This week on the show, I'm sharing the second part of my Bali retreat debrief.  I'm thrilled to have the brilliant Claire Obeid, our spiritual guide joining me for a debrief on the spiritual and energetic side of the experience.  Our intention with this conversation is to pass on some of the greatest lessons and insights from the retreat, so that you get to learn from it too… and hopefully help you feel seen for the challenges you may be experiencing yourself.  In our conversation, we cover: What her role was on the retreat What “space holding” is, and how it's rare for us to have spaceholders in our lives Her Miracle Mornings, and how she creates her sessions  Why the yoga she teaches is very different to what guests had experienced before The most common challenges and blocks that we observed in the group  How retreats can be a boundary in themselves The genius (and hilarious) motto we both love when it comes to boundaries The difference between guests on Day 1 and Day 6 (plus the one I didn't expect!) The number 1 practice she suggests for a home practice - though she cheated and gave 2… You can connect with Claire via her website - claireobeid.com - or Instagram - @claireobeid_.  I hope you enjoy today's episode, and that you get lots of nuggets from it - whether you're planning a self-guided retreat, or a retreat with me or someone else. I'm hosting my next Bail retreat from 27th May-1st June 2024.  You can find out more and book your spot right here: lorrainemurphy.com.au/retreat-2024 Stand by for Part 3 of this mini-series next week…  Next up is our healer-in-residence, Jimmy Doyle - one of my most popular past guests is back! Claire Obeid is a truly special soul. Her incarnation in this lifetime I know is at least in part - to serve others on their spiritual path. In other words…she is a bonafide modern Priestess and space holder - with a particular love for the lineage and teachings of Mary Magdalene. In this episode Claire potently shares how she believes we are each our own medicine woman, healer and remedy. It is a sharing that is opening, empowering and sprinkled with more than a bit of Claire magick. Enjoy this beautiful episode ahead.    Website - https://claireobeid.com  Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/claireobeid_/ Facebook -  https://www.facebook.com/ClaireObeidRivera

When Dania al-Obeid went to the protest on Clapham Common in London, she was handcuffed and charged. Now she is suing the police – and on a mission to ensure women like her get justice.”At the time, I didn't feel like I could fight it, I felt like shrinking and taking up less space. I started to blame myself for ever speaking up. It brought back some of the terrible experiences in my past, and took me to a dark place, where I didn't think my voice mattered, or that I even had a right to speak. However, I'm extremely lucky to have a legal team of amazing women who told me my rights and said what was happening was unlawful. That's why I eventually got the strength to push back.I want every person in the same boat to know their rights and have the ability to push back and claim their space.Today, I stand tall as a survivor and say yes, I am a victim of abuse, Sarah Everard is a victim of abuse, along with so many others who are victims of abuse. We demand the space to be angry, sad, devastated. We demand the space to call for change. We will not back down in asserting and protecting our human rights and we will hold those abusing their power accountable.” https://www.sheprotectsherself.org/ Sign up for UPFRONT's email newsletter hereClick here to sign up for Bond 7Follow Lauren and UPFRONT:Twitter: twitter.com/_laurencurrie_Instagram: instagram.com/_laurencurrie_ and instagram.com/upfrontglobalLinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/laurencurrie/ Hosted on Acast. Thompson (9-5) didn’t walk a batter for the second time in three starts while scattering five hits over six innings. Luke Voit hit a homer off Thompson with one out in the sixth to end Thompson’s shutout bid. Velázquez’s homer highlighted the first three-hit game of his career. Anibal Sanchez (0-5) took the loss. The Cubs won for the third time in four games. The Nationals dropped their sixth straight game and have been outscored 51-20 in that span. Heyward, who turns 33 on Tuesday, signed an eight-year, $184 million contract before the 2016 season but has batted only .245 with 62 home runs in seven seasons with the Cubs. He is batting .204 with one home run and 10 RBIs in 137 at-bats this year and has been on the 10-day injured list since June 27 because of right knee inflammation. Heyward was a regular on the 2016 Cubs team that won the World Series and famously rallied teammates with an inspirational pep talk during a rain delay late in Game 7 at Cleveland. WNBA – Women’s National Basketball Association Tonight Seattle Storm at Chicago Sky, 8:00 p.m. NFL – Lions lose 4th player to retirement this summer Detroit Lions rookie offensive tackle Zein Obeid has retired, the fourth player to end his career with the team in two months. Lions coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Kendall Lamm was signed to fill Obeid’s roster spot. Obeid, who played at Ferris State, was an undrafted rookie as were recent retirees Jermaine Waller, a defensive back from Virginia Tech, and Corey Sutton, a former Appalachian State receiver. Defensive tackle John Penisini retired in late July after starting 12 games as a sixth-round pick in 2020 and playing in 16 games as a reserve last year. NFL – NFL: Rodgers’ use of ayahuasca didn’t violate drug policy Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ use of the hallucinogenic drink ayahuasca during an offseason retreat isn’t considered a violation of the NFL’s drug policy. Rodgers discussed on “The Aubrey Marcus Podcast” last week how he went on an ayahuasca retreat to Peru in 2020. Ayahuasca is defined as a psychoactive beverage native to South America and is often used for religious, ritualistic or medicinal purposes. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says it wouldn’t have triggered a positive test result on either the substance abuse or performance-enhancing substance policies collectively bargained by the NFL and its players’ association. NBA – AP source: Durant reiterates desire to be traded by Brooklyn Kevin Durant has again told Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai that he wants to be traded. He’s reiterating a request he first made nearly six weeks ago. That’s according to a person with knowledge of the matter who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Monday night. That person says Durant also told Tsai that he has concerns about the Nets’ direction under coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks. The Athletic first reported the details of the latest meeting between Tsai and Durant. Tsai tweeted Monday night that he supports the team’s front office and coaching staff. Golf – PGA/LIV – PGA Tour says players knew consequences of joining LIV Golf The PGA Tour is asking a federal judge not to allow three suspended players from LIV Golf to take part in the FedEx Cup playoffs, the tour’s lucrative postseason. Talor Gooch, Matt Jones and Hudson Swafford are seeking a temporary restraining order in federal court in California. A hearing is set for Tuesday. The first FedEx Cup playoff event starts Thursday in Tennessee. The tour says in an opposition filing that the LIV players knew they were ineligible for the postseason two months ago and are just now filing for an emergency stay. Tennis – Serena Williams earns first win of season in Toronto Serena Williams earned her first win in more than a year by beating Nuria Parrizas-Diaz 6-3, 6-4 at the women’s National Bank Open. It’s just the second tournament of the season for the 40-year-old Williams, who returned to competition at Wimbledon just over a month ago. The 23-time Grand Slam champion fell in the first round to Harmony Tan in three sets at the All England Club. Before then, she last competed at the 2021 Wimbledon tournament, where she retired in the middle of her first match due to a torn hamstring. It was Williams’ first victory since the 2021 French Open. Tennis – Russian tennis players collect 3 titles at US Open tuneups It’s been quite a week for Russia’s professional tennis players. There were four WTA and ATP tournaments — and Russians earned three of those titles. One of them, Liudmila Samsonova, thinks it might not be merely a coincidence that this recent run of success for her, Daria Kasatkina and Daniil Medvedev comes shortly after they were banned from competing at Wimbledon because of their country’s invasion of, and ongoing war in, Ukraine. Samsonova beat Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the Citi Open in Washington on Sunday. That came a day after Medvedev won the championship at Los Cabos, Mexico, and several hours before Kasatkina won a title in California. All three are hard-court tuneups for the U.S. Open. NCAAFB – Oklahoma’s Gundy out after saying ‘racially charged’ word A day after Oklahoma assistant head football coach Cale Gundy announced his resignation, the school said Gundy uttered what it called a racially charged word multiple times during a film session last week. Gundy had been with the program as an assistant since 1999. He announced his resignation Sunday in a social media post, and the school confirmed it with a statement shortly thereafter. Oklahoma sent out another statement on Monday giving more details about the incident. NCAAFB – Bama gets top spot in preseason coaches’ poll Alabama is No. 1 in the preseason USA Today coaches’ poll, with Ohio State second and defending national champion Georgia third. The Associated Press preseason Top 25 will be released Aug. 15. The Crimson Tide received 54 first-place votes from a panel of 66 major college football coaches. The Buckeyes received five first-place votes and the Bulldogs got six. No. 18 Texas also received a first-place vote. NCAABKB – Equal pay for officials at men’s and women’s tournaments The NCAA earned praise last year when it agreed to pay referees at its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments equally. The gesture only cost about $100,000, a tiny fraction of the roughly $900 million networks pay annually to broadcast March Madness. Now, as the NCAA examines various disparities across men’s and women’s sports, pressure is rising to also pay referees equally during the regular season. Two Division I conferences told The Associated Press they plan to equalize pay, and another is considering it. Others are resisting change, even though the impact on their budgets would be negligible. MILB – Midwest League Baseball Last Night No games last night Tonight Peoria Chiefs at Great Lakes Loons, 7:05 p.m. Lansing Lugnuts at Dayton Dragons, 7:05 p.m. West Michigan Whitecaps at Beloit Sky Carp, 7:35 p.m. South Bend Cubs at Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 7:40 p.m.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

MLB – Major League Baseball Yesterday Chicago Cubs 6, Washington Nationals 3 White Sox and Tigers were off Cubs 6, Nationals 3 – Thompson, Velázquez, Morel power Cubs past Nationals 6-3 Keegan Thompson pitched six effective innings, rookies Nelson Velázquez and Christopher Morel homered in the third inning, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 6-3. Today Chicago White Sox (Lynn 2-4) at Kansas City (TBD), 4:10 p.m. – Game 1 Chicago White Sox (TBD) at Kansas City (TBD), 7:40 p.m. – Game 2 Cleveland (Bieber 6-6) at Detroit (Alexander 2-5), 7:10 p.m.                WSJM/WCSY 6:50 Washington (Espino 0-4) at Chicago Cubs (Stroman 3-5), 8:05 p.m. MLB – Cubs to cut OF Jason Heyward after the season The Chicago Cubs will cut ties with right fielder Jason Heyward after this season, ending one of baseball’s most expensive and unproductive free-agent signings with a year left on his contract. This month I'm focusing on settling my new Bold Darling group in together, so I'm taking a few weeks off creating new episodes for the podcast. But… I can still be in your ears!!  Instead I'm sharing interviews that I've done on other friend's podcasts. First up is my conversation with Claire Obeid for her show, Woman Awake.  To find out more about Claire, go to her website - claireobeid.com or follow her on Instagram - @claireobeid_.  Claire says:  In today's episode, I invite Lorraine Murphy back onto the podcast to talk about a central theme of her new book, Step Into You, which is energy management.   Needing to create her own 'soft place to land' to go on her own deep healing journey and get clear on what she wanted to create in her life, Lorraine's latest book is about that very journey and how she went about finding a more sustainable way to do business and life by really learning how to manage her energy. We talk about: Lorraine's own perspective on what energy is and why learning to manage our energy over our time is important The importance of creating a bespoke energy management plan and giving ourselves permission to follow it Energy management filtered through both motherhood and a more feminine lens The impact of using major and minor energy boosts for both major and minor energy leaks The issues with trying to 'balance ' our lives What it really looks like to be in alignment and be intentional about how can support ourself best And what Lorraine came to understand about working with the mind and body and ourselves as unique energy beings, whilst we worked together at her Noosa retreat in 2021 See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hi beautiful woman, This is episode fourteen with Claire Obeid. Sharing this beautiful woman with you feels very special to me – in fact, I have had every intention of having Claire apart of the show right from the beginning – however, Claire is my personal mentor, my safe space to land, the woman who helps me navigate my big feelings, my cycles and seasons, my beliefs – my heart. She is a woman I have opened up too – wide, wide open. She has carried me with such grace and humility and perfect amount of sass over the past 12 months, she guides me to depths I wasn't even sure I could go, she is real, honest and just really, really bloody likeable. After each session with Claire, I cannot help but send a message saying – how absolutely ridiculously lucky I feel to have her in my life. Now today, I feel ready to share her with you. Claire has such a potent and relevant and deeply embodiment voice when it comes to motherhood – and our role as women within in. She isn't afraid of the shadows, in fact she relishes in them knowing it is necessary and required on a way to good stuff. This conversation is deep, spiritual and multi layered. And unlike any I have had here on the show. A sweet balm for mothers traversing the beautiful train of womanhood – along their children.   Claire Obeid is a Somatic Life Coach, Energy Medicine Practitioner and Emotional Freedom Alchemist.Claire is passionate about the journey of awakening and embodiment through body-centred energy medicine, consciousness practices, shadow work, cultivating emotional freedom, deep mind-body-soul healing and growth.Claire's playground is the subconscious mind, the soma (body), the breath, spirit, soul and the heart that resides within. She sees herself as a loving conduit and bridge for individuals to reach into and touch the very place within that needs attention and that is calling out for more.Just as a midwife holds space for and guides birthing women through one of the most powerful and soul-changing transitions, the dance Claire does within her private mentorship, group sessions and workshops is much the same. She is here to midwife your personal awakening; to hold space as a guide, illuminator, healer, cheerleader and sacred container, through your own mental, emotional, physical, energetic and spiritual growth. It is my absolute pleasure to welcome my beautiful friend Claire Obeid to Womanhood.

How To Connect With Your Divine Feminine feat. Claire Obeid

The theme for this season is “connection” - and this theme will come to life in a different way each week of this season. Myself and my special guests will be diving into mindset, success, wellbeing and relationships as we journey into a different facet of "connection" in each episode. Given how much the masculine vs feminine energy topic has come up in my work - and especially on my recent Noosa retreat - I'm keen to explore how women have become disconnected with their divine feminine... and how they can reconnect with it. Happily, I have the perfect person to dive into this area with: Claire Obeid.  Claire and I first met through our PR career 12 years ago and she has since gone on to be a multi-faceted spiritual guru - she's a life coach who also teaches yoga, meditation, breathwork, EFT (aka tapping), somatic therapy… and a lot more!  I adore speaking to and working with Claire, and she has so much gold to share in this episode. In our conversation, we share:  What the "divine feminine" (and "divine masculine") actually means How to tell if we're disconnected from our divine feminine  The challenges women experience when they're feeling disconnected from their divine feminine  What Claire sees as the "tipping point" for women to address this disconnection within themselves What she would say to women who may feel unsafe being more in their feminine, or they may not feel it's appropriate for them (e.g: if they're in very masculine roles)  The practices Claire recommends to help women connect back in with their divine feminine How some practices that we think are very feminine - eg: yoga - can actually be quite masculine (this was an eye-opener for me!) How women can retain their femininity in the face of the sometimes endless demands of parenting The role our romantic relationships play in helping us access that divine feminine (speaking to heterosexual relationships) The advice she would give to parents of girls, and helping to guide them on this journey I'm so happy we get to bring you this conversation this week - thank you Claire for sharing so much of your magic with us.  You can find Claire at claireobeid.com, on Facebook and on Instagram as @claireobeid_.
