The What Your Therapist Is Reading ® podcast is an incredible resource for therapists, listeners, and book lovers alike. As a therapist listener, I have found this podcast to be extremely helpful in organizing the books I want to read next. The variety of books featured on the show cover a range of topics related to mental health and self-help, which is exactly what I look for in my reading choices. Additionally, hearing about the stories of inspiration behind the authors has been truly inspiring and enriching.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is getting insights into the books that therapists are reading and why they find them valuable. As someone who has a keen interest in personal development, it is fascinating to hear from different specialists each week and learn about their recommended books. The interviews conducted on the show are also engaging and provide a deeper understanding of the authors' perspectives.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its unique concept. It offers a fresh twist on mental healthcare podcasts by focusing specifically on books written by mental health providers. This approach provides listeners with a wealth of knowledge on how to live a better life through literature. It's refreshing to have access to a curated selection of books from professionals in the field who understand the importance of mental health and personal growth.

While there aren't any glaring negatives about this podcast, one potential improvement could be adding more diversity in terms of book genres or expanding beyond mental health-related topics. While books on mental health and self-help are undoubtedly valuable, including other genres could attract a wider range of listeners and offer more diverse perspectives for personal growth.

In conclusion, The What Your Therapist Is Reading ® podcast is an excellent resource for therapists, book enthusiasts, and anyone interested in personal development. More about the author: After more than 30 years in the mental health field as a student, counselor, psychologist, educator and consultant I have come to the point in the journey that I realize we are all searching; searching for answers, comfort and a sense of belonging. My written work, The Normalcy Fallacy, is the culmination of observed (fictionalized to preserve confidentiality) stories, collected resources from other professionals and challenge questions that I designed to lead us away from pathologizing our human experience and embracing the ideal world where "normal" is simply that which is healthy, safe and loving. As I ultimately move away from the clinical work of diagnosis and treatment, I look to embrace the paradigm shift of seeing us all as in need of acceptance, love and healing however and wherever that finds us. My educational and clinical background includes undergraduate work in psychology and education, graduate work in counseling and a doctorate in clinical psychology. I have multiple clinical licenses in two states, however, continue to see the value in moving beyond the confines of pathology and diagnosis to the deeper work of self-awareness, self-healing and deep respect for intuition and self-actualization.
