Good evening, ms name is the great randall. I am a liar, a cheat and a chalatan. I will blatently lie to you, but for purposes of entertainment only of course. And those lies may not be dicernible from the truth.”

Murder Among the Mormons (2021) is the new Netflix true-crime docuseries about Mark Hofmann, who is one of the most notable forgers in history. Hofmann created forgeries related to the Latter Day Saint movement, which led to fame and fortune. But the truth caught up with Hofmann one fateful day in 1985, as two innocent people lost their lives.  We are joined by award-winning co-director and producer of Murder Among the Mormons, Tyler Measom. His previous work includes Leaving the Cult: Sons of Perdition (2010), An Honest Liar (2014) and Biography: I Want My MTV (2019).  Tyler directed this docuseries with Jared Hess, who is best known for his films Napoleon Dynamite (2004), Nacho Libre (2006) and Gentlemen Broncos (2009). Tyler talks about how he and Jared came to turn this story into a docuseries, as well as what they discovered about Mark Hoffman and the nature of belief. In the process we also learn about getting a film idea to the big screen.  “The power he must have felt to create and change history, to alter what millions of people believe, and know and pray to every day – to have the power to change that in your basement is a remarkable feeling I suspect.” – Tyler Measom Time Stamps: 05:38 - What the series Murder Among the Mormons is about. 08:19 - Why the story wasn't heavily publicised at the time. 09:41 - How co-directors Tyler and Jared made the story so gripping. 11:20 - The boom period there was for collecting Mormon antiquities.  13:04 - How Mark Hofmann was such a successful forger.  16:02 - How Hofmann started his career in forging.  20:56 - Why he went into a life of deceit. 25:33 - Why Tyler and Jared decided to make a documentary about Hofmann.  30:42 - How a documentary goes from a brainstorming session to being on screen.  36:36 - The way a docuseries format gives the filmmakers more freedom.  37:49 - The willingness of people to be interviewed for the film.  41:45 - How they knew the film would be so successful.  45:59 - The reasons Mark conned Mormons.  49:01 - How Tyler kept his own beliefs regarding Mormonism separate from the film.  50:24 - What the film says about belief.  51:36 - The next projects Tyler is working on.   Resources: Murder Among the Mormons (2021) Leaving the Cult: Sons of Perdition, a book by Tyler Measom Billy Wilder's 10 Screenwriting Tips This is Distorted Alamo Pictures Connect with Tyler Measom: Website LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Connect with Factual America: Facebook Instagram Twitter   Connect with Matthew Sherwood: Facebook LinkedIn Twitter   More From Factual America: Connect with Factual America: Facebook Instagram Twitter   Connect with Matthew Sherwood: Facebook LinkedIn Twitter   More From Factual America: Moment of Truth: The Murder of Michael Jordan's Father McMillion$: McDonalds' Monopoly Fraud Revisited The Hart Family Tragedy

Of a very popular phrase, “Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.” James Randi, a magician fit so well here. He himself knows the fact that everything about magic is to fool somebody. And someone who shows things like magic as if a real, then they are simply fakes and are lying to you. To debunk this idea, James Randi started exposing the fake people. For when, what and how did he debunk that, you have to watch this documentary namely 'An Honest Liar'. Listen to this episode to know synopsis and some brief about this documentary. This first guitar lesson was extremely insightful as it made me realize a powerful life lesson in winning in your targets in 2020.  Tune in to learn how to win in your targets this year too! Yes I know another music reference lol. Get ready for many of them to come as I am on my journey of becoming the Harmony Man. In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I speak about the significance of leaving your mark.  We all get caught up in the craziness of life and tend to overlook the small things. While I was away at a coaching program event I was able to receive a gift that I wanted to share with all of you. When you hear the word legacy you automatically think of what you're going to leave behind when you're gone. We tend to think of finances, investments, and savings but what we lose sight of is how much of an impact we are making on others. Share the mark that someone is leaving on your heart while they are still here. It is such a gift to know the impact while you are here to see and share it. It made me think differently about how I share gratitude, sending messages of love and honor daily.  The most important mark to leave in life is the one on someone's heart.  So I ask you, take an opportunity today to send a message to someone who has created a mark in your life. Let them know how it impacted you, and enjoy the powerful gift of letting them know how you feel.    Productive Principles:  •Self-Reflection •Self-Acceptance •Growth •Accepting Ourselves Every Day •Gratitude •Appreciation •Love   Questions? This required being consistent on sleep, diet, and training sessions. However, I didn't expect the emotional shit storm that I have been battling within myself to become that man.  This process has broken me and made me. The Honest Liar Podcast Episode #13-Winning the war!    In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I touch upon the frame concept of the King/Queen, Lord, Solider, Servant, and how they play a significant role in our lives. The King is our vision, the Lord is the manager of the vision the King/Queen creates, the Soldier shoots the targets that we create, and the Servant does the grunt work for us.  The goals you set in life and your accomplishments come because you create space. The daily tactical battle is that the King/Queen need space to create. In order to carry out a mission the King/Lord create a strategy on a weekly basis, which leads into how you are going to execute the quarterly mission. When the King/Queen do not have a vision, the Lord can't give directions to Soldier or Servant. When the Soldier doesn't have a clear vision or target, the Soldier will still shoot and try to burn down what you've worked hard on, instead of building up and creating.   The lesson is to find time in the next week to create your quarterly massive expansion. Don't get caught in the trap that you haven't been on track, you can accomplish what you want in a year in 3 months. Procrastinating and waiting until the new year is never a good idea, I encourage you to start today!   Productive Principles:  •Self-Reflection •Self-Acceptance •Growth  •Gratitude   Questions? In today's episode of The Honest Liar I speak about the importance of having a weekly meeting with the CEO of the universe, and what it means to me and my growth in every dimension of life.    I don't need to go to church or a chapel to feel connected with God, he is present everywhere. I feel most strongly connected to him when I am in nature, so I prefer to have my weekly meeting with him outdoors.    I begin my weekly meetings with God by meditating to clear my mind and to set my intentions. I then write what I am grateful for and unapologetically ask God for things I desire.     These tactical tools have helped me to develop a connection with God, and allowed me to have faith and a mindset of abundance instead of fear.   As my connection with God has strengthened, the phrase “I swear to God” means so much more to me now than it did two years ago. As my bond with God has grown stronger, faith has helped me face my lies, fears, and doubts.    So I encourage you to try these tactical tools which can help you grow your faith, and tackle other aspects of your life.   Questions? In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I speak about the importance of how creation requires space. Space is required for anything you desire in life. For any challenge in life we create stories of fear and doubt, but without making space to clear our minds we can't hold the capacity for what we truly desire. My fears of not being a fighter are stories I have always told myself. I had to make space to understand what I could do to change these stories. Taking time to date myself helped me be alone, get myself back to a clear space, and continue to make room for my desires. You can't avoid the fears you have. Conscious actions that give you time to process your thoughts will help you overcome the fears. You'll be able to honor the feelings you're feeling rather than internally battling with yourself.  So, I challenge you think about what area of your life needs the most attention. Relationships, business, or even spirituality. Think of how you can create space and take action. Singles are not sexy…   In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I speak about how consistency is key. When I first started my journey and committed to Wake-Up Warrior, it was all about the reps and effort I put in. Yes, I saw the perfection aspect and created stories of fear and doubt to stop, but I pushed through. It's all about routine and getting your mind into that positive state. Singles are not sexy, we all strive for the home runs but here's when we need to step back and recourse. It's important we understand that it all starts with a small commitment. I focused on the daily game which is based on Body, Being, Balance, and Business- The Core 4, which is 1 point for every area. In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I speak about how important gratitude is and why simplicity is so important. Being in a dark place a year ago I needed to figure how to love myself, and get rid of the repetitive reps of fear, doubt, and insecurity. I was ready to make a change but wasn't sure where to begin. Gratitude is definitely not something you learn it's something you acquire and practice. I needed to hold myself accountable and had to start doing estimable things for myself. Every great journey starts with a single step. That simple step is gratitude, start a journal, and take 2 minutes out of your hectic schedule to record a voice memo, about why you love yourself. Set your intentions change is not accidental. Without being able to be grateful and look back at things I have done, I would burn out and become resentful. This caused me to course correct and also take a date night for myself once a week. Show yourself gratitude first, and watch your energy completely shift. So, I challenge you to start your own daily gratitude practice! Start simple with “I get to do this” not “I have to do this”. Doing this podcast is a part of my journey of owning my darkness/light, and for anyone else listening to be inspired to leverage theirs to create the world they desire.   In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I speak about how important it is to date yourself and learn when to course correct. No matter if you're having the best day as I was, things go downhill fast. You have to take time out for yourself, or your tank will run empty, like mine did.  When running on empty you allow the small things to irritate you, as opposed to when you're in a stronger head space (frame) you can deal with life's situations better. When your tank is on empty you are the only one who can fill it up. We tend to rely on loved ones to fill our tank and get upset when they don't, but we are the only ones that are able to do this.  Remember to never let your tank go empty, plan a weekly date for yourself. If your frame collapses you will never be able to hold a space for your loved ones. Doing this podcast is a part of my journey of owning my darkness/light, and for anyone else listening to be inspired to leverage theirs to create the world they desire.  Productive Principles: Spirituality Self-Reflection Self-Acceptance Accepting Ourselves Every Day Loving yourself

In today's episode of The Honest Liar, I will be sharing with you an exercise I learned at a previous Warrior conference that was essential in me creating the foundation for my journey of self-improvement. This is the first interactive episode and I'm very excited to share.   Unlocking Our Truths Exercise Create Physical Space- create a relaxed environment where you can be fully present with your self. No phones, no distractions, but plenty of time and patience. Create Mental Space- Spend 5-10 minutes sitting in silence or meditating. We want a mind clear of all thoughts so we can start reflecting on how we're taking care of ourselves physically. Grab a notepad or journal- Highly recommend not taking these notes on a digital device. We don't want a potential distraction and written out by hand will be a more beneficial experience, I promise.  Take 5 minutes to write down the current “Fruits” in your body- Write all of the “truths”, not feelings, that exist in your body today (Weight, substance use, exercise consistency,  nutrition, health issues, etc.) Take 5 minutes to write down all your feelings- For every “Fruit” you listed in the previous step, write next to it one word that expresses your feelings towards that “fruit”. This is an important step. We want to be raw and authentic when doing this process and it will be emotional. Optional: If you have extra time, try to write out why you have those feelings.  Take 5 minutes to go over the Focus- What are the stories, behaviors, or patterns that exist for you producing that “fruit”. What is the reasoning behind that “fruit”? Take 2 minutes to identify the Facts?- For every “fruit”, determine if it's working for you or not. This is a simple step, but it will be impactful in guiding you in building a new foundation. Repeat- Do this process again with the concepts of Being, Balance, and Business CONTACT ME (SEE BELOW) IF YOU WOULD LIKE A GUIDED EXPERIENCE. * This process will be emotional, but you have to be honest and authentic during this process in order to truly get the most out of this exercise. Productive Principles: Accepting Pain Body-How am I taking care of my Body? Being- Evaluating our spiritual selves Balance- All our most important relationships Business- Evaluating our financial situation   As always, please feel free to reach out to me. Whether it's about today's exercise,  my previous episodes, or your own journey, I'd love to hear your thoughts. “What comes on the other side of fear is power” Welcome back to The Honest Liar podcast. In our second episode, I discuss the origin of this podcast: What does the name mean? How did this all start? Why am I even doing this? That last question is the most important.    December 2018, during a Warrior convention at a meditation session I heard “The Voice”, which I now truly believe was God speaking to me, tell me “It's time to broadcast!”. From then on, starting a podcast was a goal I had set, but the issue came with the fact that I didn't know exactly why I wanted to start. At first, the reasoning was to leave a legacy of lessons for my children, and while that's an amazing idea, there were other ways to accomplish this than broadcasting to the world. So no, that answer wasn't good enough and I knew it. The true answer was revealed through a process of self-reflection and self-acceptance.    Doing this podcast is a part of my journey of owning my darkness/light, and for anyone else listening to be inspired to leverage theirs to create the world they desire.   Productive Principles: Spirituality- Focusing on improving the quality of our spirit, regardless of religious beliefs Facing Our Fears Overcoming Darkness Accepting Ourselves Every Day   Questions? In this pilot episode, I talk about the last few years of my life, from the moment I realized I was miserable despite being in a position of financial freedom, to where I currently am in my journey of personal growth. It's a journey of spirituality, observation, and self-growth that I can't wait to share with you all. This is the start to what I hope is a conversation we can all have about becoming our true, authentic selves.    Productive Principles Spirituality Self-Reflection Self-Acceptance   This is the start to a journey I'm so excited to share with all of you.

What's an "honest liar" in real estate and when will they be no more?   Plus: The two key things you should look for when buying an apartment. Ewan Morton pulls no punches on why agents do the wrong thing and we have a bit of spirited debate about the pros and cons of buying new apartments. This energetic conversation traverses two very contentious issues and there are loads of revelations: How is a good agent able to overcome a lack of trust and manage to help both the owner as well as the buyer. Agents no longer hold all the information but it's not a bad thing. How agents have been punished for telling the truth by vendors. His dialogue for telling vendors “as it is” when they should take an offer. The secret to getting more money out of buyers. How he gets buyers to trust him and why buyers should disclose info to agents. Treating agents with respect doesn't mean buyers are not in control. Changing attitudes to apartment living and the debate about oversupply. What's with the quality of new builds? The important things to research before buying a brand new apartment. Another cracker episode, Ewan does not hold back!   Links:   Corelogic reports http://store.corelogic.com.au/buyer-perceptions-of-real-estate-agents http://store.corelogic.com.au/vendor-perceptions-of-real-estate-agentsSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
