Humility is the key that opens the door to your greater good, because humility is trusting your intuition enough to act on it. Criticizing yourself is not loving yourself because our inner belief becomes our outer experience and people take us at our own valuation. So let's join in fasting from self-criticism and start feasting on prosperous thinking. Stop making excessive demands upon yourself. Spend your time appreciating the good in your life. Success begins when we say kind things to ourselves. We honor God by loving ourselves. On this episode, Darrell and Ed point to the one infinite principle: the law of cause and effect. Homo Swipiens

If you are not speaking French and can't understand the two first episodes, I would invite you to listen the episode of Adélaïde on Unmatch me now before listening to this one to understand the context. This series “Libérez la parole” ("Freed the speech"), all started when I heard Adelaïde's testimony on the 118 episode of Unmatch me Now "KEEP THE FU$%ING CONDOM". Adelaide is a victim of stealthing, which means that her sexual partner took the condom off without our consent. She filled in a complaint. The state attorney didn't even pursue the case, because of the lack of proof. She talked on my podcast, and then other girls talked about their own experience with sexual assaults when they had to face the police, and then the justice. The charges were dropped for all of them. After hearing all these testimonies, I wanted to understand the spirit of the law in Germany regarding penalisation of sexual violences. Sexual assaults and violences are difficult to penalise because most of the time it happens between two peoples, without any witness. But not only. There is also a deep rooted system belief, that the victim is to blame. She must have done something. She is probably exaggerating, perhaps even lying. I won't say more. I will just invite you to listen to Lisa Schmidt and Céline Feldmann, two experts in sexual and rape law in Germany. !TW! We are going to talk about sexual violences. Only listen if you feel comfortable enough with this topic. Changing your self-doubt to self-love would help a lot in discovering your strengths and becoming a better woman leader. For you to become a better leader, start by opening yourself to different interactions and learn to ask for help from others, whether as a referral for work or awards or for your personal life. Lisa Schmidt is a seasoned coach and leadership development expert. She is keenly interested in what fosters and what hinders personal and professional change and transition. Her primary area of practice is in supporting senior leaders in speaking truth and acting with courage as they craft compelling, powerful organizational cultures. For the past 6 weeks our church has looked at the topics of fear, grief & sadness and shame. The summer of bummer. Ok, I don't think those emotions are a bummer, but it definitely causes us to access a place that many of us put effort towards avoiding. And these are conversations that are desperately needed in the church, because they aren't likely to come up otherwise in our culture. But this Sunday we're going to be exploring the tension we hold in the midst of tough emotions. We're going to be looking at the nature of hope. Hope is a popular word in the Christian world, and for good reason. The Jesus narrative is all about hope in the face of suffering and injustice. That the difficulty of the current situation is not the forever reality. It was this hope that inspired the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and is resonant throughout his "I Have a Dream" speech. What we want to explore is the complexity of hope and how to hold it in tension instead of a using it to avoid hard times. Hope is never meant to mask pain, but rather give us the strength to be in the pain. Take a listen to a phenomenal woman willing to share her story of pain and the promise of hope she's been able to live into. I loved this conversation with Lisa Schmidt (aka The Sober Hipster)

When it comes to your sobriety, I know you want to be the best version of yourself. The problem is, you may think you can get sober without any help and that can leave you feeling anxious and like you are living a lie. Lisa Schmidt is The Sober Hipster. And through her own recovery process she realized the power of telling her story. Our stories aren't only of addiction and recovery, but all of our stories include trauma, fear, shame, anxiety, isolation, and self-loathing. Lisa created The Story Box- a powerful tool that helps you own your story and heal from all the stuff that drags us into addiction. Lisa is authentic and kind, smart and powerful, and we shared an amazing conversation about addiction recovery, trauma and healing. I believe you are worthy of living an incredible sober life. And Lisa is proof that it is possible. This is one of my favorite conversations I've ever had on my podcast and I could easily have spent another 3 hours sharing life and experience with her. I hope you love this episode as much as I do! You CAN live an amazing sober life, and if you want additional support I can help. Click the link below for coaching/mentorship options.

As most of you know, June is Pride month. Why June? Well, here is a very concise primer for you. On June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York City's Greenwich Village, but the bar patrons weren’t having it and they fought back. This incident, known as the Stonewall Riots, marks the beginning of the gay rights movement in the United States. The activist Brenda Howard organized a march and some other events to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall riots and…well, the rest is history. So, Happy Pride to all of my LGBTQ friends. I love you all.  I wanted to have my guest today on the show during the month of June because she is amazing, she is a huge damn giver, and she is part of the LGBTQ community. Today, you’ll get to hear my conversation with Lisa Schmidt. Lisa and her wife live in Portland, Oregon. Lisa, among many other things, has started a community called The Sober Hipster. Everything she does stems from these five words: You Matter. Your Story Matters.  Lisa created the Recovery Story Box, the Pride Story Box, and the Body Image Story Box to help you begin your journey of art therapy today. Learn more about these boxes and purchase one for you, your friend, or your family member today!  And make sure to follow Lisa on Instagram! You'll be encouraged. She and her husband started a program to help Californians lower energy bills without spending much money upfront. Usually, people think of big home upgrades to cut electric bills, but Lisa tells us that there's a much easier and cheaper way with $25 devices. The trick is to figure out where to put them in your home. In the past 10 years, she worked with the State of California and utility companies to pay for a professional service that does just that. The program is called P4P or "Pay for Performance." Her professional service paid for by the government to lower energy bills is called HomeIntel.
