Oggi quasi anticipando la gioia di Pasqua, il Signore Gesù ci svela con la parabola più bella e più amata del Vangelo il Padre misericordioso e il figlio che ritorna, l’irrefrenabile misericordia e l’amore incessante che nutre per ciascuno di noi, la sua paziente e trepida attesa, il suo sguardo che arriva lontano, fino al pascolo dei porci, e diventa potente attrazione che richiama e converte: «Quando era ancora lontano, suo padre lo vide, ebbe compassione, gli corse incontro, gli si gettò al collo e lo baciò». Poi, dopo la recuperata figliolanza, segue la gioiosa celebrazione conviviale, che segna il pieno reinserimento nella casa paterna: «Presto, portate qui il vestito più bello e fateglielo indossare, mettetegli l’anello al dito e i sandali ai piedi. Prendete il vitello grasso, ammazzatelo, mangiamo e facciamo festa, perché questo mio figlio era morto ed è tornato in vita, era perduto ed è stato ritrovato». E cominciarono a far festa. I momenti oscuri vengono così cancellati, a cominciare dal triste: «Padre, dammi la parte di patrimonio che mi spetta». Viene redento il peccato antico e sempre attuale, quello di reclamare una libertà piena e incondizionata, di uscire dalla casa paterna, dall’abbraccio del suo amore, nella facile illusione di poter sperimentare l’ebbrezza di una supremazia che annulla ogni dipendenza. Ci ricorda il momento fatale in cui i nostri progenitori hanno teso la mano per prendere e mangiare il frutto dell’albero proibito. Oggi, come allora, il Signore, buon Pastore, si mette alla ricerca della pecora smarrita ovunque e comunque essa si sia persa. La certezza di non restare mai soli, di essere anzi cercati, fa nascere la speranza e il ripensamento come primo moto verso la conversione: «Io qui muoio di fame! Mi alzerò, andrò da mio padre e gli dirò: Padre, ho peccato verso il Cielo e davanti a te; non sono più degno di essere chiamato tuo figlio». La consapevolezza di aver sperperato malamente i doni preziosi fa sperare di poter essere accolto soltanto come uno dei salariati. Il Signore però non ci vuole come salariati: in forza dello Spirito non siamo più schiavi, ma figli, e se siamo figli siamo anche eredi. Così vuole Dio. Che meraviglia! Dopo il peccato siamo stati accolti, baciati, rivestiti, nutriti e festeggiati: «Se uno è in Cristo, è una nuova creatura; le cose vecchie sono passate; ecco, ne sono nate di nuove», e ancor più: «Ci sarà più gioia in cielo per un peccatore convertito, che per novantanove giusti che non hanno bisogno di conversione». Abbiamo iniziato la Quaresima con un invito: «Convertitevi e credete al Vangelo», ora sappiamo la via alla conversione, resa più facile se confidiamo nella divina misericordia. Facciamo un proposito: Mi alzerò…

Jack Purcell, Managing Partner – Jack is a Managing Partner and member of the Management and Investment Committees at Ridgemont Equity Partners. He is primarily responsible for general management of the firm and additionally focuses on the group's investment activity in the Business & Tech-enabled Services and Industrial Growth sectors, serving on the boards of a number of Ridgemont's portfolio companies.  Jack joined Banc of America Capital Investors, the in-house private equity arm of Bank of America and predecessor partnership to Ridgemont, in 2002 and led investments across a variety of industry sectors including industrials, business services, and healthcare. He worked in various other roles throughout his BACI tenure.  Jack earned his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College.

Crystal Soucy is a Certified Pet Loss Grief & Life Coach, and Owner of Crystal Clear Coaching. Her own grief journey around the loss of her beloved dog Baci in May of 2022, inspired Crystal to pivot her business, and her primary focus is now on helping pet parents process their grief and navigate their new normal. She carefully companions and coaches pet parents through anticipatory grief, loss (recent and not so recent), guilt and trauma. Clinician's can earn ASHA CEU's when they take her course. In addition to her work within the spectrum of speech, Heidi is a trained as a Certified Orofacial Myologist. She has a particular interest in feeding disorders, which can deeply affect children well into their future. Heidi was chosen to be a Main Guest Speaker at the Talk Tools OMD Deconstructed and Feeding Conference. Heidi has become an expert in the filed an has written several courses to teach other clinicians how to treat the picky feeder population. Heidi is extremely invested in her HMS team. Though Heidi has worked in a multitude of settings, including private clinics, hospitals, and schools, she found her home in her own practice, with 2 settings in Florham Park & Park Ridge New Jersey. Her practice has been recognized by NJ Family Magazine, Favorite Kid's Doc since it opened its doors in 2010. Most recently winning “Top Vote Getter for Speech Pathology”.
