In this compelling conversation, Lane talks with Brian Grasso, co-founder and CEO of Simple Charity, exploring the origins, mission, and impact of the organization. Simple Charity, initially a high school club aiming to tackle global poverty through a Christian perspective, has evolved into a significant force for philanthropic advising and community education on poverty and injustice. Brian shares insights on the challenges of giving effectively, the importance of aligning philanthropy with Christian teachings on poverty, and the strategies Simple Charity employs to ensure donations make a real difference. The discussion delves into the broader issues of donor-advised funds, foundation giving, and the potential for philanthropy to address urgent global needs when done wisely and generously. Welcome back to another episode of the Inner Edison Podcast! I'm your host, Ed Parcaut, and today we have a very special guest joining us. Please welcome Brian Grasso, a renowned expert in brain science and personal development. In this episode, we dive deep into the fascinating world of the brain and its response to failure, success, and change. Brian shares invaluable insights on how our brain's survival mechanisms often work against us, creating fear and self-sabotage. But fear not, because Brian provides practical tools and exercises to manipulate the brain in our favor and unlock our true potential. We explore the four key practices Brian teaches that can reshape our mindset: counting wins, reviewing direction daily, understanding our negative self-talk, and harnessing the power of imagining desired outcomes. By incorporating these practices into our daily lives, we can rewire our brain and create a positive shift in our thoughts, actions, and results. But it's not just about personal development. Brian also highlights the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, the chaos they thrive in, and how they break free from societal norms. We discuss the correlation between chaotic thinking, out-of-the-box creativity, and entrepreneurial success. And it's not just athletes or business moguls – veterans who've experienced chaos and military-style thinking can also excel in the entrepreneurial world. In our conversation, Brian shares his own personal journey, from his early encounter with Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich," to his work with elite athletes and his deep spiritual exploration. We discuss the importance of mental and emotional factors in achieving peak performance, how to manage wins and losses neutrally, and the impacts of bias and preconceived notions on our perception of reality. Join us as we peel back the layers of the brain, tap into ancient wisdom, and discover how merging brain science with spirituality can unlock our true potential and lead us to a life filled with success, happiness, and authentic fulfillment. So grab a notepad, get ready to be inspired, and let's dive into this enlightening conversation with Brian Grasso on the Inner Edison Podcast! #EmbraceFailure #NeuroscienceSuccess #UnleashYourBrain #LimitlessThinking #MasteringMentalGame #EliteMindset #SpiritualEntrepreneur #AthletesInFocus #FindingBalance #SelfSabotageNoMore #RewiringYourMind #BeyondBeliefs #FindingSolace #EmbracingUncertainty

Fitness has been about exercise, programming, physical evaluation and diet. These factors are naturally necessary for the fitness matrix. Still, we cannot deny that as our education on those four essential components has increased, so has the global epidemic of obesity and inactivity. Exercise and proper nutrition are not the solutions; understanding what drives human behaviour is. Brian Grasso is a performance coach in Chicago who has trained elite athletes for more than ten years and has consulted for pro sports teams in the United States and Canada. He is the founder and CEO of the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA), which promotes fitness for kids and certifies trainers to work with young athletes. Grasso is recognized as one of the most recognized authorities in mindset and performance, sharing insight into the growing need for fitness professionals to integrate mindset coaching alongside fitness. Tune in as young leaders ask questions about life, personal growth, entrepreneurship, and more! Quotes: "And often, when you're younger, the expectations people place on you is how you arrive in the world." – Brian Grasso "The expectations you hold for yourself will forever trump any expectations that are heaped upon you, and it took me a few too many years to learn that, but I'm thankful I did." – Brian Grasso "You create whom you want to become. There's nothing about science that doesn't agree with that." – Brian Grasso "I believe that men coming together for greater causes and to lean on each other and to learn from each other is essential." – Brian Grasso Takeaways: We are constantly bombarded with expectations from our society, culture, and the people around us, but it is equally important to consider our expectations and desires. Finding the balance between these two sets of expectations requires continuous self-reflection, mindfulness, and adjustment. This journey can lead to personal growth, self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and our world. How we talk to ourselves can profoundly impact our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Adopting a positive and growth-oriented mindset allows us to open ourselves up to new possibilities, opportunities, and perspectives. This can lead to personal growth, creativity, and a greater sense of self-confidence. Many of us tend to seek validation and approval from others, but it's crucial to ensure that our aspirations align with our values, interests, and passions. Regular self-reflection can help us identify any external pressures or doubts that may be influencing our aspirations and allow us to make adjustments that align with our desires. We need to develop a resilient and growth-oriented mindset to achieve our goals and overcome challenges. This involves cultivating an optimistic outlook, learning from failures and setbacks, and developing a sense of grit and determination. A strong mindset can help us navigate the ups and downs of life with resilience and confidence, leading to tremendous success and fulfillment in the long run. Conclusion: Physical and mental self-growth are intertwined, as our physical health and well-being significantly impact our mental health and vice versa. Identifying any physical or mental barriers that may be holding us back from achieving our goals and addressing them can help us maintain our motivation and momentum when faced with obstacles. Developing a solid and unshakable mindset can help us stay focused and determined in adversity. We can cultivate physical and mental self-growth to achieve our goals and live more fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Brian Grasso is the CEO and founder of Simple Charity. When he was in high school, Brian was drawn to the intersection of the gospel and global poverty. He, along with a number of other high school students, set a goal to raise $100,000 through a variety of fundraisers to fuel organizations working in that space. That effort continued to grow into the nonprofit that Brian leads today, which operates at college campuses across the country. Simple Charity inspires Christian students to grow in solidarity with people experiencing poverty and injustice through multiple creative programs and initiatives. And deeply entwined with their message is the invitation to radical generosity. Brian had plenty to say on topics including: The challenges and benefits of reaching college students with the message of generosity The opportunities that exist today in reaching students How Simple Charity approaches vetting ministries How to stay grounded and energized when working in the nonprofit sector How he stays rooted in the Word QUOTES TO REMEMBER “We have a God who is generous towards us who wants us to live the good life of grace and abundance, and part of that life is caring for the poor.” “It's such a wonderful blessing to do meaningful work with people that you enjoy” “The word of God has the power to transform our hearts” “God wants us, rather than what we can do for him.” “There is always enough time to do the things that are most important. What changes is what is most important.” “Every seed that's planted is an opportunity to see God work.” “The most important thing is seeking the Kingdom of God” “Solidarity with the poor starts by learning from the poor, by seeing their abundance.” LINKS FROM THE SHOW Crazy Love by Francis Chan Heart for Africa (see our interview with COO Janine Maxwell) Biblingo The Great Opportunity Journey to Generosity (JoG) with Generous Giving (see our interviews with cofounder, Todd Harper and CEO, April Chapman) All Access International When Helping Hurts (see our interview with coauthor Brian Fikkert) The Finish Line Community Facebook Group The Finish Line Community LinkedIn Group BIBLE REFERENCES FROM THE SHOW Matthew 25:35-40 | I Was Hungry and You Gave Me Food For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' The human experience is an ongoing journey. So many of us are trying to be in this delicate dance between a new and old paradigm. Things are dissolving and dying out, and constructs, identities, and labels are changing. Everything feels different as we try to explain who you are in this new Earth reality. But yet we're still in the same world. We still need to be human and play by some of the old rules so that they can land and resonate and make sense for us to move forward. Today's dose #172 is a little different than usual. Brian Grasso, who was on this podcast with his wife in October 2018, asked me to appear as a guest in one of his masterminds. The conversation we had was so beautiful and inspiring that I decided to share it with you in its whole entirety. Please, enjoy! I first came across their work 4 years ago and this one idea instantly changed my life. It has become the central idea from which I do all coaching work and is a beautiful summary of how anyone has ever and will ever transform their life. This model is referenced on page 121 of my latest book. Unhindered - The seven essential practices for overcoming insecurity. Check out our short and sharp conversation about the 4 A's off transformation to make sure you are accurately applying this model to your life.
Together with his amazing wife, Carrie, Brian helps people from entrepreneurs to fitness enthusiasts to eliminate their limits and achieve their goals with unstoppable confidence, by sharing simple, proven practices that develop your mindset. In this episode we talk a lot about mindset in challenging times. COVID-19 has knocked industries sideways, from entrepreneurs trying to keep their business going, to athletes seeing competitions cancelled and trying to keep their focus on training. Brian provides a 4 step approach to keeping yourself focused, calm and on purpose, whatever limits you are looking to break through, plus his views on the coaching industry. Highlights: “Coaches need to be less about the doctrine of the methods they use and more about the education and support that they’re giving people for why their tools work.” “We need to feel safe. We need to feel like we are included. We need to feel respected. If you put all that together you have a coaching process that works.” “The objective really is to live in the now. And if I am present in this moment, what happens is what’s gonna happen.” “All I can control is what I’m doing today, and where my imagination wants to see me in the future.” “The unobserved life is not worth living.” More from Brian (and Carrie): Find and friend request Brian on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brian.grasso Like Brian & Carrie’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BrianAndCarrie.Live Join the Expert Focus community on Facebook for bonuses, exclusives and excellent jokes (well that’s for you to decide). I'm sure that you folks are going to just love this episode. Brian & Carrie have such an incredible relationship together, and they're so complementary to one another. Enjoy! -Jonathan Levi
Brian and Carrie met in 2006 in Montreal Canada when Brian was giving a two day seminar on a certification process he had founded. It turned out that Carrie worked for the company that hired Brian. That’s how they met for the first time. They never spoke again until 3 years later when Brian had a near death experience which prompted him to reveal his feelings to Carrie via a phone call. After that they connected and have been together ever since. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Three. Two. One. ACTION! Whether it’s something as small as a Facebook Live to as big as a live television appearance, there are ways to ensure that your live sessions are a success. It’s not secret that social media favors live video, and today it is one of the best ways to reach more people and create content in less time. Today, you’ll meet Carrie Campbell and Brian Grasso - morning show hosts, livestreaming experts, and owners of Brian and Carrie TV. The duo started doing their live streams from a cell phone sitting on top of a garbage can and turned it into the #1 way they reach more people, communicate with their tribe and connect with their audience. Carrie and Brian are breaking down their strategy and mindset behind taking live streaming to the next level! (7:30) “Believe it or not, we didn't look at comparative live streams, we didn't examine the industry of live streaming. We looked at television. We looked at Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah, talk shows that stood the test of time and that people loved. We started dissecting them... what is it about these talk shows that people love? It became very clear. If you entertain, educate, and engage an audience they will flock!” -Brian Grasso (10:34) “Simplicity plus consistency. We started doing something very simply, we started talking to a cell phone. Then from there we expanded upon it. We started doing something consistently. We showed up. At first it was two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We showed up and we delivered and then we went to five days a week. We showed up and we delivered!” -Carrie Campbell (15:11) “ There are a couple of things that have been really overplayed in the whole marketing world, over the last couple of years. One of the big ones, i think, that is way overplayed that has somehow become a strategy now is being authentic! Being authentic is not a strategy, you can not strategize being authentic. You either are or your not. End of story!” -Carrie Campbell Connect with Brian and Carrie: http://www.brianandcarrie.live https://www.facebook.com/BrianAndCarrie.Live/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdO1ammcigCjbrmk49gprqQ Connect with Kelly: www.kellyroachcoaching.com www.facebook.com/kellyroachinternational www.twitter.com/kellyroachint A HUGE thank you for listening to Unstoppable Success Radio! The Fat-Burning Man Show by Abel James: The Future of Health & Performance
I recently chatted with a performance coach to billionaires, professional athletes, and A-list celebrities. I asked him, “If there's one question that always works when you're coaching clients, what is it?” He said the answer was easy. He simply asks, “How's your relationship?” Whether you're a celebrity or an average Joe, the answer isn't always pretty. Too often, when one person in a relationship decides to eat better, get fit, quit drinking, or make any other life changes, the other person tears them down. When you transform your body and your life, sometimes it feels like you're going at it alone. Maybe you noticed your drinking buddies aren't quite as fun when you're sober. Change is threatening, and as humans, we're wired for negativity. On today's show with my friends Brian and Carrie, you'll learn a simple daily practice to transform the way you think.
