Success often boils down to one simple question: Are you willing to take the stairs while others look for the escalator? Building a thriving real estate career, growing your personal brand, and achieving true success demands effort most people aren't willing to put in. The average person chooses the easier path, hoping for shortcuts. But successful agents and investors understand that taking the stairs—doing the hard things others avoid—is what sets them apart. In today's crowded real estate market, being "just another agent" or investor won't cut it. Clients don't choose services; they choose you. A strong personal brand makes you their first choice, builds trust, and creates opportunities others never see. Without it, you're leaving deals, relationships, and income on the table. New York Times bestselling author of Take The Stairs, Hall of Fame speaker, and Co-Founder of Brand Builders Group, Rory Vaden joins me to talk about the importance of building a personal brand, why it's crucial to lock in on the one problem you can solve and the one audience you can speak to. Successful people do things that most people aren't willing to do. -Rory Vaden Things You'll Learn In This Episode Stairs vs. escalators Success often requires taking the harder path, like choosing the stairs over the escalator, to build discipline and resilience. What “stairs” could lead to greater growth if you chose them over the easier route? Trust before transaction Building trust and serving your immediate clients is more valuable than chasing popularity. How can focusing on trust over followers improve success especially in real estate? The fastest path to warm leads Referrals and presentations are powerful tools for quickly building trust and generating leads in real estate. Welcome back to the Hello Monday Master Class! We've distilled the essence of hundreds of conversations into five essential rules that will empower you to thrive in an ever-changing professional landscape. It's week two, and our lesson is simple, but not at all easy: We're talking about trusting ourselves. From the moment we're born, the outside world will infuse doubt within us, no matter who we are or what we want to achieve. Many of us will spend a lot of time worrying way too much about what other people think—and we'll be so busy doing that, that we won't realize that everyone else is also doing it. Perhaps counterintuitively, once we learn that most people feel a similar way, we can just begin to let go of the angst altogether. In this second episode of the Hello Monday Master Class, we reach back into the archives to learn from actress, producer, and podcaster Anna Faris (Mom, The House Bunny, Anna Faris is Unqualified) and bestselling author, speaker, and coach Luvvie Ajayi Jones (Professional Troublemaker: The Fear-Fighter Manual; Rising Troublemaker: A Fear-Fighter Manual for Teens; and I'm Judging You: The Do-Better Manual). We'll talk about the confidence-inducing power of sharing our best ideas over and over again, and how to navigate the pitfalls of likability. After you listen, collaborate on this week's exercise in the free Hello Monday Group on LinkedIn. Join the Hello Monday Group by clicking here. Listen to Anna's full episode of Hello Monday here. One way to manage summer stress is to pair fun and adventure with predictability. This might be as simple as laying out your kids' favorite swimsuits the night before a big beach day…but it's also knowing those suits will hold up for your kids all summer long. That's why Hanna Andersson's swimwear is a go-to in Dr. Becky's family. Their fabric is fast-drying (less complaints of “Ugh I'm still wet!”), holds its shape without stretching (no more sagging suits), and blocks 97% of harmful UVA/UVB rays (less guilt about being in the sun!). And this year, they have the cutest selection of prints—meaning they'll become quick favorites for your kids, too. Get 25% off your order with code GOODINSIDE at hannaandersson.com.

Thinking about Little Luvvie. The 5-year old me who rocked gold chains, red lipstick and ruffles on her birthday and told people exactly what she wanted. The kid whose favorite phrase was “that's not fair!” The tiny rebel who would get in trouble for her mouth, and was willing to as long as she knew it was what felt right. I wrote her a letter, of all I hope she knows and remembers. The Little Troublemaker. I was her. I am her. You might be her. You might be raising your own. Well, I wrote LITTLE TROUBLEMAKER MAKES A MESS for her. The author, professor and public speaker describes how tackling fears and accepting failures has changed her life—in the best possible way. But Ashley cringes at the word failure, so Luvvie offers a new perspective on how shortcomings can create “a better version of you” in the long run, opening up opportunities for growth. Luvvie and Ashley get into why one of the best cures for self doubt is affirming the trust others have in you when they're “loaning their power” to you. One of Luvvie's biggest secrets to success is leaning on her tribe for support and asking others for help. She says doing so “is life's best cheat code.” She encourages Ashley and others not to “hoard our dreams” because you never know who has the keys to doors to achieve your goals.

Career decisions can be daunting. The right choice is often unclear, and the trade offs uncertain. Should you stay in your current role or go look for something new? Is it in your best interest to move cities and re locate or double down on your current market? These big decisions can leave us paralyzed. And yet, one of the ways to break through that paralysis is by soliciting the opinions of others. As the legendary troublemaker, author and blogger, Luvvie Ajayi Jones says, "the best decisions are not counsel decisions. Career and life choices are bet made by you and you alone." However, by sourcing a broad range of career advice, what you end up with is a constellation of possibilities through which to draw from. This is a collection of perspectives around career strategy and building the living and life you want for yourself.
