Death is the most obvious reminder that something in our world isn't right. We weren't created to die — sin brought death into humanity through Adam. But just as death entered through one man, life and hope come through another — Jesus.

This week at camp, we're recapping our wild tour stops through Nashville, Kansas City, and Chicago. Yes, a honky-tonk woman in an arm sling was hitting on us at the Nashville Dolly Parton rooftop bar. Then we cover the riveting story of a man who spent months convincing Costco to give him their iconic $1.50 hot dog sign, and the Vatican finally returning Indigenous artifacts to Canada. Naturally we spiral into a series of passionate rants about everything from being forced to “pre-save” albums that aren't even out yet and sandwich shops drowning their food in mayo. UGH! (though Jonathan approves of the mayo-forward recipes lol) We also yearn for the golden age of DVDs with alternate endings, confess our love for reading smut in public, and weigh in on Hayley Williams' new album drop for Ego Death. Plus a little Zara Larsson appreciation to round things out. This episode was mixed and edited by Kevin Betts.Get your tickets to see Zachariah Porter's new Live Comedy Tour!Want BONUS CONTENT? You've heard of East Coast vs. West Coast — but forget all that. This week, we're settling the real rivalry: the Midwest vs. the Pacific Northwest. Shea and Jody of Rainy Day Rabbit Holes, the podcast that uncovers the wild, weird, and wonderful hidden stories of the Pacific Northwest and beyond, join Trevin and Amanda for a four-round battle of regional pride, petty chaos, and pointless competition. Before the main event, our hosts bring their dreadful dilemmas, ranging from awkward public encounters with subtly racist strangers, being too busy for dog playdates, and making retirement plans far too early — plus, Amanda spots our modern-day muse, Chappell Roan, out in the wilds of Kansas City. Then, it's time for the Great Debate — a showdown across four over-the-top rounds: ⚔️ Round One: The Great Debate – Each team makes an absurdly passionate case for their homeland, backed by one bizarre local legend. From the Midwest's failed utopia of Fordlandia to Oregon's infamous exploding whale, chaos is the only constant.

In this explosive episode of Gangland Wire, retired Kansas City Intelligence Unit detective Gary Jenkins dives deep into one of the most complex and mysterious figures of the Cold War era—Ricardo “Monkey” Morales, a Cuban exile whose life intersected with the CIA, the anti-Castro underground, Las Vegas mobsters, and even the JFK assassination. Gary welcomes Rick Morales Jr., son of Monkey Morales, and author Sean Oliver, co-writer of the new book Monkey Morales: The True Story of a Mythic Cuban Exile Assassin, CIA Operative, FBI Informant, Smuggler, and Dad. Together, they unravel the incredible life of a man who was at once a patriot, a spy, and a killer. Rick recounts growing up in Miami's Little Havana, where his father's shadow loomed large—rumored to have ties to the JFK assassination and known for his secret missions across the world. From escaping Cuba as a disillusioned Castro loyalist to training as part of the CIA's Operation 40 assassination unit, Monkey Morales lived a life that reads like a spy thriller. Sean Oliver walks listeners through Monkey's covert missions in Africa's Congo, his deep ties to other operatives like Frank Sturgis and Barry Seal, and the secret wars that connected Cuban exiles, the CIA, and organized crime. The conversation also explores how Monkey became entangled with Lefty Rosenthal, the Chicago Outfit's Las Vegas gambling mastermind, and how his bomb-making skills were used in mob turf wars across Florida. The discussion culminates with Morales Jr.'s chilling memory of his father confessing he was in Dallas on the day President Kennedy was shot—and that he had seen Lee Harvey Oswald in a CIA training camp. Whether you believe Morales was a hero, a villain, or both, his story weaves through some of the darkest and most intriguing chapters of 20th-century American history.

Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers talk weekend football and Monday Night Football. Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers recap NFL Week 9, starting with Seattle's 28-0 first-half dominance over Washington behind Sam Darnold's near-perfect performance and Jackson Smith-Njigba's 129-yard night. They discuss NFC West odds, Seattle's legitimacy, and Darnold's resurgence replacing DK Metcalf with new depth. The Commanders regress toward mediocrity while Jaden Daniels' arm injury raises concern. Survivor pool chaos sees major eliminations with the Packers' and Lions' upsets, while Rams and Chargers deliver wins. In betting markets, downgrades hit Houston (due to C.J. Stroud's possible injury), Green Bay after a shocking loss to Carolina, and Indianapolis after six turnovers against Pittsburgh, while the Chargers drop slightly with another lineman injury. Upgrades go to the Panthers, buoyed by Bryce Young's steadiness and Rico Dowdle's run game; the Vikings after upsetting Detroit behind J.J. McCarthy; and the Steelers' steady improvement. The Bills' win over Kansas City restores faith, though the Chiefs still own them in the playoffs, while Josh Allen edges into MVP favorite status despite Matthew Stafford's impressive season and 17 TDs. The conversation shifts to Stafford's elite play, Rams' contention in the NFC West, and how the MVP race could open up beyond Allen or Mahomes. They preview Monday Night Football—Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys—where Jacoby Brissett replaces injured Kyler Murray. Munaf prefers Brissett's current form, citing his efficient recent starts (275+ yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT) and the Cowboys' leaky defense, predicting a high-scoring shootout. Mackenzie notes the market swing from Cardinals +2.5 to +3.5 with Murray ruled out but leans to the under before conceding that both teams' defenses point toward the over. Munaf and Mackenzie expect strong passing performances from both quarterbacks, with Brissett's prop at 246.5 yards and Prescott's at 266.5, supported by a trend of opposing QBs torching Dallas' secondary. They propose a same-game parlay: both QBs 250+ yards, over 53.5 total, Cowboys -3.5, paying about +650. They plug Pregame.com's SNAP15 promo for discounted picks and highlight Mackenzie's NBA hot streak, encouraging listeners to grab his season-long NBA package. For best bets, Mackenzie takes the Milwaukee Bucks -6.5 over the Pacers, expecting regression for both teams, while Munaf's top play is Brissett over 35.5 pass attempts, citing his prior games (44 and 36 attempts) and Arizona's reliance on his arm. They close thanking listeners, teasing upcoming contest, survivor, and NBA pods, and expressing excitement for the rest of the NFL and NBA seasons. Learn more about your ad choices. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 10/30/25. We're nearly a full month into the US federal government "shutdown," and many more federal workers report feeling the direct impact of not being compensated, being furloughed, and wondering when will all of this will be resolved. Again, 65% of federal employees allegedly survive paycheck to paycheck. In Ohio, three Air Force employees are reported dead in a shocking double murder-suicide. 34-year-old Jacob E. Prichard allegedly killed his wife, Jaymee Prichard, and stuffed her body in the trunk of his car. Jacob drove the vehicle with his wife's remains to a fellow co-workers residence, and once there, he allegedly killed Jamie S. Gustitus before taking his own life. The Kansas City star reports, "It's unclear what the relationship between the married couple and Gustitus was other than the fact they all worked at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Greene County." Additionally, many non-white callers report being threatened and/or verbally accosted in the workplace. We remind Victims of Racism to expect to be humiliated on the job and to have a code to help maintain your composure when subjected to Racist insults at work. #NoPoliticsOnTheJob INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE 564943# #SobrietyWouldBeBest INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: http://cash.app/$TheCOWS Call: 720.716.7300 Code: 564943#
