In today's episode, we chatted with David Voorhies from the Left Brained Artist YouTube channel. We talk about how he has grown his community around an idea or thought that people might have. What it means to be a YouTube creator, how he schedules his content, how much money he's making from content creation, and SO much more! About David David is a Computer Technology guy by trade, but he has always enjoyed watching other people create art. In 2019, he started seeing acrylic paint pouring on social media and decided to try it for himself and was immediately hooked. There wasn't a lot of information on how to paint pour though, so he started the Leftbrainedartist blog in 2018 and a YouTube channel in 2020. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.02.10.528061v1?rss=1 Authors: Willbrand, E. H., Jackson, S., Chen, S., Hathaway, C. B., Voorhies, W. I., Bunge, S. A., Weiner, K. S. Abstract: Identifying structural-functional correspondences is a major goal among biologists. In neurobiology, recent findings identify relationships between performance on cognitive tasks and the presence or absence of small, shallow indentations, or sulci, of the human brain. Here, we tested if the presence or absence of one such sulcus, the paraintermediate frontal sulcus (pimfs-v) in lateral prefrontal cortex, was related to relational reasoning in young adults from the Human Connectome Project (ages 22-36). After manually identifying 2,877 sulci across 144 hemispheres, our results indicate that the presence of the pimfs-v in the left hemisphere was associated with a 21-34% higher performance on a relational reasoning task. These findings have direct developmental and evolutionary relevance as recent work shows that the presence or absence of the pimfs-v is also related to reasoning performance in a pediatric cohort, and that the pimfs-v is exceedingly rare in chimpanzees. Thus, the pimfs-v is a novel developmental, cognitive, and evolutionarily relevant feature that should be considered in future studies examining how the complex relationships among multiscale anatomical and functional features of the brain give rise to abstract thought. Love for OthersFor Nancy Voorhies, it has always been about people. No matter where she was or what she was doing, people were her priority, although she could have never foreseen how exactly this love of people would play out in her life. College-aged Nancy had one goal — pursuing the arts. She auditioned at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for its piano performance program. To her surprise, she didn't make the cut but was asked to audition for voice instead.  Unlike anything she imagined, Nancy began studying to be an opera singer. But through a turn of events, she found herself using her music more in churches than on the opera stage. Her dream of performing on stage quickly fizzled as she learned the rigor of traveling from city-to-city was less appealing. She'd rather just talk with people and listen to their stories. So, while living in the Dayton, Ohio, area, Nancy visited friends at Cedarville University. It was during one of her encounters at Cedarville that she was asked to pursue a job at the university. As a Canadian, even if she wanted the position, this idea seemed far-fetched. How could a non-US citizen secure a job in America without a green card or work permit? After a long hiring process and obtaining work permits, Nancy started a job in Advancement as a major gift officer. And, truth be told, she is the first major gift officer hired at Cedarville University. The position is a perfect fit with Nancy's skillset and personality. She loves to talk with people, hearing their stories, and building relationships. As a result, two of the most significant gifts have been given to Cedarville University, one being the library of Warren Wiersbe.

In her work, Ms. Moss has worked with the Michigan Election Force and similar organizations in other states and has found that no voting machine in the United States can be honestly certified as safe The certifications that are publicized by all levels of government -- in every county in America and the state and federal governments -- tend to occur after an examination of one machine by an individual who is most often not an expert about the machine, or even has a basic knowledge of how the machines operate.Indeed, most state legislatures have delegated (unconstitutionally?) their constitutional responsibility to supervise state elections to their state's "Secretary-of-State''. Because this has occurred, the Secretary-of-State in most states is the one and only certifier of his state's voting machines, whether or not he has any pertinent competence to do so. The states' offices of Secretary-of-State are the centers of electoral corruption in America. Mr. Voorhies added only minimal progress has been made to safeguard the security of national elections, but he agreed with other commentators that a massive anti-Biden/Democrats vote has a chance to carry the day in the midterms. That said, Americans will, even after the midterms, remain at war with a coalition of Communists, Globalists, Democrats, and their supporters. The republic still will be at risk. “Listening to Two Mikes will make you smarter!”- Gov Robert L. Ehrlich, JrSponsors

Two Mikes finally had Zach Vorhies on this afternoon. Mr. Vorhies worked as a software engineer at Goggle until he quit after finding the depth of the company's political partisanship and disregard for the 1st Amendment. Mr. Voorhies said that Google spent whatever it took -- in terms of money, equipment, and manpower -- to create effective programs to censor conservative speech. Indeed, Google's determination to censor caused a slower growth at Youtube. Accompanying these realities was the fact that the FBI had an office inside Google to help target conservatives, and GOOGLE also received help for the same pupose from the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). At the time he quit, Mr. Voorhies said, there was no doubt that Google's chief job was to operate as a front company for the Globalists, and to use censorship to reward the "good" -- the Globalists -- and punish the "Bad", that is, the anti-globalists. He also said that hatred for Trump was a guiding influence in almost all Google employees and all they did. Mr. Voorhies said that he expected that after the Big Tech elite's vacation period in June and July, online censorship would pick up steam in late August and would reach previously unseen dimensions in September and October as the midterm elections approach. Mr. Voorhies also is a successful entrepreneur, having started a site called BLAST.VIDEO. The site scans news videos from all platforms, aggregates them, and makes them available, without editing. Censorship seems to be coming from both sides of the isle, Commenting on Dr. TenPenny being kicked off Truth Social for spreading her Vaccine truth, he blasted the social media platform saying: “Truth social doesn't like her truth, nor does it like it being social”. Surprisingly, Zach believes from his experiences and perspective that the 2016 election was indeed hacked, but it wasn't the Russians that did it. Which really points that this would have been going along the Q conspiracy in a sense, that domestic operatives tipped the scales for Trump. As a Google whistleblower, Zach warns us that “Censorship looks like it's a new thing that's coming; it's endemic” and adds to it that “AI is getting really scary right now” as these tech giants ramp up their social manipulation through advanced digital social structures. We want to make the correction, that though Zach believes Gab doesn't have any censorship with regards to malicious content such as child pornography and threats of violence, Gab does have censorship mechanisms in place that ban, delete, and censor all pornographic material as well as anything deemed illegal such as doxing… etc. Zach also believes that Christian Nationalism is something of a threat because it deters users and the leftists from coming to the discussion table, we believe that the left has long ago abandoned any form of logic or compromise. And there is no reasoning with them. Robotics is an advanced technology that will change the way we live our lives. Many of the robots we’ve seen so far have been very impressive...and also impractical. We founded inVia Robotics with a simple mission to automate repetitive tasks so people can focus on doing more meaningful work. For us that means automating warehouse order fulfillment tasks like inventory picking and replenishment, with a system that combines the power of physical robots with AI-driven software. In order to give our customers high-value solutions, we’ve had to become experts in not only the integration of robotic hardware and software, but also in the daily operations of warehouses and distribution centers. We are solving problems that haven’t been solved before, and that creates a lot of big challenges and even bigger rewards. Bio: Rand Voorhies, CTO & Co-founder, inVia Robotics Rand is a technology and robotics expert focussed on leading driving the inVia engineering team that builds behind the integrated software driving the robotics system solution. This includes product development, customer technology/software support, and management of technology investment strategy management. Prior to inVia, Rand worked within NASA’s jet propulsion laboratory during his Ph.D. i program. Ran completed his bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. in computer science and robotics at the University of Southern California. Rand enthusiastically joined Dan and Lior in co-founding inVia Robotics to apply intelligent automation robots to the e-commerce industry. In his free time, Rand enjoys Olympic weightlifting and restoring his 1971 Datsun 240Z. twitter: @inviarobotics LinkedIn: inVia Robotics

Eighty five percent of the world’s population has access to mobile networks, with emerging economies representing the fastest growing markets. China and India alone account for 30 percent of the global subscribers, and there were more mobile connections than people on Earth at the end of 2012. The rapid spread of wireless technology across the planet has the potential to foster economic development in myriad ways, opening students to new avenues of learning, giving entrepreneurs unprecedented access to capital and market data and helping grassroots organizations more effectively agitate for change and transparency. Carriers, developers, electronics makers and equipment manufacturers are harnessing this expansion and adapting their services to reach billions of users, many of them new. Yet barriers remain - be they government restrictions on the wireless Web, a dearth of locally relevant mobile applications or a pervasive mobile gender gap that limits women’s access to mobile technology in some regions. Speakers: Nelson Mattos, Head of Emerging Markets, Google Katie Jacobs Stanton, Head of International Strategy, Twitter Rodger Voorhies, Director of Financial Services for the Poor Initiative, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Moderator: Tom Giles, U.S. Technology Editor, Bloomberg News Introduction by: Former Ambassador Terry Kramer, U.S. Head of Delegation for the World Conference on International Telecommunications 2012; Trustee of the World Affairs Council of Northern California

This week: Duncan, Brian, and Abigail Satinsky in conversation with James Voorhies at the Open Engagement conference, which took place from May 13 to 15, 2011 at Portland State University. Open Engagement is an initiative of PSU’s Art and Social Practice MFA program that encourages discussion on various perspectives in social practice. In this conversation, Voorhies, who was a featured presenter at this year’s conference, talks about the origin, evolution, and activities of the Bureau for Open Culture, which he founded.   The Bureau for Open Culture is a curatorial and pedagogic institution for the contemporary arts. It works intentionally to re-imagine the art exhibition as a discursive form of education that creates a kind of new public sphere or new institution. Exhibitions take shape as installations, screenings, informal talks, and performances; they occur in parking lots, storefronts, libraries, industrial sites, country roads, gardens, and galleries. In doing so, the Bureau generates platforms for learning and knowledge production that make ideas accessible, relevant, and inviting for diverse audiences. This model encourages overlaps of art, science, ecology, the built environment, philosophy, and design. Form, content and site are underlining points of critical inquiry for Bureau for Open Culture.   This  interview is part of the ongoing collaboration between Bad at Sports and Art Practical. You can read an abridged transcript of the conversation here: http://www.artpractical.com/feature/interview_with_james_voorhies/
