Esmaspäeval algavad New Yorgis USA lahtised tennisemeistrivõistlused. Aasta viimase suure slämmi turniiri eelvaate saates on saatejuhtide Gunnar Leheste ja Riho Kalluse külaliseks teenekas tennisetreener Harri Neppi. Hier wurden am Mittwoch die letzten vier Halbfinalistinnen und Halbfinalisten gesucht. Der Tag begann mit den Damen und einem Sieg von Danielle Collins gegen Alize Cornet. Stark mit ihrem ersten Aufschlag machte Collins so viel Druck, dass sich Cornets Defensivfähigkeiten nie ganz entfalten konnten. Zwar gab es nicht so viel Drama wie vielleicht erwartet werden konnte, doch konnte Cornet einen ersten Satz der ihr bei 1:4 schon früh zwischen den Fingern zu zerrinnen schien noch in die Verlängerung bringen.
