Down With Boring is gearing up for the festive season, bringing an early Christmas present to all Dear Readers from across the land. The latest episode of our essential podcast-slash-radio-show dives into the archives to unpack what makes our annual Christmas Night Out such a treasured tradition, as well as catches up with our latest Xmas chum, Master Peace. Unwrapping tales from past editions, the show revisits feature chats with some of indie's finest – from The Amazons' arena-sized ambitions to Panic Shack's gloriously chaotic charm, Lambrini Girls' punk spirit to L Devine's pop perfection, plus unmissable moments with The Itch and Abbie Ozard. Then we wrap this year's headliner Master Peace in tinsel for a pre-party chat. This year's festive gathering is wrapped and ready, with Master Peace confirmed to headline Dork's Christmas Night Out 2024. The celebration returns to its spiritual home at Colours Hoxton, London on Tuesday 17th December, with Lucy Tun in support, promising another night of yuletide brilliance. Tickets for Dork's Christmas Night Out 2024 are available now via DICE (grab 'em here).
This week, we're ‘live' from Brighton's Prince Albert with Panic Shack and Plantoid for Son Estrella Galacia's mini-fest of live music, beer culture, gastronomy, and a commitment to “positive environmental impact”. Oooo, etc.

And we're back with another banging author! This time we're joined by Calla Henkel to discuss her debut novel 'Other People's Clothes', a darkly comic novel set in the 00's which deals with death, sexuality and toxic friendships. We talked to Calla about her inspo behind the novel and the specific reasons for setting this story against a landscape before the onset of mass social media in our lives- everyone's remembers when they removed their battery from their phone right?! Calla dives in the distinct characterisation of the two friend's in the book and on wanting to give them what they want, even if that outcome may seem perverse. Plus, we dissect the changing obsession people have with true crime and 'dead girl' narratives. The boys “take inspiration” from Desert Island Discs this week - adopting the scenario that if they fell off their boat and were stranded on a desert island, what three records would they choose to bring with them?! This leads to Joe pushing it even further and asking what singles they would choose from each album!! We would love to hear what three albums you would choose, so get in touch and let us know.
