The Crew of The Way learned they are not the only beings alive aboard the Dollhouse. They discovered the ship’s crew mangled and massacred, and a gruesome lab of human and clone experiments being done aboard the Imperial research vessel. After surviving a surprise attack by a terrifying new kind of trooper, Elo’s reality disrupting glitches compelled them to violently remove the mask from their shadowy advisory. Elo, Beegax, and their crew may not be alone in the darkness of this ship, but the promise of credits and salvage entices them further into it’s depths. Elo, Beegax and their crew find themselves aboard a derelict Imperial research vessel, codenamed "The Dollhouse". Looking for loot they found the violent aftermath of some secret experiment gone horribly wrong! With no survivors the abandoned ship drifted into unmarked routes through the Expanse Region of the galaxy, and yet "The Dollhouse" may not be as empty as originally thought. Now the fringers hope their scavenging will be worth the danger of whoever or whatever stalks them from the shadows. In search of repairs for their ship, The Crew of the Way find themselves on the ring of Kafrene, a failed mining operation and busy trading hub occupied by the Empire. Needing to earn a few extra credits and learn a safe route through wild space, Elo and Beegax agree to take on a job, locating and looting a derelict Imperial ship rumored to be floating unprotected somewhere in the Expansion region. After probing for more information and a few more credits at a backroom sabacc game, the way crew is ready to once again jump into the unknown and potential dangers found abundantly at the Empire’s Edge. The plan is in motion. Beegax, Elo, and the crew of The Way have done all they can to prepare for the ambitious take over of two sets of artillery. And with the sudden death of criminal Zalto the Hutt, they race against time in order to raise chaos amongst the factions in and around the planet Socorro, in order to escape the frontier system. Equal parts cunning, subterfuge, bravery, and luck are required to pull off their difficult scheme, balanced upon a razor thin margin for error. The cards are dealt, all bets are off, and the crew of The Way have made a plan to deal with not only their blackmail blues, but the criminal leaders on the dusty frontier of Socorro. Outer Rim fringers, Elo and Beegax, have once again traveled to the walled city of Cjallysce'i in hopes of finding the son of Elo’s former Bothan master. Trying to keep their movements untracked, they journeyed through underground volcanic tunnels to reach their destination in secret. But after finding their mark within a discreet safe house, the fringers were ambushed by an unknown IG assassin unit and Beegax was shot by blaster bolt. Who is hunting our hapless heroes? Will they make it out of the walled city alive once more? Will Elo be forced to choose between their duty or their alliance? On the return trip couriering from the Imperial base on Scarif, the crew of The Way panicked after plowing into a pod of pesky purrgils, knocking their ship out of light speed. Elo believed they were on the verge of understanding their strange glitches and once again recruited Beegax’s help to slice into they’re own mind. However the delve into the droid’s depths went much deeper than they expected, pulling Beegax and Elo into a strange miasma. Pushing for answers Elo found themselves on the planet Dathomir among the mysterious Nightsisters, during a surprise attack by Separatist forces. Both fringers made it back firmly aboard their ship but with unanswered questions, unexplainable experiences, and unfinished business. CONTENT WARNING: dismemberment, loud W.A.P. in the episode tag Heading back to the planet Socorro, Elo interfaced with their ship, The Way, in an attempt to scan for pirate threats when entering the system. But Elo was unexpectedly drawn into some mysterious part of their program, and found themselves on the surface of Dathomir, a remote world shrouded in mystery. Before Elo could investigate the cause of this strange glitch, the crew was ejected out of light speed after almost colliding with a pod of purrgils traveling through the Outer Rim expanse. Elo and Beegax decided to probe further into the droid's processors, hoping to uncover the bizarre malfunctions. But as the fringers dove into the droid's memories, Beegax was ejected from the system, and Elo pushed on seeking answers alone in the strange fog. Against Beegax’s own advice, the fringers have taken a job for Zalto the Hutt, who has hired them to make an exchange on the Imperial outpost of Scarif. Now they are caught in the middle of a dangerous power struggle between the corpulent criminal and the machiavellian malefactors of Socorro. On which side will their loyalties fall, who is worth more to betray, and will they be able to come away unscathed or be buried among the shallow graves of those that stood against these crime lords of the Outer Rim? Beegax and Elo have accepted a job from gregarious gangster, Zalto the Hutt. Transporting cargo and materials between the Outer Rim world of Socorro, and the Imperial occupied paradise of Scarif. In exchange they learned of a Bothan residing behind the clandestine walls of Cjaalysce'i, identified as Sno Ba’all. A possible lead in their search for the Bothan Spy Gir Tu’Tey. But Elo and Beegax are caught between sides, pressured to assassinate Zalto for the crime lords of Socorro, or to turn the tables and ally with the hubristic Hutt. All while the Empire moves in to suppress insurgent activity in the region and continue their search for stolen slicing equipment. The fearless fingers are anxious to leave the desert world as tensions and occupying forces mount around this dusty frontier. ‼️IMPORTANT LINKS AND TOOLS‼️ Bond Funds: Oregon - PDX Protest Bail Fund Portland Freedom Fund Chicago - Chicago Community Bond Fund Los Angeles: People's City Council Freedom Fund Oakland / San Jose Democratic Socialists of America Silicon Valley National organizations: NAACP ACLU Visit Black Lives Matter to donate and find the nearest chapter in your area. Kirstie Tostevin is on the line with me, and she is head of marketing at FXhome. We're going to talk about them quite a bit. Kirstie, I'm really excited about you because you bridge marketing, technology, and creativity. It's wonderful. So welcome on the show, we have a lot to talk about, and I can hardly wait. Thank you so much. I'm so pleased to be on your show. I'm really excited. Of course, you're not going to tell me anything different. I can be quite blunt. Yeah, you're right. There you go. For those of you listening, Kirstie and I met during NAB in April when we were just launching OWC, and we had the founders of FXhome on the show at that time. Kirstie, you and I bonded immediately, I love smart people and creative people, so it's just so nice to reconnect with you. And it just happens to come also on the heels of this monstrous press release that I got about, and I didn't even know where to start, there was a lot in there. So I don't know whether I should thank or curse Kevin for everything that's in here. So let's talk about how as a marketing person, for a tech company, you really do need to know a little bit of everything, right? So what is your background, and how did you get into all of this? Well, that is quite a question. I remember you speaking to Josh, our CEO, in the last interview, and he kind of gave you an answer you didn't quite expect because he started in the history of art. I started in English literature, which was fantastic, but it was very much the case that touch a computer at your peril, you really should be writing with a fountain pen type situation. So I was actually very non-techie. And I was working in marketing because that's what I love, and I was doing some just kind of general marketing research for the university I was at. Then I saw this opportunity come up with FXhome, and they said they made visual effects software for filmmakers, and I was like, Oh my God. I have to apply for this job. It sounds amazing. And it was a complete baptism of fire because would you believe I didn't know that Mac and PC were different distances when I started, it was that bad. Oh my gosh, you are forgiven. Thank you. I really don't know whether I should have said that, now I think about it. I think that probably gives you an idea of just how bad I was with tech. But this particular company, you've talked to them already, they're fantastically fun, they're very generous with their knowledge. And I've been here for about seven years now,

It's official! We are over the hill (in podcast episode numbers, that is). But it's meagre milestone when we realize we're going for 400 easily. In this episode we talk about what it's like editing a feature with Davinci Resolve, once thought to only be a colour grading application. Until BlackMagic released version 12 with some NLE capabilities. It's not exactly the easiest transition in the world to change over to Resolve though... Video Copilot came bursting into the party with a new plug-in (FOR FREE!). The Saber Plug-In for After Effects helps you create lightsabers, glow fade-off, lasers and other glowy, sci-fi stuff (http://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2016/03/new-plug-in-saber-now-available-100-free/). PLUS, we have a contest! And you can win a pretty sweet prize. Our good pals over at Post Notes have released a plug-in that brings your to-do list of revisions and notes from the director directly into a Premiere panel. No more switching back and forth between Premiere and your email thread with the director or Preview with a pdf of changes to make (http://postnotes.io/). So here's how you can win a copy of Post Notes for yourself: leave an iTunes review for the podcast...yeah, yeah, it's a shameful "Hungry for iTunes Reviews Contest" play, but whatever we're going with it and you get a copy of a handy plugin. Step 1: Write us an iTunes review. Honestly, it can be anything. But whatever you write, we will read on our next episode. You need to submit it before March 26th 11:59PM to qualify. Step 2: E-mail us at CommandEditPodcast@Gmail.com and let us know what your iTunes username is and which review is yours. Y'know, so we can reward you. Step 3: Wait. That's it. We will randomly pick a winner from all reviewers. As the host of over 160 tutorials and creator of title sequences for tv's Fringe and the film Star Trek, Andrew Kramer has participated in many forms of production: from visual effects artist, to directing commercials and promos. His website Video Copilot has been a progressive force in the visual effects industry, with his upbeat training style and innovative plug-ins. As a freelance artist and web designer at age 20, Andrew began to work on the Video Copilot website from his apartment in Southern California. The website started with a single product and a handful of short After Effects tutorials that were featured on the Creative Cow community. His unusual training style and off-beat humor intrigued viewers by showing them powerful techniques for visual effects that were detailed and also entertaining. The site's online presence has also led to collaborations for Andrew to work with major companies and even the unique opportunity to work with Director J.J. Abrams on film & tv Projects. Video Copilot has since published over 40 hours of training and has over a dozen professional products and plug-ins used by creative professionals around the world. Andrew continues to work in the film industry in addition to publishing new, exciting products and tutorials for the growing motion graphics and visual effects community. In this Podcast, Andrew talks about what inspired him to launch Video Copilot, his experience working with J.J. Abrams, as well as gives advice on the most important skills when starting out as a VFX artist. For more show notes, visit www.allanmckay.com/29/.
