Brett & Dani are back again, this time to close the book on Survivor 47 once and for all. Rachel won the season, but was that really all that surprising? What about fairness in the fire-making competition, Jeff!? Later in the episode, they recap a pair of movies that neither of them liked very much: the interestingly awful Joker: Folie a Deux and the boringly disappointing Carry-On. It's Friday and we're rounding up the biggest news of the week. First, construction is imminent on the much-anticipated Bus Rapid Transit project along Colfax. Will the roadwork impact access to local businesses in a lasting way? Will the famous strip lose its character? Will drivers actually get out of their cars and get on the bus? Host Bree Davies is joined by Pete's Satire bartender and AAA spokesperson Skyler McKinley and Sie FilmCenter's artistic director Keith Garcia to discuss these changes to the neighborhood where they both work and live. Then, producer Olivia Jewell Love ranks her least-favorite halloween candy and the crew discuss the closure of Natural Grocers and Steve's Snappin' Dogs, Mutiny Information Cafe's grand reopening, and more wins and fails of the week. Bree mentioned her 2023 interview with Amy Cara, one of the developers behind Cherry Creek West project, which was approved by City Council this week. Skyler discussed RTD's lack of transparency around the firing of its police chief. Keith talked about the upcoming Denver Film Festival. What do you think about the BRT construction's impact on Colfax businesses? June 7, 2024 ~ Greg Russell reviews "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" and "Movie Pass, Movie Crash."
Trump's election subversion case in Georgia is on hold thanks to a Georgia appeals court. The court wants a panel of judges to decide whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified before the case moves forward. It's a victory for Trump as he tries to push his legal issues past the date of the presidential election. Donald Trump is a felon, he no longer has the right to carry a gun in the state of New York. The New York City police department is revoking Trump's license after suspending his permit to carry a concealed weapon last year. We'll ask former federal prosecutor, now defense attorney, David Katz about all of it. Also, Trump support is weakening in latest follow-up polling. Actor Kelley Aucoin will join us to talk about his latest project.

Do you have that one spot in the city where your phone calls always get dropped? Or that place in your house where cell service is nonexistent? According to a new story from Denver Post reporter Megan Ulu-Lani Boyanton, the trees on your block might be to blame. Megan joins host Bree Davies and producer Olivia Jewell Love to dig into the cell service dilemma, along with her forthcoming story, just in time for Valentine's Day — does Denver still live up to its nickname “Menver,” a place overflowing with single men? Plus, the welcome closure of that exploitative animal entertainment joint in Southwest Plaza Mall, an expansion of tenants' rights, and more Stanley cup drama make our list of Rocky Mountain highs and lows of the week. We talked about some of Westword's past "Menver" coverage, which you can read here. Megan mentioned the Girls Gotta Eat podcast episode about dating in Denver. If you have thoughts on Denver's “Menver” nickname or want to share your Mile High dating experience, you can reach Megan via email: mboyanton@denverpost.com. What do you think? In this week's Gathering, we looked at Babylon not just as a specific kingdom but as a repeating archetype of kingdom power. That sparked plenty of questions for our JourneyNOW roundtable panel of Mike Erre, Suzie Lind, Tim Timmons and Kevin Dixon. Can we apply that archetype to our own world and cultures? And, how do we live in exile in those cultures as people who are centered on Jesus? Plus: Bad theories on the secrets of Suzie's success; Kevin brings back Ocean Pacific style; Mike's best quality is just not being so bad; and Tim tries to remember where he is. - - - You can go deeper with us in our study of Revelation with the books on Journey's specially curated Amazon book list for the series. It's a Tuesday, which means Rob & Rob are answering another pair of your questions! First is a question from an avid listener, Maddie. She's getting far in her investment journey, and she wants to know the sweet spot of rental income percentage when you're hoping to finally quit your job. Taking a buffer for maintenance costs into account, Maddie wants to know what percentage she should aim for. The second question is from Gazi. He wants to know if the current cost of living crisis (and rising interest rates) mean that now is not the right time to do a flip. But if it is, how does he mitigate the risk as far as an exit strategy goes. Press play and hear what Rob & Rob have to say. Do you have a buy-to-let or property investment related question for Rob & Rob? You could feature on the next episode by giving us a call on 013 808 00035 and leaving a message with your name and question (normal UK call rates apply). Tolkien lore spoilers abound, so take care if you happening to be reading The Silmarillion, but no spoilers for the actual Rings of Power TV show. Plus: Bad luck for Anne Boleyn, Orly's fee, Time's Square at 5pm on a Thursday, a smokin' Sauron, and the dark weird forest of interesting turns. First up, we're sharing a blast from the past blast from the past, an interview that we conducted in 2013 via our comrades from A-Radio Berlin with a participant in the autonomous anti-capitalist street movement in Germany in the latter half of the 20th century known as Autonomen. Specifically, the guest speaks about the context of anonymous street actions during May Day of 1987 in the district of then-West Berlin known as Kreuzberg and about the tactic that became known as Black Bloc. Apologies for the audio quality of this portion. Then, you'll be hearing portions of the May 2022 episode of Bad News: Angry Voices From Around The World by the A-Radio Network, of which the already-mentioned Berlin crew is also a member. You'll hear: comrades from Free Social Radio 1431AM in Thessaloniki, Greece with some updates from that country. Then, friends at Črna luknja in Lubjlana, Slovenia, shares an interview with members of the autonomous social center in Trieste known as Germinal on the 10th anniversary of that space.
