En entrevista para MVS Noticias con Manuel López San Martín, Luciana Wainer, colaboradora de MVS Noticias, habló sobre que, la droga en México registra un aumento de consumo. Wainer señaló que, según un informe de la Comisión Nacional de Salud Mental y Adicciones, el consumo de metanfetaminas ha experimentado un alarmante aumento del 400 por ciento en los últimos diez años. "El informe revela que las metanfetaminas han crecido de manera exponencial. Asimismo, los casos de fentanilo han pasado de una decena en 2019 a más de 400 en 2023”, destacó Wainer. ¿Qué camino ha tomado la política de drogas en el país? En respuesta a esta crisis, se aprobó recientemente una reforma que eleva a rango constitucional las prohibiciones en el ámbito de drogas sintéticas. "Este panorama plantea la pregunta de qué medidas concretas se están tomando para enfrentar el problema", añadió. Adriana Muro, Directora Ejecutiva de "Elementa," aportó una perspectiva crítica sobre los cambios en la política de drogas. Muro recordó que al inicio de la administración de Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) se prometió una reforma en la política de drogas, pero observó que, en realidad, se ha fortalecido el enfoque bélico. "En el plan C, del que tanto se habla, se ha pasado por alto una importante cuestión: la elevación a nivel constitucional de la prohibición del fentanilo", dijo Muro. ¿Cuál es una de las principales problemáticas en el país respecto a las drogas? Uno de los mayores retos identificados es el aumento de las sobredosis, especialmente debido al fentanilo. Alfonso Chávez del Programa de Reducción de Daños en Tijuana, destacó la falta de recursos necesarios para combatir este problema. "El fentanilo ha llevado a un incremento en las sobredosis, y la falta de naloxona, un medicamento crucial para revertir estas sobredosis, es una gran preocupación”, explicó Chávez. Elementa ha desarrollado una radiografía general sobre el tema, proporcionando información valiosa para entender la complejidad del problema. "Hay tantos ángulos cuando hablamos de drogas. La situación del fentanilo, por ejemplo, tiene implicaciones internacionales, especialmente con Estados Unidos. Este problema no solo afecta la salud y la criminalización, sino también aspectos de género e ingresos", concluyó Wainer.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Wanaka filmmaker Richard Sidey is offering us the chance to reconnect with the world's wilderness areas, in his ambitious documentary spanning seven continents and filmed over 5 years.
