Coach Stout was a collegiate thrower at Southern Illinois, The University of Charleston, and Ashland University. Stout was a 4-time State Champion sweeping the West Virginia Class A Shot put and Discus for two consecutive years. Coach Stout won the national championship in the shot put and placed fourth in the discus at the 2013 AAU National Junior Olympics.
