This is the first of our special bonus episodes before wrapping up season 2. We went country. Look at them boots. Because we had 4 guests, Jared had the idea to make this the 4x4 edition, so each guest brought 4 country songs to the table. Mark went ALL Morgan Wallen, so feel free to send your hate mail to him at show@evilmark.com. Joining Eric on this journey into the farmland are: Super Producer/Co-host Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'. Mark from The Evil Mark Show, the head degenerate on the fastest growing sports show taking the world by storm, which you can hear each Thursday (with ME!), and each.....day TBD, for the NFL/(After Hours in the offseason) show, with Jared. Find out more information on the Twitter feed. Jake, THE HOST :) from Life Is Unfair, THE 'Malcolm In The Middle' rewatch podcast that you can hear each Thursday, as they go in chronological order through the series. They're also part of the incredible Twitch channel, Lets Play Deathray, where they variety stream all sorts of awesome content, banter back and forth, and interact with their community in amazing ways. Definitely check that out, especially on a Sunday Community Night, where you'll catch them (and also sometimes me), playing Jackbox games, Gartic Phone, Minecraft, or any number of fun games. They stream every night except Friday and Saturday's around 7:30 PM MST. Jake is also a published author! That's huge! He wrote a segment in Bi-Visibility, which you can order here. AND Eric's wife Megan joins to keep Eric on his toes with the laughs. You can find the playlist here. We went in alphabetical order in terms of which guest was going first, so Jake led us off with some alt-country offerings by: Gillian Welch - Pass You By Drive-By Truckers - Decoration Day Cowboy Junkies - Murder, Tonight, In The Trailer Park Murder By Death - The Big Sleep Jared went next, with the natural WTF selections you've come to expect that only Jared would bring. Nashville Tribute Collection - (Garth Brooks) The River Brooks & Dunn - Boot Scootin' Boogie - Club Mix Steve Earle - Copperhead Road Rodney Carrington - In Her Day - Live Mark had no problems coming up with his musical journey songs, but he hemmed and (yee) hawed about this one, finally settling on bringing just Morgan Wallen, but then having trouble narrowing THOSE selections down. In the end he brought: Morgan Wallen - Don't Think Jesus Morgan Wallen - Had Me By Halftime Morgan Wallen - More Surprised Than Me Morgan Wallen - Cover Me Up And finally, Megan, (with very limited input, but she said significant input from Eric), rounded out the song selections. Hey, I wanted to bring Chris Isaak CLASSIC Wicked Game to the party, and they all said it wasn't country despite being classified in the Wikipedia as such...it's almost like we can't trust things on the internet anymore! Luke Combs - Even Though I'm Leaving Luke Combs - Better Together Chris Stapleton - Parachute Jason Aldean - Don't Give Up On Me Like an idiot, Eric forgot the "Is It Aerosmith" questions, but at least we still get to hear the theme music and just declared everyone winners! We have an additional week's break because Eric needs to go on a work trip, but we'll be back on May 16th with Eric's Musical Journey, our 13 song mega-playlist focusing on our lives, our experiences, and our musical tastes and how they've shaped us! You'll get Musical Journey's from all of your favorite guests, so look for those in the feed and until then, enjoy your moonshine!
With the alphabet in the rear-view, this special episode is the File Under: Entertainment Music Madness Tournament, pitting the 56 artists covered in season 2 to determine the best of the best. Joining Eric in this journey are: Super Producer/Co-host Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'. Mark from The Evil Mark Show, the head degenerate on the fastest growing sports show taking the world by storm, which you can hear each Thursday (with ME!), and each Monday, for the NFL/(After Hours in the offseason) show, with Jared. Find out more information at www.evilmark.com and check out the Twitter feed. Jake & David, from Life Is Unfair, THE 'Malcolm In The Middle' rewatch podcast that you can hear each Thursday, as they go in chronological order through the series. AND Eric's wife Megan makes a triumphant return to podcasting to help us with our voting and upstage Eric with the laughs. I get into the details pretty quick into the episode, but for those who like to read the show notes and know exactly what's in store before pushing play, here's the rundown (what the hell's a rundown? inside joke for Mark): March Madness is in full swing, and even if you aren't a fan of sports, or college basketball in particular, tournament time lends itself very well to pop culture discussion, which is what we are going to do here today, pitting the 56 artists that we've covered in this music season against each other to determine who is the best of the best. I was browsing Reddit, and in the Industrial music thread was a post where a user was looking for band recommendations, and Music-Map.com was recommended, which is an algorithm based program where you input an artist and it tells you similar artists that you may be interested in. Finding it to be fairly accurate when playing around, I decided to check which artists we had covered on the show were referenced on other artist pages. As I started to keep track I was wondering, what the hell am I doing this for, what am I going to do with this information, and then it hit me…..also being a sports fan, I knew that the college basketball tournament was coming up, colloquially known as March Madness, so I decided, File Under Entertainment will have a tournament of our own, to determine which artist is “the best” of those we've covered. With a 56 team single elimination tournament, there are no regions and multiple 1's, 2's, etc. It is seeded 1 – 56, with the top 8 seeds receiving first round byes which means that the #9 seed, Bob Dylan, has the distinction of facing off against the lowest rank #56 seed, The Zutons with 10 vs 55 and so on. After our introductions we get right into the matchups and just like REAL Tourney-Time, there are a lot of upsets and unexpected twists. No spoilers directly from me, I encourage everyone to listen to the drama play out in real time, but I guess if you were so inclined you could cut to the chase and have it revealed for you by following the runners-up playlist link here, and the Champions playlist link here. Some more special music related episodes will be coming your way soon, but for now, enjoy this feast of the senses!

Quality quarks quickly qualify, and don't quit! It's the “Q” episode! Back again is Jake, from Life Is Unfair, THE Malcolm In The Middle' rewatch podcast that you can hear each Thursday, as they go in chronological order through the series. Jake is also part of an incredible Twitch channel, Lets Play Deathray, where they variety stream all sorts of awesome content, banter back and forth (along with David & Kyle), and interact with their community in amazing ways. They stream every night except Friday and Saturday's around 7:30 PM MST. Also making another guest appearance, not just behind the scenes producing, is Super Producer Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'. We naturally get the usual "Eric Curse" that seems to befall us when I record with Jake, actually on a couple of occasions! This episode is a little different, we still had just the two artists, but since Jake & Jared were sharing the selection, they chose 6 songs instead of the usual 5. Queen, and Quinn are our artists in this one. You can find the Spotify playlist here. The songs discussed, are: Queen – Death On Two Legs (Dedicated To…) Queen – Fat Bottomed Girls Queen – Another One Bites The Dust Queen – Don't Stop Me Now Queen – Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy Queen – We Will Rock You Quinn – All Alone Quinn – Ecstasy In Avila Quinn – My Dearest Torment Quinn – Acedia (The Noonday Demon) Quinn – The Mercy Of The World We “break” each other multiple times, and of course, play a round of 'Is It Aerosmith' to round out the fun. While there wasn't the usual "Eric Curse" that seems to befall us when I record with Jake & David, of course its a long one when you have 3 different artists. This time it is Mazzy Star, Metallica, and The Mountain Goats, but we buck the usual alphabetic trend and go from a musicality standpoint, starting heavy with Metallica, then the indie stylings of The Mountain Goats, and rounding out with the chill shoegaze of Mazzy Star. The songs discussed, in order, are: Metallica - One Metallica - Fade To Black Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls Metallica - Battery Metallica - Sad But True The Mountain Goats - Fall Of The Star High School Running Back The Mountain Goats - This Year The Mountain Goats - Lion's Teeth The Mountain Goats - Rain In Soho The Mountain Goats - Spent Gladiator 2 Mazzy Star - Halah Mazzy Star - Fade Into You Mazzy Star - Blue Light Mazzy Star - Take Everything Mazzy Star - Roseblood We play a new game, Trivial Pur-Hootie, a trivia game with a Hootie & The Blowfish spin (but it's fun, trust me.) Holy heckin' hallelujah, here we are heralding the letter H! Joining me for this hot mess are Jake & David, from Life Is Unfair, THE 'Malcolm In The Middle' rewatch podcast that you can hear each Thursday, as they go in chronological order through the series. If you are a fan of that sitcom (and of course you are, because you have good taste!) you absolutely need to be listening to these guys (and sometimes ME) discussing the episodes and making them even more hilarious. They also have an incredible Twitch channel, Lets Play Deathray, where they variety stream all sorts of awesome content, banter back and forth (along with third member Kyle, (when he's not punching drywall)), and interact with their community in amazing ways. Definitely check that out, especially on a Sunday Community Night, where you'll catch them (and also sometimes me), playing Jackbox games, Gartic Phone, Minecraft, or any number of fun games. They stream every night except Friday and Saturday's around 7:30 PM MST. Also making a vocal appearance (for once), of course to tell me how wrong I am, is Super Producer Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'. While there wasn't the usual "Eric Curse" that seems to befall us when I record with Jake & David, we still did make it an incredibly long episode, chatting about what turns out to be some of our absolute favorite artists, Halsey, and The Hold Steady. The songs discussed, in order, are: Halsey - Hurricane Halsey - 100 Letters Halsey - Nightmare Halsey - Without Me Halsey - Bells In Santa Fe The Hold Steady - Positive Jam The Hold Steady - Cattle And The Creeping Things The Hold Steady - One For The Cutters The Hold Steady - The Stove And The Toaster The Hold Steady - Hanover Camera Naturally, we also play "Is It Aerosmith", now with its own thematic introduction! Fng FANCY. Even though blessedly we don't have cause to discuss sexual violence in this episode, I feel that it's important to leave the links to the following organizations in for the foreseeable future: If you, or a loved one, is, or has been affected by sexual violence, please know that there are good people and organizations in the world that can offer help. On episode #105 The Party Gamecast realized this whole plan failed again, and realized we need to make more content in different places. So on this episode..... What the Food?!? The cast pits several Japanese Kit Kats against each other in a battle to the death. Dobbie speaks of his love Mario Golf Super Rush (Switch) with his winner of the year being New Pokemon Snap (Switch).
