On Thursday, August 13th, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts spent a morning of a triple murder trial walking a jury through a country music deep dive. Then Kevin Reddington got up and took about six questions to blow it up. Day 13 of the Lindsay Clancy trial in Plymouth Superior Court. Three witnesses: State Police Sgt. Kyle Pavao on the tablet, Sgt. Timothy Chiappini on the cellphone, and lead investigator Trooper Joshua McKelligan. Eight minutes of browser history from August 2022. Journal entries and affirmations read into the record. A note last modified the day before her children died. A bag of medication that went to the defense attorney instead of the State Police. And a prosecutor asking a judge for the visitor logs of a priest. We also do the thing half the internet is screaming about, which is who did the Googling. Carefully, on the record, with the transcript. Two separate device examinations are getting spliced together online into one theory, and the real answer is worse than the conspiracy.Plus: what postpartum psychosis actually does, why it isn't a standalone diagnosis in the DSM, the December appointment where a nurse practitioner said the words "underlying bipolar disorder" out loud, and a TikTok that tried to walk into a courtroom and got told this is not Tripadvisor.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics

Did Patrick Clancy kill his children? No. And the Lindsay Clancy trial record says so, including in her own defense attorney's opening statement.Millions of people on TikTok and Instagram have convinced themselves that Patrick Clancy strangled Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy in Duxbury, Massachusetts, and framed his wife for it. This episode goes through that theory claim by claim against the actual trial evidence: the surveillance footage, the CVS and ThreeV timeline, the 911 call, the medical records, and the sworn testimony.Robin covers what Kevin Reddington really said in his opening statement, the "he changed his shoes" theory, what the twelve unaccounted minutes before CVS do and do not prove, who actually sent Patrick out for the takeout order that night, and why Patrick Clancy's remarriage happened three years and three months after the killings, not three months. She also covers the part almost nobody is clipping: Lindsay Clancy's MyChart messages to her psychiatric nurse practitioner in the weeks before her children died, and what happened when she reported intrusive thoughts she had never had before.Facts, filings, and transcripts. No conspiracy theories.Questions discussed in this episode:Did Patrick Clancy kill his children?Did Lindsay Clancy's lawyer admit she killed her kids?Did Patrick Clancy change his shoes between CVS and ThreeV?What are the twelve missing minutes in the Patrick Clancy timeline?Did Patrick Clancy send an email from home at 5:24?When did Patrick Clancy remarry, and who is Rachel Danis? Is Kevin Reddington secretly building a case against Patrick Clancy? Why did a judge say "this is not Tripadvisor" during the Lindsay Clancy trial?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics

Lindsay Clancy trial Day 10 recap. Her psychiatrist, Dr. Jennifer Tufts, testified for five hours and revealed she treated Clancy fourteen times over five months without ever meeting her in person, never pulled her psychiatric hospital records, and never knew about two crisis line calls. Then the entire trial turned on an argument about a comma. Robin breaks down every witness, what the Commonwealth is actually required to prove under Massachusetts law, why the jury is not entertaining any theory about Patrick Clancy, and a verdict prediction based on where the evidence stands after Day 10.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics

Lindsay Clancy killed her three children. Nobody's arguing that. What the state of Massachusetts wants you to skip past is the part where an entire medical apparatus watched a woman disintegrate in real time, handed her a fistful of scripts, cycled her on and off drugs like a science fair project, and then clutched its pearls when the worst thing imaginable happened in a house in Duxbury. This week I'm walking through the Clancy case as her trial finally gets going in Plymouth County. Postpartum psychosis, the kind that's rare enough for every provider to treat like someone else's problem. A stack of prescriptions and a psychiatric system that failed her at every single door she walked through, including the one she checked herself into. And a prosecution that would rather cage a paralyzed woman than say out loud that the failure was systemic and it was theirs. This is not a redemption arc and I'm not going to send you off feeling better about any of it. Content note: This episode discusses the deaths of children, postpartum psychosis, and suicide. Postpartum mental illness is treatable and the vast majority of people who experience it never harm anyone. If you're struggling, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) and Postpartum Support International (1-800-944-4773) are there. Keywords: Lindsay Clancy, Lindsay Clancy trial, Lindsay Clancy case, Clancy trial, postpartum psychosis, postpartum depression, Duxbury, Plymouth County, maternal mental health, PMADs, perinatal mood disorders, overmedication, insanity defense, lack of criminal responsibility, Patrick Clancy, Kevin Reddington, psychiatric system, true crime, true crime podcast, political commentary, crimes of the powerful, We Saw the Devil, WSTDBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics

Trigger Warning - SAIn this episode, we are so very excited to visit with author EV Knight. Our hosts had the pleasure of meeting and hearing EV read from her latest release at this past StokerCon in Denver. EV Knight is the author of the Bram Stoker Award-winning debut novel, The Fourth Whore. She released her sophomore novel, Children of Demeter, as well as a novella, Partum, in 2021. This year, her novella Three Days in the Pink Tower published by Creature Publishing was released in July. She also has stories featured in several various anthologies this year. EV lives in one of America's most haunted cities—Savannah, GA. When not out searching for the ghosts of the past, EV can be found at home with her husband Matt, her beloved Chinese Crested Gozer Augustus, and their three naughty sphynx cats.EV shares with us the why of writing in the horror genre, what her creative process looks like, and her favorite part of writing. We wanted to know about her stellar work ethic and how she stays so amazingly productive.Three Days in the Pink Tower is based on the horrible real-world experience that EV had as a seventeen-year-old. She shares the details of that harrowing encounter and how it inspired and influenced her latest work and life.We talk about the power of women writers re-telling familiar horror tropes that revolve around women's bodies and trauma. Perhaps, EV has created a new type of final girl, where we get inside the mind of the final girl rather than simply witness her reacting. The novella uses the tarot as inspiration and character. EV shares her ideas about using tarot in the book and for storytelling in general.EV reads an expert from Three Days in the Pink Tower.Next up for EV is her retelling of Dracula from a female Renfield's perspective and a foray into screenwriting!EV Knight can be found here:https://evknightauthor.com/Buy Three Days in the Pink Tower here.Tarot for writing resources:Hillary Leftwich's Alchemy Writing WorkshopThe Magic of Tarot: Your Guide to Intuitive Readings, Rituals, and Spells by Sasha GrahamBrenda's WebsiteJoy's WebsiteNational Sexual Assault Hotline 1-800-656-4673**When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission that will be used to continue to bring our audience great horror content. *Disclaimer: Reference to any specific product or entity does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by the Podcasters. This is my favorite time of year, so I'm celebrating with an ihp marathon - Black Autumn IV: Nothing To Fear.   I'm running an episode a day and concluding the series on Halloween with FIVE NEW EPISODES! Enjoy!   Excerpt from Foundation Guidelines on Maternity Leave: The Foundation offers up to twenty-four months of maternity leave for new mothers, and twelve months for fathers. However, to be eligible, the existence of a pregnancy must be declared within the trimester, to ensure that proper security measures can be taken, including temporary suspension of security credentials, assignment to safehouses (if eligible), paternity tests, and psychological evaluation of both parents… …if either parent is found to be found unfit to care for the child (i.e. suffering from a psychosis that could endanger the child), then the pregnancy may still be carried to term; however, parents may not be eligible to care for their child, and they may be put into the Foundation's adoption system, pending inquiry. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Sharf are joined by a very special guest on this episode of the Relentlesly Resilient podcast. Jennie’s sister-in-law, Janel Taylor, shares her story of love and loss as a mother of three living children, as well as three children who passed before their births. While postpartum depression had occurred with the pregnancies of her surviving children, Janel’s miscarriages amplified those dark feelings as she found herself struggling with societal pressures, undeserved guilt, loss of faith, and increased anger. Over the years she was able to process her grief and learn to live again by focusing on the love of her family, the strengths in her faith, and the ever-uplifting power of serving others. She shares her experience and the lessons of resilience she hopes can help others suffering through similar struggles today. Even though we live in challenging times we can become Relentlessly Resilient as we lean on and learn from one another’s experiences. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Scharf are no strangers to overcoming adversity; Michelle lost her husband to cancer, while Jennie’s husband Major Brent Taylor was killed in the service of our country. Their stories bond them together and now listeners can join them weekly as they visit with others enduring challenges and who teach us how they are exercising resiliency, finding value in their grief, and purpose in moving forward. Carli shares her personal mental health journey with anxiety and depression during pregnancy, which is something you don't often hear people talk about (we hear about it in the postpartum phase but not much during pregnancy), so I am so grateful she opened up and shared her experience here so other mamas out there currently experiencing anxiety and depression in pregnancy can know they are not alone. We talk about the inspiration behind Partum and how important it was to Carli to not only create a marketplace that focused on moms first but also to create a safe space to talk about the hard things about motherhood We talk about what it's really like being an entrepreneur and building a business during COVID - something we both have in common, while also being the primary caretaker to young and energetic toddlers And we talk about how important it is for mamas to take care of themselves!
