What does it take to trust yourself again when the world has been loud, the grief has been real, and you spent years pouring everything into someone else's survival? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen sits down with Shannon Allman, journalist, late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD adult, and widow of the legendary Gregg Allman, for one of the most tender and honest conversations this show has ever had. Shannon opens up about her decade of quiet healing, the routines that keep her nervous system anchored, and what it cost her to pour herself entirely into caregiving while she quietly disappeared. She also shares what it was like to watch Gregg Allman the persona step forward and Gregory the man step back. She spent her formative adult years caregiving for her beloved late husband with cancer, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, while touring the world with his band and working in digital media. When she was widowed at 28, she didn't understand why she experienced a total mental and physical shutdown until being diagnosed years later with autism, ADHD, Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, C-PTSD, and other comorbid conditions exacerbated by caregiver burnout and grief. She's spent the last 9 years devoting her life to researching the connections between grief, trauma, abuse, illness, neurodivergencies, giftedness, and high sensitivity and to learning the skills and practices needed for healing and thriving. She finds purpose in helping others navigate grief, illness, trauma, and late diagnoses via her social media which sees up to 4 million monthly viewers. She's a lover of God, deep conversations, meditation, her cat Tupelo, and underdogs. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shenanigansallman/ How to Connect with Dianne A. Allen Dianne A. In this episode, we explore why neurodivergent and gifted individuals often become the default person—the one everyone relies on—and the invisible energy tax that comes with constantly carrying that role. We dive into the importance of making time to recharge, breaking the cycle of always being the go-to person, and why learning to receive support is just as important as offering it. What does it cost to stay true to your music? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen sits down with singer-songwriter and guitarist Adam Reifsnyder as he shares what it felt like to watch that happen from the outside, how he wrote through divorce, pregnancy loss, and a cancer diagnosis in the same year, and why he still gets up at 5:30 in the morning to make music because he simply cannot stop. Adam's story is not about fame. It is about the kind of soul-level commitment to a creative life that does not bend to timelines, industry rules, or anyone else's definition of success. Adam Reifsnyder is a Cleveland, Ohio–based indie folk-pop singer-songwriter creating intimate, cinematic songs rooted in storytelling, catchy melody, and emotional detail. A longtime fixture in the Cleveland indie music scene, Adam is a co-founder of Honeybucket, a Newgrass trio that became a staple of the local circuit. He was also a founding member of WALK THE MOON and co-writer of their breakout hit “Anna Sun.” Beyond that, Adam has recorded and performed under the synth-pop/rock moniker Astronymer, whose song “Miles to Go” (with Jul Big Green) was featured as the opening theme for the 44th Cleveland International Film Festival. Adam is also one-half of the indie folk duo The Fairdowells, alongside his musical and life partner Lauren Morgan. Their debut EP, Origins, was released in 2020 shortly after the birth of their twins, and explores some of the ups and downs of an incredibly challenging year in their lives. As a solo artist, Adam leans into indie folk-pop songwriting with a cinematic edge, blending acoustic textures, folk and pop production, and emotionally direct lyrics. His 2025 release Better Late Than Never (Deluxe) spans everything from acoustic folk-pop anthems like “Heading Back” to haunting indie rock and the John Mayer–influenced “Sunday Morning.” Most recently, Adam collaborated with folk songwriter Gretchen Pleuss on a series of intimate indie folk duets, including "Carry Me," their folk reimagining of Prince's "When Doves Cry," and the haunting anthem "Here In My Room." Their full EP, The Rest of You, was released in May 2026. Busy can start to feel like a personality, especially when you're doing meaningful work and getting rewarded for it. Sean Fargo sits down with Buddhist meditation teacher and author Lodro Rinzler to unpack what happened when external success still left him exhausted, stretched thin, and craving something he couldn't schedule: space. We talk about the real-life shift from New York City to the Hudson Valley, and why changing your environment can be a powerful mindfulness practice all by itself. Lodro shares how he and his wife clarified a single intention for his work, what it looks like to protect relationships while still serving others, and why doubling down on daily meditation and longer retreats can be the most practical form of self-care. If you've been searching for mindfulness for burnout, a sustainable meditation routine, or a way to stop feeling “always on,” you'll hear a grounded path forward. Then we move into heart practices drawn from Tibetan Buddhism that are widely shared across traditions: the four immeasurables of loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity. Lodro explains how loving-kindness for yourself includes the parts you like, the parts you regret, and the parts you'd rather ignore, and he offers an unexpectedly simple “loving-kindness photo” exercise for working with people you find difficult. We also point you to free guided meditations on Lodro's website so you can practice immediately. If this conversation helps, subscribe, share it with a friend who's running on empty, and leave a review with the heart practice you want to try first.BECOME A CERTIFIED MINDFULNESS MEDITATION TEACHER Teach mindfulness with confidence and skill — without self-doubt, fear of judgment, or imposter syndrome. Episode SummaryOto sits down with longtime friend DJ Mike Winner — co-founder of the decentralized network Qortal — for a deep dive into consciousness, sovereignty, and building outside the centralized internet. Mike traces his path from an early astral projection experience at 12, through a "germ theory" awakening from Dr. Bear Lando, to co-founding Qortal as a fully open-source, node-to-node alternative to the World Wide Web. He and Oto unpack the philosophy behind "sovereignty taxes," the difference between legal and possession-based ownership, and why cognitive sovereignty matters as AI use grows. Mike then walks through how Qortal actually works — minting, QDN, the CORT coin, the app ecosystem (QTube, Qmail, QShare, and more) — before showing how he used AI agents (including his own trained assistant, Merlin) to build Terrain TV, a free, AI-curated health-freedom video platform with 46,000+ videos.Chapters / Timestamps (Shifted +59s to account for the new intro at the top of the episode)00:00 – Trailer 00:59 – Intro & Catching Up with DJ Mike Winner 02:59 – The Red Pill Moment: Astral Projection & "The Creature from Jekyll Island" 05:59 – Germ Theory, Chronic Illness & the Allopathic Debt System 07:59 – From Hollywood to Alpha Vedic: Finding His Path 09:59 – The Art of Inquiry: Trusting Truth Within & Daily Meditation 11:59 – Dependency, the Sovereignty Tax & the Entrepreneur's Dilemma 13:59 – AI as an Ancient Technology & the Convergence Point 14:59 – Techno Bros, Ownership vs. the Rental Economy 17:59 – The Myth of Prometheus & Natural Law 19:59 – Crossing the Bridge: Technology as "Techne" 23:59 – Why Big Tech Isn't Censoring Like It Used To 25:59 – The Sovereign Stack: Decoupling Step by Step 28:59 – The Danger of "Purity Spiraling" & What Is a Luddite? 32:59 – Moving Into a Creator-Based Economy 33:59 – Legal Ownership vs. Possession-Based Ownership & Cognitive Sovereignty 36:59 – What Is Qortal? What if the food you keep reaching for has nothing to do with hunger and everything to do with a part of you that stopped trusting itself a long time ago? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen closes out her trilogy on food noise with an honest, heart-led look at the real root underneath it: self-trust. She shares stories from her decades of work with gifted and neurodivergent professionals, traces how that distrust gets built in childhood, why food quietly becomes our second line of defense after holding our breath, and explains what it takes to come back home to ourselves. She invites us to remember that nobody outside of us knows us better than we know ourselves, and that whatever we've been doing with food is simply a messenger pointing us back to a deeper truth. We are all worthy of standing fully in our own sovereignty, and the path back to ourselves starts with learning to listen again. Tammuz and Av are, according to the Zohar, days of judgment. The Creator of the world "provides a cure before the plague" and sends us the secrets of the sweetening of the judgments. How do you turn judgment into mercy, failure into success, death into life, destruction into growth? This is the secret of human correction and this is the secret of true healing. The secrets of medicine and its symbolism in Parashat Balak. The judgment determines our decisions because it controls our mind and thoughts. Only when we soften the judgment will we be saved from the humiliation of bad decisions. God always provides a cure before the plague arrives. In Parashat Ḥukat, there are instruments of healing and the sweetening of Judgments, such as the Red Heifer and the Copper Serpent, because Tammuz is the month of Judgments. How can the letter ח of the sign of Cancer be a symbol of the Gate - "The Gate for Sin" (Gen. 4:7) or a symbol of the sweetening of Judgments? What is a curse? - The result of disregarding the laws of the universe - "This is the law of the Torah." In order to succeed, one must give up trying to prove who is right and who is wrong, because no one sees the truth in its entirety. An internal war between the virtue of Aaron and the virtue of Korah takes place in each of us, and our humanity is expressed in our ability to have the Hesed (Grace) of Aaron control over the Gevurah (Judgement) of Koraḥ and connect with the Creator, outside the box, where wisdom, blessings, and good fortune await us. What does it actually look like to stop living for a paycheck and start living for yourself? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen shares the mic with Frank McKenna, a man who spent 24 years at a job he hated, followed a quiet pull toward something completely unexpected, and built a life that most people only dream about. Frank shares how curiosity and persistence led him from New York to California to the Mississippi Delta, and why following your own path often looks nothing like what the world expects of you. Frank talks openly about what it took to leave a life that looked successful on the outside but felt empty on the inside, how he built meaningful community in a place he wasn't even from, and why his definition of success has nothing to do with a salary anymore. After retiring from a career with UPS, Frank continued doing what he loves—connecting people and creating memorable experiences. He is involved with the iconic Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art, a beloved blues-centric record and folk art store, is a minority owner of the legendary Shack Up Inn, and manages Downtown Wine & Liquor. Abra Kadabra is real! How can we protect ourselves in times of uncertainty and instability? How can we attract abundance into our lives from the source of blessings? What are the unwritten rules of the workplace, and why does no one warn gifted people about them? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen draws from her own lived experience and the questions she hears most often from her clients to uncover five workplace realities that gifted, neurodivergent, and twice-exceptional adults are almost never told about in advance. From the way clarifying questions land, to reading the room at a level that leaves others behind, to the invisible lines around "just be yourself," Dianne names what so many gifted professionals have felt but never had language for. She reminds us that our wiring is not the problem. The way we process, question, observe, and care is an asset, and understanding the environments we're operating in is what makes all the difference. Inner Peace, and control over reality are possible within the revolution in which the old world order is collapsing and the new order is still not in sight. How can we protect ourselves in times of uncertainty and instability? How can we attract abundance into our lives from the source of blessings? What if the answers you've been searching for are buried inside your own story? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen sits down with Carrie KC West to explore the practice of becoming your own archaeologist — digging into your past, your patterns, and your inherited belief systems to uncover who you truly are. Carrie shares her extraordinary origin story: a traumatic childhood, the devastating loss of her father, rock bottom, and the unexpected epiphany in film school that taught her she could rewrite her own life like a script. Together, Dianne and Carrie unpack why empaths struggle to separate their emotions from others', how pre-verbal beliefs get locked in before age two, and why crises and challenges are actually the universe asking for your attention. They also explore the power of awareness, the freedom that comes from mapping your family's story, and what it means to stop living someone else's narrative. If you've ever wondered why certain patterns keep showing up in your life — in relationships, money, belonging, or self-worth — this conversation will give you the tools to finally go looking. Carrie KC West is a transformational coach, bestselling author, and story excavation expert who helps people rewrite the narratives that are keeping them stuck. Drawing on her background in film school storytelling, corporate change management, and decades of personal excavation work, Carrie developed the Life Rewritten method — a powerful framework for uncovering the pre-verbal belief systems, family patterns, and inherited stories that quietly run your life. She is the author of Life Rewritten, a candid and courageous memoir that proves ordinary people can create extraordinary change. Carrie's work is especially resonant for neurodivergent, empathic, and visionary people who have long known something was off — but couldn't yet name what. There is no freedom without revelation and prophecy. Enslavement is not only political, economic, legal or military, it is first and foremost an enslavement of the mind. Independence and freedom exist only after sacrifice for the sake of others, the land, the Torah – values that are higher than life. Peace without spiritual elevation is not realistic, and therefore redemption must take place in the spiritual, supernatural dimension.
