“Is your wife setting up playdates for you? If so… it might be time to reclaim your manhood.” In this bold and hilarious episode of The JB and Sandy Show, the crew dives into the trending term “man-keeping”—a phenomenon where women take on the emotional and social labor for the men in their lives. From organizing their friendships to coaching them through feelings, Tricia, JB, and Sandy unpack why this dynamic is exhausting for women and unattractive to boot. Sandy shares his “bottle it up and blow once a year” emotional strategy, while JB reflects on the importance of guy time and self-sufficiency. The conversation turns to masculinity, DIY skills, and why YouTube tutorials and Home Depot wisdom are essential tools for modern men. Then, the show shifts gears to Austin's evolving urban landscape, including permanent barriers on 6th Street and “living streets” designed for pedestrians. The crew debates aesthetics, safety, and the impact on local businesses. Finally, it's all about football: Texas is ranked #1 in the preseason poll, and the season opener against Ohio State is already stirring nerves. Sandy offers unconventional self-defense tips for fans traveling to Columbus—including chicken wings as a distraction tactic.Key Moments:
CBS Sports' Shehan Jeyarajah joins 365 Sports to break down Texas Tech's aggressive approach to NIL and recruiting, including multi-year contracts for high school athletes. He explains how their long-term strategy could set them apart—or backfire. The SEC buried the Big Ten in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Fire up the preseason chants of superiority, but that will mean squat come College Football Playoff selection time. In fact, the SEC's poll takeover could be a sign of a playoff path filled with landmines, while Big Ten frontrunners Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon and Illinois enjoy cleaner routes to the postseason. On today's episode, hosts Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams react to the SEC's poll blitz and explain why this should be viewed cautiously for the conference's playoff contenders. They also point to two overrated SEC teams, plus an unranked team that they'd place in the top 25. And they explain why one Big Ten team faces just as much pressure to produce a championship as No. 1 Texas. Today we have a special double episode of From the Pasture with Hired Hand. We talk with Travis Johnson from in the sunny panhandle of Florida where he started raising Texas Longhorns a few years ago at his ranch, LTJ Longhorns. In the first episode, Travis shares how some long grass turned into an introduction to Terry King, purchasing his first longhorns & traveling to over a dozen sales &/or futurities in the first year. From there, he has grown his herd to 50+ head. The advice that has been given to him the most and the advice he would give other new breeders is to be patient; patience is the key to growing a good herd you'll be proud of. Not only did Travis jump in feet first to the Longhorn breed, he also joined SETLA (Southeast Texas Longhorn Association), the area TLBAA affiliate. In the second part of today's episode, he shares how he became involved in SETLA and the importance & benefits of being an involved member in your area longhorn affiliate. Travis is passionate about the herd, the SETLA organization and grateful for the mentoring he has received from Jimmy Jones, Terry King and many others. Fun fact, he's also passionate about little dessert cakes and nutter butters.
