Is it possible that we might be missing the point of being human if we do not allow ourselves to feel deeply? Why do we stop ourselves or judge ourselves when we feel things deep within our being? I wonder if the message that we shouldn't live in our feelings long enough to cause suffering somehow turned into not feeling at all, being stoic at all times, being even keel at all times. Some of the most wonderful humans I know, feel big ! Why is that? I unpack all of this and how I realized that it was never about not feeling deeply, I just needed to reframe what it meant to feel deeply. Special Guest: Catherine In this episode, I, Haider, have the pleasure of hosting Catherine, a mystic deeply connected to the spiritual realm. Catherine shares her profound experiences and insights, offering glimpses into her mystical journey. As a mystic, Catherine explains that she taps into her clairvoyant, clairaudient, and clairsentient abilities to perceive different levels of reality beyond the physical realm. She believes that everyone possesses these mystical gifts, attainable through presence, stillness, and inner guidance. Throughout our conversation, Catherine delves into her time as a chaplain at a trauma hospital, where she encountered intense moments and received intuitive signals guiding her actions. She recounts instances where she sensed impending emergencies, such as hearing the sound of an emergency helicopter before being paged to attend to a patient. These experiences underscore her attunement to the unseen and her ability to navigate subtle energies. We explore the significance of embracing life's challenges with openness and surrender, drawing inspiration from Catherine's mother-in-law's graceful acceptance of her cancer diagnosis. Catherine emphasizes the importance of flowing with life's currents, embodying acceptance, and trusting in the divine plan. In her book, "Everyday Awakening: Five Practices for Living Fully, Feeling Deeply," Catherine offers practical exercises and insights to help readers cultivate presence, connect with the divine, and embody love. Through these practices, she encourages individuals to awaken to the richness of life and embrace their innate mystical abilities. Our conversation also delves into the transformative power of prayer, highlighting its simplicity and universality as a means of fostering connection with the divine. We discuss the importance of transcending religious dogma and exploring one's personal relationship with spirituality. Ultimately, our dialogue centers on the pursuit of joy, love, and inner peace, inviting listeners to embark on their own journey of spiritual exploration and self-discovery. Catherine's wisdom and insights serve as a guiding light, inspiring others to embrace the fullness of life and awaken to their true essence.

The Five Elements are the soul of Eastern medicine and express the fundamental unfolding of everything in the universe. These old, primordial powers shape our body's health and internal ecosystem, and act as a doorway through which we can come to remember that we are an embodiment of nature's cycles. In celebration of being on the cusp of the Fall Equinox, we will rejoice in the Earth Element, which is an expression of the paradox of late summer rising and abundance, mixed with the beginnings of decline and falling back to the ground. How are we feeling this transformation in our animal bodies at this time?We will also explore the spirit question of the Earth Element: How do I give and receive nourishment? Nourishment not just in my relationships with other humans but also from the whole of the living world. This Teleseminar will combine Elemental Medicine, Seasonal Alchemy, and Earth-honoring principles, exploring how the Earth Element wants to speak through you.About KendraKendra Ward, LAc. Many of us try to moderate and manage our emotions. Feeling deeply is often considered a weakness in our culture. This is a mistake. When we make friends with our feelings, we have access to insights, intuition and information unavailable to our rational mind alone. Opening to our feelings strengthens our character and offers important ways to process our life experience. --- Rate, Review & Subscribe on Apple Podcasts. How are your boundaries? Are they like a secure wall that protects you and your needs or are they a crumbling, run-down fence that can be walked right over?As a sensitive soul, there’s a pretty good chance that you’ve got some boundaries that look a little more like that second fence…And they might not only be run-down (or non-existent), they might also feel a little out of reach. But you know what? That’s okay. Boundaries can be a challenge. Society teaches us that we need to do it all and take care of everyone else first, all while being “perfect.” And that’s a lot of pressure on those of us that feel EVERYTHING. But good boundaries are absolutely possible -- as long as you’re aware of the 5 mistakes that you may be making. Join us as we discuss how to avoid these common traps so you can get the boundaries you only dreamed were possible!Support the show (https://buymeacoffee.com/empathup)

Being an empath is an amazing gift, but like anything, it also comes with some challenges. And sometimes those challenges make it so life can feel… well like it sucks. And because of that maybe you wish that you aren’t so sensitive. Maybe you think life would be so much easier to not be. It’s okay to feel like that. We’ve been there too. But good news! You can flip that idea totally on its head. In this episode, we’re discussing three reasons why being an empath might feel lousy and the three things you can do to change that. If you’ve ever been overdone from feeling everything around you, felt like you’re crazy for being so sensitive, beat yourself up for not being able to handle as much as others, or wished for an answer to your sensitivity, then this episode is just for you.P.S. Ready to learn more about yourself as an empath and how to turn your sensitivity into your superpower? Then go download “Clear the Crap 2020” and make sure you release all the junk you picked up from 2020 so that your 2021 is primed to be the year that you turn your sensitivity into your greatest strength!Support the show (https://buymeacoffee.com/empathup)
Our guest today is talented photographer and self-described deep feeler, Megan Kantor. Megan and her husband Nate run their own wedding photography business, Cedar & Pines, and we are major fans of their work. While Megan is typically on the road traveling for weddings, due to the pandemic she’s been settling into a slower pace, putting down roots, and finding new rhythms at their new home in Joshua Tree. Throughout this conversation we explore discovering contentment, what it means to trust yourself, and mindfully limiting external stimulation so you can begin to create work that feels different and unique to you. In a lot of ways, this conversation is about existing in that liminal space before you know what you’re going to create next. It’s an exploration of how to stay in tune with yourself as you create a life that feels interesting to you. We loved this window into Megan’s life that feels especially resonant and timely as we’re all navigating this uncharted moment in time together.
You know when there’s a lot going on in your life and you just feel TOO much? And because you feel oh-so-very much, you start to become numb -- like a computer that’s got wayyy too much to process so it freezes up or even shuts down. That’s one type of being numb. But there’s another. And the thing about this second type of being numb is that it doesn’t just happen to you. You choose it. Like, on purpose! When there’s a lot of crazy crap going on in your life and you’re completely overdone, choosing to be numb is the single best thing you can do for yourself. As someone who feels things so deeply, choosing to let yourself feel numb means that you can turn down the volume on everything that’s going on. Which puts you in control. It also takes a ton of pressure off of you so you can do what you need to get through your day. Even with everything that’s going , you can feel a whole lot calmer and more present. In this episode we're discussing both types of numbness, how it helps Claire with her job, and why it changes everything. This is a must-listen. If you’re currently feeling overdone, you need this now. And even if you’re not, you need to listen up so you’re prepared for the next time you do feel overwhelmed and overdone!Support the show (https://buymeacoffee.com/empathup)
On my last episode for 2020 I'm sharing some insights for people who are empathic and feeling deeply. I'm also highly empathic so I get all you deep feelers who give so much of yourself. But today, I'm asking you about how much you are taking on and how much you are giving to yourself? Most people don't realize this but the gift of an empath is actually being able to transform the energy, not take it into themselves. So if you're feeling tired, you might be taking on more than you think. Winter Solstice is Monday and it's a time to restore. A perfect time to go within and give to yourself. Exploring feeling deeply with lightness at heart and mind; how the inner growth journey, mindset and lifestyle get you to see and pursue your explorations of this in cosmic consciousness; how it is always a choice at your disposal, accessible by you in any and all moments; what changes this brings to your life when faced with life moments and circumstances; how mind and heart flow are a part of the process too; why your higher infinite human potential is always a major player and accessible through your ability to tap into your higher cosmic consciousness; and how the determining factor will always be you, your belief in life and yourself and whether or not you allow your heart to lead the way in flow with unconditional love and neutrality towards self and others, particularly when the unknown elements of life, the void space of tomorrow's unknown, presents itself to your conscious mind. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/maria-florio/support

Not long ago I couldn't sleep. So I wrote. And wrote. And the words just tumbled onto the page. Those of you that journal know what I'm talking about. It feels a bit surreal, those times when words just flow out and almost feel like they're coming from someplace else that's much deeper than yourself. I picked up a pen and started writing what I felt about the world right now. We decided to share this unedited journal entry with you, my pages that usually stay private and unsaid. Which is why this episode's a bit different than other ones.If you are an empath, please use this as your reminder, your call-to-arms, your rally cry that it’s crucial for you to share your gift of empathy with the world. Many of us, myself 100% included, have been hiding in one way or another. We get it, it's not bad or wrong. It’s simply one way we cope in a world with so little empathy and so little understanding of what it feels like to feel oh-so-very-very much. But we can step our of the shadows and speak our truth, safely and powerfully. When we tap into the power of our sensitivity, we're a force to be reckoned with.Support the show (https://buymeacoffee.com/empathup)
Empaths. Maybe you know one, maybe you are one, or maybe you're not sure one way or the other. What exactly does it mean to be an empath? And what the heck does it feel like to be one?Although it can feel different for each individual empath, to us being an empath is all about how you view the world. How you take in information and how you make sense of it all. Everybody sees and learns in different ways. Some people are more auditory, visual, or kinesthetic. Empaths view the world through emotions or their senses. As an empath, emotions can sometimes feel totally overwhelming. It's easy for us to unconsciously pick up other people’s feelings and take them on as our own, making it difficult to figure out what are our feelings and what are theirs. It can be downright hard. We unconsciously pick up other people’s feelings and make them our own. Daily emotions can range from picking up a bit of a vibe to being absolutely overwhelming. The feelings we pick up from other people (even just a video clip or a few words in the news) can cause us intense physical pain that actually leaves us feeling numb. Watching the news can make our entire body hurt while we hear screams echoing in our head. Heck, it doesn’t even need to be a real person for us to pick up feelings. Movie spoilers have become our best friend and the only way we can watch intense movies. In this podcast episode, we dive into what being an empath means to us, steps we need to take daily to stay sane while feeling emotions so deeply, and so much more. So whether you are an empath, think you might be, know someone who is, or just don’t know much about empaths, this is the episode for you!

Every great relationship (including a romance, friendship, or business partnership) has to have a solid foundation to build on. In this series we talk about what that foundation is made up of, and why our relationships have not been working without it. Part Three: Feeling Better or Feeling Deeply When we see people we love feeling painful emotions, our first tendency is to try to make them feel better. But trying to make people feel better has some serious unintended consequences. Today we learn about those consequences, and why it's more important to help people feel deeply.
