifestyle companies. The stakes are high, and the anticipation is palpable as we explore the possibility of a 'moonshot' stock with a flagship asset that could yield spectacular returns. We approach this topic with a balance of excitement and caution, emphasizing the high-risk nature of such investments. While the potential rewards are eye-catching, so are the risks. Tune in as we take a deep dive into Charles' picks, offering our analysis and perspective on each one. Remember, this journey is about informed risk-taking and diversification. So, get ready for an informative and engaging exploration into the world of growth stocks, and remember the golden rule: don't go all in. https://investingstrategy.co.uk/stock-tips/penny-stock-shortlist-best-growth-shares-of-2024/ Disclaimer & Declaration of Interest The information, investment views, and recommendations in this podcast are provided for general information purposes only. Don't Forget Your Goat ep.642 No Inquisitor has ever killed a dragon. Rick Danforth is a BSFA award nominated author from Yorkshire, England, where he works as a Systems Architect to fund his writing habit. When not working valiantly in the plot mines, he can be found doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a type of involuntary yoga with uncomfortable pyjamas. His short fiction can be found in Etherea, Translunar Traveller's Lounge, Hexagon and many other places. Most weeks he claims he will soon return to finish his debut novel, but so far these claims have proved unfounded. Phil Carroll and Kevin Hornsby talk to Geoff and Che about their recent US investor roadshow. The company aims to maximize the potential of its listing on the OTCQB market and engage proactively with the US investment community. To support its investor relations and corporate communications activities in the US, BSF has appointed Skyline Corporate Communications Group, LLC as its US Investor Relations agency. Additionally, BSF will participated in the Future Food Tech Summit in New York City and raised its profile with prospective partners and investors in the alternative proteins sector. The company has also established a subsidiary called BSF Enterprise (Hong Kong) Ltd and opened an office in Hong Kong. This strategic move aims to provide access to the Greater China market, which has a significant demand for meat and a thriving biopharmaceutical industry. 3D Bio-Tissues' patented culture media supplement, City-MixTM, offers advantages in the production of cultivated meat and targets the biotech and life sciences sectors in the region. With China's inclusion of cultivated meat in its agricultural plan, the new subsidiary will facilitate the expansion of 3D Bio-Tissues' global network and partnerships. The company plans to establish a web-based sales channel for City-Mix™ in the coming months to aid its direct sales model, catering specifically to the Cultivated Meat market. This channel will provide information, FAQs, and datasheets. The company has also made progress in building its indirect sales network, securing its first distribution partner, Abacus dx, covering Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. This is part of a strategy to penetrate the Biotech and Life Sciences markets. Further European distribution partners are planned, expanding 3DBT's geographic reach. Moreover, 3DBT has entered a confidential contract with a leather company to test and develop lab-grown animal skin for leather production. You remember that part of the bible when Jesus performed the miracle of getting a rabbit to lay chocolate, cream filled eggs? No? Well then you're just not reading the bible right. We dig into what the hell happened for Christians to turn Jesus' resurrection into a fertility festival geared toward grooming children into their "lifestyle". Eostre, Ishtar, Ostara, Esther, and Easter. Just getting this all in for SEO purposes. We talk about all of them. How they connect and how they don't. This month we're talking about one of the all-time classics of science-fiction literature, and arguably the book that demonstrated science-fiction could be literature: Ursula K. Le Guin's The Left Hand Of Darkness, a million-selling Hugo and Nebula winner. We talk about the book's enduring legacy, its approach to worldbuilding, character, and loose(ish) plot, and how the book plays with ideas of light, darkness, a balance of the two, and ultimately, love. We also dig into the book's sexual politics, the extent to which the book is feminist with respect to its portrayals of sex and gender, and the controversies that greeted the book from some surprising sources. Joining us to talk about Le Guin's book is the author Emily Inkpen. Emily was born in South London and raised on the South Coast of England, but moved to Glasgow for her university years and now lives in Berkshire. She juggles copywriting for Marmalade Game Studio with writing novels, short stories and audio drama, and is the Social Media Officer for the BSFA.Elsewhere The Judge talks about monarchies in our writing, particularly pertinent given the recent succession in the UK. We have the winner of the Chrons October 75-word writing challenge, and peace talks at the 43rd Andromeda conference sadly collapse when the discussion turns to the erotic properties of golden eagles. Peak Human - Unbiased Nutrition Info for Optimum Health, Fitness & Living
Hello, hello everyone, it’s time for another great guest on the Peak Human podcast. I’m Brian Sanders the founder of Sapien.org, NoseToTail.org, and creator of the Food Lies film that I continue to work on daily while I do these podcasts and post daily on social media. You can check out clips from the Food Lies film interviews and other presentations I’ve done on the Food Lies youtube channel. Today I’m talking to the great Michael Crawford, PhD. He is a storied researcher and has contributed a lot to our knowledge on brain development, human evolution, and marine foods high in DHA. I think the meat crowd needs to rally behind seafood a bit more and recognize its unique nutrients. He’s a sharp guy for an older fella and there’s a lot to learn in this one! Dr. Michael Crawford is a professor and researcher at the Imperial College of London. He is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Metabolism, Digestion, and Reproduction. This episode was recorded live at Storysmith bookshop in Bristol. I chat to special guest, BSFA-award-winning author Gareth L Powell, about his new book on creative writing, ABOUT WRITING. Then we look at three first pages from listeners' novels and give feedback. This is a great episode to listen to if you want to know: - how can I find time to write? - what does show, don't tell actually mean? - how can I hook a reader with my opening sentences? - why is point of view important? The Fractured Europe series is inspired by Cold War spy fiction: bleak, powerful stories which often rely on national borders for political and narrative tension. Once the Iron Curtain fell, Dave says, the spy genre lost its way. He realised that writing the thriller that he really wanted would mean reintroducing borders. But where would the barriers lie? For some time, he had been thinking about a family of uncanny map-makers. Eventually he had them create different versions of England to overlay our own. The Fractured Europe novels follow a spy, Rudi, as he crosses the boundaries of reality, while Europe itself breaks into ever smaller nation states, some no larger than a city. Dave Hutchinson was born in Sheffield. After reading American Studies at the University of Nottingham, he became a journalist. He’s the author of five collections of short stories and one novel, and his novella The Push was shortlisted for the 2010 BSFA award for short fiction. He has also edited two anthologies and co-edited a third. His short story 'The Incredible Exploding Man' featured in the first Solaris Rising anthology, and appeared in Year’s Best Science Fiction collection. He lives in north London with his wife and several cats. Giuseppe Porcaro is the author of DISCO SOUR, a novel about Europe and democracy in the age of algorithms, among the winners of the Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outrech of the European Union in 2018. Giuseppe is interested in how the intersection between technology and politics is moving towards uncharted territories in the future. He also focuses on narrative-building and political representations in the European Union. He works as the head of communications for Bruegel. Europarama is a podcast series about science fiction and the future of Europe by Giuseppe Porcaro, brought to you by the Are We Europe podcasting family. Europarama is a follow-up project to DISCO SOUR, a novel about Europe and democracy in the age of algorithms.

PATREON SUPPORT NOW STANDING AT 437 – LAST WEEK 437 HELP US GET TO 500 PATREON SUPPORTERS. Main Fiction: "Montpellier" by Ian WhatesIan Whates lives in a sleepy Cambridgeshire village with his partner, Helen, and a manic cocker spaniel called Bundle. A writer and editor of science fiction and fantasy, he is the author of seven novels, the co-author of two more, has seen some seventy of his short stories published, and has edited more than thirty anthologies. Ian served a term as a director of SFWA and is a director of the BSFA, an organisation he chaired for five years. In 2006, Ian founded multiple award-winning independent publisher NewCon Press by accident, and he continues to be baffled by the number of titles the imprint has produced.Narrated by: Mark KilfoilMark “the Encaffeinated ONE” Kilfoil loves fiction, so much so that he’s written some (such as the Parsec-nominated Tainted Roses), read quite a lot (a library of over a thousand half-read books and growing) and now narrates them (sometimes actually recorded for others). He can be heard frequently on CHSRfm.ca, and two of his shows regularly appear as podcasts, and can be found at encaffeinated.ca and theweirdshow.com. He likes cats enough to pet them but not enough to own one, and computers enough to own several but pet none of them. He will someday write a million words, but at this rate, that will require life extension, so he eagerly awaits the ability to upload into a computer, if that hasn’t already happened and this is all only a simulation. My guest for this episode is the scientist and independent author C. John Arthur. Chris has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and now works in medical research. This week, Jonathan and Gary discuss the parameters of climate-influenced SF, the usefulness or not of the term 'cli-fi' (with increasing numbers of SF works set all or partly in the Arctic or Antarctic) and, inevitably, the beginning of the awards season, with the Aurealis and Ditmar awards, the BSFA awards, and the nominees announced this past weekend for the 2018 Hugos. Who is being celebrated on the ballot, and which works were we surprised to see omitted? As always, we hope you enjoy the episode! Correction and apology During this episode we use the incorrect gender pronouns for Yoon Ha Lee. We used she/her when we should have used he/him. We apologise unreservedly for this, and will be sure to correct it in future episodes.
Every year Gary and Jonathan sit down and start talking about "awards season", a short period in the science fiction year that runs from February to November where we take time out to recognise all of the excellent work published in the preceding year. This year they're getting to the job late, having already missed the announcement of the Crawford, the BSFA, and the Stoker ballots. Still, just in the nick of time, they take a moment to discuss possible 2018 Hugo Awards nominees, or at least possible fiction nominees, along with some encouragement for listeners to read, watch, and listen widely, and then nominate what they loved.
Tony Ballantyne is the author of Dream London, the Penrose series and the Recursion series. He has also written many short stories. Recursion, his first novel, was published by Tor UK in 2004. He has been nominated for the BSFA and Philip K Dick awards. He now lives in Oldham with his wife and two children. His hobbies are playing the piano, accordion and cornet. He also enjoys walking and cycling. He is the author of Dream Paris, the follow up to Dream London, and is working on series of stories set in the Recursion universe. Blue Remembered Earth (Gollantz, 2012) takes place roughly 150 years in the future. Climate change, as well as the political and economic rise of Africa, have transformed the planet. Humanity is colonizing the solar system. Geoffrey Akinya, grandson of a visionary businesswoman, cares most about his scientific work with elephants. His sister, Sunday, pursues the life of an artist in an anarchic commune on the moon. But their grandmother’s death sets in motion an interplanetary treasure hunt with the potential to change humanity’s future. Alastair Reynolds‘ latest book has received much critical praise; there’s a sense among some science-fiction writers and fans that Blue Remembered Earth marks an important development in the genre itself. Whatever readers may think of it, Reynolds is a gregarious and fascinating interview subject, and I’m very pleased that he agreed to record this podcast. Alastair Reynolds was born in 1966 in Wales. He holds a PhD in Astronomy and worked at the European Space Agency. His novel Chasm City won the 2002 BSFA, and nearly every one of his novels has been shortlisted for a major award. Reynolds is probably best known for his Revelation Space series. He is currently working on a sequel to Blue Remembered Earth and a Dr. Who novel. Learn more about your ad choices.
