Brits, over and out. It's been another thrilling last couple of days at Roland Garros so why not join Joel and Kim as they take stock on all the Round 4 action in Paris. Jack Draper fell to a red-hot drop shotting maestro Alexander Bublik to bring his campaign to an abrupt end whilst Cam Norrie failed to match his Geneva performance with a straight sets defeat to Novak Djokovic who won his 100th (!) singles match at the French Open.Elsewhere, Iga Swiatek brought herself back from the brink with a hard thought three set win over Elenea Rybakina. Does it prove she is still the Queen of Clay or are there bigger tests to come? And in one of the stories so far, French wildcard No. 361 ranked Lois Boisson pulled off a stunning upset over Jessica Pegula to book her spot in the quarterfinals versus Mirra Andreeva. Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka also cruised through once again without dropping a set. Joel and Kim also give a midway Collect a Set update and it's a historic moment but not for the right reasons…PROPERTY HUB INVESTIf you're serious about property, head to https://propertyhub.net/start to take your first step.SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods.

Drama, delight and double bagels! It can only mean one thing... the French Open Round 1 catch up at Roland Garros with Joel and Kim. It's been a Brit bonanza in Paris, with 6 of 7 sailing into Round 2 – including Emma Raducanu, who now faces defending champ Iga Swiatek in a blockbuster showdown. Cameron Norrie also pulled off the upset of the round, outlasting Medvedev in five, while Jack Draper kept cool to seal a confident 4-set win.Elsewhere, big names like Sinner, Alcaraz, Sabalenka, Gauff, and Djokovic (fresh off his 100th career title!) breezed through – but it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Americans, with Taylor Fritz and Emma Navarro crashing out early. Plus, Vika Azarenka dished out a ruthless double bagel, Caroline Garcia said her final singles farewell at her home Slam, and Roland Garros paid an emotional tribute to the King of Clay himself, Rafael Nadal, with the Big 4 reuniting to honour his legacy.

Madrid ends with Aryna Sabalenka further extending her lead as number one, Casper Ruud grabbing his first Masters, and a lot of discourse around Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, and Naomi Osaka. We've got updates on: Jannik Sinner's hero's welcome in Rome, Bianca Andreescu, Anastasija Sevastova, Tyra Grant, and more. We do a quick review of the strange but sometimes interesting Alcaraz Netflix documentary before wrapping the episode with a dive into the Max Purcell doping suspension, which is way more fascinating than he first let on.  Theme music courtesy of Oleg Fedak from Pixabay 01:45 Penko being Penko 5:05 Madrid: the Iga discourse  9:45 Sabalenka d. Ben and Tumaini (who can also be watched in a video version of this episode on NCR's Patreon) found a moment to meet up between the end of a wild Madrid and Jannik Sinner's big comeback in Rome. We discuss the post-apocalyptic vibes of Madrid, including a detailed rundown from Tumaini on how he navigated the power outage early in the event. Along with discussing the big runs by Casper Ruud, Jack Draper, and Aryna Sabalenka, we discuss what's up with Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek. Then we shift our attention to Rome, where there've been some unideal renovations to some nice Mussolini legacy work, and where Jannik Sinner could pick up right where he left off. Thank you for listening! Our Patreon is back up and running to ensure NCR keeps going and stays ad-free, and we hope you can join in supporting NCR! And we especially thank our GOAT backers: Pam Shriver and J. O'D. And please check out Ben's new writing home, Bounces! And Tumaini's work at The Guardian!

Catherine, David and Matt hopped on YouTube mere moments after the Madrid men's final had finished to talk about the concluding days of the 2025 Madrid Open and What It All Means. Part one - ATP Results. Part two - WTA Results (from 37m50s). Is Aryna Sabalenka the favourite for Roland Garros after her victory in Madrid? The answer to that probably depends on Iga Swiatek. We discuss her shockingly one-sided defeat to Coco Gauff in the semi-finals and how we read this concerning trend. Part three (from 60m). Naomi Osaka wins a WTA 125 title on clay and we look ahead to the return of Jannik Sinner in Rome. Buy tickets for Tennis Podcast Live in London on Thursday 26th June at Shoreditch Town Hall.
