How do you rebuild an entire industry that most people accept as slow, fragmented, and frustrating? In this episode, I sit down with Dan Lifshits, co-founder of Dwelly, to explore how AI is being used to rethink the rental market from the inside out. What struck me most in this conversation is how Dwelly isn't approaching property management as a software layer you simply bolt on. Instead, they are acquiring rental agencies and rebuilding the operating model itself, embedding AI into every workflow, from tenant communication to maintenance coordination and rent collection. It is a very different mindset, and one that challenges how many businesses think about digital transformation. Dan brings a fascinating perspective shaped by his time competing in high-growth environments at companies like Uber and Gett. We talk about what those years taught him about scaling complex, operational businesses and how those lessons now apply to one of the largest and least digitized sectors in the economy. There is a clear parallel between ride-hailing and rentals, both are fragmented, both rely on two-sided marketplaces, and both have historically depended on manual processes that struggle to scale. As Dan explains, "long-term residential rentals ticks very similar boxes" to ride-hailing, which makes it ripe for reinvention. We also spend time unpacking what an AI-powered rollup actually means in practice. This is where the conversation becomes particularly interesting for founders and business leaders. Rather than selling software into traditional businesses and hoping for adoption, Dwelly takes control of both the operations and the technology. That allows them to redesign workflows, remove bottlenecks, and deliver a more consistent experience for landlords and tenants alike. The result is a model where a single operator can manage hundreds, even thousands, of properties with a level of service that would have been impossible just a few years ago. Of course, there are bigger implications here too. If this model works at scale, it raises questions about how many other service industries could be rebuilt in a similar way. It also highlights the growing role of venture-backed rollups, particularly with firms like General Catalyst backing this approach as a new investment category. But it is not without challenges. Changing operational behavior, integrating acquisitions, and maintaining service quality while scaling fast are all complex problems that cannot be solved by technology alone. This episode left me thinking about where the real value in AI sits. Is it in the tools themselves, or in the willingness to rethink how a business actually operates? And if AI can transform something as established as property management, which industries are next in line for the same kind of reinvention? I would love to hear your thoughts. Oggi quasi anticipando la gioia di Pasqua, il Signore Gesù ci svela con la parabola più bella e più amata del Vangelo il Padre misericordioso e il figlio che ritorna, l’irrefrenabile misericordia e l’amore incessante che nutre per ciascuno di noi, la sua paziente e trepida attesa, il suo sguardo che arriva lontano, fino al pascolo dei porci, e diventa potente attrazione che richiama e converte: «Quando era ancora lontano, suo padre lo vide, ebbe compassione, gli corse incontro, gli si gettò al collo e lo baciò». Poi, dopo la recuperata figliolanza, segue la gioiosa celebrazione conviviale, che segna il pieno reinserimento nella casa paterna: «Presto, portate qui il vestito più bello e fateglielo indossare, mettetegli l’anello al dito e i sandali ai piedi. Prendete il vitello grasso, ammazzatelo, mangiamo e facciamo festa, perché questo mio figlio era morto ed è tornato in vita, era perduto ed è stato ritrovato». E cominciarono a far festa. I momenti oscuri vengono così cancellati, a cominciare dal triste: «Padre, dammi la parte di patrimonio che mi spetta». Viene redento il peccato antico e sempre attuale, quello di reclamare una libertà piena e incondizionata, di uscire dalla casa paterna, dall’abbraccio del suo amore, nella facile illusione di poter sperimentare l’ebbrezza di una supremazia che annulla ogni dipendenza. Ci ricorda il momento fatale in cui i nostri progenitori hanno teso la mano per prendere e mangiare il frutto dell’albero proibito. Oggi, come allora, il Signore, buon Pastore, si mette alla ricerca della pecora smarrita ovunque e comunque essa si sia persa. La certezza di non restare mai soli, di essere anzi cercati, fa nascere la speranza e il ripensamento come primo moto verso la conversione: «Io qui muoio di fame! Mi alzerò, andrò da mio padre e gli dirò: Padre, ho peccato verso il Cielo e davanti a te; non sono più degno di essere chiamato tuo figlio». La consapevolezza di aver sperperato malamente i doni preziosi fa sperare di poter essere accolto soltanto come uno dei salariati. Il Signore però non ci vuole come salariati: in forza dello Spirito non siamo più schiavi, ma figli, e se siamo figli siamo anche eredi. Così vuole Dio. Che meraviglia! Dopo il peccato siamo stati accolti, baciati, rivestiti, nutriti e festeggiati: «Se uno è in Cristo, è una nuova creatura; le cose vecchie sono passate; ecco, ne sono nate di nuove», e ancor più: «Ci sarà più gioia in cielo per un peccatore convertito, che per novantanove giusti che non hanno bisogno di conversione». Abbiamo iniziato la Quaresima con un invito: «Convertitevi e credete al Vangelo», ora sappiamo la via alla conversione, resa più facile se confidiamo nella divina misericordia. Karrierjének indulása egy szentesi kollégiumhoz kötődik, ahol megismerkedett későbbi alkotótársával, Ótvar Pestissel, azaz Olasz Patrikkal, akivel együtt kezdtek el freestyle rappelni. A kollégium számítógéptermében készítették az első zenei alapokat számaikhoz, amelyeken Pogány Induló rappelt, Ótvar Pestis pedig producerként vett részt az alkotói folyamatban. Az eredetileg hobbiként induló projekt 2022-ben kapott hatalmas löketet, amikor Pogány Induló Zártosztály és Gettó Csirke című számaival óriási sikert aratott a YouTube-on, sokmilliós megtekintést érve el a videómegosztó platformon. Az internetes kiugrást gyorsan követte egy nagy koncert is: alig volt 18 éves, amikor 2024 márciusában fergeteges élő showt-t adott a 20 ezer néző befogadására alkalmas MVM Dome-ban.
