In this emotional and revealing episode, we spoke with Brad Fischetti, the last surviving member of the iconic boyband LFO. After the heartbreaking loss of a third bandmate, Brad opened up about how he's coping, why he doesn't believe in the so-called “LFO curse,” and the legacy of his fallen brothers. From reliving the band's highs to confronting the rumors, this interview goes deep into what it's like to carry the torch alone. Recently featured on the Veganpreneur Revolution podcast, Angela's story is one of passion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to empowering others. The Evolution of Passion Angela's journey began in an unexpected place: the world of performing arts. As a former singer and actress, she initially pursued a career centered around the stage. However, it was the influence of fitness icon Jane Fonda that sparked a profound shift in her trajectory. Drawn to the world of fitness through Fonda's iconic workout tapes, Angela discovered a newfound passion that would shape her life's purpose. Overcoming Adversity Entering the fitness industry as a female trainer, Angela encountered skepticism and criticism, particularly from male bodybuilders. Yet, it was her unwavering commitment to veganism that often drew the most scrutiny. Despite facing derogatory remarks and doubts about her dietary choices, Angela remained steadfast, driven by her ethical convictions and belief in holistic wellness. Navigating the Vegan Landscape Angela's journey into veganism was marked by a fluid exploration of dietary approaches, culminating in a personalized blend of whole food, plant-based nutrition. Inspired by her connection to animals and ethical considerations, Angela found her optimal balance with an 80% raw and 20% cooked diet. This nutritional framework not only aligned with her values but also served as a cornerstone of her approach to holistic wellness. Bridging Fitness and Compassion Central to Angela's professional journey is the seamless integration of her passion for fitness with her advocacy for veganism. Specializing in senior fitness programs, Angela witnessed firsthand the transformative power of physical activity and plant-based nutrition, particularly among older adults. Through her work, she empowered clients to defy age-related limitations, rediscover their vitality, and embrace a renewed sense of purpose. You'll also learn: What it means to be in a skills market How to get back to the basics of real estate The opportunities you have for current client referrals How to improve your presentation skills And much more Quotes Surround yourself with givers. - Jay Fischetti We are now in a skills market. - Jay Fischetti Key Points 1. The market has shifted to being a skills market. This means that a lot of agents are going to be struggling to meet their goals. However, there are still agents who are doing great, so learning from their success is key. 2. You have three great opportunities to generate referrals from current clients. These occur when the client's confidence is at a high point, such as when you sign a contract. This is when it is critical that you ask the right questions. 3. Many agents have trouble clearing their minds to do lead generation when they have administrative tasks waiting for them. This means that they will have to come in even earlier and start their day by clearing out those tasks. 4. Mindset is crucial in this business. You have to learn to say no when necessary. Also, you can't bring any negativity or outside pressures with you. If you are on an appointment, it is critical that you leave everything outside of that appointment and be 100% present for the client.

On April 3rd the culinary world lost a teacher and a mentor to many. Jerry Fischetti was a professor I had in college who profoundly impacted the way I saw mental health care, self care and empathy within the food industry. This is a re-published episode from 2019, in which he was one of the first guests on the show when I started out. I hope listening gives you the insight into why so many respected Professor and the way he saw and cared for the students of the culinary world. I'll forever be grateful for the time spent knowing him and hope sharing his message honors him in some way. Below is the post sharing on how great of a person he was per The Culinary Institute of America Alumni Network: Celebrating Jerry Fischetti '78 The CIA received incredibly sad news that Professor Jerry Fischetti'78 passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, after a brief illness. He retired from the college in 2021 but continued to teach online through the fall semester. Professor Fischetti was beloved by students, fellow faculty and staff. Professor Fischetti joined the CIA faculty in 1998 and was a member of the opening team for the Apple Pie Bakery Café. As a member of the School of Business and Management, he taught a variety of courses including Professionalism and Life Skills, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Introduction to Hospitality. He was selected faculty member of the year in 2011. In addition to being an AOS graduate from the CIA, he completed a bachelor's at Florida International University and a master's at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Professor Fischetti spent many years in the hospitality industry before joining the college as a faculty member. He was director of catering at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta. His industry niche was private clubs, and he was food and beverage manager at Druid Hill Golf Club (Atlanta) and general manager of Kirkbrae Country Club (Providence). Professor Fischetti' s true calling was in the classroom. He loved his students and teaching, and his students loved him. A student wrote in a reflection paper the following: “Professor Fischetti is more than just a hospitality expert, he is a dreamer, a romantic and a storyteller. He taught us that if you can dream it you can do it. Many people dream about retiring in Europe, but he actually did it. His retirement plans inspire me to not hold back on my dreams but put words into actions. “ We all wish Jerry would have had more time living his best life in Portugal with Tonka, his four-legged companion, and many new friends. But his mark on countless students (and faculty and staff) has been immeasurable, and his memory at the CIA will live on.

Many people believe that by the time they become seniors, they are destined to deal with aches and pains, inflammation, disease, and days filled with taking various types of medication. Yet, there are those who have made it their life's work to prove otherwise. In today's episode, Angela Fischetti, a whole foods plant exclusive/vegan physical fitness and yoga instructor and massage therapist, specializing in wellness for older adults, shares how virtually anyone who identifies as a “senior” can live a vibrant, health, whole life. As a senior myself (just shy of turning 69), I found our conversation extremely enlightening, engaging and one I highly recommend others watch and listen to. Angela began teaching seniors in her thirties, at a time when she embarked on her own tough healing journey. Three decades later, a senior herself, Angela combines years of experience and research with a unique combination of empathy and encouragement for older adults seeking a healthier lifestyle. http://www.veganvisibility.com/111-angela-fischetti
This week on Wellbeing, we speak with John Fischetti, a professor of education from the University of Newcastle. In this episode, following on from my last interview with Professor Fischetti a few months ago, we discuss the changing attitudes to wellbeing in universities. John has seen wellbeing become a main focus of universities in his four decades in the educational field. Seeing student wellbeing going from being a topic rarely, if ever, discussed when he was first at uni as a student in the mid 70's, to now being a professor in at a university where student wellbeing is talked about every day. In this episode, Professor Fischetti talks about the development of student wellbeing becoming a part of unis, the support services available to students at unis, more wellbeing friendly examination methods, the importance of good nutrition for students on campus, meeting the wellbeing needs of a diverse range of students and the supports available for indigenous students. “Students are so busy, most of our students working while they are going to school and rushing, not taking the time to eat right and you add that to not sleep and maybe a little extra caffeine, you end up in a burnout mode...and that's just not healthy.” - Prof. John Fishchetti on this episode of Wellbeing Tune in in the New Year when we begin a series on Anorexia. This week on Wellbeing, we speak with John Fischetti, a professor of education from the University of Newcastle. In this episode we discuss Student Wellbeing in universities. John has seen wellbeing become a main focus of universities in his four decades in the educational field. Seeing student wellbeing going from being a topic rarely, if ever, discussed when he was first at uni as a student in the mid 70's to now being a professor in one where it is talked about everyday. In this episode Prof Fischetti talks about the role of universities with student wellbeing, the improvement in the wellbeing of students since returning from online studies during the lockdown period, the wellbeing topics on the radar of universities, the needs for student to have movement in their day, the wellbeing support services available for students, the pressure of examinations, and how far the area of student wellbeing has come along in his long four decade uni career. “Some students pull that all-nighter still or they don't really start on their Uni work till 11 or midnight, I've not seen anybody's best work happen then. You feel busy, you might be hyped up; you might be stressed, but what I would rather do is we flipped it. If you're going to be friends and socializing from six to ten, then working on your Uni work from ten to one, flip it around.” - Prof. John Fischetti on this episode of Wellbeing Tune in next week when we discuss student wellbeing in schools with a teacher from the UK. This episode is with one of the industry's most colorful characters - 1991 World Champion, Chris 'the Flyin Fish' Fischetti The Fish was one of the rock stars of the early 90s and was always easy to spot, even amongst the bright colors, due to his signature shark fin that he wore on his back. Not only was the Fish a weapon in the water, but he was a great leader in the community out of it, starting the Fish Syndicate. His dad, affectionately known as Pops, was his leading mechanic and between them they had some amazing machines, at times having an edge over their rivals at PJS. Listen in for not only some amazing set up tips, but some crazy stories from the scene in the 90s with all your favorite legends Show notes: You're loved in the community, you started the Fish Syndicate, tell us about that Everyone who ran the show for the jet skis went straight to X Games You guys were rock stars back then, it was a beach party with a jet ski event Running into Troy Lee It must have been so much fun to be on a tour like this Fish's Adventure - tell us about that Scott Watkins was the best rider who did Jet Dreams and then moved to Jet Pilot - he was the guy The jet ski tour really blew up after the big jetski videos Tell us about the Paris indoor race series in Bercey, that must have been great! What do you remember about the Australian Surf Series racing against Todd Ross and Scott Miller? How did you all go over to race in Japan? Jet skis were manufactured in Nebraska and distributed from there Where did your shark fin come from? Your business Hole Shot Engineering and the X2 650 Supercharger The supercharger giving you the edge against the PJS riders You had fierce rivalries but were great friends off the track, what trouble did you guys cause back in the day? Fort Worth, Texas race in 1990 and you have a throttle linkage issue and ended 15th You're always doing R&D, everything you needed you had to bring with you You had good support from a bunch of sponsors: Hole Shot, Mariner, Sano Pads, Solas Impellers, Jet Pilot, Oakley, Arai Helmets, Graydon Proline and Gold's Gym to name a few I started off racing for Fun Tech who made “The Wedge” What's the story with Bum Bum? Tell us about the 1990 World Finals 1991 you became World Champion, but you got badly injured in a car accident! Two weeks after the crash was the first of the Hot Water Tour, I hit someone's ski and I fractured my arm Your dad was a monster engine builder involved with Indycar His race savvy was a huge advantage 1991 was the pinnacle for the 550 engines with an engine your dad made for you It forced us to run a stock flywheel Explain the water cooling system for the bearing Was that your favourite 550 engine? How did you modify the pump? We built the pump, bent and tuned the props, lightened drive line, worked on the steering and intake, dad build the cranks, pistons and the carbs My dad hand built all of this in our garage What was it like competing against a factory backed rider using your own parts? Secrecy in the pits Jeff Jacobs used lead on his ski to keep the nose down, did you do that too? Scoop grates and the ride plate length are important What did it feel like winning the World Championship in 1991? There was no social media, you had to attend events Handling: Fish Sticks - Rhaas Five5Zero Sponsons: tell us about them! This is the first mod that you should do to your ski Having the handle pull height right and having a short steering plate, to make the steering Wedge some foam under the handle pull to stop it dropping too low Engine setup: Have a good set of carbs that you can tune well Your best racing memory: Famous desert parties and the World Finals How many “real” world champions are there on pure jet ski hulls? The journey is more important than the race results

Hear how CHS Junior Emily Fischetti considers being dyslexic as her superpower. “Being dyslexic only means that I learn differently,” she says. As an elementary and middle school student, Emily had excellent grades and studied hard to please her teachers and family. She says she didn't realize the pressure she was putting on herself to be perfect until she was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety and depression. Once this happened, Emily says the pressure to be perfect eased. She defines success as making someone's day better. “If I can make someone smile, make their day better and be known for being kind, then that is being successful in my book,” Emily says.
