Perfo joins us for a special recording in chapter 81 of our MindTrip Podcast. He was born in France but later he relocated to Berlin where he started releasing his own music in 2020. Since then, we have seen him on labels like AWRY, Hayes, and most recently on MindTrip with his brand-new 4-track EP titled "L'Aurore. Perfo is renowned for his dynamic sound and distinguishable powerful rhythms rife with cinematic overtures that shape a guiding vision of techno music. With every track he releases he takes the listeners on an introspective journey thanks to his distinctive, no-holds-barred approach to sound and design. This session is a perfect example of how he can combine traditional rhythms with an avant-garde, trippy style, and it perfectly captures his sound.

Ambitious and ready to continue his musical journey, Daniele Miladinov a.k.a Modern Abuse stays true to his vision of sound and successfully manages to diffuse his unique brand of energy within any space. His sound embodies experimental broken grooves, profound and hypnotic elements and reflects his major influences from Spanish techno. Apart from polishing his musical taste, Modern Abuse has also been focusing on the development of the local techno scene since the beginning of his journey. So far, he has had the opportunity to be invited on the same lineups with artists such as Kwartz, CONCEPTUAL, Freddy K, D-Leria, Quelza, Paula Koski, Annē, Perfo and to play at the well-known Suicide Club in Berlin. In 2021, Modern Abuse joined Friendship collective – a Berlin-based promoter of art and electronic music that organises interactive events and promotes unconventional techno internationally. From this point onwards, his circle of like-minded people has only been growing as well as his motivation. -- 021: Modern Abuse from Sofia, Bulgaria https://soundcloud.com/mod3rnabuse https://www.instagram.com/daniele.mdrn https://www.facebook.com/modernabuse

Mindful Performance Coach Taylor Brown explains how powerful the mind is at shaping athletic training, performance, and handling one's negative inner thoughts. Taylor is the founder and director of EnduroMind, a high-performance coaching program. In this episode, Taylor goes over his career as a rower and how he coaches Olympians on the mindset of performance. He also explains how to understand the stress and anxiety of the moment and have acceptance around it.The Mind-Body Gap“Push to the limit” is a common phrase often used in training. But what happens when the mind tells what the body is not? Taylor explains that this is what he calls the “Mind-Body Gap.” When at a high-level effort, the mind will convince you that you have reached 100 percent when in reality, the body is only around 80 percent of its physiological limit. The gap lies in the 20 percent you can physically give. Therefore, understanding the body's signals is a must to work with the body and not in opposition to it. Taylor expounds that when dealing with this gap, he asks himself whether he is physically capable of continuing despite the discomfort at the moment. Invariably, his answer is usually yes. He used his team's race against Harvard as an example, where he gave his all at the last 30 seconds despite the fatigue. About Taylor Brown:After a decade in high-performance sport, Taylor knows what holds many athletes back from realizing their true potential, and it's not talent or intelligence. It is one's relationship to their inner experiences like thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Taylor seeks to empower athletes and coaches through building mindful awareness, acceptance, and aligning their actions with their values. Taylor is a Certified Professional Coach and is trained in Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement. Taylor also produces a podcast, Mindful Sport Performance Podcast, with Drs. Keith Kaufman and Tim Pineau. Taylor holds a B.A. in Psychology from Brown University, where he competed on the men's D1 rowing team, placing top three nationally. Taylor earned an M.S. in Kinesiology @ UT - Austin.Episode Outline:[02:49] The big moment from Taylor's rowing career where team came together[07:58] What happened in the last 30 seconds of Taylor's rowing team going against Harvard[10:46] Mind-Body Gap: when the mind thinks you are at peak level, but the body is not[14:48] Taylor's approach in coaching and the preparation mindset around it[21:01] Training involves the mind, too, not just the physical aspect[23:20] Taylor helps prepare two female Athletes for the Tokyo Olympics[28:11] “People live at the effect of their experiences”[32:14] It is not the experience itself that causes screwing up but the relationship with it[37:15] Wrap-up of the episodeResources:To Join the Premium Membership, click here: https://themindsetforge.supercast.techTaylor's Website: https://www.enduromind.com/Austin Rowing Club Event: https://bit.ly/3zRVkloBrown University Vs. I'm probably not the first person to raise an eyebrow when Elder S Gifford Nielsen suggested loving ourselves is the "implied" 3rd great commandment. Why is this principle of loving ourselves so important right now? I mean, this is the age of selfies and "me" time. Do we really need to love ourselves more? Aren't we supposed to forget ourselves and go to work serving and loving others? What about the claim that if we don't love ourselves, then we cannot truly love God? Elder Gifford said this:Our Heavenly Father wants us to love ourselves -- not to become prideful or self-centered, but to see ourselves as He sees us--we are His cherished children. When this truth sinks deep into our hearts, our love for God grows. This week my special guest is Brennen Eisenhut. Brennen works in the field of performance psychology, which is something I always associated with professional sports, but the principles apply in almost all areas of life. Brennen coaches individuals, groups, and company employees to help them learn, achieve, and grow in almost any aspect of their lives. In this episode, Brennen talks about the importance of loving ourselves and practicing self-compassion. Such an important concept! He also discusses the inevitable challenge of achieving that perfect balance between self-compassion and self-indulgence. Brennen also shares his thoughts on something so many of us have experienced--The "shame trap," and how we can get ourselves "unstuck" when we fall into a pattern of shame, as opposed to experiencing godly guilt that brings us closer to the Lord. Finally, Brennen will leave us with three pieces of advice to help us become better at practicing self-compassion. We can all use a little more of that, can't we!Do ONE ThingThis week, the Do ONE Thing invitation is to practice one of Brennen's tips on becoming better at practicing self-compassion:1. View mistakes like both a scientist and a loving mother.2. The "Friend or Family Member" exercise3. Focusing forwardResources"This is Our Time" -- S. In the first installment of our Iowa Soccer Symposium mini-series we sat down with James Wagenschutz who is a performance coach now with the Colorado Rapids academy. He joins the Cornfed team to talk about how performances are tracked and how to get the best out of your players from a physicality level. He dives into some activities that you can do with your players and teams as well why it's important to start at an early age. This is a side of the game that is often looked over, however it is vitally important and we were thrilled that we could welcome James on to enlighten us and the listeners!
