When Felix was in Hong Kong for Dubai Watch Week's HF.10 he caught up with one OT:'s OG guests, Carson Chan. Carson is a legend in the watch community, a passionate collector and advocate who educates watch lovers around the world through the Watch Professor Academy. Felix chatted to Carson about some significant Asian watchmakers you may not have heard of and where the region is at. Before that, Andy and Felix reflect on the Patek Philippe Cubitus — what it's like on the wrist and if it deserves the hype. This week's episode is Sponsored by Kennedy, official Grand Seiko retailer, and Felix and Andy chat about the incredible technology that is Spring Drive. Today, we sit down with Mike France, co-founder and CEO of Christopher Ward, the UK-based direct-to-consumer brand that has (you may be shocked to learn) been around since 2004. We chat to Mike about the early days of the brand and how they evolved from a design-led microbrand into the fully-fledged brand they are today, with in-house watchmaking expertise that rivals that of the Swiss. Of course, it doesn't take long for the conversation to veer to their incredible breakout hit, the Bel Canto. Mike tells us how the innovative chiming watch was an unexpected byproduct of COVID-induced working conditions and how the smash-hit watch has changed their business. We also talk about the brand new release, the Bel Canto Classic. But before that, Felix debriefs on his jaunt to Hong Kong for Dubai Watch Week's Horology Forum 10. Hear about how, in that short time, Scottish Watches have collaborated with multiple brands including Swatch and H. Moser & Cie and become the juggernaut they are now, and what exactly is the real story behind the H.Moser x Scottish Watches collaboration Streamliner (or Memeliner as Rikki calls it). Was it really an April Fool's joke? Find out here. It ended in 2019, but the boys find out about the the old Basel World and the difference between that, and today's premier watch show event, Watches & Wonders. In our last and final installment of the Lume Plotters Interviews series (from the 2023 Dubai Watch Week at least…), a sad and lonely, singular Lume Plotter (Ralf, albeit along with our honorary Lumeplotter apprentice Rajeev) interviews another watch industry mogul, Mike Manjos, the Chief Sales Officer of WatchBox and Chief Revenue Officer at Govberg Jewelers. Unfortunately, Marton was stuck at work; but fortunately, Mike was able to deliver a stellar interview with Ralf at the helm. As both a pre-owned specialist at WatchBox, and representing a slew of brands as an authorized dealer through Govberg Jewelers, Mike truly has an all-encompassing view of the industry! In the last episode of 2023, Andy and Felix — full of festive cheer — look back on the highs and lows of 2023. From the biggest surprise of the year to the trend they wish would go away and the watch they'd actually spend their own hard-earned cash on, Felix and Andy mostly agree on the year that was, and in the end, they rated 2023 a solid 6.5ish out of 10. This week's interview hits very close to home for both of the Lume Plotters, as we are proud Oris parents to two lovely little limited-edition watches! As such, it was a must on our visit to Dubai Watch Week to sit down with Oris co-CEO Rolf Studer to ask him about his insipration for turning Oris into such a friendly and happy brand. Maybe one day, we will even have a Lume Plotters x Oris collaboration! Felix caught up with the effervescent Davide Cerrato at Dubai Watch Week, who's starting to feel comfortable in the top job at Bremont after six months. Felix and Davide chat about what he's been up to, but most importantly, what he's got planned for the next evolution of Bremont. Unfortunately, it sounds like we'll have to wait until Watches & Wonders 2024 to see just what he's been cooking up, but if the idea of a Bremont Field Watch tickles your fancy, stay tuned. Before the Bremont shenanigans, Andy and Felix chat about Universal Geneve, and gift each other some hypothetical Zodiac stocking stuffers. It's festive and fantastic! Jean-Claude Biver is one of the most important individuals in modern watchmaking, a man with a legendary CV and a long legacy. These days, though, it's his own name on the dial, and when Felix had a surprise interview at Dubai Watch Week, it was finding out how Biver senior has transitioned from running mega watch groups to working with a small family business. Of course, when you get the chance to chat with someone who's done it all, you ask the big questions about the future of the watch industry and whether or not it's selfish to put your own name on the dial. But before all this, we get the second instalment of our chat with Zodiac's Mike Pearson and find out why the brand is focussing on its core. This episode is sponsored by Zodiac. The 2023 Formula 1 season drew to a close this weekend with the final race once again taking place in Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The drivers and constructors championships were long since decided, but many of the remaining positions for both teams and drivers came down to the final laps, delivering the last bits of drama of the season in some unexpected ways. Our own Blake Buettner was at the race, coming out of Dubai Watch Week the week prior, so this is a special episode recounting the experience, the race, and the season as a whole. The race in Abu Dhabi capped the most dominant season of the sport ever witnessed, with Max Verstappen claiming his 19th victory of the 22 race season, and his 3rd consecutive driver's championship in the process. Red Bull as a team won all but a single race this season, and did so with what appeared to be relative ease. As decisive as the season was, there was still plenty of racing to enjoy behind the Red Bulls, and plenty to look forward to in 2024.

For our last episode of 2021, we catch up with a certified viral sensation and verified nice guy, Miles Fisher. We speak to Miles about how he's been spending 2021, including trips to Dubai with Audemars Piguet with a side serving of Dubai Watch Week, and his rigorous collecting philosophy. But even if you don't follow Miles for his snappy watch collection or coffee-related content, you've seen his work. Now that Watches & Wonders is firmly in our rearview mirrors and the dust has settled, we thought it was high time to do some soul-searching and come up with our favourite releases from the virtual fair. Felix, in typical fashion, went a little weird and focused on some less-hyped releases and, in a spectacular cop-out move, picked every single colourful watch from the fair. Andy, however, played it relatively straight with four rock-solid choices, including a controversial Rolex, some colourful options and a knock-out Perpetual Calendar from none other than A. Lange & Söhne. This episode is brought to you by WatchBox, the world's leading platform for buying, selling and trading pre-owned luxury timepieces.
