We'll look in a very practical way at three aspects of wise speech: (1) developing presence in the midst of communication; (2) working with the four guidelines for skillful speech developed by the Buddha; and (3) becoming more mindful of and skillful with thoughts and emotions occurring during communication. For each of the foundations, a number of ways of practicing are offered. The talk is followed by discussion.

Rev. Dr. Patricia Keel sees herself as the elder sister, a wise grandmother, guide, and friend on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Before discovering her true path and purpose, she was a successful real estate broker, a fundraiser for non-profits, and a single mompreneur. Emerging from trying to do it all, feeling empty and a little lost, Dr. Patricia had a breakthrough after her second divorce: she found her spiritual heart and her greatest gifts. This new inner calling gave her the inspiration and energy to start a spiritual center in Berkeley in 2000 and get her Doctorate in Ministry at age 56. Since 2006, she has traveled to India 20 times and helped thousands of spiritual seekers awaken to higher consciousness and live extraordinary lives. Whether speaking, teaching, or coaching, her passion is to integrate ancient mystical wisdom with current brain science and offer practical tools for living an enlightened life. Dr. Patricia believes all people deserve to experience joy and happiness and feel fulfilled as they give their unique gifts to the world. www.patriciakeel.com
Join us as we explore a fresh perspective on being a digital nomad! This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, it's just you and Sam as he shares with you his summertime travels and what he has learned along the way. Doing something we have never done before is a great way to expand our awareness and our understanding of ourselves. We often don't like to put ourselves in unknown situations, yet when we do, they can be so rewarding. On this week's show, Sam will share with you what he has learned and experienced from temporarily living and working in three areas of the west coast. From San Diego to San Francisco to Vancouver, all three places have been magical, beautiful, and full of surprises. Tune in and share your own experiences of traveling, moving, or doing something brand new and the opportunities that came with those experiences, as he shares his insights and challenges. Tune in for this transformational discussion at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Livestream by clicking here.Show NotesSegment 1Sam reads a section from his book Everyday Awakening entitled To Be Kind To Others Is To Give Ourselves A Great Gift. Sam says how we show up in the world is more personal than we would think. He adds that It is best to come from a place of love and peace rather than a place of blaming and victimization because it makes us and the people around us feel better. Sam shares his inspiration for the piece and the reasons why he decided to write it. He says coming from a place of anger only affects the person who is in distress. Anger is not healthy for our bodies and can lead to disease. When we focus on bringing ourselves to a better place, it helps not only ourselves but the people in our life.Segment 2Sam shares some personal events that happened over the summer while he was away on the west coast. He talks about the shift to working remotely and why he decided to end his lease for his office. Sam recounts his time in California in the past and how he's missed the location. He decides to take up the offer and begin his nomadic experience on the west coast.Segment 3Sam traveled to San Diego for five weeks and then left for Berkeley. He talks about his experience and how he got another offer to dog sit for a month. Sam went on to discuss his time in Berkeley and the different opportunities that presented themselves. He planned this summer trip with his wife for a different experience to change up his NY routine. Sam continues to discuss his three-month trip and how he needed a change of pace. He was able to experience places outside of NY and learned new things about himself through the experience.Segment 4During his stay, Sam spent three months on the west coast and ended his trip in Vancouver, taking notice of the homeless and drug problem. He talks about meeting up with friends and spending time at social gatherings. While traveling by ferry, Sam and his wife were able to enjoy the scenic view. It really made Sam appreciate nature. As Sam's trip comes to an end, he prepares for his flight back home. Sam says he's really learned a lot about himself in these three months. He adds that when you open yourself up to new experiences, you discover new things about yourself. Sam finds the silver lining in the past two years stating he was able to experience the west coast and see old friends.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

By listening in, you will have a deeper understanding of what Archetypes are, and how we can use them in our day-to-day life to be more effective, happier, and create more abundance! This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes author, speaker and success coach, Pad.Pad is the creator of TEAM ME: a simple model of human psychology that rapidly identifies the drivers behind our decisions and behaviors, pinpoints precise challenges to be overcome, and maps a course for extraordinary transformation. He coaches business leaders and executive teams across the globe, has been featured on BBC World Service, ITV, Radio 5, and Premier Radio - and quoted in the Guardian, Telegraph and Independent.Based in London, UK, he is currently conducting remote team analysis and training for executive teams seeking to elevate performance, optimise team function, and resolve internal tensions.Sam and Pad will be discussing all about how we can use Archetypes to improve our daily lives.Tune in for this enlightening conversation at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by Clicking Here.Show NotesSegment 1The topic for today's episode is one of Sam's favorites. But first he reads a section from his book Everyday Awakening. The section he reads is called “All Our Preparation is for the Moment We Haven't Prepared For.” This was a section that Sam wrote after having a conversation with his mentor about preparing for ceremonies and other kinds of events. He reflected on his experiences and how we prepare for all kinds of stuff, yet not everything always goes as planned. Somehow though, we find a way to move forward and work through the unexpected. Sam says that it's really being prepared for when that unexpected thing happens and knowing which way to turn or what to do in the moment. But of course you can't prepare for every single moment, so you do the best you can. The preparation part is so that you can have enough confidence to be able to do whatever you need to. Sam also introduces Pad, the creator of TEAM ME, a unique approach to personal development and performance improvement based on Archetypes. Coming to us from the UK, Pad talks about archetypes and his journey to where he is now. Pad was always a drawer since his time in school as a kid. He was always fascinated by sci-fi concepts and even the world of music. Pad also says that there are things that explain our different perspectives and values which made him want to dive into the world of archetypes.Segment 2Pad talks about what brought him into the world of archetypes. He did a number of training and coach certificates. Pad is a certified trainer of NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming). He found that it was like having a toolbox where whenever he had to deal with a conflict or help someone, he can use the knowledge and skills he gained in the process. After a couple of years, he felt there was something missing to the whole business of helping people move forward in their lives. He uses an example of an actual toolbox to fix cars and make sure that they're “road worthy”. The problem with the toolbox, in his case his skillset to helping people, is that the toolbox can make sure that a car (or person) is ok, but you won't really know how that car is being driven. He says that it isn't easy to make someone understand that the way they might be handling a situation with someone isn't the best; or how they are “driving with them.” He explains what an archetype is. He breaks down the word by comparing “arch” to words like archives, archeology, or the “old stuff.” Archetypes are something he explains as similar to characters that are well known, like kings and queens. You can pick characters throughout history with similar personalities and forms. These are symbols or images that we all share.Segment 3Pad speaks with Sam about how he uses archetypes to help people in challenging situations. One example was with someone he calls “Sally” who worked in a sales department for a company and missed two of her sales targets and the third time will be crucial. She needed to make sure that she met her sales goals. He says that with sales, you need to have a strong “warrior” spirit because of the competition as well as the loveable kind of archetypal characters to connect with people. Pad and Sally worked to learn what makes her tick or fired up. Pad helped her look at things from the mystic point of view which was her strong trait; mystic, meaning wanting to transform things and change. One thing that she was missing that he helped her with was having the persistent drive to make something happen the way a sales person would need. He advised her to let herself be the ruler and take more control. At an event where Sally and her colleagues learned to be better sales people, she decided to use that moment to take charge as they were split into groups. She threw all of the rules out and gave her thoughts to her team. So her “mystic” side to wanting to change and letting go of all of the rules was her strength in helping her team win the competition they had. What Pad did with Sally was help lean into her strengths and center the attention around that. But there's also a balance that Pad speaks about.Segment 4In the final segment, Pad talks with Sam about using archetypes in group or team settings. Pad says that when he is working with leaders in different departments, he uses the tool that he had mentioned earlier called teamme.app which helps you know your strengths and how this affects your decision making. He can then explain and breakdown the way these leaders and even other members in each team work together using the different archetype characters that he mentioned. With this kind of awareness, the team's dynamics is better understood and managed. From the sage to the lover, he gives more examples of the dynamics in different scenarios like in a family. He also mentions how affirming it can be to look at how you are built as an individual. Using the tool from TEAMME as an example, he says that we should celebrate all the qualities about ourselves. You can learn more about this kind of personal coaching visiting teamme.com and teamme.app.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

Join in on the conversation and share your own stories and challenges. Ask your questions and Sam will do his best to provide guidance and insight through this week's show.Tune in for this enlightening conversation at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by clicking here.Show NotesSegment 1Sam begins the show reading a section from his book, Everyday Awakening, where he talks about letting go of the thought of balance as a goal. He goes on to discuss how balance is short lived and we should strive for harmony. He tells us how when we accept all of our edges, our mascline side and femine side, then we can learn to flow and know how to respond for any given moment. Sam talks about the pain he's been feeling since the whole Ukraine ordeal. He talks about his friends who are suffering and how he responds from his heart when he communicates with them as opposed to thinking critically as if he was in an office setting. He shares how he had to stay focused these past weeks cleaning out his office in NYC to meet a deadline. Sam goes on to explain how in order to meet a deadline he had to stay mentally focused and at times work late nights to ensure the office was cleaned out by the end of the month. Sam says it's about accepting all of ourselves, every aspect and learning how to live in harmony.Segment 2Sam introduces the topic for today's episode; letting go. His goal this episode is to provide tools for his audience for the process of letting go. Sam explains that loss doesn't have to be tragic, sometimes it can be little losses throughout life that build up and overwhelm us. He goes on to explain the difference between a tragic loss and a little loss and how the two can affect you in similar ways. He shares his personal challenges letting go of Talk Radio's office space after 12 years. He tells us how he's been adjusting and how much the space meant to Talk Radio over the years. Sam talks about how we tend to push past our small losses and fail to fully feel the moment until it boils over. Sam reiterates how we tend to only deal with severe losses and maybe we should tend to care more about the small losses; allowing ourselves to unapologetically grieve the little things that matter to us.Segment 3Sam continues to discuss how we all have been dealing with small losses. He mentions how life has shifted so abruptly these past couple of years and we all in some way have felt a loss and we should accept that it may be affecting us. Sam talks about his friend who is a death doula, someone who guides a sick individual into the afterlife, and how she feels our society looks at death. She says we tend to think death is the end of everything and we wait until we lose someone to grieve. In reality we can practice with the little losses to prepare for the serve ones. Sam shares how that opened his mind to a new way of thinking. He also talked about how we look at vitality and the lack of service we do for our elderly. He says they have a lot of knowledge and a lot to contribute that we take for granted. He continues to talk about how loss can affect us in many ways and how we should try not to wait and ignore it until it's too late.Segment 4In the final segment, Sam shares some valuable tools for letting go. He tells his audience some rituals he and his wife use when they are dealing with loss. Sam says they've done countless things from writing letters and burning them to throwing crystals in the river. In some ways the rituals were symbolic and had special meaning. There was a time when Sam and his wife were on vacation at dinner and they noticed little lanterns above the ocean. Turns out the lanterns were for a baby who passed shortly after being born. The family released the lanterns as a symbol to preserve the baby's memory. Sam advises his audience to look up different rituals from various cultures as a way to gain inspiration to find something that works for you.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

Segment 1The Conscious Consultant, hosted by Sam Liebowitz, is a fantastic episode this week with guest, Dr. Rowshanak Hashemiyoon. Sam opens up this show talking about integrity, and how once we learn how to be sympathetic with ourselves, we can learn how to be sympathetic and empower others; this is all information that can be found in Sam's new book, Everyday Awakening. Dr. Hashemiyoon has a deep appreciation for spiritual rituals as well as a deep understanding for hard, real science. She begins talking about how she was born this way, and how her love for science began. Segment 2Dr. Hashemiyoon begins this segment by explaining what the “default mode network,” which is a system in the brain that is functioning when you are in a task mode state. She then begins explaining the difference between bad stress and good stress; a certain amount of stress is actually okay for the body and can be productive, but if you have too much stress then that is when it becomes negative. Stress does not have to always be viewed in a negative light, which is very enlightening for all to know; each person has a different set point where stress can be defined as bad rather than useful. A good thing to practice is mindfulness meditation so that you can become aware of your own personal levels; there is also a study that shows that mindfulness meditation can increase your tolerance to certain things such as pain. Segment 3Host, Sam Liebowitz, and Dr. Hashemiyoon begins segment 3 by talking about the great resignation; this is about how people have decided how to fit work into their lives, rather than fitting their lives into work. This is important because people were starting to want to leave their place of work. They began to transition into the talk about how there are so many remote jobs due to the pandemic, and how this is giving people the chance to engage with themselves. There is also such a drive today to be an entrepreneur, and the number of personal businesses have skyrocketed. Segment 4Sam begins segment 4 by asking Dr. Rowshanak Hashemiyoon what she does besides her day-to-day office job, and she referred to herself as a “functional, integrated scientist.” She talks about how one of her biggest skills is taking really big, complicated ideas and turning them into bite size ideas so that she can share with others. Both, Sam and Dr. Hashemiyoon, talk about how important breaks are for those who are working; if you are overworking yourself then productivity rate drops significantly which is obviously not the goal. Dr. Hasemiyoon talks about how she has many different programs where she shares this information with others as well as companies so that she can help benefit these companies and people. You can stay in touch with Dr. Rowshanak Hashemiyoon on her website, twitter, or clubhouse, and she hopefully will be back for another episode with host, Sam Liebowitz, soon on the Conscious Consultant! Segment 1Sam reads a section from his book Everyday Awakening. This section is called “The Kinder We are with Ourselves, The Easier it is to Take Responsibility.'' He talks about how many people go through fear when taking responsibility for our actions and words. Some of this fear is about being hard on ourselves and judgment. We fear making mistakes. But he says that we should be kinder to ourselves and everyone else. We are all human and humans make mistakes. Sam says that this doesn't mean that we are letting ourselves off the hook, but he points out that we are not as kind and compassionate to others because we aren't like this to ourselves. When we become more gentle with ourselves, it's easier to forgive others and communicate with others as well as ourselves for mistakes when we all try to do better and take responsibility for what we do. Sam introduces his guest, Connie Zweig, a retired therapist, and author of her new book, The Inner Work of Age: Shifting from Role to Soul, extends shadow-work into late life and teaches aging as a spiritual practice. Connie says that she was a journalist before getting her PHD in psychology. She was also in the publishing business for a decade. She was writing while also doing her private practice. Connie also studied the psychology of the unconscious rooted in Freud and Jung. She wanted to explore more about shadow work, especially since at the time there weren't a lot of books about it.Segment 2Sam asks Connie about what gave her the idea to write a book about aging and the work around it. She says that in her late 60s, when retiring from her therapy practice, she started to feel out of place and ask things like “who am I?” We know about the midlife crisis, but no one really talks about the late life crisis. She also mentions that today, everyone focuses on productivity and work. Connie says that there is an unconscious side of us that internalizes ageism and so there are people in this stage of their life who may not be able to accept their age and change in their life. Sam talks about how in the United States there's culture that idolizes youth, which affects how we think about ourselves. Connie says that all of the aspects of being human that carry the parts that are seen as negative, like aging, go into the “shadow”, and we deny them. She talks about ageism and how it's seen in communities and institutions. Sam talks about her new book and it's different sections. One of them is called “The Divine Messenger.” Connie talks about a legend where a young prince was very sheltered and didn't see any suffering because he was kept inside the palace. One day he escaped and was shocked by what he saw on the outside. He saw an eldery, ill person, and a corpse. She says this gives an awakening to realize that life is temporary in this way, shown by the physical changes that happen to everyone.Segment 3Connie and Sam continue discussing her new book. They talk about the pandemic bringing awareness. Many people experienced loss and brought awareness of the risk and vulnerability that we all have. She also brings up an interesting concern that in a couple of years, when hopefully the pandemic is managed even better, that many people will forget about this awareness and that it will go back into the “unconscious.” She says that she's met people who do not let themselves grieve. But everyone handles grieving differently. Connie and Sam also discuss how age is seen differently in cultures and communities. Connie speaks about indigenous cultures that have a different relationship to the eldery and recognizes the transition into elderhood as a transition about storytelling, memories, and values. In her book she writes that when we become aware about our immortality, we search for what we believe in and what we do such as spirituality, look for a certain community, or religion. Connie also speaks about the subtitle of her book, Shifting from Role to Soul. She discusses how for most of our lives, we focus on the roles we have; we are a brother, sister, wife, husband, cousin, therapist, etc. Through time, these roles disappear. Her book includes practices to shift from our roles to who we really are as a person, as a human being.Segment 4Coming back from the final break, Connie and Sam continue their conversation about aging. Connie says that age is our curriculum. All the challenges that we have can be worked with. We can see things like caregiving as a spiritual practice. She says that we have a lot of challenges, whether mental or physical. But we have tools that can help us reach new stages of awareness. Connie and Sam also discuss the idea that “aging sucks.” Connie says that there are very difficult topics about aging. She says that the whole truth about this stage of life is important to be aware about. Connie also talks about working with her own inner ageism and the challenges she went through, which she also discusses in her book. Connie gives some advice to those who are struggling with challenges about coming to terms with aging. She talks about meditation, and choosing a cause and community working in an area that you are passionate about. She also says to ask yourself, if you are on your deathbed now, what would you be regretting about what you never said or done. How can you change that now to be at peace in your life and towards the end? Before closing the show, Sam asks Connie about who is an elder that she has seen as a role model and looked up to. She mentions Ram Dass. She credits him as someone who she borrowed the phrase “role to soul” from. She says that she is very grateful to him for being a role model for her and her generation. You can learn more about Connie at conniezweig.com, and Dr. Connie Zweig on Facebook and Linkedin. Sam thanks Connie for joining him today and sharing more about her new book as it is very insightful!Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

He also talks about our water and the minerals we find in our drinking water and how fluoride was previously used as a rat repellent. Sam asks Dr. Orsamagich if different pyramids have different sources of energy. He tells us that pyramids from around the world are made of different materials. For example, Mexico pyramids are made from sandstone and granite and Bosnia is made of concrete and quartz crystal, therefore they will generate different results due to different materials and temperatures. Sam talks about the guilt he felt for not being able to help in time but comes to the conclusion that maybe, heartbreaking in all, the universe wanted those events to transpire to evolve and grow as an individual. Before the break, Sam informs his audience that life is beautiful as it is. Maybe the imperfections are part of the perfection.Segment 4:In the last segment of the year, Sam continues his discussion on life being perfect as it is. Happiness can't be defined by your next accomplishment, it's living in the moment that really makes us happy. Any day above ground is a good day, says Sam. Thank you everyone for your questions about plant medicine. I enjoyed your emails, texts, and even those questions that I got while coming and going from yoga class. :) To help us explore these questions together, I've brought some amazing guests together for a podcast series about healing through plant medicine. Today's guest is my dear friend Sam Liebowitz. Sam was a guest previously on my other podcast, Positive on Publishing (LINK TO HIS EP). Sam returns to discuss his work in energy medicine and other healing modalities. Sam reveals his many projects as a multifaceted human on a mission to help others. Listen carefully for a discussion of Sam's beta program around integration and healing in community. Our discussion unveils 9 powerful mantras; enjoy the interview! Mantra #1: Learning about healing can unveil the Healer underneath. Mantra #2: You can heal and be healed in many ways/ many modalities. Mantra #3: The Healer and the Healee co-create the healing (with the Healee, not the Healer, truly driving the process) Mantra #4: Facilitation is not fixing. Mantra #5: Facilitation is about holding space and creating safety for healing. Mantra #6: Facilitation is about seeing people as already whole without expectations Mantra #7: Preparation is key Mantra #8: Less can be more (going slow can be the fastest way) Mantra #9: Follow-up (integration) is crucial. Sam mentions four key elements: rest, whole foods, hydration, and movement; a fifth would be spending time in nature. Please listen carefully to Sam discuss the need for caution and discernment when thinking about plant medicines. The Medicine Wheel Sam described the medicine wheel as containing the four elements of heart, mind, body, and spirit. In balance, they are: Heart (water): self-love and connection to others Mind (fire): analytics and planning Body (earth): feeling grounded and safe in one's body Spirit (air): feeling connected to something greater than one's self Heart (water): example- MDMA Mind (fire): example- psilocybin Body (earth): example- San Pedro Spirit (air): example- ayahuasca More about Sam Sam Liebowitz, known as The Conscious Consultant, is a facilitator, mentor, speaker, healer, serial entrepreneur, and author of the #1 best-selling empowerment book, Everyday Awakening. This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes Inter-spiritual Minister, Actor/Singer, and Motivational Presenter, Sandra Bargman. After a lifetime of learning about the mystical, earth-based and energetic traditions, Sandra answered the call to spiritual leadership, taking on a parallel career by enrolling in seminary at The New Seminary (TNS) for Interfaith Studies in NYC and was ordained at St. John the Divine in 2007. She has a subsequent seminary degree in Spiritual Counseling from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, also in NYC.Sandra has been a professional actor and singer for 40+ years and holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in drama and music. In 2014, Sandra started her own company, Sacred Stages, LLC, which produces plays, performance art, and media, as well as her one woman shows dedicated to exploring our big questions about life and contemplate these challenging times. Her most recent show, The Edge of Everyday, was nominated for a Broadway World Cabaret Award.Sam and Sandra will discuss the relationship between performance and the divine, with a special announcement at the end of the show!Tune in for this enlightening conversation at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by Clicking Here.Segment 1Sam opens with the passage “Chaos Allows Us to Go from Evolutionary to Revolutionary” from his book, Everyday Awakening, available at all major booksellers. When we take our chaos and spread the mess around, it can create new constructions of the chaos that allow us to process and work through them in revolutionary ways. As humans we find comfort in being orderly, but that's just not how life tends to work. Things will come along to make a mess in our lives. That mess however can create an opportunity to reinvent ourselves. Sometimes we need to experience this chaos in order to be motivated to make big changes in our lives. Most of the time we take actions to improve our lives one step at a time, but it's the chaotic moments that are real opportunities for us to do something different. If we can cultivate presence of mind and learn to see every challenge we face as an opportunity, we can create positive change. A great example of this is the last year and half, when we've all had to reinvent our lives in certain ways. There can be magic in not knowing where we're going. Go to the Everyday Awakening website to learn more about the book. Sam welcomes to the show Inter-spiritual Minister, Actor/Singer, and Motivational Presenter, Sandra Bargman. Sam asks Sandra about her upbringing. Sandra describes herself as someone living under her mother's dream, since her mother was a musician but became a teacher by profession instead. Her father was a violinist. She was very musical and spiritual growing up and decided in high school that she wanted to be a performer. She was spiritual growing up - she loved going to churches and describes herself as someone who could always “read the room.” After the break, Sam will ask Sandra what her tipping point was in wanting to become an interfaith minister. Segment 2Sam comes back from break to ask Sandra how she came to her decision to do what she does. Sandra says it was a slow buildup. She moved to Syracuse as a child to a school district her parents chose due to the reputation of the arts program. When she was a junior in high school, she says she couldn't imagine not being a full-time performer. She was accepted to Carnegie Mellon Conservatory. She has never regretted her decision and knows her heart would be empty if she didn't choose her path. She was always very spiritually aware and became interested in the New Age scene in high school. At 40, while on tour, a friend who was a life coach introduced her to life coaching and she was interested, but it didn't quite do it for her. Then one day she came across the website of someone who was a life coach and interfaith minister which sparked her interest. Within one week she was enrolled in a seminary to become an interfaith minister. Sam asks if Sandra cultivated any practices to enhance her spiritual gifts or if it just came naturally. Sandra answers it came naturally but she always has had a sense of understanding that it's a gift. When she was in seminary she realized she needed to give her spiritual gift much more space in her life. Around the same time her mother was battling cancer and asked her to be the minister at her funeral. It was a tremendous gift but also agonizingly painful to fulfill this duty. Sam has had conversations with people who have for transitioning out of life since in our society we do so little to prepare. Sam asks if seminary was just what she was looking for or if there were surprises along the way. Sandra answers it was mostly what she was looking for but says there were definitely some conflicting ideas in seminary compared to her personal beliefs, especially with regards to organized religion. Seminary teachings were that interfaith ministry is not possible without an underlying religious belief, which Sandra vehemently disagreed with. She made her own beliefs, traditions and rituals to inform her practice. After the break Sam will ask Sandra how she combined interfaith ministry with performance, and how Sacred Stages came about. Segment 3Back from break, Sam asks Sandra what was the journey that brought interfaith and performance together. Sandra answers performance was always a good fit because it is the background and community she is familiar with, as opposed to any organized religion. Sam asks what ways did she use her seminary to connect with people. Sandra joined a wellness center where she was their spiritual counselor. From there she started to gain her own clients, and then started a wedding business. During this time she was still performing, and she developed a practice combining acting techniques and therapy to help people get across what they're trying to say in an authentic way. People would write monologues for situations they were revisiting, and instead of just talking about them, they could use their whole bodies to vocalize and give the situations energetic meaning. She gives the example of a woman who acted out a serious conversation she wanted to have with her father. The woman was blown away by how therapeutic the experience was. Sam says he has learned from his wife, who is a therapist, that trauma gets lodged in our bodies, and that performance can be an effective way to physically deal with the trauma. Sam asks about the development of Sacred Stages. Sandra says that Sacred Stages is the combination of her performance and ministry backgrounds. She wanted to have a production umbrella that overrode all the things she does. The name Sacred Stages is a literal phrase but it also covers the internal stages she thinks people are visualizing when they are interpreting their feelings. Sam will ask Sandra more about The Edge of Every Day one-woman show Sandra produces. Segment 4Sam comes back to ask Sandra about The Edge of Every Day. Sandra says her life was very service-oriented, and she had an edge of feeling unfulfilled. She was with her husband in the Catskills where she lives and came across an abandoned restaurant, which she told her husband she'd call “The Edge.” Her husband, a scientist, then told her about the “edge effect,” - the area where a field meets the forest, for example - where bursts of creativity and beliefs come together. Hence the name of her show. In the show she blurs the lines between multiple types of performance and her spiritual practices. The show is about coming to terms with chaotic, liminal spaces. Sam asks if attitudes toward the show have changed over time. Sandra says people can choose how deep they want to go when they experience the show. Sandra then makes the surprise announcement that her new show, Live in the Hive, is going to be premiering on TalkRadio.nyc. She's going to explore the edges in life. What are the feelings you're experiencing in life and how are they edging up with your personal and professional lives? Listeners will learn how to work through these edges on her show. Sam announces that previous episodes of The Conscious Consultant Hour are now available on ConsciousGood.tv. Sam reads a section from his book, Everyday Awakening called “How to Get to Where You're Going.” This section focuses on the benefits of “slowing down in order to speed up.” People can be more productive and creative, and less prone to mistakes, when they take more time for themselves. For example, by driving on a country road instead of rushing down the highway, you have a greater chance of missing an accident. Abby from Facebook Live recounts that just last night, a waitress served her pepperjack cheese even though she made clear to the waitress that she's allergic to peppers. More information about Everyday Awakening can be found at EverydayAwakeningBook.com and TheConsciousConsultant.com/Everyday-Awakening. When you purchase the book through the website, you receive access to many links including extra reading, meditation, discounts and more. For further reading, Sam recommends the book The Diamond Cutter. Sam announces the topic of today's show is The Underlying Stress of Life - how it appears in our lives and what we can do to alleviate it.Segment 2The Underlying Stress of Life is something Sam has become more keenly aware of recently. Why is there this constant, pervasive stress in the background? And why is everyone feeling this? The main reason these days of course is the pandemic. The things that made us connected, such as travel, were taken away from us. We're much more aware of the world in general than we were long ago. We learn new things about the pandemic every day and have been constantly fearing for our safety. Collectively we have not had an unconscious, life-or-death fear like this since the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic. It impacts us all collectively, which is why it's a pandemic and not an epidemic. This unconscious fear of “what happens if I get sick?” impacts us in many ways. People are more easily irritated, more likely to get angry, more likely to fight with somebody. Our emotions have harder edges these days. We're also more tired than we used to be - everything takes more effort, more energy, more stamina. We're not able to be as present as we used to. What can we do about all of this? How can we be more aware of this underlying stress so that we can show up for ourselves and be more present?Segment 3Sam comes back to discuss the ways that work now stresses us out in ways that weren't present pre-pandemic. Sam's wife, who is a therapist, never seemed to get too stressed out from work when she was seeing patients in person, however since working remotely she finds herself much more tired and stressed at the end of a day of Zoom calls. It takes a lot more energy to do all of your work from screens than doing things in person. She decided to take the entire summer off - previously she had never taken off more than two weeks - which drove home for Sam how many other people must be feeling this level of underlying stress. Sam says he himself was much more exhausted than normal after a few weeks of commitments during the summer, and that it took two weeks of slowing things down and prioritizing self care to feel better. So, what can we do about it? Sam says that we must recognize and accept that things these days require more energy, and must be able to ration said energy. Step 1: Slow down. How do we do this? Before starting any task (starting a work meeting, phoning a friend, etc), take a breath. Close your eyes, take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. This is a basic yet effective way to bring ourselves into the present. Think to yourself: what is my intention in performing this task? What do I want to achieve? Sam encourages listeners to try the breathing exercise and see how it makes them feel. Repeat this breathing exercise after the task has ended (coming home from work, finishing a jog, etc). After the break Sam will talk about more ways to destress on a momentary, daily, weekly and monthly basis. Segment 4Sam returns from the break to discuss how we can manage this underlying stress on a daily basis, not just momentary. Sam's advice is to take a walk. Walk down your street, go to the park...find a place where you can go out and take a walk. Walking is known to stimulate both sides of the brain. Exercise is also key. Come up with a simple routine (5-10 minutes per day) to relieve your brain of stress. Going into nature is another activity that helps your body to destress, heal your body and release toxins. Sam describes the concept of “earthing,” which includes activities like walking barefoot and lying in the grass. Being in contact with natural materials feels good and is essential for the body. Sam says another great way to relieve stress is to take a long hot shower or bath. Turn up the heat so that the shower feels like a sauna. Get bodywork done, such as a massage. Facebook Live listeners chime in with what helps them destress, such as riding a bike. Finally, Sam says one of the most important things is to just sit down and be with yourself. Give your mind some space. Practice it as it's a very valuable skill. Stress and worry will build up in your system if you don't give yourself the time and space to be still and let your mind slow down. Find what works for you. If you are having trouble destressing, there's always the option of working with a professional. If you are interested in working with Sam, he can be reached sam@theconsciousconsultant.com or sam@talkradio.nyc. Sam closes by asking listeners for future show suggestions. After, he discusses the importance of admitting that you're uncomfortable and being present with others. After he finishes talking about his book, Sam introduces the guest of the hour, Nomi Bachar, a returning guest of the show. Sam asks Nomi how she started with her empowerment and Gates of Power(R) Method and she responds that it was her therapist who insisted that she should also become a therapist. They finish the section by talking about why she created the method; Nomi noticed that most practices didn't include the person as a whole, body, mind and spirit, when working on them and she wanted to change that.Segment 2Following the first segment, Sam and Nomi return to talk about the Power(R) Method. Sam asks Nomi why “gates” are called gates in the first place. Nomi introduces the 7 gates and explains that they are the pathways the human body goes through, hence why they are called gates. Then she goes on to describe the two elements of the soul: emotional and defensive. She expounds that people need to learn how to differentiate between the two using their “expanded” self, a state of mind where you're more observant. They finish the segment with an example of a depressed client who was able to find more compassion for herself by stepping into her expanded self.Segment 3After the break, Sam and Nomi get to talk about how the Gates of Power Method can help people feel more grounded in this uncertain time. Nomi explains that when people get stressed, they become defensive, disconnecting them from their emotional side, and because of being disconnected like this, people compensate and live with a compensating mindset. In order to be grounded, Nomi clarifies, you must stay connected to your feelings and spiritual nature. Take time for yourself everyday to get in touch with your feelings and relax your defensive side. In the final part of this segment, they discuss how meditation is key in helping stay grounded, but many people don't consider it. Like how working out requires you to work out every part of your body, you must take your mental health and spiritual health into consideration when trying to stay grounded.Segment 4In this finale, Sam and Nomi discuss loss and how you could deal with it using Nomi's method. She talks about life being full of loss and rebirth. If you experience a loss, it will be devastating and you must allow yourself to feel these feelings. But you must also look at it in a wider view, gently coaching yourself. Nomi's method is only a tool for you to treat yourself and helps you to be self-reliant. It is not her that helps you, it is you that helps you. This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes Musician and Author, Steve Litwer.Steve Litwer was raised by a single, mentally ill mother who suffered with both schizophrenia and bi-polar. The effect of this upbringing was something that thwarted his social interactions and relationships throughout his life. These were often contaminated by a legacy of fear, agitation, confusion, and feelings of inadequacy. As a young man, Steve wanted to be a musician. Largely self-taught on the guitar, he lacked the talent to play professionally, so he chose another career path until he retired, working in TV and radio stations in Kansas City, Memphis and Charlotte. In his retirement, as a volunteer, Steve began playing music for hospice patients. As their bedside musician, his private performances and companionship to those nearing the end of their lives began to unlock long-buried memories of his own past. The result? Surprising lessons and new insights about the events of his life and finding the path to emotional health and forgiveness for himself and his mother. The Music Between Us is a memoir about reckoning with a painful childhood, spiritual awakening, and discovering some of life's most important lessons in an unexpected way. Incorporating moving and sometimes funny true stories of people in hospice, this book explores the mysterious ways that Steve has come to understand and reclaim his life through the power of music and the unexpected gift of the healing he received from those who cannot heal.Tune in for this enlightening conversation at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by Clicking Here.Segment 1Starting off today's episode, Sam reads a section from his book Everyday Awakening. In this section, Sam talks about the dance we all learn to do in our lives: the dance between fluidity and integrity. He gives an example that, when you're doing transformational work with people and there's some kind of agenda like needing to go to lunch at a certain time, there may be a situation in which someone is having a breakthrough moment and you, as the leader of the group in charge of the agenda, may have to alter it slightly in that moment. Yes, it is important to keep one's word, however, in certain situations like the one described above, other things take precedence, Sam describes. Before going to break, Sam introduces his guest for the week Steve Litwer. Segment 2After the break, Sam asks what encouraged Steve to volunteer at a hospice as a musician. Steve explains that when he was an advertising executive, he came back from a business trip and his wife informed him a friend's husband was in hospice following a heart attack. She asked Steve if he could get his acoustic guitar and play for the husband at hospice. He agreed, and he says he never forgot that experience. About ten years later, a couple of years into retirement, he got an email with listings of volunteer opportunities, and one of the opportunities was from a hospital looking for someone to spend time with people in hospice. Thus, he got into playing music in hospice regularly. This prompts Sam to ask, what was it about working at a hospice that drew him rather than repelled him. Steve answers this question by describing how he learned to find a balance between the nonattachment necessary to do his work and also the deep sense of empathy required. Segment 3After the break, Sam asks Steve about how he came up with the title for his memoir The Music Between Us. Launching into an explanation, Steve gives his answer before also delving into the process behind creating this memoir. After this conversation, Sam asks Steve which story from hospice had the most impact on Steve. Steve talks about how he did research before going in to perform music for his clients, purposely picking songs that were from the genre that his clients listened to back when they were in their teens and twenties. For a specific client, based on his research, he played a song by the Everly Brothers. While he played, the client suddenly started shouting “Donny,” as in Donny Everly from the Everly brothers. She explained that the reason she had this reaction was because she used to date Donny. Steve describes that he and the client talked for a while about Donny Everly and his family. After this conversation, he was triggered to remember his own personal experience with his family. Next, Steve gets into a discussion about how music holds memories for us.Segment 4Sam welcomes us back from the break, and Steve answers a question that Sam had for him before the break: did he ever see a therapist. Steve answers that yes, he did, and through therapy he was able to access memories and emotions he had previously blocked out from his childhood. Switching subjects, Sam asks Steve how long he had been doing his current work playing music at hospice. Steve answers that he has been lucky enough to do this for about two years, and that when the pandemic hit and he could no longer go to hospice, he felt like he was going through withdrawal. About two months ago, thanks to the vaccine, he started being asked to go back to hospice. However, because of the recent delta variant of COVID-19, he says, has not been able to go back these past few weeks. Steve then gives advice to those who are doing the same work that he has had the opportunity to do. Closing the show, Steve lets us know where to find him on stevelitwer.com, his personal blog.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations
This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes Psychoanalyst, Spiritual Director, Naturopathic Doctor, Aromatherapist, and Fellow TalkRadio.NYC host, Dr. Georgeann Dau.Dr. Dau specializes in Transpersonal Psychoanalytical Depth Psychology, Spiritual Direction, and Holistic Health for all stages and phases of life's journey."I journey with my patients towards finding solutions to a wide range of life's challenges, long standing patterns of behavior, and relationship issues" she says.Dr. Dau has over 20 years experience in individual, couples and family treatment modalities. Blending conventional and alternative approaches, Dr. Dau draws on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful to the individual needs of each patient.Tune in for this transformational discussion at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by clicking here.Show NotesSegment 1Starting off the Conscious Consultant hour, Sam explores a section of his book Everyday Awakening. In this section, Sam talks about how, essentially, life gives us lessons but it is up to us to learn from them. If we learn from these lessons, the reward is a more joyful, more actualized life, he says. He elaborates that this section of the book was inspired by a conversation with his friend about the concept of free will. What he determined after the conversation is that life presents us with challenges and opportunities all the time, and it is up to us, he believes, to choose to be aware of them. Sam advises that we should focus not on what other people need to learn, but instead, focus more on what we need to learn, and notice when we start judging others. After this discussion, Sam introduces his guest Dr. Georgeann Dau, Psychoanalyst, Spiritual Director, Naturopathic Doctor, Aromatherapist, and fellow TalkRadio.NYC host. They get into a brief summary of Dr. Dau's journey to where she is today.Segment 2After the break, Sam asks Dr. Dau what the difference is between psychoanalysis and Transpersonal Psychoanalytical Depth Psychology. Dr. Dau explains why she labels it this way, describing what transpersonal and psychoanalytical both mean. Taking a quick turn, Dr. Dau talks about how, more important than your training is who you mentor with. As they continue the conversation, Dr. Dau and Sam begin discussing how we go through life largely unconsciously, Sam summarizes it this way: there are all these programs running around in our brain and some we are aware of and some we aren't. Psychoanalysis means sitting down and understanding what programs we use for our everyday life and figuring out what doesn't serve us anymore. Lastly, before going to a break, Sam asks Dr. Dau: What's the difference between psychoanalysis and a psychotherapist? Dr. Dau answers that she doesn't give solutions like how a therapist does. Instead, she describes, she helps her clients open up on a deeper level to be able to recognize over time the patterns that they have.Segment 3Returning to the show from the break, Dr. Dau talks about how she uses aromatherapy in her practice and how she got into aromatherapy in her twenties. As she describes, most of her training comes from Europe. She uses aromas in adjunct to her treatments, she says. She also brings up how important food can be in the healing process. This prompts Sam to ponder how, in the West, we think of medicine as something we create, something that isn't natural. Returning to food, they talk about how nutrition is important to mental and spiritual health. Dr. Dau puts it best: we live in the body and the body affects us on every level, spiritually and mentally. Shifting to a new topic, she talks about the kind of clients she helps; she helps people with midlife changes, difficulties in relationships, addictions and just people undergoing challenges in general. Before they wrap up this segment, Sam asks how the pandemic has affected her clients. Dr. Dau says she has been able to do much deeper work because there are fewer distractions. Sam then concludes this segment by talking about how many people didn't have or don't yet have the practice to help ground them during the pandemic.Segment 4As they return to the final segment of the podcast, Sam asks Dr. Dau what she plans to do next. In short, Dr. Dau says she feels content exactly where she is; she feels so privileged to do her work and she knows, thanks to God, she is leaving a legacy. Sam then asks her if she incorporates God in her work. She answers that she offers to speak to her clients in a spiritual way if they want to be spoken to on a spiritual level. However, she emphasizes, she is not here to convert anyone, but instead, to just walk with people on their journey. Because she is religious, God helps her with her work, but again, it is not her journey to convert her clients. Sam then asks if Dr. Dau has had any spiritual experiences happen during the healing process. She says, yes, it is not unique in her work to experience an elevation of consciousness between herself, the patient and mystery. She calls it love, she says. To close the show, Dr. Dau lets us know where to find her on www.drgdau.com.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

In this section, Sam discusses the nuances and benefits of letting go. After this short discussion, Sam gives a warm welcome to the first of his two guests this week, the executive film producer of Back Home Again, Charmaine Harmond. Sam asks why this film was so moving for Charmaine. Answering the question, she explains her personal connection to the Fort McMurray wildfires that the movie is based on. While she was not in Fort McMurray during the fires, she grew up there previously and returned during the recovery period. Continuing to elaborate, she talks about how much Fort McMurray means to her. Because she has such a strong love for her hometown and also a passion for having conversations about mental health, she feels lucky to have had this opportunity to work on the film Back Home Again.Segment 2Returning from the break, Sam asks Charmaine about why they chose to go with an animated film as opposed to a live action one. She explains that, oftentimes, looking at live images of a traumatic event can be retraumatizing, and that using animation instead can help negate this impact. Elaborating further on what the movie hopes to achieve, Charmaine describes Back Home Again as a family movie made to inspire conversations about mental health and coming together as a community. Charmaine talks about how important conversations don't start because people don't know how to talk about mental health or to access support. Hopefully, this movie can be a tool in starting these conversations. Back Home Again, Charmaine continues, is a movie that shares the stories of real people who experienced the fires and the fallout after them. Through the telling of these stories, Charmaine hopes to help people to understand the enormity of the tragedy. She also talks about how she hopes to shed light on how people can experience and process the same traumatic events differently.Segment3 After the second break, Sam welcomes the screenwriter and director of the film Back Home Again, Michael Mankowksi. Answering why he chose to work on this project, Michael explains that he, like Charmaine, has personal experience with the fires and also worked with Red Cross during the re-entry period following the wildfires. During the re-entry period, Michael talks about how he recorded over two hundred testimonials. However, he describes that he did not have control over the editing of these portrayals, and this led to a lot of frustration for him. He explains that he felt that the community and the experiences of the community were not accurately being portrayed. This inspired him to work on this project in hopes that he could accurately capture the community of Fort McMurray. Charmaine, Michael and Sam talk about how the vision was to create this movie as an educational resource for families, the classroom, or even the workplace. Ending this segment, they all discuss how lucky they are that they were able to attract such well-known actors to contribute to the project.Segment 4After the final break, Charmaine, Michael and Sam talk about some more goals behind creating Back Home Again. They discuss how they hope that this short will encourage people to stop talking about the fires themselves and instead focus on the rebuilding of the community. They also talk about how they worked closely with nineteen mental health professionals and psychologists throughout the process of creating the short and how helpful it was to have them as a resource. Next, they talk about when the film will be released. They are aiming for a broad release this fall, they explain, and have the world premier set for October 1st. In this section, he discusses how creativity is about the joy and the possibilities within us. He also asks: what stops us from being creative? More than anything, he answers, what stops us is not being connected to ourselves. He continues to elaborate on this section of the book, bringing up that he had a teacher who spoke about how the antidote to fear is creation. Sam analyzes this to mean that in order to connect to ourselves to feel the joy of creativity we need to feel good about ourselves. After this brief discussion about creativity, Sam introduces this week's guest Elise Krentsel. Elise and Sam talk about how Elise was asked to work with KISS, the band, in Japan, even though she didn't like their music.Segment 2After the break, Sam asks why Elise finally said yes to working with KISS. After answering this question, she describes her move to Japan and how Japan was the antithesis of New York. Next, they talk about how Elise ended up taking another position after the tour and thus, stayed in Japan for five years. Elise describes that her father had no say in the matter, but that her mother definitely encouraged her to pursue this opportunity. Next, Sam asks if it was difficult adjusting to living in another country. Laughingly, Elise clams up, admitting that this question is going to be answered in her second book, and therefore, she can't fully discuss the answer on the show. However, she does let us know she believes that consciously going to learn about other cultures and other people is how you adapt to a new place. Elise continues that it's not just learning about another country, it's living it too.Segment 3 Returning to the show, Sam asks about how Elise felt about New York coming back from Japan. She talks about how different New York is from Japan and how that affected her. She then talks about how far more advanced Japan's technology was than the technology of the United States. Next, Sam and Elise discuss how Elise started a marketing agency in New York to service Japanese companies. Switching topics, Elise launches into how she eventually ended up going to Northern Europe. During her time in Northern Europe, she explains that she had the opportunity to create the first cds roms that were travel sized. This discussion prompts Sam and Elise to talk about how Elise spearheaded so many things, even talking about how in Japan she became known as the godmother of punk rock. Sam asks if doing so many projects was challenging. Elise answers that yes, but she thrives on it and enjoys being able to be ahead of any curve.Segment 4After our final break of the show, Sam asks why Elise wrote her recent memoir. Elise explains that she is a voracious writer, so much so that eventually she had a collection of over one hundred short stories about her life. Finally, during January of 2020 she decided that it was time to unravel these stories and put them into a trilogy. Excitedly, she lets us know that she has officially started on book two. Sam asks where the title of her first memoir, Under My Skin, came from. Explaining, Elise says the title came from having to peel back all layers of life to get to the core essence of the person she's always tried to become, however, was already that person. Continuing to elaborate, she talks about how something changed when she gave birth to her son; she started living life by looking within. She describes it this way: the first part of life she lived outward, the second part she spent looking inward. Now, today, she talks about how she currently is living life with the perfect blend of looking outward and inward. For over 30 years he has hosted and produced the weekly television series New Realities in New York City. With 70,000+ subscribers to his YouTube channel of the same name, there have been over 20 million viewers who have seen his programs. Including luminaries in the field of health, spirituality and UFOS - such as Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Ram Dass and every major UFO researcher in the field. With his media appearances, lectures, and conferences he informs millions about human potential, remote viewing, and the nature of alien contact. For over seven years he has been an emcee at the largest UFO event in the country, Contact in the Desert. He feels that only when the inner explorations of the soul are combined with the outer adventures of the mind can we achieve a harmonious understanding of our place in the cosmos. Making Contact presents multiple perspectives on what no longer can be denied: UFOs and their occupants are visiting our world. The book answers questions which remain in the wake of the recent Pentagon's disclosures as to who and why these beings are here. The volume contains original writings by the leading experts of the phenomena such as: Linda Moulton Howe, Earthfiles reporter, Whitley Strieber best-selling author of Communion, Professor John E. Mack, former head of the Harvard Medical school of psychiatry and an alien abduction investigator, Darryl Anka internationally known for his communication with the extraterrestrial Bashar, Nick Pope, former UK Ministry of Defense UFO investigator, Grant Cameron expert on American presidents and UFOs, Drs. J.J. and Desiree Hurtak, globalists and founders of the worldwide organization, The Academy for Future Science, Caroline Cory, director of Superhuman and ET: Contact, Mary Rodwell, author of the New Human about star-seed children, Henrietta Weekes, actress and writer, expressing the poetic aspects of making contact. Alan Steinfeld, contributes and curates the collection with 30 years of experience with the subject. The Foreword by George Noory of Coast to Coast AM kicks off the volume with his veteran overview of the need to wake up to the “new realities of extraterrestrial existence.”At this critical juncture in the government's official acknowledgement of the reality of UFOs/UAPs, scientists, politicians and mainstream news outlets have no idea what to make of these startling revelations or the outpouring of sightings and “contact” experiences currently being reported on a global scale. The book stands as the most comprehensive clarification to date on the intent and intelligence behind the phenomena. The variety of viewpoints expressed in the volume provide a solid foundation for the “preparation” of the greatest challenge to ever face humankind.Tune in for this enlightening conversation at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by clicking here.Show NotesSegment 1Sam begins today's episode by reading a section from his book, Everyday Awakening. He breaks down what the section means, explaining that sometimes, in the midst of chaos, we need to sit still and wait. Many times, he goes on, stressful situations will resolve in front of us if we allow ourselves to be patient. Next, Sam introduces the author of Making Contact and this week's guest, Alan Steinfield. Alan launches into a brief summary of how he was able to publish his book. They then shift to discussing two belief systems: living life as if life were for you and living life as if it were not for you. Though the belief of life being for you might not be necessarily true, Sam points out, if it serves you to believe this and you're able to pursue more opportunities as a result, why not use it. Moving forward in the conversation, Sam asks Alan how he came to be in his current career and Alan gives a condensed version of his story. Segment 2Returning from the break, Alan talks about how he started becoming interested in UFOs and extraterrestrials. As he describes, he was on a trip with his girlfriend at the time, and at some point slept and then woke up with a strange feeling and strange markings on his body. Alan then describes some memories that seem to be from an abduction that he began to recall as time passed. After this experience, Alan became extremely interested in extraterrestrials and UFOs. Sam then asks what the difference is between contact and abduction. Answering his question, Alan discusses the difference, explaining that there are two categories of people who have extraterrestrial experiences: abductees and contactees.Segment 3Following another break, Alan explains that the government has decided to refer to what used to be called UFOs to UAPs, and that with this change, there has been a change in mindset. He also explains that after a bill was created and signed for the government to release the information they have regarding UFOs/UAPs, we finally have received a report from the government that there was a UAP spotting. Switching subjects, Alan talks about all the ways we can potentially learn from extraterrestrials and benefits we could receive from interacting with them. Next, Sam asks if extraterrestrials have likely ever been perceived as gods, and Alan believes that yes, they have been, but that they are more our equals than beings to be worshipped.Segment 4Sam asks Alan about why Alan titled his recent book Making Contact. Answering, Alan explains that it refers to many things: making contact with ourselves, the planet and beyond ourselves. Continuing this discussion about the book, Alan clarifies that this book is different from many other books because it is a collection of essays. The reason Alan chose to use a series of essays is because, in his opinion, no one person has all the answers. Changing subjects, Sam and Alan discuss whether or not extraterrestrials have an intent to harm. Alan explains that he believes that extraterrestrials are not likely trying to harm us because, otherwise, they would have done it a long time ago. Closing the show, Alan lets us know that everyone can purchase Making Contact on Amazon and on Barnes and Noble, people can find him on youtube.com/newrealitites, send him an email at newrealities@earthlink.net, and lastly announces that he has an interview coming up and that people can reserve a spot on the website www.opencenter.org.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

In this except, he explores how we can stop allowing fear to cause us to miss opportunities. The key to this, he reads, is to just ask ourselves what we would do if we did not have fear, or in other words, seeing where fear is holding us back. This won't eliminate the fear, Sam elaborates, but it can allow us to make the small steps we need to take in order to achieve what we want or need. Next, Sam introduces his guest for the week, creator of the twenty-eight-day online course Five Minutes to Greatfullness, Waleuska Lazo.SEGMENT 2Returning to the show, Sam inquires how Waleuska went from being in criminal justice to her current career in self help. She explains how she wanted nothing more in the world than to be a criminal lawyer but, due to some setbacks, was unable to pursue this career. However, greater than her desire to become a criminal lawyer, was her underlying passion for helping people. She went on to co-create a company called Embanet, a company that brought online education to people who want to pursue higher education. Eventually, she sold her company. She describes that after a month of not going into an office, she found herself questioning her existence. Furthermore, she had to deal with a painful journey with an undiagnosed illness. These obstacles eventually caused her to embark on a spiritual journey, which led her to create her twenty-eight-day online course Five Minutes to Greatfullness.SEGMENT 3Sam brings us back to the show by asking Waleuska what she believes was essentially the source of her unhappiness in the past. She admits that perhaps she focused too much on the external world and neglected to practice mindfulness. When she hit rock bottom, as she mentioned in the last segment, she found herself turning to writing as a method of healing. They talk about how Waleuska had actually been involved in self help earlier in life, but the side of self help that focuses on financial gain and the external world. However, following her spiritual journey, she returned to self help but instead of focusing on the external world, she focused on the internal. She realized that helping others this way is how she felt the most fulfilled.SEGMENT 4Following the final break of the show, Sam asks Waleuska what people should expect from her book The Gratitude Blueprint, and the difference between the book and the Five Minutes to Greatfullness course. She explains that, while similar, the course holds people accountable in a way the book cannot. However, she brings up a special deal: for anyone who buys the book on her website, they can also register for the course for free this September and November. They then talk about some of her other books, including her memoir. Changing topics, Sam asks Waleuska how she believes gratitude can help people deal with the trauma of the past year with the COVID-19 pandemic. They close the show by letting listeners know where to find her on waleuksalazo.com.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

He talks about what it means to let go and the ways in which letting go can help us in our everyday lives. Emphasizing our health, he advises that, especially if it isn't serving us, to not “push” through life but to instead find some way to surrender.Segment 2After a short break, Sam introduces the topic of the show: being curious while on the adventure. Sam points out that curiosity is one of our greatest tools because if we can shift from judgement and resistance into curiosity, suddenly we can find all kinds of ways to get through what we're dealing with, and overall, more easily work through a difficult time. Sam gives some examples in his own life in which curiosity served him, including how curiosity led him to be able to take over Talking Alternative Broadcasting.Segment 3Sam reiterates what we just discussed in our last section, how curiosity can help us not only through difficult times but to just embrace life, before opening up about working with his friend and teacher Jennifer Hough. He launches into the story of how he ended up being able to attend a retreat that she led recently. Essentially, they worked out a deal for Sam to be able to join her advanced program called The Flight School. In the program The Flight School, there are three retreats included, and thus, Sam was able to attend the first of the three retreats last week. He talks about the connections he made with the other people in the retreat and how curiosity aided him throughout the process of making these connections.Segment 4Following the last break, he dives further into how the retreat went. He explains there was not necessarily a set agenda, but rather, Jennifer spent time answering plenty of questions, allowing the people's questions to guide what she talked about. Sam then goes into talking about how Jennifer's retreat was similar to another past workshop he attended. He describes that it was essentially organized chaos, but that everything that needed to get done got done. Finally, comparing it to the excerpt from his book we talked about earlier, Sam points out that when we stop pushing so much or holding so tightly to things, and use curiosity and openness, we are able see what is right here right now.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

Every SMB has their story to tell...but have they started doing their own podcast to get their voice out there?According to a blog on MentalHelp.Net (and a memorable Jerry Seinfeld comedy routine), the vast majority of people rank fear of public speaking as number one. For some people, this means a fear of speaking to large groups. For others, it means speaking to even a single person, especially if that person has the power to evaluate you.Doing a podcast seems to be on many SMBs to do lists, yet many businesses either don't have the time, or are deathly afraid, to get their voice out there. Who can they speak to if they want to get their SMB "On Air?"Our special guest this week is one of the people your SMB would want to get in touch with ASAP...don't miss it!Tune in for this pragmatic conversation at TalkRadio.nyc or watch the Facebook Livestream by clicking here.Show NotesSegment 1This week on Always FreyDay Steven Frey is joined by fellow TalkRadio.nyc host Sam Liebowitz. Sam brings up that by joining a network it relieves a burden so the SMB owners can focus on the important aspects. Steven tells how business owners focus on their passion and that is why having a community to back them is important. Sam emphasizes how although he runs a small business it is the quality of production he focuses on and going virtual made him apprehensive.Segment 4Steven shares that he learned that you have to strive for progress not success. Sam adds it is authenticity that attracts people, by being your most authentic self it feels more real and is more enjoyable for both the viewer and the broadcaster. Today's section is about feeling safe with yourself before you can feel safe with others. Sam tells a story about his experience with a client. While doing a ceremony with her, he noticed a change in her state and realized that she felt comfortable since she was in her own home. Sam encourages you to ask yourself whether or not you feel safe and observe why. What makes you feel safe? Segment 2 Sam introduces his guest Arvee Johnson, a master speaker and speaker trainer. Growing up Arvee was talkative but she did not plan for this career path. In college she studied Information Systems and got a job at Deloitte setting up financial accounting systems. Once she developed the skills, Arvee discovered she could use public speaking to move upward in her company. After reaching the top Arvee was not content because she was no longer a trailblazer. She began attending seminars where she met her mentor, who guided her on her path to becoming an entrepreneur. Segment 3 Sam asks about the trends she has seen before and after this pandemic. Arvee talks about the ways that audiences have changed throughout the year. Audiences wanted a presentation, not a boring lecture, but it did not feel authentic so audiences began demanding a conversational speaker. Now that the world has shifted people want what Arvee calls “raw authenticity”. Audiences want to know who you are today and connect to you. This authenticity may alienate some, but it has so much power and draws in the audience you are looking for. Speakers should not be afraid to share their core values, and with the right training thi authenticity is less scary. Arvee believes that TedTalks have had an impact on the length of talks. Segment 4 It took Arvee nine years to write her book “ *Speak Up, Get Clients* ( https://amzn.to/3o93gK7 ) ”. She read a chapter about illuminating fear and it's fatal expectations. Arvee shares that her biggest fear happened within the first ten minutes of her first attempt at public speaking. With proper training and enough rehearsal. You can find her book on Amazon. This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, It's just you and Sam! Bring your comments, your questions, and anything on your mind as Sam talks about why he got his shot this week, and why it is important to look at both sides of the discussion about Vaccines. This is not a show to convince you of anything, but rather an opportunity to look at this situation from a higher perspective and from a different point of view. Let's have a robust conversation together, and express your view of this ongoing debate! Tune in for this enlightening conversation or watch the *Facebook Livestream by clicking here* ( https://fb.watch/5jZv-b7AMT/ ) *.* *Show Notes* ------------ *Segment 1* Sam starts with a quote from his book Everyday Awakening. Today's section is called, “strength does not come from force, it comes from being vulnerable.” Sam shared his experience being bullied in his youth and how it had affected his self esteem. Through these experiences he now understands that people will often project false strength in order to prop up a weak ego. Sam believes that you must use your strength to uplift others and help them find their own strength. The ability to be vulnerable and ask for support is strength. Thought leaders often talk about authenticity and being strong enough to share your pain with others. That is real strength. Segment 2 The reception of the Covid Vaccine has been incredibly divisive. Some have even seen it as an assault on their personal freedom. Sam questions whether or not this is a mindset specific to America and compares the mindset of eastern nations. He understands that the statistics can look a certain way but this is not a matter to be for or against. It is important to be critical and do what makes sense in the moment. Segment 3 Sam explains why he has gotten his first shot. It is because of the science, seeing what has happened in communities that don't have access to the vaccine, and because he does not want to transmit the virus to the people he loves. When the vaccine came out, he talked to people that he trusted about the vaccine and his options. Sam is aware that when new tech comes out there will be bugs, it is for that reason that he chose to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. When making the decision to not take the vaccine, Sam wants you to think about whether or not your choice is a heart centered choice or a push back. Sam does not view the choice to take the vaccine as an attack on personal freedom because it is not being forced on the public and you are not losing freedoms when helping the community at large. Segment 4 The perspective about community responsibility is not just about vaccines, it's about how we show up in the world in general. Sam ties this to climate change. Regardless of your stance on climate change, the things that scientists encourage us to do should be done regardless. Recycling and reducing carbon emissions benefit us regardless. We have a responsibility to life in general. Sam believes that this is more significant than being right or wrong about the issues. Sam then talks about the difference in vaccination when he was a kid compared to the way children are vaccinated. Today's section is called, “Our Physical and Emotional Health are Interdependent.” This section explored the impact that your emotional health can have on the body and the importance of finding a safe space to express yourself. He welcomes his guest Serge Kahili King, a psychologist who has studied dreams and taught people about his findings for over 40 years. From a young age, Serge has had an affinity for the indigenous cultures of Hawaii because his father was adopted by a family from that culture. He practiced Hula dancing and playing the ukulele. After seven years spent in Africa doing community development, Serge returned to the states with his family and decided to pursue his PHD in Psychology. *Segment 2* Serge talks about shamanism and the way that it is misunderstood by people in western cultures. When Serge decided that he wanted to bring the knowledge of shamanism to the cities, he realized that shamans across cultures decided to do the same. In his book Serge discusses night dreams, daydreams and liminal dreams. Liminal means, the things that happen that shouldn't. He gives an example of a liminal dream experience. Serge realized that most books about dreams were about interpretation and there was a lot left out. He decided to write a book and fill the large gap that he noticed in information. *Segment 3* The Huna believe that dreams are memories of the ancestors or information from them that can help in life. There is a strong connection between dreams and waking life. In order to remember your dreams, Serge recommends that you write them down. There are other ways to help your ability to recall, like the affirmation to remember, relaxing when you wake up and returning to the position you woke up in, eating cheese, and some even believe that having a crystal under your pillow will help. Serge has divided lucid dreams into four types; one where you know who you are, you consciously make a change, recognition that it is a dream. According to a study that serge cited, people who play video games experience lucid dreams often. He attributes this to the fact that they are practicing control of a virtual world in a way that is parallel to lucid dreams. *Segment 4* Lucid dreaming requires a lot of practice. Once you are able to control your dreams, you develop the tools to exercise influence in your waking life. This is only possible if you continue to process as you awaken. With his book Serge hopes to help people by providing techniques to improve, expand and change their life. To learn more about Serge Kahili King and the power of dreams, visit www.huna.org ( http://www.huna.org ). On his site, there are nineteen books available for purchase. Today’s guest, Sam Liebowitz, is a healer, coach, mentor and author of Amazon three-category best-seller, “Everyday Awakening”. Liebowitz’s goal in life is to help people achieve their true potential spiritually as well in the business world. Liebowitz does many things to help out other people. He has an internet radio station on TalkRadio.NYC for which he talks to many people from all walks of life to help inspire and uplift his listeners. He also has done a course called “Monetization Class for Podcast” to help other people interested in podcasts. Plus, he has additional classes in the works right now. In today’s podcast, he helps us elevate our consciousness. Expanding Your EnergiesWe always have energy spreading and interconnecting with all living things. To expand our energies positively, we must be non-judgmental, connect with others and be true to ourselves. “Life happens to us, not for us.” We cannot stay stuck on judging others for what they do and say. Once we focus on these energies, we can continue to spiritually expand and help others around us. Finding Peace in the World’s ChaosThe world is a hectic and chaotic place. Sometimes during all this chaos, it can be difficult to find the peace we need. Liebowitz explains that to have peace you must have daily practices like meditation, exercise, deep breathing and self-care. The more we take care of ourselves, the more life will take care of us. For the world to have peace, everyone must do their own personal work. If you see violence, then there is violence in you. Since we are energy-rich organisms, the light we produce sends messages all around the world. Therefore, if you see violence, your violent energy will globally spread, even if you are not causing harm. To stop this, clear your consciousness of these violent thoughts. Making Sense of the Act of DestructionIn a civilization where school shootings, terrorist attacks, war and other destructive events occur, destruction is a concept that many people know and understand. With so many negative things happening around us, it can be hard to handle. Liebowitz explains that this chaos is an expression of pain. “Happy people do not kill other people.” We need to acknowledge this pain and know to alleviate it. However, our society does not always do this because it has a mindset of being separate and distinct. To truly have peace, we must understand how interconnected we are with each other. To hear more from Sam Liebowitz, head over to his radio station. You can also read his new book for spiritual messages to help you get through different aspects of life. Today's section is called, “Shining A Light on Shame is How We Release It,” which is about the power of acknowledging your own shame and the impact it can have on the people around you. He believes that this should be done with the people who support you and will accept you without judgement. Today's guest is Aimée Lyndon-Adams. Her mission and commitment is to support Extraordinary Women, along with the men that love them, as she believes that it is the Western Woman that will change the world. Aimée shares her earliest experiences of, “bubbling up joy,” and realizing that she was a little different. As a teen she began to practice Hatha Yoga, vegetarianism, and affirmations. This sparked a journey towards getting fully into her body and maintaining a connection to the higher world. Through a guided energy session she later met her five guides. Segment 2 Aimée was once a high level executive at Charles Schwab, Citi Bank, and Omega Performance before focusing full time on working with the guides. When she began working with the guides, Aimée noticed that she had begun saying things that she did not know herself. There were times that she was baffled by the things that came out of her mouth. Sam had a similar experience. When assisting others he tries to go through the process quickly so that his ego doesn't get in the way and prevent him from speaking. When introduced to her 5 guides she asked their names and their purpose for being there, but gradually to avoid overwhelming her. Segment 3 Aimée was unhappy with her life in the corporate world and others dismissed it as part of the nature of the business. After leaving she worked to clear that energy out of her field and was introduced to her five guides, Mary Magdalene, and Yahshua. This led to her developing a better understanding of her purpose in life. In 2020, a year of clear vision, Aimée believes that spiritually that year was one of great awakening and reset. Many have realized they want to live differently or are embarrassed by past behaviour, and in turn have radically redesigned their lives. Sam notices that even individuals that do not see themselves as spiritual have shifted their values. Segment 4 Aimée believes that we are in the process of discovering ourselves. She observes that from a young age we are programmed to make ourselves smaller in order to find our place in the world. Her guides have told her that there are many people in this world who have not been taught to think for themselves and this is why we have a herd mentality. In order to change this she encourages everyone to take a moment and reflect on what they are thinking and continue to bring yourself present. It is important to remember that the universe is your partner, it is always working for you not to you. To learn more about Aimée, visit aimeelyndon-adams.com. Ask your questions, contribute to the conversation, and be a part of the show! Tune in for this enlightening conversation at *TalkRadio.nyc* ( http://talkradionyc.msnd26.com/tracking/lc/a8216538-a299-47b2-80ab-760ed8208260/8416f3e5-f312-4993-af72-2807431a7d4e/0e7563bd-e990-41c8-9e2a-dd276d28e0f2/ ) or watch the *Facebook Video by Going Here* ( https://fb.watch/4BOYlYntd5/ ). *Show Notes* ------------ * Segment 1:* This is the first episode of the month so today it is just Sam. He starts the show with a quote from his book, “Everyday Awakening,” about finding peace within yourself. Sam talks about how we often believe that our inner and outer worlds are separate but they do not need to be. By being the change you want to see in the world, you can reshape your environment. If these ideas resonated with you, visit everydayawakeningbook.com to buy a copy of Sam's book. *Segment 2:* Sam talks about the impact that sleep can have. He notes that if you were to turn off your morning alarms, you'd likely sleep in much longer than usual. In some cultures it is normal to take naps in the middle of the day. It is in cultures that prioritize productivity rather than well being that sleeping in the middle of the day is frowned upon. Sam suggests that you shift your focus from productivity to doing things that serve you well. Not only should you sleep more, you should also be drinking more water. Very rarely does he drink tap water, on his sink is a filter and he has a sediment filter as well. Sam also recommends a healthy diet and exercise. *Segment 3:* Sam answers a response in the Facebook Livestream. A listener has recently become a vegetarian and Sam discusses the benefits that this can have on an individual's health as well as globally. It is said that if we consumed ten percent less meat we could save twenty-five percent of energy. Returning to the topic of energy, Sam talks about how hiking and engaging in movement can be a great way to utilize your energy. It can replace habits that don't serve us. Some situations can provide us with energy and uplift us. In order to receive, there has to be a willingness to receive and the belief that we are worth it. Some listeners share how they manage the energy they receive. One manages her visual energy by being intentional about what she watches on television, having beautiful objects in her home, and having pleasant looking screensavers. *Segment 4:* Sam discusses the importance of being in our authority. This means setting boundaries and not allowing the things you do not want. You do not always need to explain why, sometimes the only answer needed is, “This doesn't feel right.” So many people are trained not to say no to people because they wish to be nice but sometimes saying no is the nice thing to do. Sam reads the comment of a viewer that says, “Sometimes ‘no' is the greatest challenge.” Sam believes that setting your boundaries is a gift you give to other people because you are setting an example for them to do the same. This statement was inspired by his friend and colleague Jennifer Hough. Sam shares his personal experience with allowing difficult moments in his life to shape him for the better. Michael J. Gelb is introduced. Michael is a pioneer in the fields of creative thinking, innovative leadership and executive coaching. He is also the author of 17 books including How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci, Discover Your Genius, Innovate Like Edison, and The Art of Connection. As a teen Michael read Man's Search for Meaning and wondered how people could find meaning in their lives during atrocities much like Victor Frankl did. *Segment 2:* Michael shares how he began his career as a public speaker. In high school he was voted “Class Arguer,” so he already had the gift of gab. In graduate school he was invited to speak at a corporate event by a gentleman who was a successful author. The experience had such a strong impact on him that Michael decided to continue public speaking professionally. Michael's first book was about the Alexander technique, which is a method for developing stage presence. He does executive coaching with CEOs using this method and helps them break habits like self-soothing gestures and defensive posture that would make people less confident in their message. You can learn more about this technique in his book “Body Learning: An Introduction to the Alexander Technique.” *Segment 3:* His book, “Mastering the Art of Public Speaking,” was originally written in 1988 under the title, “Present Yourself: Captivate Your Audience with Great Presentation Skills.” He felt that he had learned a tremendous amount and had discovered his voice and wanted to write more books to help others so he wrote, “Present Yourself.” His books also lead to more public speaking opportunities over the years but those events have since been cancelled due to the pandemic. Michael hasn't been on a plane in 14 months. Fortunately for him, before the pandemic he had already begun consulting, speaking, and teaching via Zoom, which made the transition quite easy for him. Very little had to be changed. *Segment 4:* Michael believes the simplest and most actionable tip he can provide is to be really clear about your message and frame your presentation around the impact you would like to have on that audience. Michael recommends that before a presentation or podcast, the speaker should write down three key elements of their presentation; what you want the audience to know, feel, and what you want them to do as a result of your presentation. A classic acronym to remember is KISS, keep it simple speaker. Michal shares one more book with us called, “Wine Drinking for Inspired Thinking.” It is about team building through wine tasting. If you would like to know more about Michael or get in touch with him, visit michaelgelb.com. His books can be found on his website including free articles and videos. The quote is about the constant quest for self improvement and how this leads many people to look for solutions outside of themselves. Sam welcomes his guests Joel Salomon and Mollie Singh. Joel is a Finance and Mindful Money Expert, Master Prosperity Coach, and best-selling Author. Mollie is a university Professor, Author, IT Program Manager, and a Certified Infinite Possibilities Trainer. They talk about how many people do not have a conversation about money with their parents at a young age. If there isn't an actual conversation many learn from watching their parents. Joel and Molly will discuss how their partnership began after the break *Segment 2* Joel and Molly met each other through one of Mike Dooley's seminars. After talking to a client about how this client should include his wife in the conversation about money and having this client resist because he insists that he is “the money guy,” Joel realised that Mollie's experience working with couples would help this couple and others tremendously with managing their finances. Joel believes that the greatest misconception is that money is scarce. Mollie points out that many couples see it as a binary subject, “we either spend on me or them.” After the break, they will discuss the difference in how people think about money. *Segment 3* Mollie believes that the way people think about money is shaped by their upbringing. Sam brings up a cultural difference that he has seen in money management due to his marriage. She manages the money in the family and is accustomed to saving most of her income. Molly notes that women want safety and security so that is often a priority when managing money. In their book, Joel and Molly wrote about the money personality types. People often fall into more than one of the personalities and over time they change as well. *Segment 4* Joel believes that in order to best manage money, you need to be self aware and want to learn more about yourself. As a couple it is important to talk about money, specifically talking about feelings and fear around money. Sam notes that the solution is not always making more money. For some couples that he knows, the solution has been downsizing their lives. Joel and Molly's book Infinite Love and Money will be available May 14 on Amazon. Today's guest Charles Wininger explains how his interest in MDMA began, and why he decided to research its therapeutic application. Sam and Charles discuss the diverse ways that some psychedelics have been used and its potential, specifically in the treatment of PTSD. Both Charles and Sam are supporters of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). *Segment 2* At age 40 Charles realised that he wanted to be a therapist. Prior he was an executive recruiter and while he was successful he realised that it was not a career he wanted to continue for the rest of his life. In his practice Charles has noticed an alienation as well as a lack of communication between couples even prior to the pandemic. He attributes this to the amount of time we spend living behind a screen. When the psychedelic renaissance began, Charles and his wife decided to host potluck dinners in order to support the MAPS community. His book Listening to Ecstasy : The Transformative Power of MDMA, Charles talks about his experience with his wife as they navigated through the psychedelic community. Sam notes that within the psychedelic community there are two camps, one looks into lab created drugs while the other studies the natural ones. Charles is interested in MDMA specifically because of the impact it has had on his life and has respect for all medicines because of the benefits they share. *Segment 3* Charles believes that we are in the middle of an emotional crisis. He shares his own personal experience with MDMA and how it has acted as an “emotional glue” when resolving their conflicts. Sam asks if there were any past experiences that they have held onto and allowed to harm their present relationship. Charles shares their challenges with projection and self love. After taking MDMA or other substances, it is important to focus on integrating the lessons learned into your life. One of the ways that Charles has learned to integrate those experiences in meditation. It is because of these experiences that Charles wrote his book and guides others as they open up to the therapeutic benefits of MDMA. *Segment 4* Charles answers a question about the therapy. It is a temporary use, not long term. Often 2-4 sessions in between sober talk therapy is enough. He calls it a “gateway drug” because it is a gateway to the heart and it reveals some of your deepest and darkest thoughts. He believes that many of people's problems are ego focussed. With MDMA and your ego temporarily dissolved, you see the world in a radically different way. You can find Charles' book Living in Ecstasy on Amazon and Simon & Schuster. This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour , Sam welcomes Co-Authors *Mark Alyn & Servet Hasan*. *Growing Old Sucks* ( https://d38rqs2egh08o4.cloudfront.net/link_click/iUPAGsaT1S_bl3fj/8b366ded4c04f71bfad8d6be09f84021 ) ! We've all said it. Sure, there are some bad things about getting older, but the good things far outweigh the bad. As we age, we gain experience and wisdom (at least some of us do), we mellow and ripen (some of us smell like old cheese too) and we have freedoms that we never had while we were young. Talking with people is what *Mark Alyn* is all about. He is super nosey, which has helped him become an award-winning talk show host and producer. With more than 30,000 interviews spanning at least 10 years, he has chatted with business leaders, health pros, politicians and people on the street. He has anchored local news, reported in the field and hosted a movie trivia program. As a former restaurant and food critic, he never gets invited to dinner. *Servet Hasan* is the award-winning author of Life in Transition, An Intuitive Path to New Beginnings, as well as The Intuitive Heart of Romance and Tune Him In, Turn Him On (all published by Llewellyn Worldwide, Ltd). A student of the mystic masters of the Far East, Hasan is also a renowned motivational speaker who inspires others through her television and radio appearances, live seminars, and workshops. Born in Pakistan, she is also a citizen of England, Canada and the United States. She considers herself a spiritual ambassador of the world. Tune in for this enlightening conversation at *TalkRadio.nyc* ( https://d38rqs2egh08o4.cloudfront.net/link_click/iUPAGsaT1S_bl3fj/d9b525c0189662c76d8fd9db52352030 ) or watch the *Facebook Livestream by clicking here* ( https://www.facebook.com/samwyz/videos/10157879087662879 ) *.* *Show Notes* *Segment 1* Sam shares his two quotes of the day. One, a quote from the universe. The other, from Abraham. Both powerful quotes that are meant to inspire listeners and add value into their life. Not letting the fear of failure interfere with one's purpose in life. Sam uses his book, Everyday Awakening, as an example of a tie when he didn't let the “what if's” interfere with his process. When you quiet the negative voices in your head, great things can happen. *Segment 2* Sam introduces his guests, Mark Alyn and Servet Hasan! Together they begin to explain the inspiration behind their new book, “Growing Old Sucks But It Doesn't Have To” and talk about why they felt it was important to have both a male and female perspective. They say they feel it's important to know that change comes from within and not fighting who we're becoming. Servet also explains why she is against the term “anti-aging” because if we aren't aging - we're dead. *Segment 3* Mark talks how the times have changed, what was acceptable at an old age back in his day opposed to now. Servet talks how women feel as they age and the unfair idea that men get better as they age and women appear worse. For example, gray hair on a man tends to make him look “distinguished” while gray hair on a woman makes her look the opposite. They also touch on how to make the most of your life by being the best friend, parent, coworker, neighbor, you can be. *Segment 4* Sam asks Mark to give advice to people who are starting to feel themselves aging and need a pep-talk on ways to stay energized in life. His advice involves exciting changes like having sex in the kitchen, cooking a new meal you've been wanting to try, going on an adventure. Servet's advice involves keeping up with medical checkups, making exercise a priority, finding hobbies you love, and healthy doses of red wine! These are just some practices and more that can be found in their book. Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

This week, it's just you and Sam as he dives into the topic of Releasing Limiting Beliefs. We all have them. Those sneaky little beliefs that keep us from greater wellness, greater happiness, and greater prosperity.. Yes they are so ubiquitous and so ingrained, we rarely even notice them. This week I will take you through how to spot them, how to deal with them, and how to move past them so you can feel better, live better, and be better in your life! Tune in for this special enlightening conversation at TalkRadio.nyc ( https://d38rqs2egh08o4.cloudfront.net/link_click/gjWl0lEFRT_amX19/9ec1200a5d9a7f80916e2dfd21400730 ) or watch the *Facebook Livestream by clicking here* ( https://www.facebook.com/InspiredThoughtsWithSam/videos/2009051482561153/ ). *Show Notes* Segment 1 Sam reads off his quotes of the day. Sam discusses his wife's current condition and the challenges you face watching someone struggle. He talks about accepting and living into your vulnerability and fear in your life. We can align ourselves up with more peace, joy and prosperity. When we focus on things that lift us up in our lives, we feel healthier. It is not always about what is happening in front of us, but what is happening inside of us. Segment 2 The topic this week is Releasing Limiting Beliefs. Everyone has an upper limit of how comfortable we are feeling good. It is not specific to one specific part of life it is about life in general. As children, we don't necessarily have this but as we age we develop a fear of feeling good. There is a mental program that something bad always has to follow something good, and we can't feel good forever. Why not? Why can't we feel good in our relationships, career, health, and friendships. It is important to pay attention to where we stop ourselves from feeling good. Sam does not believe you need to know the “why” to our limiting beliefs. This doesn't mean we ignore trauma that is causing limiting beliefs, but it is about helping the body to re-regulate itself and let it go. People lose their magic when they reach their upper limit. All limiting beliefs in one way or another come back to how good we allow ourselves to feel about ourselves. Segment 3 Sam discusses his book “ *Everyday Awakening* ( https://amzn.to/32sOmUB ).” Everything that stops us from moving forward in our life are things that make us feel better. It feels good to have the strength to help people who need it. Any time we come upon a limit and stop ourselves from growing and expanding, it is because we have reached our capacity for feeling good. The people who have more wonderful stuff in their lives appear to be feeling good for more time. If you feel joyful and happy, good things will come. How do we release our limiting beliefs? We have to practice feeling good throughout our lives. It comes down to one thing, self care. Self care is not sitting around on the couch and doing nothing. Self care is doing the things that are in our best interests. It is a physical act of saying we love and care about ourselves. Our limiting beliefs will start to dissolve when we practice allowing ourselves to feel good. Segment 4 Our limiting beliefs are really just our capacity for how good we can feel in our lives. When we can increase our capacity to just feel good, we can move past our limiting beliefs. Self care is important. We can't fool our mind into loving ourselves. We have to actively take care of ourselves in order to truly believe that we love ourselves. Our nervous system was made to survive, and the challenge is overcoming that innate behavior. We can show our nervous system it is OK to feel good, that there is no danger. It is OK to take baby steps and only do one thing at a time to show that you love yourself. Start with what you know you can do. The homework assignment for this week is to notice the length of time you can feel good. When you start to reach that upper limit, figure out what you can do to push it a little bit more. Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

He relays that, in the face of all of the hardships, people will always have the option to choose what to focus on. Segment 2 This segment, Sam shares the quote of the day from Abraham and the Universe. For this quote, Sam continues the conversation on the power of focusing on the things that help empower us and lets us thrive. He speaks heavily on being flexible and open-minded, especially when the future is uncertain even post-quarantine/pandemic. Ultimately, he believes it is important to see the hardships as learning opportunities and to trust ourselves more. Segment 3 Sam announces his first book, Everyday Awakening (which is on sale November 17, 2020). This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour , Sam welcomes Psychologist, Author, Love & Joy Coach, and Workshop Leader, *Elliott Robertson*. “ To say Yes to life is to fall into your heart, to fall into the place within you where you are most fully human, most available to encountering the world with love.” So says Elliott ( https://d38rqs2egh08o4.cloudfront.net/link_click/fbYiw5ra7K_bkEle/2784e1b0e3e06db46a5e3cd057d126dd ) , who has created a lyrical, soaring, small and intimate book, *Say Yes to Life: 7 Keys to Living Full Out from Within* ( https://d38rqs2egh08o4.cloudfront.net/link_click/fbYiw5ra7K_bkEle/8c6f71ce3192b3282c6553712993681c ) , that strives to inspire, illuminate and propel you into a new way to live. This charming part-guide book, part parable, part exhortation provides you a magically illuminated road-map to the expansion of living from the most authentic soul-driven part of you. The fastest and most complete way to find happiness. Watch the *Facebook Livestream by clicking here* ( https://www.facebook.com/InspiredThoughtsWithSam/videos/666176903990315/ ) *.* Segment 1 The show begins with the weekly quotes from Abraham and the Universe. The quotes are about focusing on the positive and finding something good in the bad because your energy affects everyone around you. You can find the good around you by creating the good around you. Then he introduced the guest of the show Elliott Robertson. He had not always been in connection with the undercurrent of joy that we are born with. Sam announces that he is going to be joining Elliott for his book called Everyday Awakening. Segment 2 Elliott was not always a happy person: he used to be very jealous of what others had. He would try to find others to blame such as his parents, god, but would not blame himself. Elliott originally was going to name his book Say Yes to God instead of Say Yes to Life because he felt they were synonymous. He shares a story when his father would have expectations for his sons that they could not meet, and often used an abrasive tone when speaking to his children. Elliott wishes that he has treated the situations with more kindness - as everyone should use their hearts eyes and exercise compassion. By asking “how can I be there for you?” it brings more awareness to the situation. Segment 3 Elliott says a main goal people should focus on is recognizing and appreciating their inner gifts. Everyone has talents and they need to be proud of them as they are all important (excellent conversation starter, deep compassion). You also much honor the things you love, whether you are good at not. For example, you may love weaving but not be the best at it -- Elliott says you must do these things anyway because this is listening to your heart. Sam suggests that no one is good at anything when we first try it, but if you continue to put time and energy into it you will improve. tandem, the progress you make will also make you feel better in combination with doing what you love. Segment 4 Integrity is one of the pathways to happiness according to Elliott. We must be conscious of the “water cooler effect” as in gossiping. When we do this we are taking money out of the integrity bank account. Not trusting yourself gets in the way of your inner peace. Knowing you're doing the right thing is a way to build a rapport with yourself and earn trust with who you are as a person. A good way to do this is to pay for the coffee of the person behind you which is a small gesture that could make someone's whole day.
