After a long journey, as both Italian andSwiss railways decided that this Sunday was the best day for network and equipment maintenance, I arrived in Geneva after dusk. On Monday 17th ofMarch at 9 o' clock, as sharp as a Swiss clock, the FIATA Headquarters' meeting began with a rather ambitious programme, harbouring the desire to “provide participants with key market trends and trade developments as well as an external outlook in corridors and logistics in an uncertain environment.”Michael McKay kicked the ball with some historical and cultural background for the city of Geneva, a crossroad for the world of trade and an international meeting magnet: 5,000 conferences annually, half a million delegates, 43 high level international organizations based in Geneva . . . shall we name them all? One for all: the Red Cross/Red Crescent. Turgut Erkeskin President Turgut Erkeskin welcomed 200+ delegates at FIATA's HQ from 51 countries: “this year, speakers and moderators have been invited from all over the world” to animate several sessions. Among the achievements of FIATA, Turgut mentioned the excellent work with many internationalorganizations, theachievements in FIATA's digital policy and risk and insurance and cybersecurity policies. He also gave account of a new regional engagement programme, which – for the first time this year – will see FIATA organizing regional meetings in all regions, starting with Zanzibar, then India, Brazil and Prague in the EU. “FIATA remains focused on trade facilitation,” declared Turgut.

Join me for My Achill Island Distillery Chat with Seán & Michael McKay. I recently visited this picturesque island distillery in beautiful county Mayo, just off the west coast of Ireland, by bridge. Seán and Michael McKay are brothers. They are carrying on the legacy of their father who founded the distillery originally and they are genuinely doing their father's legacy a massive justice. They have an amazing operation at Achill Island Distillery. 2 x 5000ltr pot stills, fed by 7 fermenters, keep this a 7 day operating distillery. They have vast warehouses with 5yr old whiskey stock, that tastes amazing. This is a little gem of a distillery that will be a major part of the Irish whiskey landscape going forward. I was very impressed....... A Miraculous Recovery Join us on this heartfelt episode as we dive into a season of gratitude and miracles! Our special guest, Dr. Michael McKay, Assistant Professor of Biblical Theology, and his wife, Lee-Ann, share their riveting life-threatening journey that brings a heartfelt appreciation and thankfulness to the McKay family. Picture a chill on a Saturday morning in June — Michael thought it was just the usual morning creaks and groans. Little did he know he was on the verge of a journey that could claim his life. Suddenly, his left leg went numb, and he needed to slide down the steps from his second-floor to get help from Lee-Ann. Off they zoomed to Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia, Ohio, suspecting Michael had experienced a stroke. However, the CT chest scan revealed a much scarier plotline — a dissected aorta and a quick trip by ambulance to Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio, for emergency surgery. During the 10-hour surgery that was performed by Dr. Peter Pavlina and his dream team of medical professionals, Michael survived the medical odds and survived the surgery. As family and friends prayed for Michael and his family, he was making a triumphant recovery, that two months later would see him return to the classroom at Cedarville University. In his own words, "By all the statistics, I should be dead." But here he is, chatting with Cedarville public relations, declaring, "I'm in the bonus round." Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions as we unpack this incredible journey of faith, resilience, and a touch of divine luck!
THE KELLY CARDENAS PODCAST PRESENTS Sharon Jackson was born on April 15, 1966. She is the last of six children born to Pastor Andrew and the late Lady Lottie Jackson. She has been singing for as long as she can remember. As a child she would sing with her brothers and sisters at church, as well as at home around the kitchen table. Music has always been a part of her family. She came to realize at an early age that God had anointed her to sing praises unto Him. She graduated from Memphis Central High School in 1984 and went on to attend Emory University in Atlanta, GA. However, as a junior, she transferred to University of Memphis where she received her B.A. in Psychology. Sharon began leading Praise and Worship in 1986 at Faith Temple Ministries Church in Memphis, TN where her father, Andrew Jackson, is the founder and Pastor Emeritus, and her brother, Ivory Jackson is the current pastor. She has found that worship is a lifestyle that one must live out daily, being fully aware that God is ever present and ever near. The Lord has truly anointed her to lead His people into His presence, and she counts it a privilege, as well as an awesome responsibility to have been chosen by God to do so. She served as the coordinator and worship leader for the Praise and Worship Team at her church for 25 years and she also served as the choir director and trainer. For the last 12 years, Sharon has been serving as the Minister of Music at Greater Community COGIC in Marietta, GA where the pastor is Bishop Matthew Brown. She served for 16 years, from 2000-2016, 8 years as the Assistant Coordinator, and 8 years as the Coordinator of the Church of God in Christ International Praise Team “Send Judah First” under the leadership of the International Music Department Ministers of Music, Professor Iris Stevenson McCullough and Dr. Judith Christie McAllister. Sharon was blessed to record a Live Praise and Worship CD in September of 2004 entitled “Make His Praise Glorious.” She has also had the privilege of singing on several recordings, including Judith Christie McAllister's “Sound The Trumpet,” as well as the Tennessee Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Mass Choir where she led the title track “When I Get There” written by the legendary V. Michael McKay, which she was also blessed and honored to sing at the National Homegoing Celebration of former COGIC Presiding Bishop G. E. Patterson. She was also blessed to sing on the recording project of Pastor Linwood Dillard and the Voices of Citadel. She is currently working on a new project hopefully to be released in early 2024. Sharon is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Brittany Elizabeth and Sophia Antonette. Her desire is to, in all things and at all times, make the praises of God glorious. Did you know that in Greek there are such things as 3rd person imperatives??? Me neither! We don't have these in English. Usually if I command you to do something (1st person) then that makes sense. "You, listen to this podcast" is a 1st person command. In Greek there can be third person commands where I command someone else to do something other than you, as the listener. Does all of this sound confusing? Join the club. I invited Dr. Michael McKay on to the podcast to discuss this concept and explain to us how it is used in the New Testament. Dr. J. Today's devotional speaker is Dr. Michael McKay, Assistant Professor of Biblical Theology at Cedarville University. Dr. McKay encourages us with the reality of the believer's enjoyment of the presence of God. His text is Romans 5:1-11.
“By All the Statistics, I Should be Dead” It is a miracle that Dr. Michael McKay, Assistant Professor of Biblical Theology, is teaching at Cedarville this fall. On June 19, 2021, Dr. McKay wasn't feeling right, but figured he could walk off the odd aches and pains he was experiencing in his throat and back. But when his left leg went numb, the alarm bells went off. Knowing that leg numbness can be a symptom of stroke, Dr. McKay and his wife, Lee-Ann, went immediately to Greene Memorial Hospital. After the CT scan of his chest, doctors knew he was in the middle of a serious health crisis – he had a dissected aorta. He was taken by ambulance to Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio, for emergency surgery. After 10 ½ hours in the operating room with cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Peter Pavlina and his team, along with the constant prayers of friends, family, and church family here and all around the world, Dr. McKay came out repaired and changed. “I'm in the bonus round,” he shared with Cedarville Public Relations. “By all the statistics, I should be dead. This is why the doctors said it's a miracle. Every medical professional in my family or who is a friend of mine, when they heard what happened before they heard about the success of the surgery, many of them told me they did not think they would have seen me again until the presence of the Lord.” …………. Dr. McKay last appeared on the Cedarville Stories podcast in February 2020 when he shared about training Russian church leaders and visiting the Holy Lands with Cedarville students, including his children, Alexis, Andrew, and Katherynn.

On the return of the McKay Interview after the summer break - no matter where you were on the 4th August, you must surely have been aware of the huge explosion in Beirut. According to Lebanon’s team at the United Nations, the explosion was like 15 years of war in 15 seconds, comparing its impact to the devastation from the country's civil war that lasted from 1975 to 1990. We all know that Lebanon has been living through some of its toughest times in recent history following the October 17th Uprisings, the severe economic crisis that the country is going through, Covid-19 and, as if all that were not enough, the epic explosion. It cost the lives of nearly 200 people, 7000 wounded and over 300,000 left homeless. Bear in mind listeners that Geneva’s population is 500,000! Just to give you a sense of comparison. Michael McKay's guest today is Nabil Canaan, a Lebanese-Swiss, who describes himself as a cultural producer, multi-media filmmaker, development consultant and brand marketing professional.
Welcome to Season 2:Episode 8 of 'The Player And The Fan' featuring David Noel III and Quierra Luck. We are excited to bring you an official podcast highlighting both sports elements, the player and the fan. We will be bringing you our viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC. On this episode, Quierra takes the back seat and allows the guest-fan, Michael Mckay, to take over the show. Over the last few weeks, 'The Player and The Fan' held a contest looking for the ultimate fan, a fan who will go head to head with former Tar Heel, 2005 National Champion, former NBA player, professional player and now G-League coach, David Noel III. Michael's ability to capture David's leadership, confidence, and responsibility during his tenure at North Carolina was spot-on. David glowed with flattery, but he was diligent in making sure Michael's questions were answered thoroughly detailed and passionate. This episode allowed David and Quierra to thank their fans for listening, but to let them know without them, this podcast wouldn't exist; you are the foundation of this show. To Michael and every other fan who spends their time listening, engaging, and sharing, thank you. We strive to make this podcast something all fans, especially Carolina, can enjoy.

This is the second in the mini-series, recorded on the 22nd April, and devoted to a broader and fuller understanding of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic which has beset us all for the past few months. Michael McKay speaks to someone with hard and proven experience in another country that had been affected quite seriously by the SARS epidemic some 17 years ago. Mario Possamai, who, by profession, is a forensic investigator, and author. And was Senior Adviser for 4 years for Occupational Health & Safety and Pandemic Planning on the Canada’s SARS Commission. That was the judicial inquiry into the outbreak of SARS in 2003. It was styled as the first major epidemic of the 21st century and, ominously, a dress rehearsal for the COVID-19 pandemic. Mario was the Commission’s chief investigator into death and illness among health care workers, who comprised about half of all SARS victims in Canada.
This week, Michael McKay speaks to author and thinker James Breiding. His latest book 'Too Small to Fail - why some small nations outperform bigger ones and how they are reshaping the world'.

An interview with Daniel, recently released from incarceration and now a registrant. He tells us about his preparation for release, his efforts to find and keep a job upon release, and the lessons that he has taken away from his experience thus far. Hosted by Michael McKay.
Join us for an interview with Will Mingus, Ph.D. He is the Editor in Chief of LifeTimes Magazine, America's only quarterly print magazine for people facing the adversity of being on a registry. LifeTimes often publishes profiles of people on registries who are happy, hopeful, and succeeding in life despite the many challenges of being a registered citizen. It also covers a myriad of topics of interest not only to registrants, but to anyone wishing to develop and maintain a positive outlook on life. Will is also the Executive Director of Illinois Voices, a registry reform advocacy group in Illinois made up of volunteers who are concerned about the proliferation of public registries in the United States, and Illinois in particular. They focus their efforts in two main areas: Legislation and Litigation. Their legislative efforts include working closely with lawmakers to help them understand the collateral consequences of public registries, and providing them with empirical research regarding the ineffectiveness of registries. They actively oppose legislative efforts that are based on knee-jerk reaction to high profile, yet extremely rare, occurrences. Illinois Voices also works with civil rights attorneys to challenge laws that they believe are unconstitutional and ineffective. Our hosts for this broadcast are Michael McKay, Elizabeth Christensen, Shawna Baldwin, and Dwayne Daughtry.
Join us for an interview with Dr. Alissa Ackerman, as we discuss her perspectives on criminal justice reform, the sex offender registry, and her work as an advocate for restorative justice. "The conversation around ending sexual victimization has become polarized. With people on one side calling for war against a culture that allows gender based violence to occur and individuals on the other side suggesting that survivors and feminists have taken it too far, the discourse appears to be black and white. Ending sexual abuse requires a nuanced approach - one where we lean into uncomfortable conversations. I am committed to ending sexual abuse in all forms. In my years as a public rape survivor and a sex crimes policy expert, I have learned one very important lesson." ~ Dr. Alissa Ackerman Our hosts for this show are Michael McKay, Shawna Baldwin, Elizabeth Christensen, and Dwayne Daughtry

Listen & Subscribe via iTunes An Active Facebook Group Dear hosts, The Hosting Journey Facebook Group is very active. Just recently, Darlene talked about Airbnb's Experiences finally coming to her city. And Micaela she shared her website, Hank was talking about his most popular amenity and he was asking what was ours. What is my most popular amenity, you ask? My House Manual, of course. I'm telling you, my guests just love it! They often mention it in my reviews. Calder just said: “Evelyn is truly a Superhost and there are many personal/thoughtful touches around the apartment, as well as a very thorough neighborhood guidebook.” Don't you just love a great review? We live for those. Now let me tell you about this week's show. One of the most popular question members of the Facebook group ask is “How to hire and most importantly, keep, a cleaning person?” I consider my cleaning person the most important member of my team. And if you listened to Episode 33 How to build a team for your Airbnb, you'll agree. Sure, this month my roofer seem to be sharing the top spot and most of my money! But that's another episode. In general, the cleaning person is the glue that holds the team together. I know what you're thinking, expecting you to find a reliable cleaner feels like I'm asking you to prove the existence of Bigfoot. I'm not. Listen up, everyone (that includes you, too, bigfoot enthusiasts). I didn't say he didn't exist, I just implied it. Finding the Elusive Cleaning Person So, how do you find “the perfect cleaning person?” Someone who insists that the toilet seat is not clean until you can see your reflection in it? Someone who takes their role so seriously that you may secretly refer to them as the dust police? Someone who you can trust with your home, who is good with your extensive checklist, and who can identify a stain and knows how to remove it by just looking at it? Yes, people. There is a lot more to a cleaning person's job than…well…cleaning. This episode isn't really about cleaning, after all. It's about how to find that perfect person for your team. In Hiring and Keeping a Cleaning Person, we go deep into how Vera Shulgina hires, trains, and retains her cleaning crew. Vera helps Michael Mckay at his company, Stay. She helped Michael create a process and system for hiring the cleaning crew for his vacation rentals. You might remember Michael from Episode 37: How to Build a Community of Hosts. Vera and I quickly start discussing whether you give someone a chance if they don't have everything you're looking for. She doesn't, even if the person checks off every other item on her list. If they don't check this one particular item, they don't make the cut. Sound harsh? You just have to listen. Set Them for Success On to training your cleaning person. Just hand them the key, and tell them to get started? No. Please don't do that! This is your team, Captain. You want to set them up for success. Set them up for the win against their rival: the messy listing. Give them a pep talk so motivating and clarifying that the spiders will shudder in their corners and begin unweaving their webs. The used sheets will attempt to wash themselves. The messy listing will be no match for your cleaning person. Yes, cleaning is cleaning, but you're a Superhost for a reason. I know I like things done a very specific way, and I also know I'm not alone in this. We talked about writing checklists, taking photos, and using apps to help you train your staff. Look found your bigfoot (ahem, I mean perfect cleaning person). They're trained and ready to take down their opponents. Now you just need them to stick around–and be happy that they're working for you. How do you keep your cleaning person happy? Don't be a Scrooge. Be generous. Can you afford to give them a raise? Yes? Then do it. Don't kid yourself, everyone wants more money. But what do you do when you can't afford the raise that they've asked for? Vera and I talked about that, too. If you want to see the checklist I give my cleaning person and the ad Vera posts for finding that right person, just click below. I want to thank Vera for joining us today. She has a lot of knowledge about this topic, which I am sure has been helpful for everyone so far. A Little Controversial is OK I was just thinking that I love the idea of a salary. Something about it just seems so stable in this day and age. Mind you, the salary is per listing. For me to determine if I can pay my cleaning person a salary, I need a spreadsheet. The numbers need to be analyzed, and they need to make sense for your business as well. Remember that you don't have to hire a cleaning person. If you're terrified of spiders and cleaning other people's things and just grossness in general…a cleaning person might be the solution for you. I still do some of my own cleanings, but I do have a person that cleans every so often. When I'm traveling, busy with The Hosting Journey, sick, or just sick of cleaning. My cleaning person has been with me for over a year. It's good to have someone who knows your home, your style. Not to call them last minute for an emergency but to just be able to relax, take a deep breath, and know that you can have peace of mind. Know that your home and your business are taken care of. That's what a great cleaner provides. Peace of mind. Your Host, Evelyn Links: Some of the links mentioned are affiliate links. if you choose to make a purchase, I may earn a commission. Reach Out to Me On today's episode, I have Michael Mckay and he is an Airbnb host in my neighboring state of New Jersey. Yes, I'm aware that I tend to have more guests on the podcast who are hosts from the U.S. It's not by design. Trust me, I´d love to showcase hosts from around the globe. So, if you're in Europe, Asia, the Americas or down under or over, anywhere really on our planet…. I invite YOU to reach out! Let's connect, chat, and who knows… maybe YOU, TOO, will be my next guest on the podcast. My criteria? Simple. Provide value to the community. See? Easy peasy. Provide value Michael McKay's Community Now, back to the show and today's guest, Michael Mckay. He started hosting about 4 years ago. And like many hosts, he was using the Airbnb extra funds to finance a vacation… In doing this little Airbnb experiment, he realized that he didn't have to live with 5 (yes dear hosts 5) roommates to help with his living expenses. Four years later, Michael manages over 18 Airbnb properties in New Jersey and California. Yes, we have a true hosting visionary with us today. Michael will be sharing a wealth of knowledge with us today… Two big tips he will share with us? The first: Photos. It's all about our photos, hosts… Remember, a picture is worth a 1000 words… Especially when your guests don't read your descriptions. A photo will book your space faster than a beautiful poetic description… Though, I do believe in simple captions… Another simple tip? If you haven't had bookings which means no reviews… lower your price… Discounted prices will usually bring traffic and bookings that will lead to reviews… Of course, it's about getting and maintaining those 5-star reviews… You can always check out my episode THJ 16: How to Master Your Guests Reviews: the Positive and Negative It will help guide you to getting consistent 5-star reviews… Anyway, as you might know, hosting can be a lonely career, and you know your family and friends get exhausted listening to your hosting stories about your guests. You find them hilarious and interesting… They find them tedious, if mildly amusing… You need a tribe. A tribe that gets it! Michael wanted to connect with other hosts in person, so he created a meetup group. Soon enough, he was able to get sponsors to pay for space. Michael speaks about how he grew the meetup and the structure of the meeting. Today's show is full of great information, so I´m glad you're here to get the scoop…How to Build a Community of Hosts in your City with Michael McMkay. Michael, thank you for sharing your experience and how to build that perfect hosting community because as you all know… we all need that Tribe to get our support… That's what The Hosting Journey is all about… If you want to reach Michael, you can contact him via his website stayd.com.That's STAYD.com And, my dear hosts, you can view his apartments and his co-host Noah at thehostingjourney.com slash 37. There is nothing like creating a community. Whether in person or social media sites like Instagram or Facebook, we need community.
