The SEC recruiting races heat up, with Texas adding multiple big-time commitments, including elite cornerback John Meredith, while the Longhorns' rival, the Texas A&M Aggies, continuing their build of the nation's No. 1 recruiting class. LSU makes a major push to join the top 10 classes in the land, and there's a bevy of activity across the league. Host Chris Gordy and recruiting analyst Brian Smith break down the most significant SEC commitments, surprising flips like Auburn running back Kingston Miles to Mizzou, and the growing NIL war shaping the conference's future. They highlight rising programs—including Florida's trench-focused class and Eli Drinkwitz's Missouri transformation—while sounding alarms over Alabama's post-Saban struggles, with the Crimson Tide ranked dead last in SEC recruiting. Which undecided stars could shift the balance before signing day, and can Alabama recover? Everydayer Club If you never miss an episode, it's time to make it official. Texas A&M and Oklahoma shake up the SEC recruiting landscape, seizing the top spots, while Alabama plummets to an unexpected last place—raising alarm bells across college football. Are the days of Crimson Tide dominance fading, or will Kalen DeBoer's new approach pay off? Brian Smith examines key trends behind Florida's rapid rise under John Sumrall, the impressive Texas class, how Georgia is slowly rising, and the high-stakes NIL arms race fueling roster building. Top storylines include Texas A&M's blue-chip surge, the Longhorns' and Gators' aggressive recruiting moves, and whether Alabama's smaller, less star-studded class signals a long-term power shift. The episode also spotlights Auburn's hot streak, the impact of five-star defensive line recruits across the SEC, and in-depth listener Q&A on NIL payout strategies and Georgia's demanding football schedule. Who's next to commit, and will the NIL era create a new SEC hierarchy? Everydayer Club If you never miss an episode, it's time to make it official. The Texas Longhorns' softball may have battled back from the loser's bracket to reach the final's series, but they didn't need an extra game to top Texas Tech to hoist the National Championship trophy. Teagan Kavan was her usual Oklahoma City self, becoming the first player to earn WCWS Most Outstanding Player for a second time for her efforts from the circle, while the Longhorns' offense kept things easy for her. On the other diamond, the Texas men advanced to Omaha for the 39th time, after taking care of business against Oregon. The first game was an offensive explosion for Texas, but the pitching set the pace and ensured the Longhorns took the trip to the MCWS.
Penn State hired Matt Campbell and basically transplanted Iowa State to Happy Valley — and that's just the start of the storylines in this episode. We're breaking down my power-rated teams #10 through #6: Penn State, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas, with win total picks for every single one. What we cover:Penn State – Matt Campbell's Iowa State transplant experiment, Rocco Becht's advantages as a transfer QB, defensive line concerns, and why 8.5 is a no-betTexas A&M – Marcel Reed's ceiling, a potentially elite receiver room with Isaiah Horton, the massive offensive line question marks, and why I'm leaning over 8.5Alabama – The Kalen DeBoer QB battle between Austin Mack and Keelon Russell, the alarming 3.4 YPC from last season, secondary strength vs. linebacker depth concernsGeorgia – Can Gunner Stockton take the Bulldogs from playoff team to national champion? A case for 10+ wins despite a thin receiver room and a dead-last SEC pass rushTexas – Arch Manning's full-season upside, Cam Coleman's massive portal impact, Will Muschamp's aggressive new defense, and a 12-0 ceiling that's hard to ignoreThese are five of the most fascinating rosters in college football, and every single one has a real flaw hiding behind the hype. How Soon Is Too Soon? How quickly can someone move on… before it starts to feel unbelievable? That question sparks one of the most jaw-dropping and emotionally charged episodes of The JB and Sandy Show yet—where “Free Phones” turns into a reveal of real-life stories that are equal parts shocking, heartbreaking, and unforgettable. Listeners call in with their own experiences after JB, Sandy, and Tricia dive into a headline about a spouse remarrying just months after a partner's death. What follows is a cascade of stories that leave even the hosts stunned. One moment that hits especially hard: “Ten days after she passed away… he announced he was in love with her best friend.” It's the kind of revelation that stops the conversation cold—and opens the door to a deeper discussion about grief, timing, and what feels “too soon.” But this episode isn't just emotional—it's packed with the unexpected moments and humor listeners love. From a caller who spends an hour and a half decompressing in his truck before work to a fascinating peek into crime lab analysis from a state worker counting down the days to retirement, “Free Phones” delivers authentic, unscripted connection. And then—because this is The JB and Sandy Show—the tone shifts in the best way. The team celebrates Longhorn softball with one of the wildest superstitions you've ever heard: A player who eats a ladybug before games for good luck… and then hits home runs. Yes, really. And yes, it's working.Sports, nostalgia, and a little friendly betting round out the hour, including a heated (and pricey) look at NBA Finals tickets and Sandy's no-emotion approach to wagering: “I'm a business guy… I don't put any emotion into these decisions.” It's a rollercoaster episode—moving from deeply personal to laugh-out-loud funny, with the kind of genuine moments you can't script and won't forget. Why You Should Listen Real listener stories that will leave you speechless Honest conversations about love, loss, and moving on Off-the-wall sports superstitions that actually work Classic JB & Sandy humor, chemistry, and surprises If this episode made you think, laugh, or gasp out loud—don't keep it to yourself.
