Welcome back to Part 2 of the Summer Series -- last week, we ranked the summer movies of the 70s... this week, we jumped to the first half of the ME Decade -- 1980 to 1984! And gotta say, the harvest is massive. Ranking any movie released from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day weekend in each of 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1984, the film titles are legendary... Indiana Jones and Elliott and Kermit and Carol Anne and WOLVERINE and Shall We Play a Game and on and on and on... we've all got a list with a dozen or more names on it, and because the task is so daunting, what better way to tackle it than to bring on a podcasting legend and friend of the show SHAZBAZZAR!! We talk about where Shaz has been spending his time since the end of TechnoRetro Dads... avoiding Vic's Damone... playing a little IMDB Game... love of Marc Singer... the greatest fan film ever made... the 80s teens propensity to create world destroying technology... and so, so much more. Settle in for one of the best episodes we've done in a long time! Here are the movies discussed, and where to find them at the time of recording: The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 5th Dimension (1984)... Amazon Prime Airplane! (1980)... Jason Cousineau and Eric Fisk remember September 11th, 2001, and how that specific day brought out the best and the worst of The United States and changed the way we saw the world and our own government forever. A Federal Court vindicated Edward Snowden and said that the NSA's monitoring and storing American Citizen's phone data was illegal - a practice that we highly doubt they've stopped. If anything, with modern technology the National Security Agency has probably expanded that program and is actually storing more than just your phone data such as who you called and when... Then we discuss The Sergeant Bespin Memo about man-made flying objects that defy our conventional understanding and application of aeronautics and the implications. And a message from Chris Strompolos about "Raiders! This is a discussion of Terry's favorite movie of all time, the 1966 classic from Ray Dennis Steckler entitled Ratpfink A Boo Boo (not a typo). In doing so, the episode is twice as long as the movie. But this is a podcast so naturally, there is much more to be discussed in this episode including Yoga Hosers, Raiders!: The Story of The Greatest Fan Film Ever Made as well as the music of Ron Haydock and the compilation from Numero Group released this past Record Store Day entitled Los Alamos Grind and of course whatever else can come across Terry's mind. We can be found on Facebook (The Flickering Waves Podcast group page) and Twitter (@flickeringwaves). The podcast can also be found on flickeringwaves.com as well as on iTunes where one can also subscribed and comment on the podcast. Raiders! The Story of the Greatest Fanfilm Ever Made Dass Kinder Indiana Jones lieben ist nachvollziehbar, doch die Passion von drei Kindern in den 80ern ging weiter als das. Sie beschlossen den gesamten Film Raiders of the Lost Ark nachzudrehen. The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made konnte er via Vimeo nachholen. The Mermaid Es ist wieder so weit! The Handmaiden Humor, Erotik, Thriller, Grusel.
The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made überr eben diesen Fanfilm. The Handmaiden ist der neueste Film von Regisseur Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK) und kommt eben deshalb mit hohen Erwartungen. Was waren bisher eure besten /slash Erfahrungen?
