Quebec's commercial real estate market has changed fast, and the old "local only" playbook does not hold up anymore. Louis Bergeron, partner at HPDG, joins Axel Monsaingeon to unpack what appraisers are seeing before the headlines: how developers now chase opportunities across the province, why 2024 felt frozen, and what shifted in 2025 to bring buyers and sellers closer together. Louis also shares the real story behind PDG's roots coming out of Desjardins, how the firm grew through acquisitions and mergers, and why a merger has to be "1 + 1 = 3" or it is not worth doing. They dig into PDG's full-service model from valuation and property management to tax appeals, litigation support, and expropriation tied to major projects like the REM and the Blue Line extension. Louis closes with what PDG is building for 2026, including a refreshed brand and a bigger push to share market insights, plus why comparing cap rates is often harder than people think.

No one likes checking their credit score and seeing a hit to the rating - even the Canadian government.Credit rating agencies are bracing for the upcoming November 4th federal budget, and with a lack of fiscal updates since the last federal budget under the Trudeau government, economists aren't quite sure what they should expect when it comes to the deficit. So just how deep could the red ink run? And will the minority federal government receive the backing from any of the opposition parties to get it passed through the House?Host Mike Eppel speaks to Randall Bartlett, Deputy Chief Economist at Desjardins to discuss what former-banker-turned-Prime Minister, Mark Carney, has up his sleeve for the upcoming budget, and what he plans to do about a potentially ominously large deficit. On Prophecy Radio episode #143, Karen and Kristen catch up on some news odds and ends, including some new Percy Jackson and the Olympians character posters. They also discuss The Red Pyramid chapters 39 and 40, including their favorite moments and a few very significant twists and turns. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air every other week. All discussions are PG-13. News and Updates (00:24:11) Character posters, ya'll! A trio poster that might be a repeat, but just in case you haven't seen it yet. Rick took a photo with our new Zoe Nightshade and her significantly annotated book. These kids are getting to do all kinds of stunts. Steph Lurie dressed up to put Mark and Rick on trial at the Texas Book Festival Happy Birthday, Virginia Kull! The Red Pyramid discussion (00:30:50) Mini recap, in case you need a refresher. Let's talk about chapter 39. We take a minute to coo over Rick's narrative style in this book. Zia confounds us with some pertinent but infuriating advice. Set's secret name is underwhelming, but we discuss how that might have been inevitable. Isis warns Sadie Sadie's visions could have each been their own chapter. For sure. Who will sit on these 3 thrones? A touching father/daughter moment to ease the pain. The tale of the four Kanes. Her mother saw what was coming, her father did what he had to do, and now Sadie and Carter must see it all through. Isis and Sadie merge and we get our rainbow-warrior-goddess moment. Favorite lines and Favorite moments Time for the penultimate chapter discussion! Sadie's dual vision might be one of the cooler story-telling devices I've read in a long time. Time for a trip to the capital! The real enemy is finally brought into the light. Sadie and Carter have a moment. Two twists in a row really show how much has been going on that we couldn't see earlier in the story. Set was being used just like he was puppeteering Amos. The enemy of my enemy might just come in useful later on, so we might have to spare them. This Zia twist is one we definitely didn't see coming. Desjardins is pissed and astonished at the Kane's willpower. On Prophecy Radio episode #142, Karen and Kristen dissect the latest Percy Jackson and the Olympians news, plus the release of The Court of the Dead by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro. They also discuss The Red Pyramid chapters 37 and 38, including their favorite moments and what they think will happen next. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air every other week. All discussions are PG-13. News and Updates (00:10:37) The Court of the Dead by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro is officially out in the world! Did you get any of the special editions? (We definitely did.) Did you see the pictures and videos of Rick signing books and Funkos? Leah turned 16 last month! Do these Percy Jackson and the Olympians behind-the-scenes clips mean we'll be getting another BTS documentary?? We go through a slightly older Entertainment Weekly article to discuss the next Senior Year Adventures book. When can we expect the third and final Senior Year book to come out? Rick is strictly a middle grade author, and we're cool with that. What other gods would make for good series fodder a la Trials of Apollo? Other character-centric books are still on the table, and boy do we want them! The Red Pyramid discussion (00:29:14) All right, let's refresh our brains on what happened last time. Good. Now we can jump into The Red Pyramid chapter 37. Why does Set keep flickering between forms? We've really come around on Amos since we learned the truth. Set is SO sassy, and we're kind of here for it. Horus still wants to take over Carter's body, and Carter is still telling him no. Uh, where the heck is Nephthys? Sadie protecc. Thank goodness Carter figures out what Zia meant when she told him not to resist. Carter turns into a total badass! Favorite lines and favorite scenes. All right, time to jump into The Red Pyramid chapter 38. Carter having fun fighting and beating up on Set is slightly concerning. Why do they BOTH bleed black? They're about to bring down the house, so Carter tricks Set into becoming a fruit bat and then drags him outside the pyramid. Will Sadie be able to free their dad from the throne and his sarcophagus? We kind of already knew how to defeat Set, but he really lays it out for Carter. Did we feel bad about what happened to Desjardins? We totally did not expect Set to put the capstone on top of the pyramid. Sadie is a freaking rainbow, y'all! What name could Sadie have shouted? We wanted to read the next chapter SO BAD! But we discuss our favorite lines and favorite moments instead. Feedback (01:09:31) Ensign_Davies and Maria write in to tell us what they think of The Court of the Dead. Caoimhe is super excited about Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, and she let's us know one of our previous episodes was missing links. That's all fixed now! Thanks for listening, and tune in next time for episode 143, where we'll discuss The Red Pyramid chapters 39 and 40, as well as get you up to date on more Percy Jackson and Rick Riordan news. Pierre Desjardins is the cofounder of C12, a Paris-based quantum computing hardware startup that specializes in carbon nanotube-based spin qubits. Notably, Pierre founded the company alongside his twin brother, Mathieu, making them the only twin-led deep-tech startups that we know of! Pierre's journey is unconventional—he is a rare founder in quantum hardware without a PhD, drawing instead on engineering and entrepreneurial experience. The episode dives into what drew him to quantum computing and the pivotal role COVID-19 played in catalyzing his career shift from consulting to quantum technology.C12's Technology and Unique AngleC12 focuses on developing high-performance qubits using single-wall carbon nanotubes. Unlike companies centered on silicon or germanium spin qubits, C12 fabricates carbon nanotubes, tests them for impurities, and then assembles them on silicon chips as a final step. The team exclusively uses isotopically pure carbon-12 to minimize magnetic and nuclear spin noise, yielding a uniquely clean environment for electron confinement. This yields ultra-low charge noise and enables the company to build highly coherent qubits with remarkable material purity.Key Technical InnovationsSpin-Photon Coupling: C12's system stands out for driving spin qubits using microwave photons, drawing inspiration from superconducting qubit architectures. This enables the implementation of a “quantum bus”—a superconducting interconnect that allows long-range coupling between distant qubits, sidestepping the scaling bottleneck of nearest-neighbor architectures.Addressable Qubits: Each carbon nanotube qubit can be tuned on or off the quantum bus by manipulating the double quantum dot confinement, providing flexible connectivity and the ability to maximize coherence in a memory mode.Stability and Purity: Pierre emphasizes that C12's suspended architecture dramatically reduces charge noise and results in exceptional stability, with minimal calibration drift, over years-long measurement campaigns—a stark contrast with many superconducting platforms.Recent MilestonesC12 celebrated its fifth anniversary and recently demonstrated the first qubit operation on their platform. The company achieved ultra-long coherence times for spin qubits coupled via a quantum bus, publishing these results in *Nature*. The next milestone is demonstrating two-qubit gates mediated by microwave photons—a development that could set a new benchmark for both C12 and the wider quantum computing industry.Challenges and OutlookC12's current focus is scaling up from single-qubit demonstrations to multi-qubit gates with long-range connectivity, a crucial step toward error correction and practical algorithms. Pierre notes the rapid evolution of error-correcting codes, remarking that some codes they are now working on did not exist two years ago. The interview closes with an eye on the race to demonstrate long-distance quantum gates, with Pierre hoping C12 will make industry headlines before larger competitors like IBM.Notable Quotes“The more you dig into this technology, the more you understand why this is just the way to build a quantum computer.”“We have the lowest charge noise compared to any kind of spin qubit—this is because of our suspended architecture.”“What we introduced is the concept of a quantum bus… really the only way to scale spin qubits.”Episode ThemesEntrepreneurship in deep tech without a traditional research backgroundTechnical deep dive on carbon nanotube spin qubits and quantum bus architectureMaterials science as the foundation of scalable quantum hardwareThe importance of coherence, noise reduction, and tunable architectures in quantum system designThe dynamic evolution of error correction and industry competitionListeners interested in cutting-edge hardware, quantum startup journeys, or the science behind scalable qubit platforms will find this episode essential. Pierre provides unique clarity on why C12's approach offers both conceptual and practical advantages for the future of quantum computing,

Chris D in conversation with David Eastaugh Chris D. (born Chris Desjardins) is an American punk poet, singer, writer, rock critic, producer, and filmmaker. He is best known as the lead singer and founder of the early and long-running Los Angeles punk/death rock band the Flesh Eaters. The Flesh Eaters were a staple of the L.A. punk scene in the 1980s.[7] The band played alongside seminal bands like The Misfits and The Meat Puppets.[3] A number of original Flesh Eaters releases, like River of Fever, were recorded through Shakeytown Music/BMI.[4] Others were produced by Upsetter, Invasion/Bomp, Zippo/Demon or SST. From 1989 to 1993 and from 1997 to 2000, Desjardins performed live with varying line-ups of The Flesh Eaters. During the first of these periods, three more albums came out on SST Records: Dragstrip Riot (1991), Sex Diary of Mr. Vampire (1992), and Crucified Lovers in Woman Hell (EP - 1993).Two additional albums, Ashes of Time (1999) and Miss Muerte (2004), were released.
On Prophecy Radio episode #140, Karen and Kristen discuss the latest Percy Jackson and the Olympians news, including the Artemis and Zoe Nightshade casting, plus the Percy Jackson 20th anniversary! We also breakdown The Red Pyramid chapters 33 and 34. New episodes of Prophecy Radio will air every other week. All discussions are PG-13. News and Updates (00:09:50) What's been going on with us? Books and work and football, oh my! There's a lot of news to talk about this week, even though we did a whole episode on the news last week! We go through the Percy Jackson season 2 stills from EW. Did you go see Freakier Friday and see one of the Percy Jackson cast members?? Karen is maybe too candid about her type. Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 has started filming! Is that…a monster? How excited are we about the Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 casting of Artemis and Zoe Nightshade? Are we waiting on anymore major casting for season 3? Can you believe it's been 20 years since The Lightning Thief has been released? Be sure to check out the Walt Disney Company's interview with Rick Riordan! Everyone wished Percy Jackson a happy birthday, including the Empire State Building. Don't forget Court of the Dead comes out on September 23! We finish up with favorite scenes and favorite lines. The Red Pyramid discussion (00:34:26) Let's kick this thing off with our The Red Pyramid chapter 33 discussion. Why are the gods so annoying!? Man, Desjardins really hates those kids. Think this will come back to bite him later? They land in a salsa factory, which they then light on fire, and we simply cannot begin to imagine that kind of pain. Yeah, Sekhmet seems like a god you don't want to mess with. Zia has a great plan that involves a lot of salsa but omg can you imagine if it had been GREEN? Do we trust Zia!? Doughboy to the rescue! We discuss our favorite scenes and favorite lines. Next up: Our Red Pyramid chapter 34 discussion. It's a good thing Carter has been practicing summoning things from the Duat. His coat is VERY sassy. And rude. Okay, something is seriously going on with Zia. What did Iskandar do to her?? When she talks about the fact that “he” is coming back, who do you think she meant? At least now we know where the fifth goddess went. Who the heck is Set controlling!? Zia does not need to be in the spotlight, and we love that about her. Amos is back–is this good or bad? Thanks for listening, and tune in next time for episode 141, where we'll discuss The Red Pyramid chapters 35 and 36, as well as get you up to date on more Percy Jackson and Rick Riordan news. The Net Promoter System Podcast – Customer Experience Insights from Loyalty Leaders
Episode 253: Desjardins thought its cooperative roots made it member-first by default. Then members started leaving. Desjardins is a 125-year-old financial co-op based in Quebec. It has deep community ties and a proud history. But that pride masked a painful truth: Members no longer saw it as customer-centric. The organization believed its cooperative structure guaranteed loyalty—until low NPS scores and rising member churn showed otherwise. Mathieu Staniulis and Séverine Clairet recount how Desjardins confronted its own mythology, restructured governance, and began treating feedback as a system, not a score. Desjardins' wake-up call came in the early 2010s. Despite its co-op status, members said the experience felt disjointed. Branches operated as near-independent entities. “It was really difficult to see the full scope of our company because we were presenting ourselves as different companies,” says Mathieu. CEO Guy Cormier led a bold move: unifying the 17 siloed organizations within Desjardins under a single governance structure. But structure alone wasn't enough. Internally, CX, risk, and profit still pulled in different directions. As Mathieu puts it, “People in charge of customer experience only talk about customer experience and NPS. People in P&L ownership talk about their performance—their bottom line. How can they improve their performance, especially on the financial metrics? And then you have the risk people trying to manage risk and deal with regulators always bringing new regulations, especially in the financial industry. And I believe we have to find a way to work together to balance customer experience, efficiency or financial metrics, and risk management.” The challenge became about integrating those forces to make balanced, member-first decisions—without sacrificing performance. Now Desjardins faces a new frontier: recreating intimacy in a digital world. Transactions moved online. But financial advice—the core of trust and loyalty—remains unsolved. The question, Mathieu says, is urgent and unanswered: “How do we bring advice into a digital world?” Guests: Mathieu Staniulis, Vice President, Products, Solutions & Digital, and Chief Transformation Officer | Séverine Clairet, Vice President Customer Experience & Marketing Strategy, Desjardins Host: Rob Markey, Partner, Bain & Company Give us feedback: Customer Confidential Podcast Feedback Send us a note: Contact Rob Time-Stamped Topics 00:01 – A logout button reveals blind spots in member experience 00:04 – Desjardins' founding story: community aid in a kitchen 00:06 – “Member-owned” in theory vs. practice across 17 silos 00:08 – How Guy Cormier unified Desjardins under one governance model 00:09 – Why NPS lagged despite a strong co-op identity 00:12 – “The S means system”: transforming how feedback drives action 00:15 – Balancing CX, P&L, and risk without silos 00:18 – The call center debate: cost now vs. loyalty later 00:20 – Journey teams as a model for cross-functional accountability 00:21 – Digital did the easy part, so what comes next? 00:22 – Can “digital” be intimate? The next frontier for co-ops Notable Quotes [15:00] “It was really difficult to see the full scope of our company because we were presenting ourselves as different companies. … We had to pivot from working together, but in silos.” [16:00] “We believe we're member-focused, but we were lagging in NPS. We were also losing membership, so we had to pivot and change all of that, changing the way we look internally at our performance, raising NPS as the top KPI for our company.” [16:00] “That's the equation of NPS. Buying more, referring more, and staying longer mean more profitability. For P&L, it means better risk management, because there's a tendency to lower your risk when you have loyal customers with you. So you have to bring that all together.” [17:00] “We were very proud of Desjardins, especially in the Quebec market. In some lines of products, we have almost 40% market share. You will see a branch of Desjardins in every town. It's deep in our roots.” Additional Resources Read Bain's case study, From Laggard to Leader: Desjardins Evolves Member Centricity for the Digital Age: https://www.bain.com/client-results/from-laggard-to-leader-desjardins-evolves-member-centricity-for-the-digital-age/

From Sept 23rd-10/1 they will be hitting 9 stops across the US. Check out the dates and locations here. The Red Pyramid discussion (00:23:31) Chapter 31: Who can we trust these days? Quick recap: Zia says not to trust Amos, and then guess who magically appears? Sadie is emotional about Bast's sacrifice, so it's good Carter handled that last chapter. Amos's look is not what Karen imagined. Set used Amos like a statue in a garden for the demons' amusement. Is Set the ultimate mastermind? or did Amos give him the slip? Best place to hide is definitely in a government missle-testing range. Let's hope Amos is wrong and Bast will be back sooner rather than later. Sadie has already made SO MANY SACRIFICES! Ba meet Geb. We swoon a little over Geb's heart pocket. What was with that cryptic message, Geb?! Favorite scenes and favorite lines. Chapter 32: Let's see where we stand. Muffin is giving every cat in this scene. Rick to readers: "We are not pulling a John Wick here." They can't trust Amos enough to tell him the plan, but they can definitely use his boat. Time to eat some yummy food in Las Cruces-Messilla. Just as Zia is defending Desjardins' allegiance against Set, he shows up and sticks to his script. Amos using storm magic?! Talk about a red flag. Zia's ultra-powerful column of fire proves she is all in with Sadie & Carter. Desjardins gets desperate... and summons Sekhmet! Favorite scenes and favorite lines. Despite all the noise about tariffs and their potential impact, it appears the Canadian economy is actually weathering the storm. An interest rate cut looked like a slam dunk a month ago and now, with signs that the economy isn't falling off a cliff, it's highly doubtful that those rates will be going down.So what to make of where we're at in this economy? How do you plan when things are so unpredictable? Host Mike Eppel breaks it down with Royce Mendes, Managing Director and head of Macro Strategy at Desjardins. From Startup Founder to Ecosystem Bridge-BuilderIlias Benjelloun's journey began with identifying untapped talent in Canada's tech scene and helping create community among builders. He transitioned from launching startups to developing programs at large institutions like Desjardins, where he helped align startup innovation with corporate goals. His goal has remained constant: unlocking value trapped by outdated structures and accelerating impact through strategic collaboration.Building Innovation Programs with PurposeDuring his time at Desjardins, Ilias led several key initiatives including a $250M fund, a corporate accelerator, and a pre-incubator. What made these efforts unique was their grounding in local ecosystem needs, not top-down mimicry of Silicon Valley models. His philosophy is simple but powerful: start with what you have, listen to the community, and complement what's missing. He was also an early advocate for integrating SDGs into innovation frameworks, proving that financial returns and social impact can go hand-in-hand.Lessons from Around the WorldHaving traveled to innovation hubs in the Middle East, San Francisco, and beyond, Ilias observed a few standout patterns: corporate investors are entering earlier, opening doors more readily, and embracing a pay-it-forward culture that fosters genuine collaboration. By contrast, some ecosystems - including parts of Canada - remain more cautious, often waiting until startups are less risky. Ilias believes this risk aversion can be overcome through smart partnerships and shared learning. The Untapped Power of the African DiasporaIlias is now focused on activating a massively underutilized force: the African diaspora in Europe and North America. These globally connected individuals hold cultural insights, technical expertise, and business potential that is often overlooked. He argues for shifting the narrative away from DEI as a moral obligation and toward viewing inclusion as a strategic business advantage, especially in sectors like climate tech, agtech, and water innovation where frugal solutions are in high demand.A New Model for Global CollaborationTo turn this vision into reality, Ilias advocates for partnerships with anchor corporates in target countries - like OCP in Morocco - and creating consortiums that lower the risk of startup collaboration. This requires intermediaries with cultural fluency and operational know-how to translate between regions. He sees VivaTech as a prime example of where these global bridges can be built, linking France, Canada, Africa, and beyond. His mission is to move from talk to action, harnessing innovation not just for returns, but for systemic change.

On Prophecy Radio episode #137, Karen and Kristen chat about The Red Pyramid chapters 29 and 30! They also talk about a bunch of book news from Rick Riordan, Roseanne A. Brown, and Roshani Chokshi. New episodes of Prophecy Radio will air every other week. All discussions are PG-13. News and Updates (00:11:32) Kristen talks about her trip to Maine! We loved Rick's Pride post. Have you picked up your copy of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: A Guide to Gods & Monsters? Will you be picking up a copy of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 tie-in novel? Roseanne A. Brown has a new duology coming out in 2027 and we are SO EXCITED. Did you catch the cover of The Swan's Daughter: A Possibly Doomed Love Story by Roshani Chokshi? The Red Pyramid discussion (00:27:37) We kick off with our The Red Pyramid chapter 29 discussion. Time to drive through Interstate 10 in Texas! Bast is great at “borrowing” vehicles–but don't worry, no one will be missing this one. We think. Carter has a theory. What do we think of it? What does Kristen think is going on with Desjardins? Who would YOU trust to drive the vehicle? Sadie does NOT want Carter to ask her any questions. We get some great insight into what is going on with Bast. There's NO WAY this will be relevant in the next chapter, right? Why did Anubis appear so hot to Sadie? Did Rick know what Bast's plan was when he wrote this chapter? Carter needs some alone time with his sword BUT IT'S NOT WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE. Horus is great at talking when you don't want him to and terrible at talking when you do. What does Kristen think of Zia's motivations? Uh, what's this about not trusting Amos?? Favorite scenes and favorite lines, as always. Time for our Red Pyramid chapter 30 discussion. Cats love to pounce, even if driving to the top of a mountain is super inconvenient. Why does Carter feel like this place is familiar? They need to speak into the water to make Nepthys appear, but Carter and Khufu are not liking the vibes. Despite it being a quick interaction, the immigrant family crossing the boarder seems like a poignant part of this chapter given everything going on these days. Sadie goes down, so it's Carter's time to shine. Too bad he has to take on a 20-foot tall god names Sobek. Carter proves himself in the fight, especially because he's able to control Horus. Bast is gone, but probably not forever. …Right!? They've still got problems, but at least Philip of Macedonia is there to save them! Oh, and Uncle Amos. But can they trust him?? Favorite scenes and favorite lines. His methodology is built on comprehensive research on underlying fundamentals, rigorous scenario analysis, and a low-frequency, high-conviction approach for idea generation. Mirza is now based in Canada and works for Desjardins, where he focuses on G7 currency research. US President Donald Trump dubbed it 'Liberation Day', and it seemed like numbers across the North American stock market took the word 'liberate' and headed south. Besides the historic plunging of some of Wall Street's benchmarks as a result of the Trump's latest tariff announcement on April 2, his long-term goal of a stronger America seems more farther in the distance than he might've originally projected. But what exactly did he project? And was there any sort of input from the big players he's now backing into a corner to make his domestic-grown dreams come true? Host Mike Eppel speaks to Chief Deputy Economist at Desjardins, Randall Bartlett to make sense of the numbers. We love feedback at The Big Story, as well as suggestions for future episodes. On October 3, 1996, 42-year-old Audrey Desjardins finished her night shift at a fruit packing plant in St. Davids, Ontario. After dropping off a friend in Welland, she vanished without a trace—along with her red Ford Crown Victoria. Despite extensive searches, including multiple dives in regional waterways, neither Audrey nor her vehicle has ever been found. Nearly three decades later, her case remains one of Niagara's most haunting mysteries. In this episode, we explore the details of her disappearance, the unanswered questions, and the ongoing efforts to find out what happened to Audrey Desjardins.--This podcast is recorded on the territories of the Coast Salish people.Music Composed by: Sayer Roberts - https://soundcloud.com/user-135673977 // shorturl.at/mFPZ0Subscribe to TNTC+ on Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/TNTCJoin our Patreon: www.patreon.com/tntcpodMerch: https://www.teepublic.com/stores/true-north-true-crime?ref_id=24376Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tntcpod/Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/tntcpodFollow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/truenorthtruecrime Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Who exactly is evil here? Is it Desjardins? Is it Amos? Why is everyone suddenly a cartoon villain and what the heck is going on with Zia? We've got a lot to figure out here in the desert of New Mexico, and a lot of new flavors to expose Sadie to. [Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Yellowjackets, Season 3, Episode 3, "Dislocation."]Raise your hand if you judged Callie way too soon during Season 1 of Yellowjackets. Callie is the only teenager in the present day timeline, and she often acts like it. She's moody, rarely listens to her parents and, in Season 1, Episode 5, crossed a major line by wearing Jackie's (Ella Purnell) Yellowjackets jersey as a Halloween costume. Sure, one could label that bratty, if not cruel behavior, but as Sarah Desjardins pointed out during her Collider Ladies Night interview, we can't forget that Callie is a child, and she's a child that's been subjected to quite a few head-spinning and disturbing situations courtesy of her parents' (Melanie Lynskey and Warren Kole) twisted past and present. While Callie appears to be keeping it somewhat cool at the start of Season 3, there's no doubt there's a lot bubbling up underneath because, as Jeff explains, Callie just witnessed her mother's friends wearing animal masks chasing her through the woods with knives, she shot one of them, and then saw Natalie (Juliette Lewis) die. Sure, they arrived at Lottie's (Simone Kessell) wellness center with “five Dateline's worth of problems,” but the problems they added to that list while there changed the game big time for Callie. In the first few episodes of Season 3, we start to get a sense of how. With the first three episodes of Yellowjackets Season 3 now available to stream on Paramount+, Desjardins swung by the Collider Ladies Night studio to explain how she took the character from a seemingly stereotypical bratty teenager, to a highly determined - and often manipulative - young adult who's been heavily shaped by her mother's mysterious past and will stop at nothing to get answers. Today, we're looking at Liberal front-runner Mark Carney's campaign stop in Kelowna, B.C., where he vowed to use emergency powers to develop green technology in an effort to take on the Americans. Plus, Canada's premiers travelled to Washington to meet with U.S. officials, delivering a dismissive message of any talk surrounding Canada becoming the 51st state. While there, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said that diplomatic efforts were working and expressed optimism that the two countries could reach more deals. And finally, despite firm pledges from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Immigration Minister Marc Miller, new analysis from Desjardins suggests the immigration levels are continuing at sky-high levels.
