This was a very fun episode with one of the true good guys in coaching who seems like he always has a smile on his face. He is the former Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Coordinator at Clear Lake HS and currently the Offensive Coordinator for the legendary Allen Eagles - welcome Larry McRae to the show! - Growing up in Clute, TX as a typical kid who loved to spend his time out fishing before moving to Angleton in the 5th grade. - Larry shares what it was like playing on the pristine grass at Wildcat Stadium and about the "home field advantage" in that visitors locker room which may or may not have had the AC turned on during football season!! - While many around the halls of Allen HS may now refer to him as "Big Larry" there was once a former NFL Offensive Tackle who hailed from Aldine Eisenhower that gave Larry an even better nickname that was fit for the WWE! The "Bonecrusher" shares what it was like playing in the Big 12 including a matchup with the famed Nebraska Cornhusker "Blackshirt Defense" and future pros Grant Wistrom and Jason Peter. - What it was like starting a new program in long-time "one-horse town" Alvin, TX, and spending many years working the Lineman Challenge circuit and leading one of the best offensive lines in the city before venturing out and leading his own successful program at Clear Lake HS. Coach McRae also shares invaluable advice to parents on what things to look for when deciding which college camps to attend or who to hire as a personal trainer. - Finally as a guy with an eclectic mix of favorite teams we play some fun Mt. Rushmores for the Baylor Bears, Tennessee Titans, and the San Antonio Spurs, before closing out with an Astros Start/Bench/Cut with Altuve, Bagwell, and Biggio!! Join the Team Player Revolution! Sylvia Clute is a self-described "legal system innovator" and "social justice change agent". Her bona fides and honors are extensive. She is the author of several books. Her new book "Unitive Justice - "Bending the Arc of Justice Towards Love" - is due out soon. She has made it her life's mission to push for a shift from a punitive justice system to a unitive one. She is leading the first Unitive Justice International Conference October, 2 - 4, 2023 in Richmond, Va. Sara Daves is a manifest and purpose coach and author who was determined to find her path and purpose after the loss of her son. She witnessed a broken justice system first hand when her son Trey was forced to plead guilty to a crime he did not commit only to pass away just six weeks after his release. Sara committed herself to "helping others learn to create strong, loving relationships with themselves and reclaim their lives from trauma and the broken social systems that perpetuate painful cycles." Our conversation ranges from defining unitive justice, how and why it works, a for-profit prison system that perpetuates itself, and Sara's work in Uganda where she helped build the first unitive justice school named after her son, Trey. Links: Sylvia Clute Sara Daves Unitive Justice International Conference Alliance For Unitive Justice Good Eye Podcast A brief description of unitive justice vs. punitive justice: Unitive justice and punitive justice are two distinct approaches to the concept of justice, each with its own principles and goals. Unitive justice, also known as restorative justice focuses on repairing the harm caused by a wrongdoing and restoring relationships between individuals or communities. The primary emphasis is on healing, reconciliation, and addressing the underlying causes of the conflict or harm. Unitive justice seeks to involve all stakeholders, including the victim, offender, and community, in a collaborative process to find solutions that address the harm and prevent future incidents. Punitive justice, also known as retributive justice, is the traditional approach to justice that focuses on punishing offenders for their wrongdoing as a means of retribution and deterrence. The primary goal of punitive justice is to impose penalties that are proportionate to the offense committed, with the intention of providing a sense of justice to victims and deterring potential offenders. Unitive justice prioritizes healing, reconciliation, and the restoration of relationships, whereas punitive justice emphasizes punishment as a means of retribution and deterrence.

There are friends of the Podcast, and then there's family. We've been talking to the great and glorious John Clute -- writer, critic, encyclopedist, and more -- since 2010. Whether it's been about events at the SF Encyclopedia, happenings in SF, or some other thing, he has always been warm, witty, and wise. Today Gary called John in Camden to talk about what he's been reading and what he'd recommend, while also spending some time chatting about his latest collection of essays, Sticking to the End. As always, our thanks to John for making the time. We hope you enjoy the podcast.

Plugged In - The Official Podcast for JSerra Catholic High School
Students struggle in school for a variety of reasons. How do parents recognize when their son or daughter's academic struggle deserves expert attention? How do they help their teenage child to overcome the stigma associated with learning challenges? In this mini-podcast, JSerra's Director of Learning and Academic Support, Drew Clute, tackles a topic which is touching upon more and more parents via their teenagers' academic experience. Drew steps us through the methods and the means parents and teachers can use together in order to hearten young people facing academic trials and arm them with the tools to bring them through with confidence and success. ABOUT THE GUEST Drew Clute is the Director of Learning and Academic Support at JSerra where he oversees multiple programs that provide support for various student groups on campus. Drew earned a bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration Fresno State University (2006) and a certificate in serving under-privileged and at-risk youth. No matter what may be happening in the world, it is always a time of opportunity. Old ways are ending. New possibilities are appearing. And what can emerge in these times we are in seems, in a sense, infinite. In this far-reaching conversation, Aviv invites Jeff Vander Clute to reflect on where we've been, where we are, how we can ask the right questions, and how we can thrive as we unfold, consciously, into the next chapter. Join us for Thriving Now with Jeff Vander Clute. KEY TAKEAWAYS 02:13 – Jeff Vander Clute joins the show to share keys for thriving in the new pattern he's observed 14:07 – Aviv presents Five Threads to express a unique experience he had at a recent weekend workshop 27:57 – The two different energy centers of love 34:06 – The importance of self-alignment practices 48:43 – Enlightened living and Aviv's personal transformation 1:04:35 – Aviv speaks to the history and influence of religion 1:16:44 – Different evolutionary cycles 1:20:26 – Aviv ends with one final thought-provoking inquiry TWEETABLE QUOTES “We can let go of the idea of the starving artist, we can let go of the ideas that you can't be spiritual and prosperous. This really is a new time. And I would say that the new economy that's also emerging, and we can't see it fully yet - although if you look at the grassroots, you see it more clearly - is an economy of many to many connections. Is an economy that is distributed, decentralized, radically inclusive.” (06:37) (Jeff)“So in the business world, I would encourage people that ‘How' leads you to tactic, ‘What' leads you to strategy, and ‘Why' leads you to purpose.” (37:24) (Aviv)“I wanted to cede, maybe for future conversation, the word infinitization because I've noticed that what's happening is, pretty much wherever I look and am having conversations with other people who are looking closely and inquiring deeply into the real nature of things, what we thought was finite is infinite. So money is actually infinite curiously enough because our economies are based on the notion of scarcity, either real or artificially imposed. So, when we look at the twenty-one ways we are trained to take big things and make them small, I think in terms of all the ways in which we try to take the infinite, all, and turn it into something bite-sized and somehow separate so that we can analyze and distinguish one thing from another as if they're two things.” (50:30) (Jeff)“When we look at the headlines we might think the world is going to hell in a handbasket, but maybe we're just entering into the next cycle. But the beginning of the cycle is a cycle - or a sub cycle - of conflict and working it out, hopefully with much less tumultuousness and violence compared to the past.” (1:17:38) (Jeff)“If the new emerging operating system is to be true, it will have to include all of it. If it cannot include all of it, it simply is a flawed operating system. How do we include all of it and remain safe for ourselves and for each other and give permission for an ecosystem that is not just sustainable, but is regenerative and will bring to light the new possibilities of tomorrow?” (1:20:26) (Aviv) RESOURCES MENTIONED Portals of Perception WebsiteAviv's LinkedIn Aviv's TwitterAviv's WebsiteJeff's LinkedIn

Still #notsponseredby#MaiselsBrauerei. Holger will kein Sponsoring. Glow ist ein Geschmack. Ursendungsdifferenzen. Der vanDusen Podcast Podcast. Bewertungs-Feminismus. Traumschiff Reminiszenzen. Wo bleiben die Prinzessinnen? Neue Podcast - bzw Trinkspiel Ideen. Wir kommen net zum Punkt. Cromer Impressionen. Erik schwärmt. Briefmarkenkunde. Das ist ein sehr merkwürdiger Podcast. Das literarische Trio. Mit Zombies. Erik und vanDusen mahnen zum Thema. Postminister aber keine Briefmarke? Ich schreibe zu wenig Briefe. Hashtags auf Briefen, was es alles gibt. Krawonische Strafen. Schattenpenis. So viel Strand gibt's in Cromer garnet. Länge mal Breite mal Tiefe. Sand. Was erkennt man bitte an einer Fußspur im Sand? Unterwäsche, durchwühlt. Ein echter Seemann kann eine Frau ersetzen. Amicus Curiae Definitionsdiskussion. Alles - ein bisschen. Hermetisch verschlossener Raum mit Löchern. It’s been one year since the novel Coronavirus that we call COVID19 emerged on the global stage. At that time, I invited my friend, Jeff Vander Clute to come on The Dr. Julie Show and share his insights. Jeff connected with the novel life form and asked it to tell him about itself. What came through was a list of its top gifts, followed by a powerful message for humanity. There’s a poignant gift and vital message for all with ears to hear. One year later, I bring Jeff back to revisit the lessons and wisdom of COVID19 and the year of 2020.
The realization of our oneness with all that is requires that we fully love our lives, which includes loving the entirety of existence. Only then can we perceive the total indivisibility of life, for we are holding nothing outside of our love, including money. Jeff Vander Clute explains that when we see through the eyes of oneness, we recognize that each of us is all of life experiencing itself from a different angle, so to speak. All is connected, all is one, and everyone and everything is included. Loving our lives is a direct path for realizing our divinity, and in loving our lives fully we gain the ability to create a loving world for all.
The Texas power outage has taught us many things. Most importantly, it exposed the state’s fragile power grid. As extreme weather events continue, we have an opportunity to tune into a greater power—a higher power—and navigate these liminal times with far less fear, anxiety, and unnecessary hardship. Our guest today says, “Nature is going to teach us how to evolve and adapt.” The answers lie in accessing, or “sourcing,” the wisdom of Life itself.
Davis Clute, co-founder and CEO of Hiccapop, joins Ari and Sam to talk about founding and running his business - an innovative baby product company with eight-figure annual revenue - as well as the fundamental business strategies that landed him a spot on the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Retail and E-Commerce. In addition to his successful business, Davis also dives into his passion for teaching others about entrepreneurship and classic business strategies, which led him to author his book 'How to Start a Business (In 50 Pages)' which can be found on Amazon.
On today's episode we sit down with Davis Clute. Davis is the co-founder of Hiccapop, an Amazon FBA brand doing just under $25M a year in revenue. Davis and his co-founders started this brand just years ago and using Amazon FBA have grown it into an 8-figure brand. Connor and Giovanni sit down with Davis to talk about how he got started, learn stories from him importing thousands of products, and what his plans are for the future. If you enjoy today's episode please be sure to subscribe to the podcast and leave us a review.
Davis Clute talks to Avianna about his childhood, his obsession with economics and his path toward founding Hiccapop. They chat about sourcing products abroad, prototyping and being willing to fail. They laugh over their common admiration for Warren Buffet and Davis gets transparent about his company's finances. They chat about working with Amazon, teaching and promoting financial literacy. Overall, Davis wants people to know that "boring is sexy."

They've been playing together for about 2 years, but Tony and Daniel have been playing together for closer to 5 years. DFN started as a a fun cover band, but evolved over time till they cut the covers out of the set. DFN consists of Daniel, on vocals and guitar, Tony on bass, Josh on guitar, and Justin on drums. Between the four of them they've played most of the clubs in Austin, but most often it was Dirty Dog, Texas Mist, and Sidewinder/Red Eyed Fly. Welcome to Season 12 of the Coode Street Podcast. This year we're repeating our commitment to bring you at least twenty-six hour-long episodes where our hosts, Gary K. Wolfe and Jonathan Strahan, talk about science fiction and stuff with little or no coherent purpose, and occasionally interact with interesting people. There will also be additional episodes and bits and pieces, but they'll come in due time. John Clute and Science Fiction Repeating the Future This week we're delighted to be joined by the venerable John Clute, who talks to us from a weirdly deserted Camden Town in London, discussing the impact of World War I on the surprisingly large numbers of scientific romance writers of the 1920s and 1930s, some provocative ideas which John laid out in his 2017 Telluride talk "Those who do not understand Science Fiction are Condemned to Repeat It", including the notion of “techno-occultism,” what's happened with space opera, generation starships, and apocalyptic literature, and what's wrong with the idea of self-driving cars. As usual with John, there are a lot more ideas that pop up along the way. I suspect, on reflection, some of us are more optimistic about the future of science fiction and the world than this chat suggests, but we hope you enjoy it and want to sincerely thank John for making the time to talk to us.

Dr. Shannon Clute joins Mike to share his broad and varied experiences in education, innovation, marketing, and digital media. He begins by telling the story of his early experiments with podcasting and other new media to innovate in higher education where Shannon was a Professor of French Literature. In the early 2000s, he launched an enormously successful podcast called Out of the Past: Investigating Film Noir that began as an innovative project for his students but rapidly grew in broader appeal. From this experience, Shannon began to understand the value of pursuing your passion projects and being flexible and opportunistic in your career choices. From there, he transitions to a marketing role at Turner Classic Movies before ultimately returning to academia now leading The Hatchery, The Center for Innovation at Emory University. In a wide-ranging conversation, Shannon reinforces the critical importance of knowing your customers and shifting from push to pull dynamics when it comes to program development and innovation. It's a fascinating conversation and we look forward to staying in touch with Shannon as he grows and evolves the program through great design thinking and product discovery. We hope you enjoy. We sat down with Brian Eslinger and discussed his run for Watkins Glen Village Trustee as well as a multitude of hot topics. Why were our electric bills so high last month? This hits at about an hour and 12 minutes in. This was a very long interview, but very informative and interesting. It lasts about an hour and a half, so we recommend listening to it on iTunes or another podcast client so you can pause and start where you left off. Enjoy! Brad and Stacy

It's another Readercon episode! First, Liz Hand rejoins the show for a little conversation about what she's been reading lately (it's some creepy stuff, of course), the regenerative aspects of Readercon, why the novella is ideal for dark/spooky fiction, and whether the attendee wearing an ASIA t-shirt is doing so ironically. Then John Clute talks about the ruins of futurity and the launch of the Clute Science Fiction Library at Telluride Institute. We get into the need for visual presentation and accessibility of original books in their context (including dust jackets), his transition from book accumulator to collector, the externalization of one's mind into one's library, why he doesn't write fiction, the Easter eggs he sneaks into the Science Fiction Encyclopedia, why Galaxy Quest is the best Star Trek movie (except for Wrath of Khan), reaching a uniform degree of incompletion, generational shifts in SF/F, and the sneaky adoption of Fantastika.
