(Adult female: 655 + (4.3 x weight in lbs.) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years) = BMRThen multiply that number by activity rate. 1.2 - light exercise 1-3 times a week, 1.55 moderate activity 3-5 days, very active hard 5-7 daysThis will give you a total number to MAINTAIN weight. From there I either cut calories or increase calories depending on goal.How to determine how much of each macro from caloriesI start with protein first. Depending on dieting history and body type I will determine protein from body weight. If they can I will simply stay with 1 g / lb body weight. If they have quite a bit of weight to lose I will put protein at what their goal weight is. To determine fats: I generally start with fats totaling 30% of total calories. Divide this number by 9 and you will get your fats.The rest is filled with carbs: I add up calories from protein and calories from fats. Subtract this number from total calories, divide by 4 and you have your carb total.The other way is to have the client track calorie intake for a week along with weight and report numbers to me. To me this is easier in tweaking macro for each person rather than formula.It is still trial and error for the first few weeks and macro numbers may have to be tweaked.Each week macros may or may not be adjusted based on weight, pictures, and biofeedback.8. Casies Method: Bodyweight x 10 = Calories9. macro sourcesProtein: normal animal meats, protein powder, BARS?, egg whites, whole eggs, etc…Carbs: breads, rice, cereals, vegetables, fruits, cream of rice …(just go over our favorites)Fats: oils, nuts, nut butters, avocados...etc10. Robin grew up in a military family and lived in 10 different states before entering college. Her dedication to gymnastics as a young girl gave her drive and purpose. It not only prepared her for her physically active future, but it also taught her structure and discipline in school, in athletics, and in life. Robin's history competing in gymnastics set her up for success in the world of CrossFit and eventually, she became competitive in CrossFit as well. Like a lot of the women in our programs, Robin admits that at the time of her breast cancer diagnosis, she was the healthiest she's ever been. When she first discovered a lump on Christmas Eve in 2015, she had just finished the '12 days of Chrismas' WOD. She opens up about her own experience with depression and struggle to find the right help. Ria shares her story of being authentic and sharing her truth and how these tools helped her move through the dark times.  Ria advises those struggling with depression to practice honesty and compassion. The reality is, this isn't you vs. me, or you vs. your neighbor. You NOT working out DOES NOT impact me, it impacts YOU. YOUR health, YOUR mental well being, YOUR energy levels. Make your choice. You might say, doing nothing today is exactly what I need to do today. That's fine! There’s nothing wrong with that! Don't feel guilty if that's your choice. But own it. Today I discuss a common fallacy in doctor's offices and health care groups, regarding their excuses for not giving their patients access to shockwave therapy for ED and sexual performance. Just because something is not FDA Approved, doesn't mean it's not safe. Conversely, just because something IS FDA Approved, DOES NOT mean it's completely safe. Therefore, FDA Approval DOES NOT EQUAL Safety. This is a common misconception, but the FDA's rule-of-thumb for approving a drug is "benefits outweighing the risks." This means there can still be dangerous risks associated with something that is FDA Approved. No one should really on FDA Approval as the only means of effectiveness and safety. Instead, people should read the clinical studies and rely on the actual clinical evidence, not just blindly trust the FDA. The FDA has retracted many drugs after people have died using them, so they're not always right either. I highly recommend everyone read the clinical evidence behind any claim and any treatment, as well as question the side effects and effectiveness. It's doctors and health groups like this that insist FDA Approval equals Safety and Effectiveness, which simply just isn't true, and again, the clinical evidence trumps anyone's opinion, including mine, the FDA's, and your doctor's. Epigenetics is the Power of You!“We are not victims of our genes, but masters of our fates, able to create lives overflowing with peace, happiness, and love.” – Bruce Lipton.Have you ever said something, or acting in a way that was a direct copy of your mom, dad, or someone that influenced you as a child? Or that you look just like your mother or father?Our whole lives we’ve heard about our pre-determined doom and gloom of our genetic destiny based on our ancestory.When DNA was discovered – only a short 64 years ago – it made sense parts of our chromozone are passed down from generation to generation.Scientists believed our DNA decoded our individuality and the promise of an ending disease.Many of us (and its really not us, its the pattern) will say things like, “See? That’s why I’m depressed.” Enter - whichever parent handed down your “ default habit.”Science is now pointing away from the idea that your DNA is the key to why you are the way you are.We now know – through epigenetics – that you have immense control over your genetic expressions. More than we’ve ever realized before.I call it the 80/20 rule.Epigenetic have proven that 80% EVERYDAY lifestyle decisions determines the outcome of your health and beauty. Only 20% is determined by your coded DNA.Our genes by continuously sending information that affects cellular function. Restoration, repair, nutrition and cellular division activities can all be impacted by negative Epigenetic interactions.And yet, so many of us hold on to the idea that we are our genes. Collectively we’ve become victims of our DNA.This is a mindset and old pattern of belief that is being corrected globally corrected, and fast!We now know that we are able to change our genetic expressions through environmental inputs. There are a series of chemical tags on our DNA (our epigenome) that determines which genes are turned up, down, on or off.This is very important because it means we aren’t simply expressions of DNA but dynamic and powerful beings. We are influenced by habits, diet, life experience, our childhood, social influences, community, the environment, and probably hundreds of other factors not yet considered.So what does this mean? Simply this: It means that you have a chance to rewrite your health, life, and future.Epigenetics also means that having a “genetic predisposition” does NOT equate genetic expression.Just because your grandfather or father had Alzheimer’s or your mom had lupus - DOES NOT mean you are doomed and a victim of those genes.Only one percent of disease and illness are caused by genetics. And yet people still give DNA an unwarranted amount of authority over their lives.You have an immense amount of power to influence your life, and more than on a superficial level – it’s possible to impact your genetic expression on a biological level.What is Epigenetics?EPI-genetics is the key to how you can change your life experiences and the inner knowing and action to stop being a victim.Simply by being aware of epigenetics, you can gain more control over your life.Here’s how it works: Each cell in your body is wrapped in a cell membrane. Cell membranes are the regulators of your body.These membranes control which molecules are allowed in and out of your cells. These molecules have the ability to turn genes on, off, up or down.Epigenetics is the study of how your physical characteristics change, depending on how your cells read your genes.Your physical characteristics are influenced by your epigenome – the collection of chemical tags on your DNA.Some of your genes are being read and therefore expressed as character traits.But then there are other genes that aren’t being read and therefore are not expressed.And unlike DNA which remains relatively the same throughout your life, your epigenome can be changed through environmental factors.What Influences Your Genetic Expression?There are thousands, millions, probably billions of factors that influence your genetic expression.Here are some epi (control over your biology) expression in our daily life that directs our mind-body - and they only scratch the surface.Your thoughts – Becoming the master gardener of your mind is the most crucial and critically important starting point. Our spirit mind sends out frequencies to our entire body, directly impacting your genetic expression through the release of hormones and chemicals. Where the mind goes - the energy (and epiginetic stream) flows.Medications – American’s lead the world in pharmaceutical consumption at 75% even though we are only 4.4 percent of the global population. Yikes. We know medications impact the epigenome. Medication alter the state of our health. While at times, necessary, Amerians grow more sick, depressed and numb as they partake in the “belief” that medications will solve the problem. This goes back to lifestyle and the power of the mind.Diet – Food really is medicine. Your diet directly impacts your epigenome and what genes are expressed. The field of nutrigenomics is a growing and inspiring field.Stress levels – Stress impacts cortisol levels, a potent hormone. If you work in a high-stress environment it’s a good idea to counterbalance this with relaxation techniques.If you felt loved growing up – Positive and negative experiences are carried with you into your adult life. BUT through epigenetics and awareness, you have the power to positively change negative impacts through clearing the subconcious files that are stored - leaving too many tabs open in your mind-body. Clinical hypnotherapy is a great tool to clean up all the small and large truamas in your life.Exercise – How often and how much you workout impacts your epigenome – but you might be surprised that this doesn’t mean working out harder and faster, which has been shown to negatively impact hormone levels. Sweat induces lymphatic flow and help release toxins, increase cardiovascular health and teh release of hormones such as endorphins - that turn on our happy genes.Environmental factors – Studies have only just begun identifying chemicals that alter the epigenome. This may be teh epidemic of the generations to come. We must be teh gaurd of our body and environmental ecosystem - because it effects us - while we do not even know it. Think of the fish - not seeing the water it lives in.  Your gut microbiome – The most important DNA in your body isn’t your own. Your gut microbiome is the collection of genes of the 40 trillion microorganisms in your gastrointestinal tract. It’s being called your ‘second brain,’ because its role in your life is that important. Pretty incredible right? It’s also incredibly empowering.  It means that you have the power to change your biology through beliefs, lifestyle choices, managing stress levels, aging more gracefully by reversing our telomeres and more.You now know that you aren’t a victim to your DNA.You now know that you have the power to influence your life, more than you probably realized.Your DNA is a dynamic roadmap consisting of a series of paths you get to choose throughout your life. You can change the narrative of your life through everyday choices and the ecosystem you create - mind - body spirit and ENERGETICALLY.You were made to grow and bloom. Do YOU know what the difference between a bar, and a restaurant with a bar is? Families. Seems easy, but apparently some people have trouble distinguishingbetween the two.  It is perfectly acceptable take babies and children in to restaurants with bars in them, especially during "normal" dining hours. After all, life does not have to stop just because you have children.  BUT, metaphorically speaking, your family is like a business and your kids are like your employees meaning THEY HAVE TO BE MANAGED. What annoys the "get that kid away from a bar" crowd isn't their moral compass, it's their patience. No one, including myself, likes to be around loud and disruptive kids while trying to enjoy a night out. And by disruptive I mean the kids that are allowed to run around a restaurant or public setting with reckless abandon with zero accountability held to them. By all means, take your kids out and enjoy your family, because life DOES NOT stop when you have children. Just manage them.  That makes "the parents that take their kids in to public settings and let them do whateber they want" the parents that I wish that I could set straight.  What are yours?

You can only know Christ through His word and His spirit.You'll know if you're hearing from His spirit if you're in His word.We learn that just because things may resonate with us in the world it doesn't mean it's biblically true.If we say we're Christians we're saying we align with the teaching's of Jesus Christ and to be in alignment with them we have to know them. How to make time for God's Word:We first need to realize that we've Americanized "quiet time" with The Lord. It will never be the "perfect setting" especially as seasons change in our lives.Try doing 3x a week deep study. On the other days read through the Psalms and read it back to The Lord.Just show up.We make time for what we care about. Holy Spirit:In scripture is always accompanied by He when talked about.Power to dwell in us for a specific task - dwells in us for a specific task.Does NOT lead to disorders and disarray.It leads, teaches, and equips.It will NEVER lead you to sin and will NEVER contradict His word. Conformation in His word and questions to ask when you're in prayer:If you're in His word and you know what The Word says you can trust Him to lead you.Does the principle match who God says He is?Would this action glorify God and bless others?Does this sanctify, grow, and mature me? What would you tell someone who asked what they needed to begin living with less of in regards to becoming more like Christ?Living with less shallow distractions.
