In this episode, Dr. Wes Eggett breaks down the 5 Lies of Culture, a concept taught by Ginger Hardage, and explains why these misconceptions can hold businesses—and dental practices—back from reaching their full potential. He dives into how culture isn't just about perks or mission statements on the wall, but about the daily leadership actions that shape a thriving team.Dr. Eggett challenges the idea that culture is someone else's job, emphasizing that every team member, from the front desk to the operatory, plays a role in shaping the patient experience and work environment. He also tackles the fear that empowering employees leads to losing control—when in reality, giving people ownership within a structured framework leads to stronger teams and better results. Finally, he dispels the myth that culture is expensive, offering practical, low-cost strategies that any dental office can use to build engagement, retention, and a more positive workplace. If you've ever wondered why some workplaces thrive while others struggle with morale and turnover, this episode is for you. Tune in to learn how to cultivate a strong, values-driven culture in your dental practice—without waiting for someone else to do it.

David Hutchens: Story Dash David Hutchens helps leaders find and tell their stories. He works with leaders around the world to find, craft, and tell their most urgent stories for the purpose of creating shared meaning, preserving culture, disseminating learning, and speeding change in organizations. He has taught the Storytelling Leader program at some of the most influential organizations — and he's written many books, including the Circle of the 9 Muses and The Leadership Story Deck. He is the co-creator with longtime friend of the show Susan Gerke of the GO Team program. He's also the author of the new book, Story Dash: Find, Develop, and Activate Your Most Valuable Business Stories…In Just a Few Hours. In this conversation, David and I discuss how to find stories that you can use in your organization. We reflect on the reality that we both hear many leaders say to us: “How do I find the right stories?” David then shares the key principles and steps that every leader can take to surface and curate the best stories. Key Points The “Us At Our Best” taxonomy is what it looks like when are are delivering with energy and excellence. A recent Southwest Airlines story is an example of this. Find the area the area of your work where you need to influence the emotional system. Trust stories about small moments. Don't attempt to create an epic drama of huge importance. The best stories are individual incidents that send a bigger message. Formal story mining can be done alone or as team building. Institutionalizing practices like story sharing can help this happen regularly and naturally. When informally collecting stories, listen for time, place, and person as signals that a story is beginning. Podcast!     THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR… leaders, aspiring leaders, managers, and anyone interested in leading effectively and building a successful and organizational culture.    TODAY'S MAIN MESSAGE… Happy employees make customers happy. When customers are happy they return. This is what helps you successfully take care of your shareholders. Too often organizations start backward, focus too much on pleasing shareholders at the expense of everything else. In order to build a successful organization that takes care of its employees and by extension its customers, it is important to address three main points. First, it behooves you to define your company culture and the values that matter to your organization and how you will live those out. Second, it is important to analyze and establish what makes your distinct purpose and value set unique. Third, you must focus on leadership alignment with your values–how are you as a leader, or your organization's leaders living out the values of the company. Successful, servant leadership starts from the top down, and how we act backs-up what we say.    WHAT  I  LOVE  MOST… Speaking to Ginger, who has successfully driven this type of culture at an iconic organization like Southwest, about the power of focusing on your employees. Welcome to the What's Next! podcast with Tiffani Bova.  This week I am honored to have the wonderful Ginger Hardage on the show. Throughout her career, Ginger has received countless awards and honors like the PRWeek Top 50 Power list, PRWeek 50 Most Powerful Women in Public Relations, Texas’ Most Powerful and Influential Women, and “Legendary Communicator” by Southern Methodist University in 2007. Ginger was also inducted into the Public Relations Hall of Fame in 2015 and received the prestigious Legacy Award from the Plank Center for Leadership in 2016. Ginger currently serves as a Trustee on two global boards—Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Arthur Page Society. I am absolutely thrilled to have Ginger Hardage on the What’s Next! Podcast!  THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR… leaders, aspiring leaders, managers, and anyone interested in leading effectively and building a successful and organizational culture.  TODAY’S MAIN MESSAGE… Happy employees make customers happy. Third, you must focus on leadership alignment with your values–how are you as a leader, or your organization’s leaders living out the values of the company. Successful, servant leadership starts from the top down, and how we act backs-up what we say.  WHAT  I  LOVE  MOST… Speaking to Ginger, who has successfully driven this type of culture at an iconic organization like Southwest, about the power of focusing on your employees. Great advice on how to navigate the soft side     Running time: 35:59   Subscribe on iTunes   Find Tiffani on social: Facebook Twitter LinkedIn    Find Ginger on social:  Twitter  Instagram  LinkedIn    Ginger’s Website:  Unstoppable Cultures
